We’re getting to the part of the season where the teams that started hot make way for new teams to start to get hot. The Kansas City Chiefs looked unbeatable until they showed a chink in their armor in Detroit, and the Texans looked pretty pedestrian until recently. The Texans were a popular upset pick for Sunday, but it’s still surprising to see them come back from an early 14 point deficit when it looked like the Chiefs were going to roll right over them.Â
The Vikings passing game has looked lethargic so far this season with a lot of the blame being placed on Kirk Cousins when really Kevin Stefanski and Mike Zimmer deserve a lot of the heat. Stefon Diggs, who is one of the most talented wide receivers in the league, was left for dead by this Vikings offense. Until Sunday when he went off for 3 touchdowns. Things in this league can shift at any time.Â
- Kyle Allen was a victim of bad drops by Jarius Wright and Curtis Samuel. A good day for him could have even been a bigger day. Allen finished the day with 227 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. There is talk of Cam Newton not getting the job back when he is healthy and that’s just ridiculous. We’ll see what happens.Â
- Curtis Samuel caught 4 balls for 70 yards and a touchdown and he also ran in a touchdown on a hand off. We were due for a big Curtis Samuel game and I’m glad that one of my preseason darlings broke out this week.Â
- Mike Evans had a nice day statistically in a matchup that is usually bad for him. James Bradberry usually erases Evans from the game. It was good to see Evans get 17 targets, but he actually played really bad. Evans dropped an easy long touchdown pass, he also wasn’t putting himself in good position to catch balls late in the game. Chris Godwin might really be the better wide receiver.Â
- Chris Godwin really got in going in garbage time. Godwin caught 10 of his 12 targets for 151 yards. Cameron Brate caught the lone touchdown pass for the Bucs.
- Jameis was doomed from the start while missing 2 of his starting offensive linemen. That’s not a good enough excuse. Winston was atrocious. 5 interceptions in inexcusable.Â
- Even on a day when McCaffrey was contained, he still managed two touchdowns. He’s an unstoppable force in fantasy football.Â
- You don’t really need to throw touchdown passes when you can run for 152 yards and a touchdown. Lamar Jackson still managed to have a big day despite not really getting it going through the air.Â
- Mark Andrews had a fumble on one of those dumb leaps, but he still managed 99 yards on 6 catches.Â
- Auden Tate had a nice day and outpaced Tyler Boyd on targets 12-7. Tate caught 5 of his 12 targets for 91 yards.
- Mixon. Lol.
- Mark Ingram just keeps chugging along. 52 yards on the ground and a touchdown. Not a league winner, but a value where he was drafted.Â
- Hopefully Beckham’s 100-yard day on 11 targets alleviated some of the angst from him owners. He’s still going to have some big days.Â
- Nick Chubb was phenomenal. He found the end zone a couple of times and also ripped off a 52 yard run. Kareem Hunt is still a couple of weeks away from returning and this shouldn’t worry Chubb owners at all. Hunt will be a complementary back to one of the most talented runners in the league.Â
- Baker looked awesome before turning into the dumpster fire that he has been for a lot of the season. 3 interceptions against the Seahawks secondary AT HOME is really bad.Â
- Russell Wilson continued his MVP campaign in Cleveland throwing for 295 yards and 2 touchdowns while also rushing for 31 yards.Â
- Chris Carson scored another 100-yard game with a touchdown. Carson is one of the best draft values that we got this year in fantasy and with the way he is playing, Penny won’t be much of a factor.
- DK Metcalf made a couple of awesome catches and shared the target lead with Tyler Lockett. Metcalf becomes much more interesting in the passing game if Will Dissly misses extended time.Â
- Carlos Hyde has completely revitalized his career in Houston. He carried the ball 26 times for 116 yards in Kansas City and also caught a 14 yard pass.Â
- Despite seeing a combined 21 targets, Will Fuller and DeAndre Hopkins disappointed on Sunday. Deshaun Watson found solace in a Darren Fells and Jordan Akins tight end combination. We will continue to wait for a DeAndre Hopkins breakout, but Will Fuller could be in some trouble when Kenny Stills returns.Â
- Deshaun Watson was a couple of mistakes away from a flawless game that saw him throw for 280 yards and run in 2 touchdowns on top of a touchdown pass.Â
- Patrick Mahomes had a rare day where he threw for under 300 yards. He still threw 3 touchdown passes. Mahomes has such a high ceiling.Â
- Tyreek Hill made his return with a bang on Sunday. He turned a beautiful deep ball into double coverage that only he could catch into a touchdown and caught 4 more balls for an 80 yard and two touchdown day.Â
- LeSean McCoy had 8 of the 11 carries in the backfield, for whatever that is worth.Â
- There isn’t much to spotlight from the Saints-Jaguars game other than the fact that Michael Thomas will always get his.. 8 catches for 89 yards in a game that saw 19 total points. Kamara was healthy enough for 18 touches, but didn’t do much with it.Â
- Mike Gesicki led the Dolphins in targets and caught 3 of them for 51 yards. The Gesicki journey HEATS UP!
- I was hoping for a bigger day from Preston Williams, but we’ll have to wait for another week.Â
- Adrian Peterson racks up another 100 yard rushing game. I have a feeling he has at least 1 more in him. Even if it’s in the XFL in 2021.
- Scary Terry took advantage of not having to face Xavier Howard. He caught 4 passes for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Terry must be started in all formats.Â
- Ryan Fitzpatrick might be the starter for the Dolphins going forward. I’m honestly not even sure if this is good or bad news for them. He and Rosen are both terrible.Â
