packer-bus

In a match-up that has featured some really good games, both during the regular season and the playoffs, today’s game will try it’s hardest to destroy those fond memories as a momentum-riddled Packers team will go against a 49ers team that’s struggling not to be the new Browns. While I would normally say they have no chance at this enormous feat, you know, because the old Browns are still doing their darnedest to be the new Browns, the Colin Kaepernick-led 49ers are trying to find new depths in which to bury themselves in. They’ve given up over 40-points two straight weeks, resembling something I’d see while playing NFL Blitz. While the Packers are suffering a bit from the injuries to Davante Adams, and to a lesser extent, Eddie Lacy, the resurgence of James Jones has helped baffle everyone on how he was able to go from ridiculously bad to ridiculously good, (but sometimes bad) so fast. What I’m basically saying is, Aaron Rodgers is good at football.

The rest of the afternoon features Rams vs. Cardinals, a game sure to give me PTSD when matching the team’s names with their cities because baseball. The Vikings travel to Papa John’s secret base of operations in Denver and my Chargers host the Browns. Hopefully their sadness factory will be in full production mode…

@Scott: Astounding. He’s now a RB2, but I have no idea how long he can sustain that.

@Jay: and it was still good advice to drop him right after week 2, since he was supremely awful in games 1 and 2, clearly worse than coleman, and also wasn’t good for the 2 previous seasons. Maybe ATL’s line got a lot better from weeks 2-3, but coleman was light years ahead of this dude in weeks 1-2.

@Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey: Not to mention he was terrible before that. And yeah, still really like Coleman. I don’t know what to think of the Falcons, watching their games, the defense is still so shitty. No clue how that’s going to help as the season goes on.

@Jay: and clearly “good advice” has nothing to do with what happened later, we can only make decisions with the info we have at the time, i’m sure you’ll see people say “how could it be good advice, he’s been the best RB in fantasy since the end of week 2”. That last statement and mine about dropping freeman being good aren’t mutually exclusive. You don’t fold pocket aces just since you lost to pocket twos the last two times (or 20 times), 2 years and 2 games is more than enough data to show what he was very likely worth. Makes you wonder what the hell he did on a personal level once coleman got hurt. Got his hands on some of that Captain America serum.

In what order would you drop Jonathan Stewart, David Johnson, Brian Quick, Ty Montgomery, and Darren McFadden, and would you drop any of these for Zach Zenner, Christine Michael, Theo Riddick, Brandon Coleman, and DGB? (standard league). Thanks!

    • Jay

@Randy: You have them in the correct order. DMC for Zenner is okay. Just stream that position for high upside depth.

Joe Randle or Thomas Rawls in my Flex spot? (Standard league non-PPR).

standard league, have t.will and cooks down 9 but have tiebreaker so really down 8 against SEA kicker, what line you got? which side of 50-50?

          • Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey says:
            (link)

@Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey: i have that wrong, am down 9, even with tiebreaker. no bonus for long kicks.

@Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey: different league ever had one of those weeks where you could’ve did ANYTHING other than you did with 2 spots and likely won
                1. instead of playing gordon, play any of ivory/duke johnson/yeldon
                2. instead of playing marvin jones pay any of ginn/benjamin.
yuck. of course if jimmy graham has the kind of game he had in week or 2 i’ll still win.
