It’s still too early to declare any team having a zero-to-little chance of going to the playoffs. Well, except for Jacksonville. And Oakland. And probably the Vikings. And the Titans as well. Oh, Washington too. And, yeah, we should add the Bucs to that list. Okay, so yeah, it’s not that early to declare some teams anti-January, but there are certainly some teams that could be added to the list after today. The 49ers are one of them, as the Eagles come to town with Nick Foles and his 58 broken ribs and an offensive line that has a 4% attendance rate at this point. The game should be interesting, as the 49ers have lost in spectacularly mysterious fashion the last two weeks and Chip Kelly is just so damn innovative.

    Jay should I still be worried about Lacy? He did ok today and had a td called back. I know we expected more today but I feel like that was less a lack of production and more Rodgers going off. What do you think?

      @Allan: That and McCarthy is a shitty playcaller. I’m not too worried still, a lot of his yards are coming after contact.

        @Jay: Yeah that o line is letting people through way too often. Tough to get a lot of yardage when you get hit in the backfield.

          @Allan: Yeah, I mean, some of that worries me, but nothing that Lacy is doing or isn’t doing. Rodgers looked good, so that’s a nice sign.

    Hey Jay–appreciate all the work you do for us–got offered this trade in a 12 team .5 ppr—my Lacy and Ryan Mathews for his Spiller, Welker, Evans—I’m a bit weak at WR (Benjamin, T.Y., and Terrance Williams) I’ve got Aaron rodgers, Olsen, and then Gore, vereen, Khiry, Pierce…thanks in advance! Btw…it’s 1Qb, 2RB, 2Wr, 1TE, 1Flex

      No problem. I would hold here. Mathews will be back soon, and I’m not crazy on Welker.

    Thanks jay!! Who would you start in the Flex? Got vereen in their for now—other late options are Khiry or Terrance? I hate NE RB’s so much!!! How and why do I let this happen?? lol!

      @Frank own uh…: I’m leaning Vereen there, but Khiry is close enough to where I wouldn’t argue it.

    With the way Mckinnon is playing today, who’s a better stash in a PPR – Him or Ryan Mathews?(someone dropped him in my league)

    My RB’s are Forte, Ellington, Fred Jackson, Pierre Thomas, and Joique Bell I’d be dropping Bell for one of those guys.

    • Jay

      @Matt: Mathews. I like Mck, but it’s not close.

        @Jay: Thanks!

        Should I try to go for both and drop 2 of my RB’s like Pierre and Bell for both of them?

        • Jay

          @Matt: I’m okay with it, but personally, I would hold both of them in that situation.

    you know that pic you found of “banjo man” in the lead…. he’s at almost every A’s game and people love taking pics with him. Someone told me that he’s a millionaire because of some patents on the propeller hat he wears, and he that he has a box at 0.co he let’s military vets use. Have no idea if it’s true.

      @Spammer Jay: i just googled it….

      If you know the A’s, you know Banjo Man (aka Stacy Samuels). He is about 64 years old and thinks the Coliseum is the greatest stadium in baseball… He’s been playing at games for about 29 years. He walks around the stands in green and gold with a green cape and a propeller beanie hat playing, you guessed it, a banjo. You may not know that he is also a 49’ers fan. He switched allegiance to the A’s from the Giants after the A’s fired announcer Lon Simmons. “A’s games really were great fun to listen to when Lon and Bill King were around”.

      The A’s gave Banjo Man a free pass for awhile but he currently pays for his tickets. They do give him permission to roam the stands with his banjo.

      Banjo man sports a short beard, a small pony tail and a beautiful A’s cape and of course an A’s propeller be any cap. He is a legend unique in professional sports and is known world wide. While he loves the A’s he had been quoted as hating “the giants new fancy shmancy ballpark” of which he says “it sucks for watching a game, whereas the Coliseum has the greatest view from every seat and tremendous tailgating and weather”. However he has been supporting bay area teams for years and the ballpark has never stopped him from entertaining the fans and showing his support for all bay area teams.

      Banjo Man (in his other life as Samuels) is the maker of the Propeller Hat/Propeller Beanie Cam, as seen here on the Berkeley Hat online store. His company is called Interstellar Propeller and is based in Berkeley. As of about 10 years ago, he had sold about 1.5 million caps, which apparently earned him enough money to send 4 kids through college! He is not, however, the inventor of the cap as commonly told. That honor goes to Ray Faraday Nelson.

        @Spammer Jay: Still quite interesting. And is it just me, or does it seem silly that they used to let him in for free, but now he has to pay for his tickets… I doubt they are losing any money letting characters like this add some live to the whole process. In the age where HD TV is about the best damn football experience to be had, seems like you’d want anything that attracts fans to the stadium on a weekly basis.

        I’ll get off my soap box now.

        @Jay: BTW… I’m about to be 4-0 in both leagues. Thanks for all your help so far!
