Let’s open the article with the results from our fantasy football kicker analysis in Week 2. The three streamer kickers from last week’s article included 49ers kicker Jake Moody, Titans kicker Nick Folk, and Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins. Scoring is based on one point per extra point, three points for field goals up to 30 yards, 0.1 points per yard over 30, minus one for extra points missed, and fields under 40 yards missed.

Week 2 Streamer Kickers — The Results

  • Jake Moody – 14.7 Points (K3)
  • Nick Folk – 10.4 Points (K11)
  • Dustin Hopkins – 9.8 Points (Tied K14)

Now that we have seen the results from our streamers let’s compare them against the Top 5 rostered kickers in fantasy football from Week 2. The list of “STUD” kickers includes Justin Tucker, Harrison Butker, Evan McPherson, Tyler Bass, and Daniel Carlson!

The Studs

  • Justin Tucker – 11.4 Points (K9)
  • Daniel Carlson – 5,7 Points (K30)
  • Harrison Butker – 5.8 Points (K29)
  • Evan McPherson – 6 Points (K27)
  • Tyler Bass – 8 Points (K19)

It’s easy to see that even kickers, it’s smart to play the matchups. Outside of Justin Tucker, we would consider our three streamer kickers each week over any of the other studs unless the matchup is strong for one of those other stud kickers as well. This week only Tucker and Tyler Bass have plus matchups in our metric. So, if you don’t have one of those two kickers, here are the streamer kickers for Week 3. All the kickers below are outside the Top 10 in roster percentage on Sleeper!

Week 3 Streamer Kickers

Kicker: Brett Maher

Team: Los Angeles Rams

Matchup: Cincinnati Bengals

The resurgence of Matthew Stafford has brought back the firepower in the Rams’ offense. This has led to a league-high eight kicking opportunities for Brett Maher. If it wasn’t for a few missed field goals in Week 1, Maher would be the unquestioned K1 through two weeks. Now heading into Week 3, Maher plays against the Bengals, who are one of nine teams that has allowed 6+ field goal attempts this season.

Kicker: Cameron Dicker

Team: Los Angeles Chargers

Matchup: Minnesota Vikings

Through two weeks, Cameron Dicker is the K7 on the year. Being tied to a high-powered offense in Los Angeles helps a ton, as the Chargers are one of eight teams with 11 or more kicker opportunities through Week 2. This week the Chargers take on a Vikings defense, who ironically are one of the 10 teams that have allowed 11+ kicker opportunities through Week 2. Finally, this game will be in a dome, so that always helps!

Kicker: Dustin Hopkins

Team: Cleveland Browns

Matchup: Tennessee Titans

The Browns offensive struggles are notable through two weeks as Deshaun Watson is yet to regain form. The silver lining to having a good quarterback who is struggling is it leads to a lot of scoring opportunities for your kicker. Dustin Hopkins is the K5 through Week 2 and is one of 11 kickers averaging three field goal attempts per game. Now in Week 3, the Browns play a Titans team that allowed double-digit points to kickers in back-to-back weeks.
