The rumors of Michael Turner’s death have been greatly exaggerated.  Last night he looked like he took Marshawn Lynch’s beast mode and Spike Jonzed it onto the big screen.  He’s still what he is; a big, fast, straight ahead runner who will blow a crease up into a thousand pieces.

Matt Ryan: I mentioned that his schedule was getting tough and that you should trade him, well, it’s probably too late now. He’s not going to have games like this every week from here on out, but it will be hard for him to lead your team to a championship.  Oh, and the Saints will get you turnovers! You heard it here, um, last.

Steve Slaton: Kubiak says that all three running backs will play.  He told Slaton to keep his chin up because they’ll need him.  I told Kubiak to keep his chin up because I want it exposed for when I give him a sucker punch and then run away.  Kubiak will play whoever he thinks will win him the game; selfish bastard.

George Kokonis: The Brown’s GM was fired. Yeah, this will make them better real soon.

Darren McFadden: He was seen making cuts in practice and has a bye week to get ready for a bad Chiefs team.  We’ll have to see how he looks in practice, but he could be ready to go.  In case he’s been dropped, pick him up.

Chris Chambers: He was given his walking papers by the Chargers. Malcolm Floyd was already starting ahead of him, but now people who don’t pay attention in your leagues might start looking at him, so you probably need to snatch him up.

Pierre Thomas: He looked like the better back last night because he is.  He still split time with Mike Bell, but I believe we’ll see more and more of Thomas.  The cream usually rises to the top and then gives you diabetes, but hey, it’s good.

Calvin Johnson: Coach Schwartz says he isn’t sure if Megatron will be able to go next week.  That doesn’t sound great, but Schwartz isn’t going to tell us anything useful anyway.  I think he’ll go since he was practicing last week.  If he doesn’t, his injury is more severe than they are letting on and he probably shouldn’t be practicing anyway.  And if I were Optimus Prime, this would be my chance!

Ted Ginn: Even though he went all Eric Metcalf on the Jets he’s droppable in non return yardage leagues. He’s lost his job which is pretty bad considering the Dolphins need for wide receivers.

Maurice Morris: He had a decent game after Kevin Smith was hurt against the Rams, but my brother in-law who “could have gone pro if not for a bad knee” could have had a decent game against the Rams. But anyway you look at it, Kevin Smith has not been 100% for much of this year. If you are hurting for RB’s pick Mo Mo up.

Anquan Boldin: He is perpetually dinged up and I don’t see him going against Chicago.  Breaston will be a good play if that happens.

Reggie Bush: He strolled into the endzone last night, but he barely sees the ball anymore.  Even with the occasional touchdown you can’t feel good about starting him with his total lack of looks.

mcfadden and the raiders suck, sure in deeper leagues a starting rb is nice to have but he isnt and wont soon be a starter on many winning fantasy teams, think lewis type with a spark of upside

    compare two possible trades:

    pmanning/brandon jacobs for rivers/forte

    and

    pmanning/bowe for rivers/roddy

  3. denzik says:
    (link)

@jamiesonmj: very fair and even trades,id say at this point i like the jacobs and roddy sides, again the thing that scares me with peyton is that if they have a 4 or 5 game lead down the streatch,he might not play that much in a few games, and i think roddy is starting to really heat up

I’m in desperate need of a WR (Megatron, Royal, R. Williams). I’ve got a boatload of RBs (Benson, LT, Grant, PT Bruiser, Maroney, Harrison). Going forward who do you recommend dealing? I’m currently 5-3 (Thank you Matt Schaub), so the playoffs are in my future. Looking at schedules, it seems that all of those guys with the exception of Grant have very favorable playoff matchups. Who should I deal and who should I target?

Would a Maroney for Walter deal be good for me?

    @Doc:

Non-PPR league– would you ditch Bowe for Breaston for the second half of the season?

one person of interest who’s dwindling in the free agency in almost every league is Anthony Gonzalez. now he’s probably not coming back this week, and maybe not the next. but that’s the rub, isn’t it? are they holding him out to make sure he comes back 100% or is the kid just too banged up to play period. if you have an expendable WR you’re not going to use, i would trade in for A-Gonz. at worst you’ll drop him three weeks down the road anyway. but the best case scenario is the juicy one. he comes back healthy, re-inserts himself after a couple of weeks into the starting line-up. and you’ll have Peyton Manning’s #2 WR for your fantasy play-offs.

not that you need extra motivation, but Colts get Titans in wk.13 and Jags in wk.15 – definite spot starting material – titans giving up the most pass yrds per game, and jags not far behind as the 7th most in the league.

Please, if you do get that lick in on Kubiak be sure to record it so I can watch on YouTube and get some satisfaction.

In a PPR league with two RB slots and no flex position. I’ve got Slaton, Julius Jones, Ricky Williams and Lynch. I’m going to start Slaton, but who should I slide into second position? Mo Mo is a possible pickup off the waivers…I’ve also got a guy that might trade me Rivers (I also have Roth) for LDT. What should my move be? Thanks for the help.

    12 team league

I have to trade one of my WR for a RB since all my RB but Donald Brown have a Bye this week… Would you rather get Hightower or Bradshaw? And would you give Hester (my 4th WR) + Michael Bush for either Hightower or Bradshaw?

  9. ThePoonTycoon says:
    (link)

@jamiesonmj: i think the drop from roddy to bowe is larger than from forte to jacobs, thus i’d say take the peyton/jacobs trade side if you are the rivers owner. as for peyton not playing much downt he stretch, that usually only happens in week 17, and many teams over the last few seasons have gotten burned trying to be too cute about how much rest they can get a guy. unless he’s injured i’d fully expect peyton to play full games through week 16, and probabloy a half in week 17.

  10. denzik says:
    (link)

@ThePoonTycoon: i think your right on manning, but to avoid the possibility of a couple of studs on great teams sitting out the last game,we dont count week 17 at all in my keeper league(no playoffs)season ends week 16

Who would you start this week at a W/R flex spot: Cedric Benson or Roddy White?

  12. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

@jamiesonmj: Like the Jacobs side and the Roddy side.

@Drew: I think dealing Maroney wuld be a good idea, but he is the starter and you should be able to get a little more than Walter.

@Howie: I think KC will be throwing a lot. Bowe has a little more upside than Breaston.

@Denys: Agreed, tough to know what will happen with him, but I’d grab him if he is on the wire.

@Jimbo: Lynch is on a bye. I’d probably go with Ricky.

@Vince: In your situation I would probably make the trade. Bradshaw is the better play this week.

  13. Doc

    Doc says:

    @tito: Benson

  14. ThePoonTycoon says:
    (link)

@denzik: yeah the whole sitting out part was really directed at Denys who brought it up.

  15. Guy says:

Who do you like this week and the rest of the year in a flex slot: Maroney or Royal?

  16. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

@Guy: Royal’s lack of targets is killing him. He will be extremely inconsistent. Maroney is in a backfield that will make him inconsistent as well, but I usually go with the RB if it’s close.

  17. John says:

Last question for me.. ive been shopping forte round the league and i got two offers on the table for him

    Forte for Jacobs
    Forte for Barber

What do you think about the Jacobs trade especially with bradshaw hurt.

  18. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

@John: I like the Jacobs trade. It’s hard for me to give up on Forte, but I think Jacobs has more upside.

@mgeoffriau: Hmm, good info. What do you think about Guy’s choice between Maroney and Royal?

  21. mgeoffriau

@Doc: Maroney for now, at least until Sammy Morris returns. That should give a couple weeks to see what happens with Royal.

I play in a league where you get 3 keepers. I believe my team is done.. in 8th place. I have Donovan, C. Johnson, MJD, Mike Bell, Gates, Manningham, Ward, and Steve Smith (Car) as my starters. Garcon and Nate Washington and roy will as my bench.

I have an offer trading away MJD for Beanie and Deasean. what do you think?

Or trade away MJD and C Johnson for beanie, desean, schaub, and ladainian…what do I do?

  24. jesse says:

    2 flex spots, 3 players:

lesean mccoy, hines ward, steve breaston

    ??

and should i even think of starting hasselbeck (vs Det!) over brady this week?

  25. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

@Jeff: I don’t like the moves for you. Wells and DJax are great keepers, but MJD isn’t going to drop off that much.

@jesse: A lot depends on Westbrook and Boldin’s status. I’d wait until later to decide.

    Gotta stick with Brady.

  26. Jeff says:
    (link)

We’re in an auction league so MJD is going to be $44 next year while Desean and Beanie will be a combined $27 with a budget of $200. Do you still make the move? I plan to keep Chris Johnson at 29 too.

  27. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

@Jeff: That does change things quite a bit. If you really are ready to punt this season I think it will help you out in the long run.

  28. Nick says:
    (link)

@Doc: I’m dropping R Williams for B Berrian. Also dropping Eli Manning for a defense since Jets are on bye in week 9. Go with New England vs. Miami, Atlanta vs. Wash or Seattle vs. Detroit?

Do you hold onto Choice in a 10-team league or role with someone like Moats or McFadden who are available?

  29. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

@Nick: I like the Roy Williams drop, but who else do you have besides Eli? He hasn’t been great, but he’s a nice backup to have. I like Seattle. Choice is droppable for both at this point. Moats is safer at this point.

  30. Nick says:
    (link)

@Doc: I have Brees, so no point in holding Eli and I tried trading him but its very hard in a 10-team league as everyone has a better QB…

  31. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

@Nick: In a ten team you probably should be able to find a matchup play if Brees goes down.

  35. Vince says:

    @Doc: Thanks

I received another offer in the meantime (as I said above, I only have Donald Brown at RB for week 9… My other RB are AP, McFadden, M. Bush and my WR are Wayne, White, Driver, Hester and Anthony Gonzalez)

    The offer is :

I give Roddy White and I get Slaton… Would you accept it? I was thinking about countering with my Driver for his Slaton instead…

  36. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

@Vince: I’d do the counter. You are hurting and may have to take a hit, but wheel and deal as much as you can.

@vinko: Wow, never thought I’d say Favre, but Ryan’s schedule just sucks. i do still worry about Favre getting hurt, but we are pretty far into the season and he hasn’t.

  37. Vince says:
