I have a 16 team IDP draft on Wednesday night with the Roto Arcade posse so I’ve been updating the tiers and cajoling Drew to help me shore up some IDP strategy all while preparing to teach three classes and fly to NY for a wedding (one in which I will be sitting in the back drinking myself into a stupor while checking my Iphone for NFL tweets; hope my wife isn’t reading this). Anyway, we are so close to football that I’m dreaming of Tony Siragusa botching the English language.
I tweaked the tiers a bit, but nothing too earth shattering. #2 receivers on crappy teams are a pain in my ass, but a thousand puppies will die instantaneously if I don’t know who they are. So you will see a bunch of receivers added to the tiers. Live with it!
Here are just a few of the players I moved around. Take a look.
DeAngelo Williams: With Stewart’s lingering achilles I moved Williams up past Chris Johnson because I always wanted to and that gave me a good excuse.
James Davis: His ADP will even out now that Lewis didn’t get cut so you should still be able to get him late. Lewis won’t be the starter long, if at all.
Greg Camarillo: Well, my guy infatuation with Davone Bess has turned sour and now I’m selling Camarillo bars to raise money for my band trip to Saskatchewan. Camarillo looks like he will be the #2 receiver and has some decent upside.
Sidney Rice: Harvin is still green and Favre is purple, but needs an outlet over the middle. Rice is his man for now.
Brandon Marshall: He’s been let out on probation. Jabar Gafney is hurt. 1 + 1 = Marshall better get his shizz in gear. He practiced with the team on Sunday and looks like he’ll play opening day. I’m counting on it and moving him up the tiers.Mike Bell: He’s still an upside backup, but with a good shot of a big game week one. If you have the flexibility grab him.
Jermichael Finley: Rodgers is going to pick apart defenses this year and Finley will be a part of that.
Jeremy Maclin: He could be the next DeSean Jackson which would be some pretty nifty drafting on the Eagles part. He looks like he’ll have few more growing pains than DJax, but has the skills to make an impact this year.
Jerome Harrison: It’s been a roller coaster ride for Harrison on our Tiers. I’ve liked him since the beginning of time, but he got hurt and big James Davis took the ball home and wouldn’t let Jerome play and of course there was old man Lewis sitting up there on his rocking chair yelling at both of them to get off his property, but since Lewis can’t seem to get out of his chair Harrison will play.
Shawn Merriman: Being the tough dude Merriman is I never thought he’d have to choke down Tequila.
Ah, the trades have already begun. What are your thoughts on these three trades: royal/moreno for calvin johnson; royal/moreno for jennings; royal/moreno for boldin/benson
@darren lobo: As long as Moreno or Royal isn’t buried on the bench I like the Moreno side.
have a 16 team IDP draft on Wednesday night with the Roto Arcade
yea I wanted an invite but Andy Behrens didn’t see fit to invite me – I told him I was in such a deep IDP draft that we had to start drafting IDP retired players – anyhway his lost – let me know how the draft turns out and who you get and who ANDY gets –
My IDP strategy !
when it comes to DB – if there is two players close in league stat point – I will take the player that got point off tackles over the interception – I can see the interceptions going down from year to year but the tackles will stay consistance
some sleepers that I like
Akeem Jordan – got starting gig late last year and was a big producer – big time late sleeper here
Larry Foote — starting MLB
Justin Duramt – starting MLB
Lawrence Timmons – starting for steelers now
E.J. Henderson is coming cheaper than the numbers he can come up with
Stephen Cooper – nice finish – I like him
Aaron Schobel – late DL sleeper that time forgot
Chris Long – late DL sleeper – good upside
Pisa Tinoisamoa – BIG NUMBERS THIS YEAR – no one is really jumping on him but I WOULD
Brandon Flowers – STRONG FINISH – going up
Gaines Adams – late DL sleeper
Charles Tillman – everyone knows he good but you still can get him a drop later than he should go
Erik Coleman – usually comes cheap enough and you will be very happy
Bernard Pollard NA now but for how long ? he does come with nice fantasy football stats even though he has trouble covering his reciever in real life
B.J. Raji DL – looks like they will need three players to block him
Jermichael Finley:- TD’s red zone go to Peterson
Jermichael Finley:- error statement- looking at computor screen for way too long
James Davis:those early drafts – I took him as my last pick – nothing to lose but alot to gain – all of a sudden he caught on –
Brandon Marshall – he and TO don’t want to play in the pre-season – I am sure he will put up big numbers during the season –
Sep 3 3:29am Jermichael Finley (GB – TE) Add Free Agents San FranCisco tim
Sep 3 3:29am Zach Miller (Oak – TE) Drop San FranCisco Waivers
THE LEGEND BEGINS – as you can see they are now dropping Zack Miller to pick up Jermicheal Finley
Would you drop Betts (not a Portis owner) for M Bell with this Pierre Thomas situation unclear?
@Da Birds: Yes
Which defense for WK1?
Chargers or Jets?
@tyleno38: Chargers
would you drop kevin curtis for M Bell and play him over R Bush?
@Doc: Just finished a 10 team .5ppr draft….wondering what you think and howd u approach the season with this team (possible strategy, etc)….not a sexy team, but seems well-balanced with the 5th pick:
QB- Rivers, Roethlisberger
RB- Turner, CP, Willie Parker, sproles, hightower, norwood, ernie graham, cadillac williams
WR- Jennings, Welker, DeSean Jackson, Lee Evans, nate washington, kevin curtis, Morgan
TE- Zack Miller (Shiancoe still available)
K- undrafted
Def- undrafted (was thinking of picking up NO Def bc they are vs DET week 1 or some sort of matchup)
START 3 WR/no flex
Thanks for the input
@Doc: and since i need to drop 2 for def/k whod you cut? thanks again
@matthole: trade Portis for Top Tier receiver if possible. cut nate washington.
@matthole: Like your team. I would drop Curtis and Graham for your K and D. Watch Welker’s status.
@Bofum: I’d start Bush as long as he’s healthy.
Thanks for the feedback…
Drop Meachem or Gage (my 4th and 5th WR’s) for Sidney Rice? (My first 3 WR’s AJ, Jennings, and Welker)
@adamh: I’d stick with what you have. Rice would probably be better than Meachem right now, but Meachem has more value on your bench if Moore or Colston go down.
Mr. Football — I moved your team to the forums. Might make it a little easier to pontificate on!
