Quarterbacks
- Player: Jared Goff
- Game: vs Jaguars
- Stats: 24/29, 412 passing yards, 4 TDs
Goff rebounded nicely after five picks last week. He benefited from going up against the third-easiest team for QBs this season and the 10th friendliest over their last four games. Goff will remain indoors in a plus matchup against the Colts in Week 12. Indianapolis is one of seven teams giving up 1,000+ passing yards to QBs over the last four weeks.
- Player: Bo Nix
- Game: vs Falcons
- Stats: 28/33, 307 passing yards, 4 TDs
Is Nix the best rookie QB in fantasy? He’s getting hot at the right time, while Jayden Daniels is struggling. Nix had an ideal matchup at home against the Falcons who are one of three teams to allow over 1,000 passing yards and nine TDs over their last four. Nix has a favorable upcoming schedule (@LV, CLE, IND) and should be strongly considered as a streamer if you’re QB play is lacking.
Notables:
Anthony Richardson’s start couldn’t have come at a better time facing the Jets who have given up the fifth-most points and second-most rushing yards to QBs. He finished the day as QB5. Don’t get burned after one good game. His next two matchups are against teams that top 12 against QBs over their last four games.
Lamar Jackson may have the hardest three-game stretch of any QB. It didn’t start well against Pittsburgh with his lowest output of the season. Next week is LA Chargers and follows up with Philadelphia. Is it okay to short-term fade him?
Jamies Winston’s fantasy relevancy run may come to an end over his next three games against Pittsburgh, Denver, and Pittsburgh.Â
Joe Burrow lit the Chargers to what was supposed to tough matchup against LA’s top-10 defense. Burrow has been on different planet scoring 30+ points in three consecutive games. He’ll have another tough matchup following his bye against the Steelers.
Running Backs
- Player: Josh Jacobs
- Game:Â at Chicago
- Stats: 18 carries, 76 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 4 receptions, 58 receiving yards
Jacob’s matchup looked harder on paper as Chicago has allowed the ninth most points to RBs over the last four games. He finished as the RB4 in Week 11. Jacobs has been playing well of late, the RB4 to be exact, by scoring a TD or totaling over 100 all-purpose yards in his last four. The Niners should be a good matchup for Jacobs as they allowed Kenneth Walker III to finish as a top-12 RB in Week 11.
- Player: Breece Hall
- Game:Â at Colts
- Stats: 16 carries, 78 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 7 receptions, 43 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 7 targets
Hall had his highest usage of the season and best fantasy output despite a below-average matchup against the Colts. It remains to be seen how the Jets offense will look after their bye week as they’re out of playoff contention. Should Hall remain the RB1, he has an ideal finish to the year with four out of five teams ranked in the top 10 of friendliest defenses to RBs.
Notables:
Sonic and Knuckles made the Jaguars’ defense run loops in Green Hill as they each finished as top-five RBs. The Lions RBs should continue to keep things rolling against Indianapolis who allowed Hall to have his best game of the season. Joe Mixon will get his first crack at the Jags in Week 13.
De’Von Achane’s value is directly tied to the health of Tua Tagovailoa. He finished as a top-six RB in five out of six games, with three finishes in the top three. Let’s hope Miami stays playoff-relevant down the stretch.
Two rushing TDs salvaged James Cook’s day despite 27 total yards. Kansas City’s defense is the BEST against RBs, so start your RBs at your peril.
Alexander Mattison and Zamir White both left the game with injuries and did not return. The Raiders RBs have one of the best end-of-season strength of schedule. Who will step up?
Did you get bamboozled by Sean Payton? Do not feel so bad, it will happen again. It’s hard to trust any RB in this backfield. The Broncos’ upcoming schedule is less than ideal for RB matchups, so I will fade this bunch.
Wide Receivers
- Player: Jerry Jeudy
- Game: at New Orleans
- Stats: 6 receptions, 142 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 11 targets
The Saints’ secondary is going to be very leaky without Marshon Lattimore. They allowed Jamies Winston to toss 395 yards with Jeudy being the biggest beneficiary. Things look bleak for the Browns with upcoming matchups with Pittsburgh, Denver, and Pittsburgh again. New Orleans will have a week off to regroup before a Week 13 matchup with the Rams’ WR duo.
- Player: Cooper Kupp
- Game: at New England
- Stats: 6 receptions, 102 receiving yards, 2 receiving TD, 10 targets
I cannot help but mention Puka Nacua also went over 100 yards and scored his first TD of the season. The Rams’ WR duo is back, looking healthy and dangerous over the last four weeks. The Patriots have only allowed one WR (Garrett Wilson) to tally over 100 yards since Week 2 when D.K. Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba tallied 100+ yards. The Rams’ next matchup will be against the toughest secondary in fantasy with Philadelphia.
Notables:
Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams finished as top-five WRs, like their RB counterparts. The Jags secondary entered the game allowing the fifth-fewest points to WRs over their last four. Detroit was without Sam LaPorta, so hard to say if their usage is sustainable. The Lions will face the Colts who limited the Jets WR duo to 90 receiving yards.
With a top-10 matchup to WRs, the 49ers relied on Jauan Jennings. Since his return to the starting lineup, Jennings has drawn 22 targets while looking like the WR1. San Francisco’s next two games could be shootouts against Green Bay and Buffalo so be sure to get him in your lineups.Â
Christian Watson secured his first 100-yard game of the season. No other Green Bay WR had more than 23 yards. The Bears have been stout against WRs all season, so this surprised me. Which Packer WR should you start next week? You’re better off guessing the over/under on Stiles drink package! The Vikings face Chicago for the first time in Week 11, so I am curious to see the box score in that game.
Rome Odunze had the highest target share among the Bears’ WRs. His 10 targets were his highest since Week 3. He could be in store for a big finish as the Bears switched OCs who want to get the ball his way. Next up are the Vikings and Lions, who each allow the third and fourth most points to WRs.
Tight Ends
- Player:Â Taysom Hill
- Game: vs. Browns
- Stats: 7 carries, 138 rushing yards, 3 rushing TDs, 8 receptions, 50 yards, 10 targets, 1/2, 18 passing yards, 1 INT
The Funkmaster had a day to remember. The Saints coaching staff made it clear Hill was going to be utilized all over the field. Interestingly, the Browns have top-10 defense against TEs, but I don’t think they were expecting Hill to be this heavily involved. One has to wonder if the fantasy cheat code will continue to see this sort of usage moving forward after his bye week. Hill gets a plus matchup against the Rams in two weeks.
Notables:Â
We need to take Will Dissly seriously as he’s drawn at least six targets in five out of the last five games. Teams are targeting TEs the most against Cincinnati over the last four weeks. Dissly’s next four matchups are favorable, as each team ranks within the top 10 of friendliest to TEs.
Brock Bower’s 16 targets ranks tied for sixth as the most targets by a TE in a single game. The rookie is headed for fantasy stardom. He faces the Broncos next, where he put up 8 catches for 97 yards and one TD in Week 5. Then his next four games are against teams that allow the 10th-most points to TEs.
The Raiders have given up the most fantasy points to TEs over their last four games. Jonnu Smith exploited it finishing as TE2. He’s averaged a healthy six targets over his last four games. I would sell high if you can as the Dolphins have one of the worst schedules for TEs.
I am concerned about Mark Andrews. He has topped more than 40 yards once since Week 7 and has been TD-dependent. Isiah Likely paced the Ravens with receiving yards in Week 11. They have a tough upcoming schedule against the Chargers and Eagles, so it’ll be hard to trust either Ravens TE.
The worst no-shows of the week were Kyle Pitts, T.J. Hockenson and Tucker Kraft. Things should get better for them all.
Bye Week Update
- Week 12 Byes include Atlanta, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Jacksonville, New Orleans, and New York Jets. Adjust your lineups accordingly!
