Quarterbacks
- Player: Russell Wilson
- Game: at Cincinnati
- Stats: 29/38, 414 passing yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT
Wilson was impressive throwing for the second-most yards in his career. The Bengals were down defenders entering the game allowing the third most points to QBs this season and sixth-most over their last four games. Wilson took advantage of the situation helping his shareholders. As for Week 14, he will have an encore against the Browns in Pittsburgh with much better weather. He’s a must-start next week with Week 14 Bye-hell.
Notables:
Jayden Daniels and Anthony Richardson each finished as top 5 QBs but will be on bye in Week 14. Daniels has a plus matchup in the first week of playoffs in New Orleans, while Richardson has a poor matchup in Denver in Week 15.
Tua Tagovailoa showed he can play in the cold weather going for 350+ in Green Bay on Thanksgiving night. Fortunately, he’ll be back in Miami for Week 14 where he’ll face off against the Jets for the first time this season. Tua averages three more points at home, so he’s worth consideration.
Don’t look now, but Patrick Mahomes is getting hot at the right for his shareholders. He’s thrown for 300 yards or 3 TDs over his last three games. The Chiefs’ offense is finally healthy and have a lot to play for in Week 14 hosting the Chargers. LA has allowed 8 QB TDs, tied for the second-most over their last four games.
Sam Darnold had one of the worst matchups in Week 13 facing an Arizona defense that limited QBs under double digits over the last four games (Tagovailoa, C. Williams, Rodgers, G. Smith). He was solid finishing as QB11. More importantly, he has a top matchup in Week 14 hosting Atlanta who have allowed the second most points to QBs. Darnold has 6 TDs in his last three home games since his Week 6 bye.
Running Backs
- Player: Chase Brown
- Game: vs. Steelers
- Stats: 12 carries, 70 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 3 receptions, 30 receiving yards
What can Brown do for you? He’s shaping up to be a league winner. Since Week 8 he’s scored a TD or tallied over 100 all-purpose yards, posting double-digit scores in each game. Next up in Week 14 are the Cowboys, who have allowed 15 TDs to RBs, the second-most in the NFL. Then in the first round of the fantasy playoffs, he will face the Titans who gave up 229 rushing yards and two TDs to the Commanders backfield.
Notables:
Saquon Barkley should end the season as THE RB1. I don’t have any shares and am fearful of facing him during his next four-game stretch. Carolina, who allows the most points to RBs, in Week 14 then Pittsburgh (see above) and Washington. He crushed the Commanders, producing his second-best game of the season.
Alvin Kamara will have one of the safest floors for an RB during the postseason stretch. His schedule isn’t too worrisome and should see 20+ touches with the unfortunate injury to the Swiss army knife, Taysom Hill.
I starting to worry about Ken Walker III. He’s been inefficient and has been saved with receiving stats. His next three opponents are Arizona, Green Bay, and Minnesota, who have been great in limiting RBs of late. It’s hard to sit him, but I am not expecting early-season KW9 numbers.
Breece Hall is red hot or icy cold within the Gang Green offense. He’s got a phenomenal schedule for an RB but with a stagnant offense of late, one has to limit expectations during the postseason push. If the Jets make a QB change, it should benefit Hall.
Jordan Mason was one of my top handcuffs once CMC returned from injury rehab. Hate to see him go down in the snow in Buffalo with a non-contact injury. Mason is out for the season. Throw waiver claims and FAAB at Isaac Guerendo. He has a decent upcoming schedule with a chance to see volume of 20+ touches.
Wide Receivers
- Player: Adam Thielen
- Game: vs. Buccaneers
- Stats: 8 receptions, 99 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 10 targets
It’s more than Thielen for Bryce Young, who looked his way early and often. In a great matchup on paper, Thielen produced for those who gave him a chance. The Panthers have a decent schedule in the playoffs but have a tough opponent in Philadelphia in Week 14. The game script should help Thielen, therefore he is a worthy flex play.
Notables:
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is the hottest WR in fantasy that one believes in. He has posted eight TDs in eight games, scoring a TD in seven out of eight contests. With the Week 14 Bye Week drawing much closer, he’s my top add. He draws the Jacksonville in Week 14, then Cincinnati in Week 15. Both teams have allowed the second and seventh-most points to WRs over the last month.
Don’t overlook Jakobi Meyers with Aiden O’Connell. He’s drawn 26 targets, securing 16 for 218 yards in his last two games. Those numbers were against the Broncos and Chiefs. The Raiders WRs have the BEST fantasy schedule over the next four games. He has a chance to be a fantasy hero.
Brian Thomas Jr. may not catch a pass from Trevor Lawrence for the rest of this season. In his two games with Mac Jones, he is averaging 4 receptions for 79 yards. He has a less-than-desirable Week 14 matchup against the Titans who are allowing the 10th fewest points to WRs.
It’s hard to overlook what Keenan Allen has recently produced on the gridiron. He’s arguably been the best WR for Chicago, putting up his best two-game stretch against Minnesota and Detroit. He plays them both again in the fantasy playoffs in Week 15 and 16.
Marvin Harrison Jr. was peppered with targets in the fourth quarter, drawing a season-high of 12. Harrison is the second pass catcher in Arizona but has a promising schedule to end the season starting with Seattle in Week 14. The Seahawks’ secondary is vulnerable.
Tight Ends
- Player: Jonnu Smith
- Game: at Green Bay
- Stats: 10 receptions, 113 yards, 11 targets
Miami’s offense has changed right in front of our eyes. Smith appears to be Tua’s top target with his third consecutive game with eight or more targets. His next three opponents are stingy to TEs, so be prepared for some regression. However, when a TE is getting this kind of target share within a good offense, you have to ignore the matchups.
Notables:
Tucker Kraft remains relevant when Green Bay when one of the Packers’ trio of WRs is out. Keep tabs on Romeo Doubs’ health heading into Week 14. If he’s out Kraft makes for a viable Week 14 Bye Week replacement.
Cade Otton might be relegated to TE2 status with the return of Mike Evans. He hasn’t topped 35 yards in three straight. Don’t panic yet as he has a favorable schedule starting with the Raiders in Week 14 who are allowing the most points to TEs.
Kyle Pitts and T.J. Hockenson disappointed shareholders in Week 13. I think it’s time to move off Pitts. Hockenson has produced big games following pedestrian games, so I expect nothing less from him in Week 14.
Evan Engram continues to see TE1 target share but with a small aDOT, he’s not able to do much with them.
Juwan Johnson has deep league appeal with the injury to Hill. The Saints end of season schedule has the potential to put Johnson on the TE2 map.
Bye Week Update
- Week 14 Byes include Baltimore, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, New England, and Washington. Adjust your lineups accordingly!
