Quarterbacks

  • Player: Sam Darnold
  • Game: vs. Falcons
  • Stats: 22/28, 346 passing yards, 5 TDs

Darnold was dialed all game for the Vikings, ensuring his performance overshadowed Kirk Cousins’ return in Minnesota. Atlanta is allowing QBs to score at the ninth-highest rate this season and Kevin O’Connell took advantage. Sammy D has an 11-0 TD/INT ratio over his last four games. He is entering the fantasy postseason as a MUST start. He faces the Bears at home next week, after torching Chicago in Week 12 for 330 yards and 2 TDs. The Falcons will visit Las Vegas in Week 15.

Notables:

Josh Allen continues to be a fantasy cheat code after his six-TD performance. He has posted six rushing TDs over his last four games. Josh Jacobs (8) is the only play to score more rushing TDs during that span. Allen’s next opponent, the Detroit Lions, has allowed only two rushing scores to QBs this season. Despite the injuries on the defense, the Lions are limiting QBs to the third-fewest points over the last month.

Tua Tagovailoa has three consecutive games over 300 yards with at least two TDs. New York was down some key defenders, but the Dolphins are pushing for the playoffs, playing some of their best football of the season. Tagovailoa has an excellent matchup next week in Houston as the Texans are allowing the second-most passing yards and the third-most TDs to QBs over the last four weeks entering Week 14.

Russell Wilson got the job done, but I am out if George Pickens misses next week’s matchup on the road in Philadelphia.

My fondness of Will Levis is fading fast after a lackluster performance against the fantasy-friendly Jaguars. The reaggravation of his right AC joint injury is troubling for the Titans’ offense. Tennessee has one of the best fantasy matchups for the playoffs and it could be wasted.

The fantasy demise of Brock Purdy and the 49ers was premature. We should see fireworks on TNF against the Rams.

Derek Carr and Aiden O’Connell can be removed from playoff rosters. I had high hopes for both.

Running Backs

  • Player: Zach Charbonnet
  • Game: at Arizona
  • Stats: 12 carries, 70 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 3 receptions, 30 receiving yards

Tis the season for handcuffs and like fine wine, Charbonnet flourished. He outscored all RBs in Week 14 by halftime. Should Kenneth Walker III miss more time, the Packers matchup for the Seahawks in Week 15 is favorable. Green Bay is allowing the 10th most points to RBs over the last month and gave up two TDs to the Lions RBs on TNF.

Notables:

The Isaac Guerendo experiment might be short-lived in San Francisco after injuring his foot in the fourth. He finished Week 14 as the RB2. On a short week against the Rams, who limited James Cook to 20 rushing yards, Guerendo could bankrupt you before the playoffs begin. Patrick Taylor Jr. was the RB who finished the game for the 49ers.

Rachaad White could be a difference-maker in the first week of the playoffs following Bucky Irving’s exit against the Raiders. He will face the Chargers who have been difficult for RBs this season, but over the last month are allowing the 10th-most points to RBs.

Chuba Hubbard is the lone healthy RB in Carolina at this point in the season. He gets a smash start against Dallas in Week 15.

Isaiah Davis outperformed Braelon Allen in place of Breece Hall against Miami. Davis scored the only RB TD for New York but the pair evenly split touches. Should Hall miss next week, the duo has a great opportunity against Jacksonville. The Jags allow the second most points to RBs over the last four weeks.

Tony Pollard had this second 100-yard rushing game in his last three games. He cashed in against the Jags and has one of the best upcoming RB schedules; Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Jacksonville.

Sincere McCormick was productive as the lead back for the Raiders. He should maintain the lead-back status against Atlanta who allowed Aaron Jones to score a TD and 80+ yards.

Wide Receivers

  • Player: Puka Nacua
  • Game: vs. Bills
  • Stats: 12 receptions, 162 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 14 targets, 1 rushing TD

That’s five consecutive games with double-digit fantasy scoring outputs for Nacua. He’s emerged as the WR1 for Stafford and is a set-and-forget in the playoffs regardless of the matchups. The Rams have a chance for the playoffs, so I expect more huge games for Nacua down the stretch.

Notables:

The Vikings duo of Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison went nuclear against the Falcons. I don’t expect any resistance from the Bears who appear to have mailed it in following their blowout loss to the Niners.

Jauan Jennings is the de-facto WR1 for Purdy. He feels like a must-start against the Rams, who allowed 273 receiving yards and two scores to Bills WR room.

Khalil Shakir was one of my favorite WRs for the postseason and started with a bang, scoring his first TD since Week 3. His teammate, Amari Cooper, garnered a team-high 14 targets. Expect the Bills to keep it rolling against the Lions.

Tyreek Hill is trending in the right direction going into the playoffs. Hill has 80+ receiving yards and TDs in his last two games. Hill shareholders couldn’t ask for a better matchup against Houston, who allow the seventh most points to WRs.

In a nightmare matchup against Philadelphia, Adam Thielen put up his first 100-yard receiving game of the season. Thielen has quickly developed chemistry with the rising Bryce Young. Thielen could be a league winner and should be started in all formats next week against the Cowboys. Dallas has allowed 85 receiving yards and two TDs to WR1s over their last five games.

Not to say I told you so, but Rome Odunze could be the Caleb Williams guy over the last few games of the season. If he is out on waivers, I would acquire him with great matchups against Minnesota and Detroit. The Bears will be starting each game playing from behind.

Tight Ends

  • Player: David Njoku
  • Game: at Pittsburgh
  • Stats: 7 receptions, 42 yards, 1 receiving TD, 13 targets

We mention Jerry Juedy as the go-to playmaker for Jamies Winston, but Njoku somehow has 30 targets in his last two games. His next upcoming matchups will have favorable game script games facing the Chiefs and Bengals, who both allow the top three most points to TEs.

Notables:

Jonnu Smith’s volume took a hit but tallied an overtime TD. If the Dolphins WRs are eating, I am not sure there’s much left on the bone for Smith, especially with difficult TE matchups on the horizon. Houston and San Francisco rank as bottom-five defenses against TEs.

Michael Mayer had more targets, receptions, and yards than Brock Bowers. Make it make sense! If Desmond Ridder is the starting QB for the Raiders, I am very concerned about Bowers.

Similar to Smith’s situation, Hockenson’s value will be minimal if his WR teammates get all the love. His upcoming matchups are not terrible but not necessarily great. His Week 15 opponent, Chicago, allowed George Kittle to explode for 151 yards on six receptions.

Trey McBride should continue to see all the targets, 41 in three games, he can handle from Kyler Murray, but may not ever see the endzone in 2024.

Pat Freiermuth makes for an intriguing TE stream next week in Philadelphia. He’s produced his best three-game stretch of the season which came against the Browns (twice) and Bengals. They each rank the most and second-most friendliest teams to TEs over the last month. Meanwhile the Eagles rank as the 11th friendliest.

    Thanks Jefferson!

I may be running out of gas but let’s see if I can steal a win in my playoff matchup- it’s a tall ask as my competitor rosters the likes of Jayden Daniels/Ja’marr Chase and Lamb, but I have hope, and you! So help me set my lineup… 0.5 ppr

    1) pick 2 qb: Bo Nix/ Jared Goff/ Drake Maye
    2) pick 2 or 3 rb: Dowdle/Achane/Breece (or Braelon Allen)
    3) pick 2 or 3 wr: Kupp/Puka/McLaurin
    4) Brock bowers is my TE, not sure there’s a waiver wire pickup I feel confident about, just going to hope for some pints
    4) pick a d/st- cardinals or commanders

I feel like it comes down do if I start Breece/Dowdle or McLaurin. I worry the commanders will get up early and have nothing to play/throw for. I can see the Thursday night game being a shootout so I feel like I have to start both Puka and Kupp, then there’s the jets, who are an absolute mess, and the Potential breece hall injury. Dowdle looks great but Mike McCarthy won’t feature him and he doesn’t catch much passes, so what say you, Jefferson!

Big week ahead of us all! Thanks for sticking with me all season!

    1) Qb: Bo Nix & Jared Goff/ Drake Maye
    2) pick 2 or 3 rb: Achane & Breece (or Braelon Allen)
    3) pick 2 or 3 wr: Puka, Kupp & McLaurin
    4) I hate the situation for Bowers, but hard to sit him for anyone else. Who are on your waivers?
    4) pick a d/st- Commanders

      Thanks!

For TE, waivers has: Dalton Schultz, Michael Mayer, Juwan Johnson and Stone Smarrt as the highest rated available.

I appreciate your takes! I think I may roll with Dowdle over Breece. As a Jets fan, it pains me to do this but I know he’s nursing an injury and what do the Jets have to play for? Pride? They have none 🤣
