Thursday night proved that we can’t give up on players or teams after week 1. Mike Evans and Curtis Samuel didn’t have massive weeks but they gave us hope and sometimes that’s enough, ya know? Jameis Winston also looked somewhat sharp. Who knows if those spike weeks are coming for him and the Tampa Bay offense, but at least things were better than the week 1 game against San Francisco.

Week 2 features some good afternoon matchups in Denver, Los Angeles, and Oakland if the early slate doesn’t satisfy. Lets get to some injuries!

Injuries

Jordan Reed – Out

Joe Mixon – Questionable

Tevin Coleman – Out

Tavon Austin – Out

Derrius Guice – Out

Marquise Brown – Questionable

Trey Burton Questionable

If you have any line up questions, don’t hesitate to ping me in the comment section.

Weather

There is a chance of rain in Green Bay, but other than that, the weather front looks favorable for the slate.

I’m trying to decide which WRs to stash on the end of my bench in a 12-team 0.5 ppr league. I start Cooks and Watkins. On my bench I currently have Anderson, Marvin, and MVS.

Hardman and A.J. Brown are available. Should I drop any of my current WRs to pick up either of those guys? I don’t need instant production out of my bench WRs, so I’m aiming for whoever’s most likely to jump up to starter-quality.

I was thinking it’d be nice to grab Hardman, as there’s a chance his value goes way up once we see the Chiefs without Hill, and he’s also good injury insurance for Watkins, but I wasn’t sure if it’s worth dropping one of my current WRs to get him.

Yeah, starting to really like Hardman. I have picked him up in multiple spots. You can drop MJJ for him

    12 team PPR
QB ben/j.allen (him or murray seemed to have the best matchups for benching ben when he’s on the road, + his early bye, + his game vs BAL)
RB (2) AAron, jacobs, both MIA guys (man it’d be nice if they just let drake play, but we’re now on regime 4 consecutive at MIA that refuses to use their best RB as a starter (l.miller/drake), mostert
WR (2) lockett (return yards worth half scrimmage), adams, kupp, sutton, j.brown
TE (1) kittle (at least i’m set here)
    1 flex
    IR guice

RB options: ty mont (maybe bell is already f’d, came back from shoulder thing, but it’s pretty early if he’s nursing things), hines, ito, both my OAK/GB handcuffs are out there, burkhead, gore, j.jax

drop ballage or mostert here for any of those?

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

I’d drop Ballage for Ito, there’s a chance that Freeman just isn’t good anymore

      • Yr Never Too Old For Balloons says:
        (link)

i get a sort of extra info freeroll here too, i allow myself the option to find out if say drake gets hurt today (early game), ATL plays late, if ballage is barely used or if drake gets hurt i can either jump or hold here. this is type of league where players lock at game time, not first game of sunday.

here also, and this probably is relevant, 6 pt bonus for 300 yards passing, and 6 PT TD’ throws in general (albeit j.allen has very outside chance at the 6 pt bonus for rushing over 100) these are both ben home game possible bumps. SEA simply can’t and wouldn’t try anyway to blow out win so the negative is if PIT can run well ben might not throw much. the NE game was much more likely for him to rack yards but he couldn’t do it. my guess is if BUF gets a nice lead (certainly possible when playing against eli and garbage D NYG) j.allen won’t be slinging deep ass throws much after that.

        • Yr Never Too Old For Balloons says:
          (link)

oh shit, recent rotoworld update here, drake is one of the (near all i’d guess) MIA players looking to get the F out (i love that x.howard is the ONLY MIA player to publicly state he ISN’T trying to get out), so holding him just took on some value, now it’s even if you DON’T have coffee cake (drake)

          • MB

            MB says:
            (link)

Drake anywhere BUT Miami is a good place to have Drake

              (link)

yep, just like l.miller before him, he probably has slightly higher upside than miller did when he left, but it was long enough ago that maybe i’m undervaluing miller.

  3. Yr Never Too Old For Balloons says:

was about to ask about ben this week vs j.allen when i was surprised to see j.allen one spot ahead at top 30 FP rankers, and rudy too j.allen 1 spot ahead of ben, you too. that’s ben at home too, obv SEA’s D FAR better than NYG’s is.

that’s hard to tell, if she had actual proof of much of anything he’d have had a criminal trial. having said that the NFL…..
      – zeke (she didn’t have enough proof of it going to criminal court trial, and the NFL’s own investigator said she wasn’t believable too, going off the same stuff the prosecutor did, BUT he still got suspended)

      – ty hill (DID have some ugly as shit proof against him but no suspension anyway, albeit he wasn’t charged in real life pretty sure)

pretty clear this stuff comes down to how GODdell thinks he’s being viewed publicly, and/or what the other owners think will lose them the most money. that or he rules based somewhat on how he views the owners, and with NE he used to help cover up kraft’s stuff (illegal practice tapes of other teams, an entire room of them NE had back just after belichick got there, was covered up by GODdell, they were friends back then), but then went nuts on NE for ballgate, so their relationship isn’t the same as it was 2 decades almost ago. GODdell previous to getting caught covering up the ray rice tape routinely covered this kind of stuff up for years.

14 team PPR keep 2 per year at non inflated draft rounds where the player was first obtained (unless a guy gets dropped and the next guy to grab him waits at least 10 days, then he’s a last rounder). i joined this league due to AB being a 4th rounder in it. also a rule that you can never keep a guy drafted and kept in the 1st 2 rounds. got a trade offer of my singletary + my 10th next year for d.montgomery (i have m.davis too) + 7th.
    QB (1): newton, jimmer G
RB (2): d-will, carson, (lost l.miller here too, drafted one full day before his injury, MF’er i hate even late august drafts), m.davis, thompson, gio B, singletary (could be a 8th round keeper)
WR (3) AB (4th rounder), JJSS (can NOT be kept), j.brown, sutton, c.davis (just obtained on the cheap)
TE (1): oj howard (was kept in last round this year), VD (reed might keep on being done and outside of one of the CIN guys, or DAL guys or dissly there ain’t nothing out there, v.green i guess if he blows up, herndon owned)
    IR (2): a.wilson

montgomery could be kept in the 3rd round, carson also, if both were kept the one would get to move to the 4th, NOT the 2nd. j.brown (10th).

I’m pulling the trigger for Monty and definitely stashing Guice

      • Mordacious Leavator says:
        (link)

other owner pulled it, either he’s the kind of twit that sends something then changes his mind in less than an hour or (more likely, hopefully) just didn’t want me to accept it right before gametime and he might miss out on starting somebody. i emailed him to figure that out, as i won’t ever trade talk with idiots that do the prior thing, it’s all kinds of annoying. i don’t know why exactly i was the one getting the better pick in that though. he’s likely either a BUF fanboy OR really really thinks CHI is going to jerk around montgomery for usage going forward. or just really really thinks CHI’s offense is going to suck. guice almost certainly wouldn’t be a keeper for me into next year (3rd round drafted here), as i already have carson in that spot, and guice (even if really good when he comes back) his injury history is pretty scary.

          Ugh. That sucks

          • Mordacious Leavator says:
            (link)

one thing, if he IS that kind of twit, i’m betting if singletary does the old 20 yard average dance (or even 5) per carry i’m sure i’d be able to just resend the same thing and i’d work. i’ll obviously try anyway, then be done with this twit (if he is that) if he nixes his own deal (assuming nothing changed, no injuries or whatnot to important parts of BUF’s offense). something got into his head and he’s probably still right on that cliff, one little push yada yada.

              MB says:

                (link)

well that just happened and i may have missed it it appears. maybe not, he could be a completely reasonable and smart person and was just worried with about 2.5 hours left till gametimes that i might do something like accept it with like 2 minutes till gametime and it’d screw him out of a starter or his best starter or something like that. not that i’d intentionally do that, but he doesn’t know that.

this is gross, and feels like being in nazi germany NOT as an actual nazi POS (albeit everybody DID have to pretend to be that to stay alive if you weren’t smart enough to just flee the scene) but just as somebody who didn’t like the neighbors for some other reason (let’s say they had 12 kids and keep you up all night or something); but man, as having much more shares of edelman/j.white/gordon i REALLY wouldn’t mind if some fascist source (say GODdell protecing the money interests of billionaires) whisks a.brown off to suspended concentration camp on simple suspicion of committing a crime (like he did with zeke), like in nazi germany the neighbors got suspected of being leftists or something. basically “wow wife, we’re complicit in horrible inequities such as informing on our annoying neighbors but man we sure are benefiting this time from them, as long as they don’t come for us later”.

    – so the rule to live by here is when living in fascist empires your enemies can be removed at any time easily but of course YOU are probably somebody’s enemy too. and if you mess with people’s NE receiver interests you too will be lumped in as an enemy. you don’t cut yr grass fast enough for somebody, suddenly you’re a socialist slime and need a good gasing. kids are too loud same thing. get accused of raping a woman who just happened to keep coming back for more after and it supposedly went on for years and she doesn’t have the kind of proof that works in criminal court get ready for the glue factory then too if you mess with your neighbors other NE receivers.

  32. Mr. A Knife says:
    (link)

12 team dynasty half PPR with receiving yards worth half less than rushing (15 per receiving yard for a point, 10 for rushing). 5 IR’s (and people not playing can be put in them, not just actual real life IR/PUP guys). no waivers in this unless player is dropped so this can be done right now. j.cook ain’t cutting it, so either i could drop him or somebody else for a TE:
    QB (1): wentz, allen
RB (1): AAron jones, mack, michel, drake, duke
WR (2): thielen, hilton, nuke, MT (NO), j.gordon
    TE(1): cook
    1 RB/WR flex
    1 WR/TE flex

so i can only play 2 RB per week. last week lost by benching mack for michel (or AAron), this week till wentz woke up i almost lost from benching AAron for mack. only duke and michel share byes. these are all in FA also for RB’s: samuels, hyde, AP, and almost all the good backups

TE available: dissly (even if he only had 1 TD today with 5 targets it’s looking good to me with cook), herndon, eifert and worse.

guessing dropping one of drake or duke is easy here for dissly or herndon? or even j.cook AND one of the RB’s for dissly AND herndon.
