i

So let me get this straight. The Chargers beat the Jets 31-0. The Dolphins beat the Chargers 37-0. So apparently by Monday Night Football calculations, we get something like this. I dare you to name ten worse games than this all year. You can’t! And just think… we get to watch these teams square off again this season! Ugh. The next time some Patriots fan tells you that their derp-fest of division has nothing to do with their success, show them last night’s game.

Dolphins – 16, Jets – 13

Ryan Tannehill – 25/35, 235 YDS, 1 INT and 4 CAR, 13 YDS. I have no doubt that Tannenhill is the Dolphins’ quarterback of the future… and he always will be.

Lamar Miller – 13 CAR, 56 YDS, 1 TD and 2 REC, 11 YDS. Miami was obviously so worried about the impressive aerial assault Geno Smith is capable of unleashing that they were unable to focus on the run.

Geno Smith – 7/13, 65 YDS, 1 INT and 4 CAR, 19 YDS. Geno Smith… the perfect quarterback, assuming you don’t let him do anything.

Chris Johnson – 17 CAR, 105 YDS. Chris Johnson. I remember when he was a thing.

Percy Harvin – 1 REC, 6 YDS and 6 CAR, 27 YDS. You got Geno Smith, a guy who can’t pass well, throwing to Harvin, a guy who can’t run routes well. Let’s see what happens.

Zach Sudfeld – 1 REC, 20 YDS. Zach Sudfeld. That tight end we all owned for one week in 2012…

    Hey Jay,

So does this year’s Jet/Giants combo make Jersey the Landfill of Sadness?

Side note, I’m out of my buddy league playoffs hunt (10 team PPR, ESPN defaults, which was terribly unlucky sporting Brady, Vereen, Bradshaw, Mathews, Julio, Cobb, Gronk, and Graham but faced the top scorers each week…), but take a look at my friend’s team which broke the 200 barrier this week (200.2):

    Brees (30.3)
    Miller (14.7)
    Bell (39.4)
    Megatron (37.6)
    Hopkins (44.8)
    Witten (1.8)
    Colston (10.6)
    Bills (17)

    Needless to say, we’re speechless.

    • Flowers misses his old glasses, but he's ok tho says:
      (link)

@Slob on my Cobb: help him out with his TE’s.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Slob on my Cobb: I thought Jersey was the Landfill of Sadness!

Shit team. And I love the Witten point total there. He should try to shore that area up…

      • Slob on my Cobb says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

Good man, it’s such a sad state. I’d just like to note for the record, that the Bills currently have 2 more wins than the rest of the teams which ‘play’ in NY.

Yeah, it’s one of those teams with one of those performances that make you question your manhood and fantasy finesse all at the same time (I mean, I’m 6-7 with the team I just showed you, granting I got Brady, Gronk, and Bradshaw after week 4 or so).

In other news, I’m playing spoiler and want to both help shore up a buddy’s team which can earn a spot over a terrible team which shouldn’t make it, and mine to make sure I beat that same team which shouldn’t make it. Gronk for Dez straight up. Full PPR, he has WR depth and I have Goose egg Graham for TE after the deal. Dez would pretty much be my Flex with Julio and Cobb, but he only has Owen Daniels for TE.

        Seem like a fun idea?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Slob on my Cobb: Yeah, I’m fine with it. Pretty fair at this point, but I like Dez’s side a bit more.

  2. Flowers misses his old glasses, but he's ok tho says:

man MIA’s coaching is awful. they gave miller the ball once in the 1st half, often throwing the ball badly 5 or more times a row.

  3. goodfold2 says:
    (link)

now pretty much in 3 way tie for 3rd best team (but with 8th seed, next year i’m seriously making or joining league(s) that all teams play each other each week, so 11 games per week, this shit is hard enough without watching inferior teams send you into ugly 1st round matchups vs 1 of the 2 teams actually better than yours). gonna go down with either walker or reed i guess. drop which of my players for Reed (and i’ll make a decision later in week as to which of them to play i guess). we play 2 RB/2 WR/ 1 flex/ 1 TE. currently i’ve been bouncing landry at flex over mathews since mathews had 2 bad matchups in a row last 2 weeks.
    ryan
    murray/ingram/mathews/ivory/sims/blount
    julio/gordon/landry/m.bryant/patterson
delanie (still the 6th best TE per game on season)
even with this being a 10 return yards per pt i’m thinking it’s patterson (jesus that guy makes t.austin’s stats look good, and we all know how stupid STL’s coaching makes him look (so much so i only feel sort of bad dropping him instead of Taliaferro in a 20 team dynasty elsewhere))

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@goodfold2: Yeah, Patterson is the safe drop there. I like the depth at WR too.

  4. Allan says:
    (link)

Drop john brown for any of stedmen bailey, greg jennings, or moncrief?

    • Allan says:
      (link)

      Standard non ppr.

    • Nimrod says:
      (link)

@Allan: I have the same 3 WR to choose from but in a PPR league. I would drop J. Cook. How do you rank them?

      • Nimrod says:
        (link)

        @Nimrod: At Jay

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Nimrod: Moncrief, Bailey, Jennings, but they are all close. I’d drop Cook for any of them.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Allan: I’m holding for a week there.

  5. Scott says:
    (link)

ESPN says that Denard Robinson’s earlier success was a mirage. What’s your take?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Scott: I like Denard. Some of his production could be labled as fluky, because it relied on a bunch of 2-yard runs and then a 15-yard run thrown in. I like his versatility, and I think he has a good, but not great ceiling. But that’s on an average team, not the Jags, which probably holds him back a bit. I love him as a bench piece right now, but he’s not the flex option he was just a month ago.

  6. ryanoger says:
    (link)

I got the #1 seed for the playoffs and a first week bye, however, should I snag anybody off the waiver this week?

Kenny Stills, Stedman Bailey….or handcuff a guy like Juwan or Joseph Randle?

My defense situation for week 15 is Bills @ home against Green Bay–should I look to add one of the following for week 15 instead:

    Baltimore @ home against Jags
TENN @ home against the Jets
KC @ home against the Raiders
NE @ home against the Dolphins

Question is then who to drop if I make an add?

    QB- A Rodgers
WR-Jordy, Mike Evans, Keenan, Jordan Matthews, Percy
RB- DeMarco, Tre Mason, Denard, Latavius, Sims
    TE-A Gates and Kelce
    K-Gostkowski
    DEF-Bills

10 team .5 PPR keeper league (can keep as many as 7 guys)

    thanks jay!

    best,
    Ryan

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@ryanoger: I’d get the Dolphins instead of Bills, and probably pick up Stills for Percy. The Jets team is going down. (For Kelce is fine too.)

      • ryanoger says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

Dolphins? Did you mean pick up TENN for week 15?

          • ryanoger says:
            (link)

            @Jay:

            Thanks man!

  7. Steve Stevenson says:
    (link)

Standard scoring, 5pt bonus at 100yds, start 2RB, 3WR, no flex:

    1) We can only roster 6RB. My #1 is Lynch, #6 is Vereen. Go ahead and drop Vereen, who I don’t see starting, for Turbin? What about for someone else’s handcuff, like J. Randle, Hyde or Blue?
    2) I have room on my roster for 1 more WR. Roddy is a normal starter for me. Should I add Douglas over upside guys like Moncrief and Bailey? Seems like this is the rare case where handcuffing a WR may make sense.
    3) We can roster 2QB. Peyton is my starter, so backup doesn’t really matter, except to keep away from potential opponents. Given that, would you drop my backup Cam for Sanchez or Manziel?
    4) Week 15 DST, you like STL vAri or KC vOak?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Steve Stevenson: 1- I’d probably go for Blue there. But holding is okay. They are all around the same tier.

2- I’d rather have Moncrief there.

      3- Hold on Cam.

I like the Rams there… but passing up on the Chiefs is really hard. Probably Chiefs.

      • A Wesley Snipes Life says:

@Jay: OAK just made STL D look like last year’s CAR, follow the OAK team with yr D’s like that hotdog vendor did with Homer in that episode
Marge: “what,do you just follow my husband around?”
Hot Dog Vendor Guy: ” Lady, he’s putting my kids through college”

  8. Steve Stevenson says:

Dynasty, which SEA RB are you buying more as the starter next year, Michael or Turbin?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Steve Stevenson: I think Turbin will get the first crack, but I’d rather keep Michael for the ceiling.

  9. Wacha Wacha says:
    (link)

Hey Jay! I clinched a bye first round so I am using this weeks waiver wire to prepare for week 15…

1.Could you rank the top 3 FA QBs most likely to make a start week 15?
Vick, Manziel, Locker, RGIII, A Davis or any other QB who is not currently starting?

Which D do you like best week 15?
    Panthers vs Bucs
    Patriots vs MIA
    Ten vs Jets
    [email protected] Ten

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Wacha Wacha: I’d want Manziel there. I like the Patriots defense there the best.

  10. Charles says:
    (link)

Jay I started out 1-5 this year and I made the playoffs at 7-6. What a year. I don’t trust Michael Floyd in my WR3 spot. Who should I pick up from the waivers to start over Floyd? Davante Adams, Dante Moncrief, Stedman Bailey or Nate Washington?

    NON PPR

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Charles: Moncrief… but sadly, I still think Floyd might be your best option there.

  11. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

Trying to set up my Defenses for the Playoffs, which are just Weeks 15 and 16 for me. I currently have STL who basically won my week last week for me. They play Arizona at home in Week 15 on a short week, which isn’t a terrible matchup. And then they play the Giants in Week 16. Also available to me is Baltimore for Week 15 who plays JAX or KC who plays OAK. And in Week 16 Buffalo is available @ OAK, GB @ TB, TEN @ JAX, NE @ NYJ.

I can move some players around and snag one for Week 15 and 16, if need be. What’s your move? Or do I stick it out with STL?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Wilsonian: I’d stick with STL there.

  12. Mike says:
    (link)

    Hi,

So…I finished first in my 14 team league at 12-1. Awesome season great team, but I’m nervous heading into playoffs mainly because of my qb situation.

This week who should I start?

    Rivers vs. NE
    Sanchez vs. SEA
Eli Manning (he’s on waivers-I’d pick him up) vs. TEN

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Mike: Probably Rivers.

  13. BTDRNKS says:
    (link)

Sorry Jay, regardless of what division the Pats play in, they are still a good football team, unlike say, the Dolts?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@BTDRNKS: Never said they aren’t a good football team.

  14. Stanman says:
    (link)

I have Rodgers as my qb and I don’t really see any reason for him to get injured, but he’s a key reason as to why my team is in the playoffs so I don’t want some freak injury to leave me totally debilitated. Right now Manziel, Fitzpatrick, and orton are on the waiver wire. Are any of them worth a pickup for backup qb? Should I just pick up Matt Flynn instead?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Stanman: Probably just Flynn if you have a spot. Otherwise, I’m not too worried.

  15. Eric says:
    (link)

    Hi Jay,

Have Cam and Kaep in my 10-tm non-PPR. Picked up Eli and started him last week.

Should I start Cam (or Kaep) this week, or should I put in a claim for Ryan Fitzpatrick?

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Eric: Probably Cam.

  16. Eric says:
    (link)

And also, who should I drop out of those 3?
    Thanks again!

  17. J-MoneyIV says:

    16 Team, .5 PPR

    QB: Eli
    RB: L Bell
    WR: Cobb
    TE: Rivera
    WR/TE: Landry
    WR/RB/TE: Mason
    K: Bailey
    DST: Miami
BN: L Miller, Wayne, D Allen, Colts D

Drop Wayne for any of the following? This would be for depth for my flex spots.
Wright, S Bailey, Moncrief, M Lee, D Adams

    Thanks in advance!

  18. Dom B says:
    (link)

So I have Charles Sims and I don’t see him overtaking Doug Martin would you drop him for Steven Jackson or Johnathan Stewart

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@Dom B: Eh, tough to say. Stewart maybe. Honestly, I’d probably just hold there.

Hey jay! I made it to the playoffs ; for waiver this week seeing which way you’d go with priority #1 for the waiver; I was thinking jordan Reed as first priority ; I don’t necessarily need Reed, yeah he’ll be great depth & plus I think if I don’t he’ll be gone; here are the te’s of the 6 playoff teams (10 team league)

#1 seed has Jimmy Graham & larry donnel

    # 2 seed has greg Olsen

#3 seed has kyle Rudolph, jordan Cameron & Vernon Davis (all those are very iffy)

#4 seed has gronk & Delanie walker

    # 5 seed (me) have coby Fleener & Travis kelce

    # 6 seed has julius Thomas & Andrew Quarless

Or next on the list looking at a d/st; here are who’s available

    – Eagles home Vs seahawks

    – pats @ San diego

    – Ravens @ Miami

    – Redskins home vs Rams

    – saints home vs panthers

I’d be dropping Dolphins D here

Lastly to me kickers arent a big priority ; but who would you rather have ; my justin tucker or add Mason crosby or Matt bryant instead?

Thanks man hope you had a great thanksgiving !

        I forgot to mention these D’s are also available ;

Titans Who face eli & Giants may be w/o jennings (jags d had a field day vs g men last week)

        Jets @ minnesota

Or do you still like dolphins? I was just worried about flacco , smith (s), Forsett & co putting points up

This is the rnd 1 of the playoffs & my team is already banged up; lol rashad Jennings is questionable & missed today’s practice, demaryius is questionable due to ankle injury suffered in practice , Crowell is questionable & dealing with hip injury.

Now still a few days away Til sun , If crow & jennings are inactive who are my rb1 & rb2? My other RB’s are dan Herron, Gio bernard , jeremy hill, asiata & Davonte Freeman

My WR 1 is Demaryius but I’m going to keep an eye on his ankle

        Wr2 is odell beckham

Wr3 is a toss up between kenny stills & Kelvin Benjamin

Flex is whoever I don’t play at RB plus whoever I don’t play at wr3, on my bench I also have martivis bryant & Marqise Lee.

        Keep or drop martivis bryant?

Thinking of dropping bryant for one of these what do you think?

Montee ball, Marion Grice (my opponent has Grice), stephan taylor , Allen hurns, wheaton, eddie royal, wes Welker or latimer (I was thinking latimer or Welker for insurance for demaryius)

        Thanks again

        • Jay

          Jay says:
