Week 16 DraftKings Main Slate – Optimal Lineup Plays

Week 15 was definitely more of a down week as my DraftKings Main Slate lineups did not far very well for me in my contests. Bijan hurt me as much as he likely hurt all the season-long players who may have been knocked out of the playoffs. UGH! The lineups where I squeezed Kupp CMC with Bijan had Case Keenum in them, so they didn’t hit either. Week 16 will also be missing half of the teams in the league with a Thursday night, two Saturday, one Sunday night, and three Monday night games.

There are some good lower-priced QB options this week, and the highest I am going is Justin Fields at $7100. Running back has some good mid to lower-priced options. Do we dare go back to the well with Bijan? Another good matchup could be a good contrarian play. WR I like higher to mid-priced options such as DJ Moore, Mike Evans, and DK Metcalf. The TE position may be worth paying up for this week.

QB
Justin Fields $7100 (vs. ARI) – My favorite QB play this week is Justin Fields. He gets the Cardinals’ defense at home. These next few games are very important for Fields’ future, whether it be staying in Chicago or auditioning for other teams.
If he plays Trevor Lawrence $6600 (@ TB) – It doesn’t look promising as he still wasn’t practicing as of the Thursday practice reports. But if he is able to clear protocol, he gets the disastrous Bucs defense.
Baker Mayfield $6000 (vs. JAX) – Who saw 381 yards with four passing TDs coming at Lambeau? I certainly did not. Now he gets a great matchup at home. He will likely be chalk this week, but his price is too good to pass up.
Joe Flacco $5500 (@ HOU) – If you follow the Sunday show and other articles on the page, you would think Joe Flacco was the next coming around here. All kidding aside, he is playing great football right now. He also has two reliable passing game options to help him produce.
Geno Smith $5800 (@ TEN) – If Geno returns to the lineup, he returns to a great matchup. The Titans’ defense has been a heavy pass-funnel defense all season and is facing some injuries, too.
Nick Mullens $5300 (vs. DET) – Nick Mullens isn’t afraid to throw the ball around the yard. He will throw some interceptions, but he also will put up yards. He has Jefferson, Hockenson, and Addison at his disposal in a setting where they may be chasing points.

Contrarian Play: Bijan Robinson $6300 (vs. IND) – Bijan burned a lot of people last week, I’m sure. Both in DFS and season-long. He has another great matchup at home. Let’s just hope Arthur Smith gives us a Christmas miracle in touches for Bijan!
Kenneth Walker $6200 (@ TEN) – As I mentioned with Geno, the Titans’ defense is not very healthy. Kenneth Walker looks like he is finally getting healthy as he ran well MNF against the Eagles top ranked run defense. Look for the Seahawks to ride Walker in Week 16.
Chuba Hubbard $5700 (vs. GB) – The Packers do not defend opposing RBs very well and haven’t all season. Rachaad White went for almost 140 yards with a TD against the Packers in Week 15.
Aaron Jones $6400 (@ CAR) – Aaron Jones looked pretty good in his return Week 15. Now, he gets the Panthers defense.
Breece Hall $6100 (vs. WAS) – Zach Wilson is likely out Week 16. If the Jets are smart they will feed Breece Hall against the lowly Commanders defense.
Roschon Johnson $4800, D’Onta Foreman $4700 (vs. ARI) – I wish we had clarity on how the breakdown of touches would go, but both are in a great spot. D’Onta Foreman has been the early down hammer and goal line back, but I’m not sure if we saw a changing of the guard last week. Roschon is the preferred passing-down option, but the Bears could be looking to 2024 and want an extended look.
WR
Amon-Ra St. Brown $8200 (@ MIN) – The Lions get to play indoors in Week 16 in Minnesota. ARSB had a blow-up in Week 15, and there is no reason he can’t repeat it against the Vikings. The Vikings have a solid defense, but their secondary is the weakest link.
Justin Jefferson $8100 (vs. DET) – Jefferson looked good last week, going 7/84/0 on 10 targets. The Lions’ secondary is beatable.
Mike Evans $7600 (vs. JAX) – Mike Evans has been a monster this season. He gets a very injured Jaguars secondary in Week 16.
DJ Moore $6900 (vs. ARI) – DJ Moore had one of his worst games with Justin Fields in Week 15 in a very difficult matchup. The matchup in Week 16 is not difficult. He gets the Cardinals at home.
DK Metcalf $6700 (@ TEN) – DK Metcalf’s performance Monday was looking bleak until the final game-winning drive. He gets another plus matchup and the likely return of Geno Smith.
Curtis Samuel $4800 (@ NYJ) – Samuel will avoid Sauce Gardner in the slot. With McLaurin likely being locked up, Samuel should be a focal point of the offense.
GPP/Lineup Filler/Dart-Throws: Jameson Williams $3700 (@ MIN), Jonathan Mingo $3600 (vs. GB), Treylon Burks $3100
TE
Trey McBride $5700 (@ CHI) – The Bears rank 27th against TEs. McBride posted a 10/102/0 line against the 49ers top-ranked defense. He is clearly Kyler’s go-to target, and Hollywood Brown is injured, too.
Evan Engram $5400 (@ TB) – Engram is useable with or without Trevor Lawrence. CJ Beathard will likely be relying upon Engram as his safety valve in a great matchup.
David Njoku $5300 (@ HOU) – Who knew it would take Joe Flacco to unlock David Njoku! This is the potential that many have seen in Njoku all along. He is being heavily targeted and putting up numbers.
Cade Otton $3300 (vs. JAX) – The Jaguars rank 23rd vs. opposing TEs. Baker is playing great football. This is a good option if you are paying down.
Chig Okonkwo $3100 (vs. SEA) – Okonkwo has a good matchup and has a rapport with Ryan Tannehill.
D/ST
Browns $3400 (@ HOU) – CJ Stroud is likely to be out Week 16. The Browns’ stout defense will get to face Case Keenum.
Jets $3100 (vs. WAS) – The Jets get the Commanders at home. Their defense could be on the field more if the offense struggles to move the ball. But that defense is too talented for Sam Howell and the Commanders’ offense.
Bears $2800 (vs. ARI) – The Bears have quietly been a top defense since acquiring Montez Sweat. A West Coast team is coming to the East Coast in the cold weather.
If you can afford them, Packers $3900 (@ CAR) – The Packers face the Panthers and Bryce Young this week.
