The QB well-spring dries up a little in 2022. Some QB-needy teams will undoubtedly force the issue and take some of these players early leaving better players at other positions for more savvy operators. They shouldn’t. I did not notice any transcendent talents available this year. No player in this year’s class has the success of Joe Burrow or the eye-popping talent of Justin Herbert. That’s not to say this crop is bereft of talent. A handful of these players may have what it takes to captain an NFL franchise, but I do not plan to use a 1st round pick on any of them in my Dynasty League Drafts. If you are in a 15+ team dynasty league, this would be a draft to pick up a solid backup QB for those bye weeks and of course the dreaded QB injury. Let’s take a closer look at the QBs available in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Team: New York Giants
New Play-Caller: Brian Daboll
Scheme: Erhardt-Perkins
Historical Overview
Brian Daboll is now best known for his 4-year stint as Bills OC where he oversaw the rise of Josh Allen. Things didn’t start off so great as the Bills’ offense in Allen and Daboll’s first season in 2018 was 30th in both yards and points. This is clearly a distant memory as the Bills have been top 5 in both categories each of the last 2 seasons. However, Daboll’s story isn’t just about his time in Buffalo. Prior to his time with the Bills, Daboll coached for 11 years under Bill Belichick in New England and was an OC for 4 years for 3 teams. These seasons will play an interictal part in how we view the potential of the New York Giants offense in 2022 and beyond.
In this article, we will break down the impact the move to the new coaching staff from the previous regime will have on each position. Later we will use this information to help us determine if the fantasy-relevant player can offer value at their current ADP.

About this time a year ago, many experts thought the 2022 draft class might be a little weak. Their reasoning seemed sound. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCAA adjusted its player eligibility rules allowing all players an extra season to play sports. Some thought the new Name Image Likeness (NIL) rules which allow an amateur player to profit from the commercial use of their, well Name Image or Likeness. So players get paid to stay in college. But neither cash nor the enticing extra senior season of being the man on campus was enough to stifle 2022. This class is loaded with depth. It lacks some of the over-the-top talents like Najee Harris and Ja’Marr Chase, but it doesn’t lack depth featuring many talented players who will almost certainly carve out significant roles early in their professional careers. The rankings of these players offer little more than a guide. I have done my best, but without the benefit of knowing their teams, rankings are an inexact science. This process is useful to get to know the new crop of talent growing our game.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Early in the morning, before the rest of the country is awake, we find a man. A man with a bag of footballs. He lines up his receivers and they go through drills and patterns and routes over and over again. They practice from early in the morning until late at night, with only the […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?In my 1-25 rankings post I recommended you not roster more than four tight ends. With this group of players, I look to fill out bench spots. You should be able to nab a starter to fill in on a bye week and a longshot high-upside player to dream on. Dreamers at this position find themselves among the top 10 if they materialize, so it is worth your time to take a shot on a profile you like. Next week, I’ll be on to the 2022 draft class, so let us button up these rankings for now.
Please, blog, may I have some more?America’s team hasn’t been America’s champion (or anyone else in the world’s champion) going on 27 years now. In fact, they have won only three playoff games in the last 25 years. That’s one less than the Houston Texans, and four less than the New York Jets if you’re keeping count. It certainly isn’t for […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? It’s been a busy two weeks in Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers signed a three-year gazillion-dollar contract, Davante Adams has been traded to Las Vegas, and Big Ernie the cheese churner came out of retirement. What does it all mean? Will the stink of the cheese be greater than ever in Green Bay this season? Not […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Tight End is an interesting position in Fantasy Football. With the game’s predilection for the passing, one might think that all pass-catchers (Tight Ends included) would have a great deal of appeal for managers of fantasy football teams, but they haven’t. Many of these players will likely accrue aroudn500 yards receiving and five touchdowns and […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?We have reached the ocean floor of our wide receiver ranking. It is dark, empty, and bleak down here. There are some treasures to be found on the sea bed but you are more likely to find ghosts and eerie creatures. Many of these receivers are former 1st and 2nd round draft picks who never […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? It’s odd to say that a team that finished 8-9 on the season and tied for last place in their division was lucky. But that’s exactly what the Browns were in 2021. In fact, it’s about the luckiest 8-9 record you might ever see. Of their eight wins, five of them were one-score affairs. I […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Eggs and bacon. Cookies and milk. Seahawks and Russell Wilson. Three pairs that will forever go down in the annals of history as inseparable pairs. Or so we thought! Until the news broke that Russell Wilson had invaded Russia. Wait, I got my news stories crossed up. I write for the Wall Street Journal in […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Think back to eleven months ago when it was NFL Draft SZN and the Cincinnati Bengals had the fifth pick in the 2021 draft. They just finished a 2020 season where they went 4-11-1 and lost their prized rookie quarterback, Joe Burrow, to an ACL injury. Before Burrow went down, stud rookie wide receiver Tee […]
