ADP Risers/Fallers: Final Edition

In the final edition of ADP Risers/Fallers, I’m a buyer. I’m buying a lot. I feel like Jerry Jones (save for Zeke). The fantasy community has done a nice job of analyzing news stories and making appropriate adjustments to their draft boards.

But, as always, there are some things that the fantasy community seems to really like that I’m just not feeling. I’ll share these with you in the hope that during your drafts, most just DAYS away (!!!), you follow along and avoid some guys that shouldn’t have risen as well as scoop up some guys that didn’t deserve to fall.

Fantasy Football: Boof’s Batmen

One of my favorite movie scenes is an obscure moment in Batman (1989) where Grissom is talking to his associate Jack Napier (pre Joker transformation). They are in a deserted office and Grissom, Napier’s boss, is telling him about why he was chosen for an important job. Grissom grips him by the shoulders and hisses “you’re my…numbah one…guuyyy”. It’s both creepy and awesome. I feel like I am telling this to each and every player on a weekly basis as I slide them into my lineup.

Since I am in an all time high 18 fantasy football leagues this year, I have a lot of guys. But only a select few have the honor of being so cherished by me that I have invested heavily. These leagues range from a long running standard redraft to startup 2 QB superflex PPR devy league and everything in between. Because of this, some draft strategies have been different than others, but overall I clearly have some soft spots for certain players. If you like reading about other people’s fake football teams, proceed!

Taking An Early Look At Week 1

After an offseason and preseason that seemed to have lasted forever, the 2019 NFL Season will kickoff in a week between Chicago and Green Bay. Seven days. That’s all we have left before we can sit back, relax, and enjoy some football that actually has meaning.

It’s been a productive summer at Razzball, and while we’ve covered almost every topic in regards to draft strategy and draft prep, it’s time to turn our attention to Week 1 of the NFL season. I’ll be back this year covering who to start, and who to sit for the upcoming weeks, so as a primer to that series, let’s take an early look at Week 1.

Data Domination 2019: Week One Part I

For my weekly article during the 2019 season I’ll be presenting statistics, data, and charting information that I’ve extracted that is relevant for the upcoming slate of games. My goal is that this information gives readers a new piece of the puzzle for the week that they may have been missing. I was excited to present the idea to our glorious leader MB for many reasons, but the greatest being that it is universally useful information. Readers who play season long fantasy, DFS, simply bets games, or play in office pools should be able to use the information to confirm plays that they were already considering, use it as an opportunity to dig deeper, or challenge my evaluation of the information. During the season I will present a top 10, but for week 1 I thought it would be a good chance to provide a piece for every game, and honestly, I just can’t stop thinking about football being back. Today we dive into opening night and the early Sunday slate.

Between everything that I have written this preseason and all of the other great stuff that our writers have put together, I’m running out of angles to take when approaching a post. So, I guess this post will be about my drafts! Hooray for you! No, I don’t want to go round by round with you about the 8 or so drafts that I’ve taken part in over the past couple of weeks, I just want to update you on where my mind is at over the past month.

As my draft season is coming to a close, my mind has changed on a few players as the preseason approach evolves. Some players that I didn’t like in July have a more digestible ADP in August and I can find a lot of upside.

Using Strength-Of-Schedule To Identify 3 TE Streamers

While many different fantasy owners employ different drafting strategies when selecting tight ends, some have found success punting on the position, and streaming TE’s for the first few weeks of the season, in hopes to uncover a diamond in the rough. It worked last year, as Eric Ebron was the #1 TE in fantasy through the first 6 weeks of the season, and Jared Cook wasn’t far behind.

Below, I’ve compiled a short list of a few candidates who are either selected in the last few rounds of the draft, or undrafted in 10-team leagues, and have very favorable schedules, in hopes to become a quality streaming option for the first few weeks of the 2019 season.

Fantasy Football: Drafting In Your Home League

Most Razzball readers are experienced fantasy football players. We multiple leagues, multiple formats, spend countless time researching players, following ADP trends, and plugged in to the NFL news room. Regardless of how many ‘expert’ OR industry leagues we are in, nothing compares to the level of competition in famous “Home Leagues.”

Home leagues are an avenue for buddies from college to stay in touch, your family and neighborhood league, or your girlfriend/boyfriends work league that your significant other hyped you as “really good at fantasy football player” and now here you are signed up for more leagues than you want to admit to your significant other. This is where we cut our teeth playing fantasy football, but now these are the leagues that help us sharpen our tools. Here are couple of do’s and dont’s that will help you dominate on draft day…

ADP Royal Rumble V! – Anderson, Westbrook, Fuller

ADP Royal Rumble V will feature a trio of WR3s: Robby Anderson, Dede Westbrook and Will Fuller. With an overall ADP separated by 5 picks, choosing from this group is a situation drafters are finding themselves in often. At this point in the draft you should be shooting for full upside, because even if you miss, you’re no worse just streaming and mining the waiver wire.
