  1. Steve Stevenson says:
    (link)

Bye this week. For wks 15-16, who should my backup QB be: Cam (vTB, vCle) or Sanchez (vDal, @Was)? 5pt bonus at 300pass/100rush.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Steve Stevenson: Cam. He usually finishes strong, and I love that TB match-up.

  2. Nick says:
    (link)

Hey Jay, am I crazy in a non-ppr league to play Sanu over Keenan Allen? I have a really bad feeling about Allen v. Revis (Patriots know Allen is Rivers favorite target)…In a crucial matchup to seal the deal on the #1 seed, what do I do?

Ive gone to each of the razzballers & got 3 for Allen 1 for Sanu…also checked out CBS fantasy & they have Allen as ‘bust’ & Sanu as a ‘start em’, ughhhh

    http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasyfootball/story/24863287/week-14-start-em-and-sit-em

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: It’s justified, but I’m still going with Allen. He’ll be targeted and has been on the last month.

  3. Jason Morgan says:
    (link)

Any chance Peterson plays a game this season?

      • Jason Morgan says:
        (link)

@Jay: Would you drop Sims or Grice to stash Peterson? I could drop Houston DST as well as I have a bye this week and don’t think they are a good option for weeks 15 or 16.

  4. dtrtliedowns says:
    (link)

Have Romo and Bryant… Start witten or Donnell? Standard scoring league and nothing but fodder on waiver wire

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@dtrtliedowns: Witten by a hair, but they are right next to each other. Coin flip right now.

  5. Jason Morgan says:
    (link)

Given the current players statuses and their final opponents (week 15 and 16), can you rank the following RBs for the rest of the season.

    Ellington (injured?): @STL, SEA
    Crowell (Injured?): CIN, @CAR
    Mason: ARI, NYG
    Joique: MIN, @CHI
    Jennings (Injured?): WAS, @STL

Basically I am trying to line up the best possible match ups for weeks 15 and 16 as this week really doesn’t matter much to me.

Here’s how I see it. Joique has the best week 15 matchup and Mason has the best week 16 matchup, but can I really rank them higher than Ellington and Jennings? More importantly, could I consider dropping Ellington and/or Jennings for Bell and/or Mason to give myself the better statistical chances in week 15 and 16? Ellington hasn’t done squat since week 9. And where does Crowell fit into this mess?

I have Forte who I will be starting regardless. With Antonio Brown, Josh Gordon and Julio Jones filling up my WR and Flex spots, I only need to start one other RB each week. Thoughts? Thanks!

  6. Lopes says:
    (link)

Little flex issue, in a standard league playoffs i need to choose between Mike Evans, Brandon Lafell, or Daniel Herron for my flex. Rankings say Herron but what do gut feelings say?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Lopes: Evans if you want the pie in the sky. Herron if you’re wanting a safer option.

      • Lopes says:
        (link)

@Jay: How about playing heron over gio Bernard?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Lopes: I might do that, sure.

  7. Beats by Ray says:
    (link)

I have Antonio Brown, B. Marshall, ODJ, and Josh Gordon, definitely playing Brown and ODJ but who would you start between Gordon and Marshall? Also pick one RB to start between Ellington, Boom, or J. Stewart… thanks Jay

      • Beats by Ray says:
        (link)

@Jay: so you’re saying Ellington will be effective enough even without practicing and still hurtin?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Beats by Ray: I’m okay with it, barring something changing before Sunday.

  8. Mike says:
    (link)

I was looking to start Herron over Jeremy hill…concerned with split w Bernard?
    Why Hill over Herron??
    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mike: Hill has been getting more carries, and I think right now, he’s the better back than Bernard.

  9. STL says:
    (link)

Stuck in the same situation as last week – who do you Bench out of these four? PPR. J-FOH is leaning towards Gordon. I was thinking Cobb myself.

    Cobb
    Jeffery
    Beckham Jr.
    Gordon

Only have two WR and FLEX to fill. Who would you sit?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @STL: Cobb.

  10. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

Not worrying about the Playoffs until next week, so I’m trying to get the bench locked up. Would you dump Vereen for FJax? I also have L.Murray, but I want to see how they use him before I go kicking him to the curb.

    0.5 PPR – 3 point bonus at 85 yards rec/100 yards rush – 6 point bonus at 135 yards rec/150 yards rush

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Wilsonian: I’d rather have Vereen on my bench. As depressing as that sounds.

      • Wilsonian says:
        (link)

        @Jay: sad trombone…

  11. Charles says:
    (link)

Jay thanks for your weekly rankings. I’m in a 14 team standard league in our first week of playoffs. I have to choose between Michael Floyd, Devante Adams or Dante Moncrief to start as my WR3. Who gets the call?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Charles: Leaning Floyd there.

  12. James says:
    (link)

    Hey Jay

    First week playoffs!!!

    PPR.

    MY Team Opponent Tean

    Rivers (Dalton?) P. Manning
    L.Bell Anderson
    Ingram Forsett
    D.Thomas Green
    J.Jones A.Johnson
    Donnell Miller
    J.Gordon Lafell
    Matthews Watkins
    St. Louis (minn?) Phili

    2 questions:
    1. Except for QB, I think my team is better or a wash at the other positions. Would you play Dalton over Rivers to cancel out his AJ Green from having a monster game against me? The matchup also favors Dalton i think. Thoughts?

    2. St louis defense or Minnesota. Obviously going against the Jets is a good thing but last week they ran so much that sacks and interceptions are limited i think?

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@James: I would not start Dalton over him. 2. Going Rams there.

  13. Hi Jay –

Good luck this week in your playoffs. I’m in quarterfinals with a tough match-up.

Settings: deep 14 team, PPR, IDP league. Big $ and everyone knows their stuff.

    Offensive Scoring: 1 pt/ reception. 1 pt/ 10 yds rushing. 1 pt/ 15 yds receiving. 6pts/ TD

Need 2 out of these 5 options to fill 2 FLEX spots:
    Keenan Allen v NE
    Golden Tate vs TB
    Brandon LaFell @ SD
    Kelvin Benjamin @ NO
    Dan Herron @ CLE

My Initial Leans: Keenan Allen and Golden Tate.

My Take: Im destined to get this wrong, as this has been a “good”/ annoying I ssue the last few weeks. Last week, rolled Keenan and LaFell (got it right). As a die hard Chargers fan, trying to be objective and not think with my heart. Keenan has been getting mad looks last month, but now likely gets Revis Island in what is probably a close 27-24 type game. I also tend to think it might be wet given the rain we’ve had in SoCal this week. So it could be dink and dunk, short underneath routes for Keenan all day… Been fading Kelvin the last few weeks cause Cam sucks, he’s inaccurate and weather has been a factor. This week, in the dome @ NO, likely playing from behind. However, Cam does target the shit outta Benjamin, especially in red zone. So there’s that… Think I’ve convinced myself to bench LaFell vs Bolts. Bolts Secondary has been good, and I feel this is a Gronk and Edleman type affair given my guys are also pretty good at stopping power run. Seems odd to write that cause Chargers have never really had a good secondary in quite some time. Moreover, it’s bad juju to start your fantasy guys against your fav team, right?… Golden Tate, while now second fiddle to CJ, still has a plus matchup versus a vulnerable TB secondary and is weather proof as the game is in DET. Stafford looked good last week and I can easily see a 7/75 type game outta him this week. I think his floor is actually the best of my options…. Herron has been planted on my bench the last 3 weeks, but is intriguing cause Richardson is junk, weather will likely be a factor in CLE and they were recently gashed by several mediocre RB (blue from HOU). I also start Luck, so that’s a bit of a hedge too…

Would welcome your quick take and thoughts here. Appreciate it…

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@El Burro: I think you still have to go with your big guns. Allen and Tate are the solid choices here.

      • @Jay:

        Thanks, Jay

Appreciate it. That’s what my gut tells me as well. Completely over-thinking it, but like your directness here. Helps.

  14. HalotiNaMore says:
    (link)

Hey Jay! need some advice…thanks man

    1) Flex spot .5 ppr: Woods, Mike Floyd, Bush or Moncrief ?

    2) better kicker this week, Bailey at Chic or Tucker at Miami ?

    3) RB2 spot 1 pt ppr: Gio, Fred J or R Mathews?

    4) TE spot 1 pt ppr: Gates or Reed ?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @HalotiNaMore: 1 – Floyd, 2- Tucker, 3- Mathews, 4- Gates.

  15. Sherman Stick says:
    (link)

Crunch time – here we go. QB Flex PPR league.

    1. You’re high on Lamar Miller this week. Does the loss of Ngata hurt the Ravens run D that much considering how good they have been all year? And is the return of Reggie Bush why you’re down on Joique Bell consdering the cake matchup against Tampa?

    2. Your thoughts on Keenan Allen out on Revis island. Revis has been beast mode this year on intermediate length routes, which Allen seems to only run (seriously, has he caught a pass that’s traveled more than 20 yards in the air?). Not sure I have anyone better to start over him considering what Allen has done last few weeks but afraid I’m going to get a single digit output from him in the playoffs and screw my season.

    3. Orton or McCown at Flex?

    Thanks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Sherman Stick: It does a bit. Yeah, I think they share more time. I think Allen will be targeted, and Rivers has done okay against Revis. And McCown.

  16. Tom says:
    (link)

Hey Jay thanks to the help from Razzball I’m in first place in my league. My question is I have KC defense for week 15 vs Oakland. Should I pick up Cleveland vs Carolina week 16. That is all that’s out there. Your thoughts

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Tom: Congrats and good luck! Yeah, I like Cleveland Match-up.

  17. HalotiNaMore says:
    (link)

also, ROS for the playoffs, S Bailey or Terrance Williams 1 pt prr?

  18. Exactly says:
    (link)

Kelce or Rudolph – who has higher floor?

Both have good matchups, but Kelce has been disappointing over last few weeks and at least Rudolph saw the endzone and Jets have completely given up.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Exactly: I think Kelce does.

    • Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey says:
      (link)

@Exactly: it’s from rudolph’s low targets and bridgewater can get much worse than smith (hard for anybody to do that really, but he has).

  19. TOGMAN says:
    (link)

    PPR – Need 1 WR, 2 RB, 1 WR/RB

    Maclin vs SEA
    Allen vs NE
    LaFell @ SD

    Hill vs PIT
    Bernard vs PIT
    F-Jax @ DEN

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @TOGMAN: Maclin, Hill, Bernard, Allen.

  20. FillyP says:
    (link)

Yo. Would you start Jordan Matthews (vs. SEA) or Kendall Wright (vs. NYG) as a WR3 ? Feel like Wright is the “safer” play, especially with Hunter out. Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @FillyP: Yeah, going Wright there.

  21. royce! says:
    (link)

First week of the playoffs…I think w Brady, Josh Gordon, AJ Green, and Le’Veon Bell, I have a pretty reliable foundation, so I can be more risky with my flex spot. Considering that, which would you play?: Kelvin Benjamin, Kenny Stills, Jeremy Hill, or Lamar Miller?

    Thanks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@royce!: Leaning Stills in that case.

  22. Khen says:
    (link)

I’m having a tough time with my Flex which is between J. Hill and R. Matthews, I feel like Hill is more upside but Matthews has a higher floor. Do you think you’re Chargers try to keep Brady on the sidelines and run the ball a lot?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Khen: Yeah, I think the run game is going to be a big part of that offense. I’d go Mathews.

  23. Robert says:
    (link)

Yo J- My RBs are Mason, Fred Jackson,Andre Williams, Stewart. If Jennings is ruled out would you play Jennings vs the Titans? Also…would you play Charles Johnson vs Jets or Mike Evans vs DET? Thanks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Robert: I’d do Evans, and that’s okay on Jennings.

  24. Senor, need some advice, I’ve got two questions. This is a .5 PPR league:

    1. WR – I have Dez, Gordon, Jeffrey and Benjamin. Need to start two WRs of course and due to lack of RBs, one at flex. Jeffrey seems banged up and plays tonight. Which 3 would you go with?

    2. RB – I have Miller, Blount, Andre Williams and Vereen. Which two would you recommend?

As always, thanks for the advice!
    Timbo Slice

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Timbo Slice: 1, I’d go Dez and Gordon. 2. I’d go Miller and Williams (if he starts).

      • Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey says:
        (link)

@Jay: guessing vereen if he doesn’t start.

  25. Crazy old guy babbling in the corner says:
    (link)

I see you have Brandon Marshall ranked slightly over Kenny Stills… I’ve got both, and just have have a hard time trusting/starting Marshall anymore. Would .5 PPR change that ranking any, or you still start Marshall over Stills?

  26. rainking99 says:
    (link)

I need to pick a WR2 and RB2 and Flex (standard scoring)

    Roddy @ GB
    Evans @ DET
    Miller vs BALT
    McKinnon vs NYJ
    Herron @ CLE
    Ivory @ MIN
Andre Williams (if he starts, I assume a lock for RB2)

I currently have picked Evans, Herron and Ivory

    Thanks for all your advice!!!

  27. goodfold2 says:
    (link)

wow, i see you have miller as my RB# 2 with this group: ingram/miller/hill/vereen/mathews/l.murray. first time i’ve seen you not be really high on mathews, i figured he’d be starting this week. Esp since BAL (who Miller’s playing) has shut down Mathews/Ingram last 2 weeks.
    2. pick one for WR # 5 (we start 3) out of T.will/stedman/woods/lee/CJ (MIN). ROS. PPR.

    • goodfold2 says:
      (link)

      @goodfold2: 3.standard league, if/when peterson doesn’t get reinstated who’s best WR #5, woods/steadman

      • goodfold2 says:
        (link)

        @goodfold2: lee also in #3.

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@goodfold2: He might go up as we get closer to Sunday. It could be I’m trigger scared from missing last weeks call on him.

      • goodfold2 says:
        (link)

@Jay: wright/woods/steadman or lee in standard?

        • goodfold2 says:
          (link)

          @goodfold2: oops, or CJ (MIN)

          • Jay

            Jay says:
            (link)

@goodfold2: All close, probably Lee? Double check my rankings on Sunday to be sure.

      • goodfold2 says:
        (link)

@Jay: it is nice (and not so nice, from the hair pulling decisions every week) to have 6 top 28 RB’s.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@goodfold2: There are worse things to have!

          • goodfold2 says:
            (link)

@Jay: i’d take that over not having that.

  28. Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
    (link)

still early enough, but rankings have yet to be right about cutler vs romo. i’ve owned both since week 8 or so, and they’ve literally been wrong every week (not saying yours, the consensus ones)

    • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
      (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: damn, i both have, and am playing against murray (looking like murray will supplant julio jones as my keeper in the one). i’ve got romo/bailey vs jeffery/dez/murray in one league, not cool, my team isn’t very good in that one either.

        • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
          (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: heh heh. take that dez/jeffery/murray owner.

          • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
            (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: wow, that wasn’t a TD. how anybody can get that wrong with instant replay is beyond me.

              • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
                (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: cutler back on top, barely, at 32.7 to 28.25. rankings 0-6 if romo doesn’t come back (since week 8)

                • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
                  (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: with our 300 yd bonus cutler won by 11.7. projections still have me winning by 19.6, but i’ve very rarely met NFL.com’s projections this year with this team.

                  • Jay

                    Jay says:
                    (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: NFL.com’s projections were a bit goofy. I’m sure mine were too, but I’d like to think they have better resources to draw upon.

                    • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
                      (link)

@Jay: pretty much every week i’ve been favored in this league, and am 7-6, and only am the 7th best team.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: Yeah, I think you’ve brought this up for three weeks now. Will it ever change? Maybe. Marshall going down changes the dynamic certainly…

      • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
        (link)

@Jay: it helped jeffery out for sure (that and DAL playing prevent for most of a half)

  29. Dom B says:

Most droppable player Larry Donnell, jordan reed, Roddy White

    • Jay

      @Dom B: Reed.

  30. Mantis Toboggan MD says:
    (link)

if we’re protecting demarco with randle, who is the best drop, we start 2 RB and 1 flex. murray/ingram/mathews/sims/blount/ivory. i’m guessing it’s sims here.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mantis Toboggan MD: You can drop Sims, yeah. I don’t think you need him. Crazy depth there.

      • Mantis Toboggan MD says:
        (link)

@Jay: used to have mason too, dropped him for sims back when it was up in the air whether mason or sims would have better ROS value.

  31. Robert says:

Am I going to regret having Ivory on the bench this weekend? I’m starting Forsett, Hill, and Miller.

Saw where this could be an “Ivory game” against Minnesota from the Jets corner today. I am starting Minnesota’s D this week too just FYI.

  33. Kano1 says:
