I left myself thin at d/st—–Buffalo or Dallas?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Curt: Yeah, the defense part didn’t post correctly. The rankings should be updated soon. So until then, it should read Cowboys at 21 and Bills at 22.

  2. Dom B says:
    (link)

Johnathan Stewart or Fred Jackson start at RB 2

    • Chicken Dinner says:
      (link)

      @Dom B: Stew

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dom B: Jackson, but it’s close right now.

  3. Nick says:
    (link)

Hey Jay, I see you ranked Lat Murray ahead of R Jennings & Martavis, which I have all 3. I have Jennings in my lineup currently as I get the feeling KC will stack the box against a 1-dimensional Raider offense especially since KC was gashed the last time out on 4 attempts…but then again, Jennings has a very tough matchup (maybe he can get going in the pass game) & if A Williams takes some carrys away, Im nervous…

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: Yeah, I’m still waiting to see how the New York situation plays out, maybe until game time. It kinda puts a wrench into the rankings, that’s for sure.

  4. Travis says:
    (link)

So you really like Luck (vs a pretty tough HOU) better than Big Ben (vs a horrible ATL)? I’ve got both, and after last week’s performance, debated benching luck for ben–but think bounce back?

You see L. Murray having a repeat vs KC this weekend? You seem to have him ranked high. Debating him, M. Bryant, Stills or Moncrief for my flex spot… I like Murray, but OAK sucks and KC is tough, and this time I’d think they should be prepared for him?

    • Chicken Dinner says:
      (link)

@Travis: HOUs secondary is one of the worst in the league.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Travis: Houston doesn’t scare me much. Just J.J. Watt. I could see him doing well against KC. I don’t think they’re as good as we thought they were.

      • Crazy old guy babbling in the corner says:
        (link)

@Jay: well if HOUs secondary so bad–still like latavius over Moncrief? With Reggie hurting, he might slide up to #2, and if they focus on shutting down Hilton, he could run crazy?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Crazy old guy babbling in the corner: I wouldn’t say they are terrible, but they rely on a pass rush. I feel safer with Murray at the flex, but Moncrief is still a guy I like.

  5. Steve Stevenson says:
    (link)

Does the ranking of Hill bake in the reports from yesterday that CIN will be leaning on him more, or were the rankings done assuming a timeshare with Gio? Trying to decide on Hill vs Mason in .5 PPR and you have them really close, so was wondering if Hill gets an additional bump.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Steve Stevenson: It does a bit, yes. The gap may grow when I update the rankings, but I’m probably still going Mason there.

  6. Random Dude says:
    (link)

Yeah I’m completely torn between Hill, Latavius Murray and Herron.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Random Dude: Yeah, Hill and Murray are a coin flip for me, with Herron really close behind. It’s a pickle.

  7. Zandy says:
    (link)

whats driving the difference between Tre and Lamar?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: Not much to be honest. When they are right next to each other, it’s essentially a coin flip. That being said, I’ve been a Mason guy for a while, and in scenario like this, I don’t mind giving him the edge.

  8. JP says:
    (link)

@Jay my current lineup for semi-finals.. took 1st place in reg season.. head to head, points, 12 team yahoo standard scoring plus 0.5 PPR
    QB – Big Ben
    WR1 – A Brown
    WR2 – Cobb
    WR3 – M Wilson
    RB1 – Forte
    RB2 – K Williams
    TE – Fleener
    Flex – Decker
    K – Hauschka
    DEF – ST Louis
Bench: Stafford, Crabtree, Sims, Hyde, Rudolph, Hillman

how are you feeling on the lineup? im thinking i should start stafford as a hedge the downside to ben/brown if ben doenst play great

not many viable RBs on the wire.. asiata, tate, mcfadden only real names that are getting playing time

    tx man

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@JP: Naw, I like how your roster stacks at the moment. I might drop Hillman for Asiata.

  9. Scott says:
    (link)

So m’man D-Rob had a foot injury. That explains so much. Hey, you’ve got Herron and Blount right next to each other, Herron on top. Are they pretty much interchangeable? If I put in Blount, i am projected to win my Yahoo game. If I put in Herron, I am projected to lose. Ugh!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Scott: I wouldn’t go by projections, but yeah, it’s a coin flip. I’m leaning Herron there though.

  10. Scott says:
    (link)

Sorry, another question. I have Jamaal Charles and CJ Anderson. Now suppose one or both are injured. Where would Kniles Davis and/or Juwan Thompson end up in relation to JC’s and CJ’s original ranking?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Scott: Closerish… but not huge. They’d probably be in the top-30 at least. Maybe top-25.

  11. ryanoger says:
    (link)

    Morning Jay,

10 team .5 PPR keeper league

Based on your rankings…KC’s DEF is available should I grab them or roll with New England?

    ALSO
Who should I roll with this week
    QB- A Rodgers
    WR- Jordy
    WR- Mike Evans
    RB- DeMarco
    RB- Tre Mason
    TE- Antonio Gates
Flex RB/WR/TE- ??? Keenan, Latavius, Jordan Matthews, Martavius Bryant ???

Based on your rankings I’m rolling with Tre for my RB 2 slot…should I toss Latavius there and flex someone else from above?

I’m nervous about A Rod this week going up against that Buffalo DEF. Big Ben is up for grabs, thoughts?

I have an open roster spot who should I add:

Steve Smith Sr., Marquis Lee, Harry Douglas, or handcuff a guy like Joseph Randle or Juwan?

Sorry for the million questions! Thanks so much man!

    best,
    Ryan

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@ryanoger: It’s okay just to hold NE. Miami has looked terrible at times. Flexing Murray should be fine. I’m not concerned with Rodgers. I’d add Douglas for now.

      • ryanoger says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

You think I’m good with playing Tre Mason tonight right?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@ryanoger: Yeah, I like Mason tonight.

  12. Oliver says:
    (link)

I’m starting Lacy and Hill at RB, Julio Jones and Gordon at WR.
My FLEX is a toss-up between CJ2K and V-Jax. I see CJ barely edges out V-Jax, but what is your opinion?
Other available options are: Mike Wallace, Michael Floyd, Landry, Doug Baldwin, Pierre Thomas, Kerwynn Williams, and Harry Douglas.

Thanks, man! Not quite sure how I managed to get 3rd place with this team of scrubs, but you have helped a ton. Now I’m in it to win it!

    • Oliver says:
      (link)

      @Oliver: @Oliver: It’s a standard, non-PPR league.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Oliver: Yeah, I’d probably go with Anderson there. Thanks, and good luck!

      • Oliver says:
        (link)

@Jay: Haha, I think you meant to reply to another post. I wish I had Anderson, but I don’t.

      • Oliver says:
        (link)

@Jay: Do you mean to go with Chris Johnson? I guess there is a new CJ2K who emerged named Anderson.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Oliver: Oh yeah, brain fart on that. I meant to type that yeah, I’d go Johnson, but for some reason said Anderson.

  13. STL says:
    (link)

    PPR Semifinals

Josh Gordon or Randall Cobb at FLEX?

Fred Jackson or Isaiah Crowell at RB2?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@STL: Cobb and Jackson are the safe choices. I think Gordon and Crowell have the better ceiling though.

  14. Nathan says:
    (link)

    I need a RB for my semi-final. Pick one…

    Blount
    Latavius Murray
    Chris Johnson

I’m leaning towards Murray, but the matchup against the Jets with Johnson seems appealing to me.

  15. my sisters friend boyfriend says:
    (link)

    I need a flex can u help me out…here are my choices…
    Mathews vs Den
    Ivory vs Tenn
    Gore vs Hawks
    Mason vs Cards
    G.Tate vs Minn
    Charles Johnson vs Det
Starks vs Buff…..right now im leaning towards Mathews but Ivory got a juicy matchup but C.Johnson has been in his way lately…and i would like to think Mason can go off on the Cards but idk….what u think?

  16. Nel says:
    (link)

Need 2 WRs out of this bunch. Really torn on the decision. Thoughts?

    Vincent Jackson
    Kenny Stills
    Charles Johnson
    Donte Moncrief

    • Nel says:
      (link)

@Nel: and Marques Colston as of now

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Nel: Stills and Moncrief.

  17. Big W says:
    (link)

    Hey Jey,

I’m hearing Ryan Mathews likely won’t be able to play… if he doesn’t, would you agree that Donald Brown is the guy and not Darren Oliver?

If so, would you rank Brown ahead of Latavius Murray this week?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Chicken Dinner says:
      (link)

@Big W: He doesn’t have Matthews a hove him so I ‘d have to guess no. How about over Kerwynn? PPR

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Big W: Naw, I think I’d go with Oliver there.

  18. Cheeeeeeeeze says:
    (link)

So I’m in a pretty standard yahoo league (no PPR). I’m playing what I think of as a much better team this week and think I need some upside in my lineup. Currently I have Romo at QB and Jordan Reed at TE. I have the option to put jordan cameron at TE and johnny football in at QB. Do you think there’s enough of a higher ceiling on those guys to make that move or should I stick with my guys?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Cheeeeeeeeze: I actually don’t mind the Cameron switch with Reed.

  19. Poo Poo Platter says:
    (link)

So it looks like at best Julio Jones is a game time decision. Do I just start Jordan Mathews over him in a PPR even if he does play because it might be risky to start Julio at less than 100 percent in the semis.

If Julio does sit, do you like Harry Douglas or Jordan Mathews better?

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Poo Poo Platter: Probably Douglas, but it’s close if he sits.

  20. Clint says:
    (link)

So you think I should wait the Julio thing out for some Sunday morning warm up reports or just roll w/CJ Anderson in my 1.5pt/ppr RB/WR/TE flex spot? Rest of my starters look like this:

    QB: A-Rod
    RB: Le’Veon
    WR1/WR2: Megatron/Hilton
QB Flex: Russell the Muscle Wilson

And if it matters, my opponent has Peyton so there could be some cross scoring pollination if I went with CJ instead.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Clint: I’d wait and see, but putting Anderson there now isn’t a bad idea.

  21. The People's Strudel says:
    (link)

    Jay,

Thanks for the help all season man. This is the time when I start to nitpick at my lineup in order to get the full potential. Whose the better play at DEF you think NYG or NWE? I know you have NYG ranked higher (by a bit) but there’s just something I feel like I can’t trust with them. Prove me wrong, I guess.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@The People’s Strudel: Thanks for hanging out! I know it’s hard to trust them, but Washington is just terrible.

  22. Stuart says:
    (link)

Crowell or Rashad Jennings? 0.5 ppg

Even though Jennings has been a good bet when healthy, I’m scared he’ll have to give up some carries to A. Williams and possibly be shut down against’ Washington’s 3-4. Thinking Crowell could make moves with Manziel in the pocket and against Cincy’s struggling run D. You disagree?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Stuart: I’m with you here, but I’m still waiting until the last moment (Saturday night) to update my rankings on the Jennings/Williams thing.

  23. Wacha Wacha says:
    (link)

Hey Jay could you help me out?

    1. Who should I use for my OP this week? R Wilson or J Bell?

    2. Better start this week.. J Matthews or J Landry (1 pt for 10 kr/pr yards + Tannehils favorite target) ?

    3. Do you think Julio plays this week? If not does that change Roddys ranking for you in any way?

    Thanks Jay!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Wacha Wacha: Wilson, Landry, and I’m not sure to be honest. Yeah, it affects those guys, for sure… how much? They’d probably move up 10 or so slots.

  24. BTDRNKS says:
    (link)

Where does Hill fall after the revelation that he, not bernard, will be the starter going forward?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@BTDRNKS: I’ll probably move him up a bit the next update. But I wouldn’t say it would be a huge amount, he’s been the primary back (just not in writing) for a few weeks now.

  25. Jason Morgan says:
    (link)

Any chance you start Kerwynn Williams over Giovani Bernard in PPR? Bernard hasn’t done shit since week 8 and a touchdown saved that game for him. So really he hasn’t done anything since week 6. He’s been averaging barely 8 points since the start of his full-time timeshare with Hill. I just wondering if Williams will do much worse than 8 points. I know STL defense has been on a roll, but I think they are gonna come back to earth this week a bit.

And if not Kerwynn over Bernard, how about another Williams in Andre? I know Rashad Jennings is back at “full strength”, but I still expect Andre to get at least 40% of the work.

    Thoughts?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jason Morgan: Yeah, I’m actually fine with it if you’re going for ceiling.

      • Jason Morgan says:
        (link)

        @Jay: Kerwynn or Andre?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Jason Morgan: Leaning Andre, but it’s tough.

  26. Ron says:
    (link)

Tough decision I need for tonight!!

I can only start 1. Would you start Mason, Landry, Colston , West or Moncrief in .5PPR?

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Ron: That is tough. I’d say go with Mason.

  27. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

Guh, looks like Julio is a true game time decision. Dammit.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Wilsonian: Yeah, it’s going to be a bit frustrating…

      • goodfold2 says:
        (link)

@Jay: grab harry D like me in all julio leagues.

          • goodfold2 says:
            (link)

@Jay: he should have some catchphrase like “he plays/smells like bigfoot’s dick”, since he’s Harry D (both the actual amount of hair on bigfoot’s dick, and the harry and the henderson’s references)

  28. Toby says:
    (link)

Yo Jay, if Lacy can’t play, where do you rank Starks? Above Boom or Blount?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Toby: No. Maybe top-30… he’s not that talented.

  29. goodfold2 says:
    (link)

wow, so in a standard with these players, jimmy G is the first bench. start 2 RB/ 2 WR or TE/ 1 WR or RB
    romo/butt fumble
    bell (PIT)/mason/hill/a.will/ivory/herron/peterson
    OBJ/Dez/Jimmy G/Olsen
since hill has become starter again.

    • goodfold2 says:
      (link)

@goodfold2: question being, mason is really ranked higher, even when he’s playing ARI’s good run D, and on a Thursday?

      • goodfold2 says:
        (link)

@goodfold2: basically thursday games scare me, and i’d like to avoid them if possible.

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@goodfold2: Yeah, I’m with you there, TNF is kinda scary. I’d probably start Mason, but if you want to go safe, I won’t argue against it.

        • goodfold2 says:
          (link)

@Jay: yeah, i’m going jimmy, i simply don’t find it possible that brees doesn’t light up CHI’s awful D. this ARI/STL game could be ugly as shit. Both good D’s, STL has moved up to 6th, just like they should’ve been all year, i have no idea why they were so awful early in the season. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef

          • Jay

            Jay says:
            (link)

            @goodfold2: i hear ya… good luck!

  30. Tarman Got Him says:
    (link)

    I’m flipping out.

I own Demarco who I am starting in a non flex league but I really do not know who to start regardless of rankings.

Tre? Lamar? Stewart has a fine matchup? Herron?

I’m nervous about Tre but he can catch too. I’m nervous because my Miami Dolphins do not utilize Lamar the way he should be utilized and doesn”t get the touches he should.

Quick response please game starts in 25, Lol

      • Tarman Got Him says:
        (link)

        @Jay: Thanks All!!!

    • Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
      (link)

@Tarman Got Him: i can’t see miller getting more carries in this game NE will likely be winning it. Miller could get a bunch of short catches though.

  31. Homeless says:
    (link)

So glad I started Mason at my flex… He’s doing awesome.

  32. Timbo Slice says:
    (link)

This is going to be super annoying for you, but I needs some help son! Having a difficult time finalizing my lineup for this week, at WR/RB/Flex.

    It’s a .5 PPR league. Start 2 RBs, 2 WRs and 1 Flex.

    RBs: McCoy (obvious), Hill, FJax
WRs: Jordy (obvious), Benjamin, Gordon, Roddy

What do you think the ideal lineup is (5 players)?

Not sure I can trust Gordon this week with Manziel, and Derek Anderson will be throwing Benjamin the ball. The Bills project to be down and will likely throw a lot to Fjax. Also, if Julio sits Roddy gets a big upgrade? Let me know what you think when you have a moment – thanks in advance mate.

  33. NeedHelp! says:
    (link)

Standard scoring. Need 2 for flex. J. Gordon, C. Ivory, D. Herron, or R. Jennings.

  34. matthew Funk says:
    (link)

AT #2 RB SPOT DO I START LATAVIOUS MURRAY OR LAMAR MILLER?

  35. Marky Mark says:
    (link)

Julio replacement: stick with Moncrief or pick up Douglas?
