2014 In-Season Accuracy: 57.9% (12th out of 133 Experts, 61.4% Highest, 49.9% Lowest).

Week 2 Results: 54.0% (35th out of 135 Experts, 61.3% Highest, 42.1% Lowest).

I actually didn’t think there were going to be enough healthy players to rank this week, but alas, we barely made it. With nearly 86% of the NFL injured, one might wonder if we are seeing the end of the world as we know it, totally forgetting the fact that we voted Barack Obama to be President not once, but twice. Coincidentally, Jamaal Charles’ and A.J. Green’s injuries are the direct result of that as well, so thanks again Obama! Not only is the world already in the process of ending, but so are our fantasy football teams. Sounds like a scary situation here folks… but have no fear, I come here bearing gifts. Well, not “gifts” per say, more like rankings, but I submit to you that rankings can be gifts. It just needs some ribbon and wrapping paper, and BOOM, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO. So here are the rankings for Week 3, now with more gift wrap…

  1. Dave says:
    (link)

I need to start 3 of the 4 rbs in a 10 team standard scoring

    Andre Ellington
    Knile Davis
    Joique bell
    Ahmad Bradshaw

I was ready to go with davis/bell/Bradshaw until I just saw your rankings. Why so low on Davis?

    • Principal Blackman says:
      (link)

@Dave: I am in the same boat in re Davis. I was totally ready to start him over Ellington, especially considering the matchup.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dave: I’d like to see one more game on Davis before I go all in. Watching the tape, he had one good run, but the rest was pretty average. And to be honest, I’m not sure what the exact status of Charles is yet. The rankings get updated for Sunday’s games, so stay tuned on that front.

      • Mordacious Levator says:
        (link)

@Jay: are you saying KC hasn’t even ruled out a guy with a high ankle sprain?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Mordacious Levator: I’m sure they will at some point, but they haven’t yet, so I’m forced to rank him until then.

          • Mordacious Levator says:
            (link)

@Jay: that makes sense, i just figured he was ruled out already.

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Mordacious Levator: It’s an odd situation for sure. I looked it up, and there are few experts that have him ranked as the #2 RB this week, and that’s published…

  2. Joe says:
    (link)

Kicker question time! I own Walsh. He’s playing in the dome this week against the Saints. Do I stick with him, or drop him for one of the following: Parkey, Succop, Graham, Catanzaro, Carpenter?

    • REGULATOR says:
      (link)

      @Joe: check rankings

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Joe: I like Graham this week.

    • Mordacious Levator says:
      (link)

@Joe: I’ve dropped walsh everywhere, with no AP to help sustain drives.

  3. Robert says:
    (link)

Which one is worth holding the most: Alfred Blue or Sankey?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Robert: I’m tempted to go Blue here, but I’m still not sure if it’s him or Grimes handcuffing Foster. Sankey for the upside I guess, but he isn’t very relevant right now.

  4. Crazy old guy babbling in the corner says:
    (link)

Love the post, as always. What’s your thoughts long-term on Asiata? He anything more than a one-week flyer against a week defense? Should I try to sell high in him if he does good again this weekend, or he worth holding?

My RBs are DeMarco Murray, Doug Martin, Ahmad Bradshaw, Trent Richardson and Asiata.

Maybe go after Rainey or Hill for him?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Crazy old guy babbling in the corner: I think he’s a fringe flex guy. I’d like to see more, but I’m sure everyone would. Always look to sell high, as you have enough depth there. To be honest though, I’d rather have both Rainey and Hill over him.

      • Crazy old guy babbling in the corner says:
        (link)

@Jay: Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking too. If nothing else, Rainey would be nice as a handcuff with Doug Martin right now. Even if Asiata has a great game this weekend, doubt I could get much more than Rainey for him….That itself seems “sell high”…

        Thanks!

  5. Edward Scherzer Hands says:
    (link)

Hey, in a 14 team h2h non ppr league, should I have Bradshaw or west in flex? Also, should I start Vernon Davis or Kelce in TE? Thanks!

  6. The Thumb says:
    (link)

Oh mr. Longfellow, why so low on Khiry? I was leaning him for my flex over Edelman and Bush because he figures to get the most volume and the saints don’t lose at home

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@The Thumb: It’s a good call here. I have no idea what to think of this game coming up. I’d like to say that everything is pointing to a dominating Saints victory, and if that’s the case, how will he be used? And then I think, well, as the season has gone, this might be a trap game, so how does that affect him? For now, I’m okay with my ranking, but I haven’t had a chance to rewatch the game against the Browns. I’ll have a better picture on him by Sunday. For now, I’m comfortable with the ranking.

  7. Steve says:
    (link)

Would u trade Jeffrey for Cor Patterson?
    Looking for upside
    No confidence in cutler
Saw stats that Mccown last yr was better for him
    Thoughts?
    10 team standard

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Steve: I would still hold here. The hamstring concerns me more than Cutler.

  8. KK says:
    (link)

    Ppr: bradshAw Kniles or spiller?

Reggie Wayne, Kendall wright, or Kelvin?

    • REGULATOR says:
      (link)

      @KK: check rankings

      • KK says:
        (link)

@REGULATOR:… Sometimes others have different opinions than the rankings

        • vinodole says:
          (link)

@KK: I think the point is that Jay puts a lot of work into these weekly rankings only to come and have to answer 100+ WDIS (who do I start) questions which he inevitably answers with whatever he put in his rankings… Don’t get me wrong I’m as guilty as any of us with this asking around for impossible WDIS questions (mine right now is pick 2 out of 3 WR – Roddy, Cordarelle, Wayne, Jay’s rankings say bench Wayne – really!?! vs JAX? Fuck you Jay!!!)

So ya, I guess try to leave these comments for asking specific questions of Jay/the Razzball crew that he hasn’t already answered vis-a-vis his rankings.

btw I’m not with Razzball, just another commenter

          • Jay

            Jay says:
            (link)

@vinodole: Oh, so I didn’t have to pay for this? Awesome.

And questions are questions, it’s fine. It’s always up to the commentator to interact however they want to. Razzball is always here to help.

        • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
          (link)

@KK: you are right, and that could apply to other people, but weekly rankings this year are done by Jaywrong already. Last year it was Sky, so if you don’t want analysis, just weekly plays, rankings in fact do have your answer, if Jaywrong is the guy you’re asking.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @KK: Spiller and Wayne.

  9. whhhhhat says:
    (link)

pick 2 players to start: (1 for my flex, 1 for my wr2)

    Colston
    Keenen allen
    Julian edelman
    bobby rainey
    doug martin

i’m thinking avoid the Thur night game and start 3 WR’s (andre johnson and then 2 from above) but am afraid i could leave a lot on my bench with either doug or rainey shredding atl D a la gio bernard/jeremy hill

    • REGULATOR says:
      (link)

      @whhhhhat: check rankings

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@whhhhhat: Yeah, I think you need to start at least one guy tonight. Go Rainey here. And Allen for WR.

  10. Brian says:
    (link)

I am thinking of starting K. Rudolph over Michael Floyd this week is that crazy ? I own Ellington and Floyd and dont feel like they will be worth starting unless Palmer gets the nod. I have also thought about playing Pierce over Ellington due to the same reason for sitting Floyd. What is your opinion of the way I feel ?

    Thanks again bro..

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Brian: Not super crazy, diversifying and such. I’d definitely go with Ellington, he showed last Sunday he can still put up numbers without Palmer. I’m still going with starting the best players here, but no, not crazy.

  11. MIA says:
    (link)

Why is Lamar Miller so low? Knowshon is out of the way and that KC defense is awful.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@MIA: Never been a Miller guy, and I don’t think he’s necessarily low here. At the very least, it seems to match the consensus.

  12. Nick says:
    (link)

Hey Jay, Im going to decline the Edelman for Ridley/Cruz deal in my 10team non-ppr, but I want to counter…here is my roster vs his roster, can you make a suggested trade I should propose which would strengthen my WR depth?

    My team;
    Rodgers
Cobb, Wallace, Edelman, G. Jennings, Bowe
Murray, R. Jennings, Matthews, Rainey, K Davis, Hyde
    Gates & Witten

    His team;
    Rivers
Nelson, A Johnson, Cruz, Decker, Hopkins, J Jones
McCoy, Stacy, West, Bell, Ridley, Ivory
    Olsen

Whats are 1 or 2 counter offers you would suggest? Thanks again!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: I think I just answered this in the other thread, but you can follow up here if needed.

      • Nick says:
        (link)

@Jay: Which offer would be better, Bowe/Davis for Cruz or Edelman/Rainey for Stacy/Cruz

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Nick: I like the first offer here better.

  13. Paul Nelson says:
    (link)

    HI Jay,

In a PPR I have Spiller, Rainey, West and P. Thomas at RB and Edelman, Wayne, Wright and Quick at WR.

    Many experts are recommending:
    WR Edelman
    WR Wayne
    RB Spiller
    RB Thomas
    FLEX Quick

It looks like you would recommend:
    WR Edelman
    WR Wayne
    RB Spiller
    RB Rainey
    FLEX Wright

Can you explain why you like Wright to rebound over Quick? And if Rainey is the bell cow tonight, I agree with your ranking. If Martin is good to go, does that change your ranking? Do you like West against the Ravens better than Thomas in a Ingram-less offense?

    Thanks,

    Paul

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Paul Nelson: To be fair, Quick and Wright are a coin flip essentially. But yeah, I’ve been high on Wright all season, I’m going to stay stubborn one more week and then reassess. With Rainey, I think at worst, it’s still a RBBC.

I do like West better, but I also like Thomas this weekend, but he hasn’t shown me anything so far.

  14. Pete says:
    (link)

Who deserves my Flex spot this week? (12-team 0.5 PPR)

    Lamar Miller vs KC
    Terrance West vs BAL
    DeSean Jackson @ PHI

Jackson will be plenty motivated, but no sure about QB and injury situation. West doesn’t seem to be much of a factor in the passing game so I’m leaning towards Miller at the moment.

    • Pete says:
      (link)

@Pete: Forgot to mention I also could start Kelvin Benjamin vs PIT

      • REGULATOR says:
        (link)

        @Pete: check the rankings man

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Pete: I think you have to go West here.

  15. Loopid says:
    (link)

Hello. Quick Question for you: Non PPR league Flex spot — Doug Martin or Sproles ?

    • Loopid says:
      (link)

      @Loopid:
(your ranking has them neck and neck, just wondering if your gut would make you lean either way)

      • REGULATOR says:
        (link)

@Loopid: gut is probably whats in the rankings man

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Loopid: I think Sproles would probably win the coin flip a few more times than Martin here. Go with tiny.

  16. Zandy says:
    (link)

Would love details on what’s driving your Rainey and Doug rankings…
I assume if Doug is out, you move Rainey up into top 15, especially against such a weak Def
Is your ranking driven by the fact that you think the TB backfield has a great day but that’s discounted since it’s unclear who gets the touches?
Just toying with the idea of starting them both actually in one league to capture the entire production

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: You pretty much nailed it. I’m assuming they are going to split time as of now, and it might not change. Or, the spread could grow depending if there’s any breaking news later today. Playing it safe at this point though.

    • whhhhhat says:
      (link)

@Zandy: I have the opposite problem of you. I agree if Doug is out bobby is a start. I dont think that will be the case. i asked above and was advised to start rainey, but without seeing how the distribution of carries goes it’s pure speculation until we see it. I think the conservative (and correct) play would be to BENCH both and find another player. I need to see how the touches are being handled. I could start doug and he sees 10 touches all night (rainey getting 15+). i could start rainey and he see’s 10 touches all night (doug getting 20+). i guess if you’re an underdog in your matchup throw in a TB rb. but if you think you’ll win, dont ruin it by a bad call tonight. Just my thoughts.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: News is coming out that Rainey will be starting tonight, so I’ve adjusting the rankings a bit, should be updated soon.

      • whhhhhat says:
        (link)

@Jay: i saw that! thanks. bitter/sweet that i handcuffed rainey to doug. I want one to have the clear job, but looks like its RBBC here on out.

maybe they’re just being super cautious with doug? i feel like if his injury was ‘minor’ he’d be back by now

  17. Allan says:
    (link)

Why so low on khiry robinson? I was going to start him over woodhead as my rb2 in a standard league.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Allan: I would go Woodhead, I went in depth on Robinson in an earlier comment. The gist was, I’m iffy at this point, but his ranking could change before Sunday.

  18. Chicken Dinner says:
    (link)

Asked Tehol this yesterday. Would like to get your opinion.

What’s your take on Marvin Jones? Worth a stash over Davonte Adams?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Chicken Dinner: I don’t mind it, no, but I would be holding here.

  19. Hans says:
    (link)

Jay, Here me out, then let me know if I’m crazy…14 team league, can only have four rb spots. Currently have Mathews, Brown, Ivory, Woodhead, Hill, Vereen. Need to drop two by Sunday if I cant trade.

Crazy to consider dropping Mathews? Thinking..he is out most likely 5 weeks, which means that he will be back week 8. He has a bye week 10, which means if Brown plays well, he can very well be held out til week 11. Best case scenario, he gets me 2 weeks of play out of the next 8 weeks, worst case, he doesnt play for 8 weeks. Am I crazy in being frustrated and wanting someone else to deal with this mess? If so, what two should I drop from my six? BTW, sorry for the book…

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Hans: Based on your league and roster, it’s tough, but I would hold here and drop Ivory and Brown (Or try to trade both). It’s okay to be frustrated though, I own Mathews everywhere, but I’m not jumping ship yet.

  20. Adam says:
    (link)

Standard League – need help with flex
    RB: Lacey, Spiller
    WR: Jeffery, Patterson
    FLEX: ?
    Crabtree, Edleman, Watkins, Rainey

    • REGULATOR says:
      (link)

      @Adam: check rankings

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Adam: Edelman.

  21. Zandy says:
    (link)

would you trade doug martin for rashad at this point? std league

    • REGULATOR says:
      (link)

      @Zandy: well doug and rainey

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: Yeah, I’m okay with it.

  22. The Fridge says:
    (link)

If Doug Martin is ruled out tonight, do I bench Spiller, Vereen or Asiata in favor of Rainey…?

    • REGULATOR says:
      (link)

@The Fridge: check the rankings – they say youd bench asiata for rainey whether martin is in or out. you’re welcome

      • KnileIsNotJustA... says:
        (link)

@REGULATOR: Take a ride with Warren G and Nate Dogg right off a cliff and let the rest of us have fun in the comments section.

      • Crapshoot Kershaw says:
        (link)

@REGULATOR: wow, you’re helpful for, what, the 12th or so time out of 12 appearances doing what you are and you want to be thanked for it? If thanks is what you are out for here i’m guessing about 30 or so folks would be more than willing to give them, just save your fingers from typing so much, this will leave them in good shape for important tasks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@The Fridge: I’d favor Rainey over Asiata, and it looks like he’ll be named starter tonight.

  23. Jon says:
    (link)

Start Lamar Miller, Doug Martin (assuming he plays), or Ty Hilton in a flex spot? Rest of my lineup looks like this:

    QB Newton
    RB Forte
    RB Spiller
    WR Megatron
    WR Wallace
    TE Gates

    • Jon says:
      (link)

Chris Johnson is also a possibility for that flex spot
