wow, seeing how you’ve only really been near 17th out of 6 weeks once, sort of close twice, seems to indicate among all 123 writers, there is very little week to week consistency, and your place in the whole is very good. nice work. Kevin the IDP man ranks very high as well, with 2nd out of 21, which is actually not far from where you are % wise. both in top 14%, but less than top 8%.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@goodfold2: Yeah, sometimes I get freaked out when I see my ranking so low here and there during the weeks, but then I look at my accuracy percentage, and I’m like, oh, so I stayed the same, but everyone else is flying all over the place. Can be a double-edged sword, as I seem to have “settled”, but then again, it’s hard to complain about a top-20 standing at this point in my first year doing ranks.

      • goodfold2 says:
        (link)

@Jay: not at all, i think it’s great. some of those guys have been doing it for years and probably never ranked that high 6 weeks in.

  2. Scott says:
    (link)

There’s supposed to be a monsoon in foxborough tonight. You still suggest starting Brady over cousins?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Scott: It depends. The last Cincy game that was supposed to have a downpour, the rain wasn’t as bad as it was to be believed. It’s a game-time decision for me on the weather, but yes, all QB’s will get downgraded if it’s still on track. Going with Cousins is fine there.

  3. Dom B says:
    (link)

Hey I want to start Eddie Lacy but your rankings say start Fred jax should I still start lacy over Fred jax

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dom B: It’s a coin flip. I might go Lacy when I update, but I really like the match up right now with Jackson.

  4. Dom B says:
    (link)

Also flex f jax Roddy or crabtree

    • Dom B says:
      (link)

      Or Percy harvin

      • Chicken Dinner says:
        (link)

@Dom B: Start the higher ranked player.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Chicken Dinner: Yeah. But be sure to double check the rankings Sunday morning.

  5. Kyle says:
    (link)

Lafell, Malcolm floyd, or Eddie royal ROS?

    • Kyle says:
      (link)

      @Kyle: PPR

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Kyle: Royal.

  6. FantasyFantasizer says:
    (link)

    Standard, 12 team league:

Give: Bradshaw, Oliver, Andre Johnson, Delanie
Get: Beast Mode, Kelce, 2 of these Scrubs (Wheaton/Malcom Floyd/Cunningham)

My RB would then be Beast, Lacy, Pierre Thomas, Cunningham…..Do i take the beast or keep some depth?

      • FantasyFantasizer says:
        (link)

@Jay: Thanks Jay – there’s no way Bradshaw stays this hot right? Who would be a good person to try to target in a trade with Bradshaw?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@FantasyFantasizer: I actually like Bradshaw a lot, but health is a factor.

  7. Allan says:
    (link)

Jay what’s your policy on vetoing trades? Guy in our league who already has murray, forte, and tate traded bradshaw and richardson for charles…with his brother who is 0-6. Seems a little collusiony.

    • Wilsonian says:
      (link)

@Allan: I think that’s something that should probably be investigated. I don’t believe in vetoes unless there is certain collusion. That looks the part based off of what you said.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Allan: Yeah, that’s raises red flags. It should be vetoed or put on hold until you can figure out their reasoning. In a vacuum, it’s not a completely crazy trade, but when you put it into context, doesn’t look good.

  8. Frank White says:
    (link)

Hey Jay… I lost Cruz and Maclin is on a bye. I got ANtonio Brown but my only replacements are Boldin n James Jones in my 3 receiver league. This guy wants Bush for Sammy Watkins or Torrey smith. My other backs are Murray, Fred Jackson, Mathews and Andre Williams. What you think?? Also if you don’t like Then do you think I can afford to trade Mathews for a good receiver?? I’d rather hold Fred Jackson I think over Mathews but the only thing is when Murray n Jackson go n a bye I would only have Bush and William which Williams will pretty much be irrelevant by then. What do you think? Thanks!!!

    • Wilsonian says:
      (link)

@Frank White: Any WRs available in the FA pool? That’s what I’d look into first. See if you can stream someone. I wouldn’t trade Bush for Watkins. I’d deal Mathews if I had a decent enough offer. You don’t know what he’s going to do when he gets back. He’s injury prone and now has an RB1 in Oliver to contend with for touches.

      • Frank White says:
        (link)

I have AntonioBrown, James Jones and Boldin cause Maclin has a bye and I just lost Cruz… You really think Matthews isn’t gonna be good coming back?? that’ll leave me with Bush to use at flex our fir my other backs I told you about on their bye weeks.. Is it worth trading Matthews for odell Beckham jr. considering what backs, llike Bush is all I’ll have left??

        • Wilsonian says:
          (link)

@Frank White: I’d rather have Beckham over Watkins and Bush over Mathews. Mathews is too unknown for me now. Injuries and I can’t see SD abandoning Oliver at this point. At least not completely. If he has a great game this week again, I see him as being the lead over Mathews from here on out.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Frank White: I’d try to stream, as I’d rather have Bush those two trades. And hold on Mathews. He’s still the primary back there.

  9. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

    1) Who would you rather hang on to for the long haul: Vereen or Bradshaw?

    2) I just can’t get myself to play Edelman over Hilton after last week’s explosion. I’m obviously not expecting 200+ yards from Hilton again, but I’m a believer in WR1 type play. Do you hate me for my decision?

    0.5 PPR – 3 point bonus at 85 yards rec/100 yards rush – 6 point bonus at 135 yards rec/150 yards rush

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Wilsonian: Bradshaw, but it’s close. Depends on what I see tonight on the RB plan. 2. No, not at all.

  10. Comatose says:
    (link)

I’m in the same Joique Bell or Ahmad Bradshaw dilemma this week. Sort of want to go Bell.

    • Comatose says:
      (link)

@Comatose: I realize this isn’t a question. I just had to tell someone.

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Comatose: like a cry for help? Honestly, I still like Bell and can’t argue against going with him.

  11. Charles says:
    (link)

Thanks for the write up Jay. Any worries with Brady and the weather tonight? Should I start Big Ben instead?

    • Nick says:
      (link)

@Charles: Hmm thats funny, my opponent has Brady/Big Ben & he subbed in Brady this week…now I’m hoping the Pats go with the run however, the Jets are good at one thing & thats defending the rush so I’m a little nervous going up against Bradys arm…although I do have Edelman to fight Brady..

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Charles: It’ll be a game-time decision for me to be honest. My rankings are not based at all on weather, just because I can’t control that. If it’s a downpour at game time, yes, go with Big Ben.

  12. Ron says:
    (link)

I need a DEF for this week with the Bengals on BYE. The Cowboys, Packers, and Redskins are all available.

This is a 12 team .5PPR league with 2 keepers where you lose the round you drafted a player in when you keep him. I say this because I’m still holding onto Cruz. He was drafted in the 4th round (which is really the 6th for us with 24 keepers off the board).

    My Roster:
    QB: Rodgers, E. Manning
RB: Charles, Miller, Stacy, Mason, Hyde, K. Davis
WR: Megatron, Crabtree, Colston, Cooks, Wheaton
    TE: Cameron
    DEF: Bengals
    K: Dawson
    IR: Cruz

    1) Do I drop Cruz and the potential to keep him or trade him in the preseason to get a DEF now?
    2) Do I drop the Bengals (who gave me -21 the last 2 weeks) and stream DEF going forward?
    3) Which DEF do I pick up for this week?
    4) If you say hold the Bengals and hold on Cruz, who should I drop to pickup a DEF?

    Thanks!!

    • Ron says:
      (link)

@Ron: Ooops! Bengals not on BYE but playing Luck and Colts which could be worse than being on a BYE cause they are projected for negative points. All questions still apply.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Ron: 1) I don’t think Cruz will ever be the same again. I think he’s safe to drop, even in a keep. 2) I’m fine sticking with them. 3) Washington. 4) Dropping Cruz is fine.

      • Mordacious Levator says:
        (link)

@Jay: def drop cruz in everything except like keep 7 or dynasty leagues, maybe even in some of those too, depending on cost/stashability. I would think CIN drop or not would be mostly influenced by what’s available to stream. What if CLE is out there (or something of that nature). I had IND to grab and dropped CIN, then later SD got dropped by opp.

  13. Mike says:
    (link)

Hemming and hawing with the same call in two PPR leagues: Bradshaw or Lacy? Any thoughts on floors/ceilings for this week game? I’m around .500 in both leagues and could really use a win to get some momentum. Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mike: I might go Lacy if that’s the case. For some reason, I’m still a believer.

      • Mike says:
        (link)

@Jay: Thanks for the thought, Jay.

  14. mcBlunty says:
    (link)

would you drop either Khiry or Asiata for Tre Mason?

    • Chicken Dinner says:
      (link)

      @mcBlunty: Khiry

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@mcBlunty: I’m fine dropping Asiata there.

  15. Chicken Dinner says:
    (link)

    Pick two ROS.

    PPR

    Wallace/Floyd(AZ)/Cooks

    Thanks.

  16. KnileIsNotJustA... says:
    (link)

I don’t understand why you rank Cook so low in PPR. He gets more looks than a lot of TE’s and hasn’t had a dud yet this year.

  17. Nate T says:
    (link)

Just got a trade offer of Jamal Charles and Emanual Sanders for my Demaryius Thomas and Ahmad Bradshaw. Not sure if I should accept as it would leave me thin at WR. Here is my team, standard league with no PPR.

    Starters:
    QB:A. Luck
WR: D. Thomas, Michael. Floyd, O. Beckham
    RB: F. Jackson, A. Bradshaw
    TE: J. Graham

    Bench:
    WR: C. Patterson
    RB: Z. Stacy, A. Williams, J. Bell, T. Mason

There’s also a few WRs in the FAs that are available to be picked up:
    Quick, LaFell, Cook.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Nate T: I’d do that, sure.

  18. Nikko Respeto says:
    (link)

Hey Jay. I got sent a trade: My V. Jax and Reggie Bush for Storm and Mark Ingram. My RBS: L. Bell, B. Sankey, R. Bush, R. Hillman; My WRS: E. Sanders, A. Brown, S. Smith, M. Wheaton, V. Jax, R. Wayne, O. Beckham. I dont know how I feel about Jacksonville running backs..

    • Nikko Respeto says:
      (link)

@Nikko Respeto: Also, His Charles and Mike Wallace for My Antonio and Reggie Bush?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nikko Respeto: I wouldn’t do either. You’re better off holding on both trades here.

  19. Cowboys = Ebola says:
    (link)

Jay, congrats on showing the so-called “experts” how it’s done. Wish you continued success…

    Couple of questions.:
    1) Shane Vereen – at 26 (even in PPR), I can see you don’t think Ridley’s exit as providing much of a boost in value. Is the ranking this week a product of a decent Jets run D or is this where he will be the rest of the year? Between Vereen and Joique Bell, who would you rather have rest of the year?

    2) Larry Fitz – Washington’s pass defense is horrible. Was last week because of this or because of the return of Carson?

    3) Keenan Allen – FML. Do i need to kneecap Eddie Royal in order to get Keenan involved again? This is ridiculous. Who do you like better rest of season: Fitz or Keenan?

    4) Dallas D – playing better than expectation and get the Giants at home. At 13, is this just because of other matchups or do you think the G-Men actually score some points this week?

Thanks again for all of the help.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Cowboys = Ebola: Thanks!

1- Just for this week. And also I expected more from him this year. He would probably be a bit higher in ROS, sure. Between those two? Man, it’s close, right now, probably Vereen since Bell hasn’t shown me anything yet. (Still a believer with him though.)

      2- A bit of both.

3- Keenan. He leads the Chargers in targets. Could have been banged up, but I think the production will come.

4- I think Cowboys can easily lose this one, it would be a very Cowboy thing to do.

  20. ryanoger says:

    Jay

Who should I slot in as my 2nd receiver this week?

    Percy, Terrance, or Keenan

AND based on that should I flex one of the above or Crowell this week?

    .5 PPR league

    thanks man
    ryan

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@ryanoger: Allen. And I would flex Williams.

  21. joe says:

  22. Jeremy says:

Nice work man. For the flex would you go Oliver or Kelce/Vernon Davis?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jeremy: Oliver until Mathews comes back.

  23. Ron says:
    (link)

Non-ppr…who you dropping out of Hartline, G. Jennings, J. Matthews, Khiry and Storm?

  24. SwaggerJackers says:

  25. Filkarri says:
    (link)

Drop the Chargers defense to stream the Browns at Jacksonville?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Filkarri: Yup, good idea. Defense still pretty banged up and KC has some weapons.

  26. Zobmie says:
    (link)

Out of the following list of RB’s which two would you start this week? (standard scoring): Ahmad Bradshaw, Chris Ivory, Joique Bell and Andre Williams.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Zobmie: Bradshaw, Williams.

  27. paz says:
    (link)

which is the lesser evil: Romo at home vs Giants or Stafford at home vs Saints sans CJ?

    • Paz says:
      (link)

@paz: also would you trade Romo for Vernon Davis?

my tight end is Jermaine Gresham…

      • Jay

        (link)

        @Paz: I wouldn’t, no.

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @paz: Stafford.

  28. Owen says:

In a half PPR league would you trade Lamar Miller and Olsen for Alshon Jeffery and Gore?

  29. Kind of De'Knile says:
    (link)

8tm keeper, 6 rb limit, have oliver, bell, sankey, hyde, dmc, and spiller
A: drop one for Davante Adams
B: drop one for Pierce, Cunningham, Tre Mason, K. Carey, Bolden, White, L. Murray, well that’s about it…… slim pickings on the wire and looking for upside
    C: be bold and hold

      • Kind of De'Knile says:
        (link)

@Jay: Thanks Jay, I had the same idea but it’s good to hear it from a guru. Team is 3-3 and unless Megatron and Graham go off I’ll have a tough time in the playoffs so I figure I might as well have some insurance for next season. RIP Stacy, it was fun while it lasted. Dear Niners, please make Hyde your feature back.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Kind of De’Knile: Not sure if I’m a Guru, but glad I could help!

And I totally agree with your thoughts on Hyde there.

  30. Nick says:
    (link)

Hey Jay, so based on reports, Ingram is fully back to practice and is not “being babied” back into play…

    In a 10-team non-ppr, I have Cobb/Edelman/Sanu at WR1/2/3 & A. Johnson at flex…stay with that or plug Ingram in somewhere?

How about my RB2 (Andre Williams)? Stick with Williams or plug-in Ingram against a tough Detroit line?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: I’d stay with that for now. I still like Williams.

  31. Zandy says:
    (link)

worth dropping Khiry to pickup and start JStew at RB2 in std league – otherwise have to start one of Stacy Ingram Pierre Tre Storm Bolden

That said, going against a guy with Charlels Leveon and Tate plus AntonioBrown so im destined to lose anyways…. could just use Pierre as I can see him having max upside with no Graham and DET stopping runs up the middle

    thanks man!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: Eh, JStew doesn’t excite me at all. Yeah, I think Pierre there might be risky, but could get you the most points.

  32. Barker says:
    (link)

    12 team ppr

Qb newton wr Wayne harvin rb lacy Ellington te Bennett flex Bradshaw k Dawson def ari
Bn Holmes Crabtree Gordon Mathews mason

Someone dropped foles and he clears waivers tomorrow is there a drop here for him? Holmes I suppose — is it worth it to get him now with # 3 waiver priority as cam insurance for week 12 or other considerations ( trades maybe ?/ spot starts ) — I will also need a spot week nine to stream for Bennett so I may just hold off

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Barker: I think you can hold here.

  33. Bradyvipe says:
    (link)

Flex Fred Jackson, Percy Harvin, or Micheal Crabtree

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Bradyvipe: Jackson for now. Might change as we get closer to Sunday.

  34. Zandy says:
    (link)

ROS outlook on Chris Ivory in 0.5 PPR – is he RB2 material or waiver wire fodder? Like is he better than a Spiller or McKinnon

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: Matchup flex option. He’s sort of on the same level as those guys.

  35. BraunWeasleys says:
    (link)

Am I giving too much up in Crabtree and Bernard for Lesean Mccoy and mike evans? I don’t really need the wr’s, just who the better RB will be in this PPR league.

    Thanks!

  36. Foles Metal Jacket says:
    (link)

With McCoy and Martin on bye and going with your ranks it looks like I may be starting both Colts RB (Bradshaw & Richardson). Would you do that, or plug Bolden in for one of them?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Foles Metal Jacket: I know it kinda sucks, but I might want to put Bolden in, even against the Jets D. I don’t like starting two running backs from the same team.

  37. Teddy Heater says:
    (link)

    Jay,
I’m putting up my 6-0 record against you this week in Jay Wrong #3, I think you got me by a long way as my team is in shambles right now! So congrats on the soon to be win! In a different league (Money)I need a little help at the flex, pick one:

    Edleman vs NYJ
    Vereen vs NYJ
    Stacy vs Sea
    Williams @ Dal

I have Marshall, Garcon, Edelman & Wayne. Do you like Holmes over Wayne moving forward or hold?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Teddy Heater: Well, now that you said that, game over for me man. Thanks!

I’m thinking Williams there… but Edleman is so tempting. Go with Edleman.

      I still like Wayne there.

      • Teddy Heater says:
        (link)

@Jay: HA! Thanks I slated in Edelman! You like Williams over Vereen?

  38. Duke says:
    (link)

5-1 in this ppr league, looking ahead, do think Matt Ryan / Hillman is a good offer for Aaron Rodgers or just stand pat? He’s the Montee Ball owner & my other RBs are Ellington, Joique, McKinnon, and Ryan Matthews

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Duke: Sure, that’s fine, but I think you’re fine holding too.

  39. booya says:

Would you rather have andre williams or hillman for rest of year?

    • Mordacious Levator says:
      (link)

@booya: PPR or not could be a factor.

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@Dom B: No worries at all. I’m fine with that trade as well, though it might be a slight overpay.

Why so low on quick? I was looking at him for my flex–but you like Bradshaw better?

  43. Mordacious Levator says:

1.so in flex in standard ivory is still over beckham? i know ranking but i’m having an ugly time explaining this to to co-owner of team. Green Lip’d windbag seems to have no idea how to run a football team and continues to never give carries to Ivory even though Ivory is great every time he gets a lot of them
    2. in PPR Ivory and Vereen are still over Ingram (i’m guessing this might change after ingram has a good week). i hope so since with fall of stacy (i did get mason in this league too) and ingram being ranked so low, i’m still having to start vereen and ivory in 2 PPR’s. Even with having Ingram.
    3. interesting to see SD ranked highly this week. i’m able to waiver them over IND (who i just dropped CIN for back on wed)

    • Mordacious Levator says:
      (link)

@Mordacious Levator: also in #1 royal is an option, but i would think beckham should be ranked higher (and is)

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mordacious Levator: With the weather, could be a run heavy night. Yeah, I like those two still. Indy is fine too, the separation isn’t as big as the rankings suggest.

      • Mordacious Levator says:
        (link)

@Jay: vereen play is doing well for first time in a long time.

  44. Zandy says:

      @Zandy: I’m okay with that.

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

@Jay: thanks man! now bellicheck will use michael hoomanamanui as rb the entire game

        • Zandy says:
          (link)

@Zandy: so….. drop bolden and gray next week? i guess maybe keep gray but def no bolden

          • Jay

            Jay says:
            (link)

@Zandy: Yeah, they didn’t seem interested in using him.

  45. Dom B says:
    (link)

My WR Kelvin Benjamin, Roddy White, Michael Crabtree, Malcolm Floyd, TY Hilton RB Eddie Lacy, Andre Ellington, Fred Jax, and Doug Martin should I do this trade me send Eddie Lacy and Malcolm Floyd for his lesean McCoy and Branden lafell

    • Dom B says:
      (link)

@Dom B: or wait till next week when i lacy could lose all fantasy relevance

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@Dom B: I like the McCoy side there, sure.

  46. Tom says:

Jay non ppr, would you trade J Hill and T Williams for Michel Floyd?

Murray, Ellington, Bradshaw, Hill, Mathews coming off IR soon!
    D. Thomas, Benjamin, Williams, Beckham, Gordon

Was thinking about picking up Randle as handcuff.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Tom: I would hold.

  47. smegma says:
    (link)

Have some byes to deal with at RB this week:

Drop Ertz (have j.reed), MJD, Taliaferro or Hyde for J.Hill and/or Storm? Your rankings have Hill above Storm – start Hill this week?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@smegma: MJD for Hill. And yup.

  48. PPR I own Cooks and want to trade him for Golden Tate. Good or bad idea?
