We now have two 2-time winners in our Razzball leagues! Commenters Calogera and D_Fresh. Mr. Fresh had a miraculous win over Clodbuster when Chris Johnson pulled out that garbage time TD. Fake football giveth and fake football taketh away. Our guys both tooketh away 45 bucks a piece! Again! Congrats guys.
Last week we filled 2 ten team leagues pretty quickly so I put together three for this week. Hopefully some day I will win one! You can join up here. And remember if you haven’t played before you get a ten dollar bonus for signing up through any of the links below.
Razzball League 1, Razzball League 2, and Razzball League 3
My FanDuel teams in the Razzball Leagues have been less than stellar. And that is an understatement. Looking back at my strategy, I think I am being too predictable. And as we know in these kinds of games (like our Weekly Contest) the most predictable is usally the least productive. Yes, on the average the studs are going to win out long term. Would you rather have Dwayne Bowe or Miles Austin on your H2H team? No need to answer that, but last week on your FanDuel team you sure did. A team of Kolb, Torain, Foster, Maclin, Bowe and Watson would have killed last weekend, but when you can choose from Peyton, Gore, CJ, AJ, Austin, Gates, it’s hard not to want to max out your FanDuel salary cap to fit the studs on your team, but that hasn’t been working for me.
I also have noticed a trend, especially for WRs to see extra attention after a big game. Well, this is just human nature. Running backs can have the defense bring more men into the box, but as long as there is a semblance of a passing game that is difficult to do for the whole game. And as long as quarterbacks are passing the ball they have a chance at a good game. Receivers can be stifled fairly easily with safety help or a stud cornerback.
QB Drew Brees: He gets the Browns at home. I also like Philip Rivers at home, but only if Antonio Gates plays.
RB Ray Rice: He was given a ton of work and it looks like McGahee is in the dog house or on the trade block and Buffalo is absolutely awful at run defense.
RB Frank Gore: I’m not in love with the running back matchups this week, but Carolina has not been great at run defense and Gore is the focal point of the Niners offense.
I also like Peyton Hillis vs New Orleans, Knowshon Moreno vs Oakland, Steven Jackson vs Tampa Bay and Chris Johnson vs. Philadelphia.
WR Jeremy Maclin: This goes against my back to back big games theory, but with DJax gone I’m hoping he gets plenty of looks even if he is triple covered.
WR Patrick Crayton: Malcolm Floyd is out and Crayton looked to be more reliable than Davis on Sunday. Oh and they get the Patriots craptastic pass D in southern California.
WR Brandon Lloyd: He seems to get points no matter what and Eddie Royal may be out which would help funnel an extra pass his way.
I also like Johnny Knox vs. Washinton and Larry Fitzgerald vs. Seattle
TE Aaron Hernandez: AHer was on the field longer than any Patriots receiver Sunday and is an integral part of their offense at all times. He also gets a San Diego defense that never covers tight ends.
K Whoever: See ball, kick ball.
D Kansas City Chiefs: If it’s Trent Edwards or David Garrard, I really don’t care. The Chiefs are good at getting the ball and the Jags are sucktastic.
