Well, well, well! I suppose I should have warned Mr. Teeth about our meeting today. But never fear, for I know that scene you just saw was fake news. DonkeyTeeth is a Dr. Pepper man! I suppose I can catch you up on the updates instead. Like, the 2021 RazzBowl is powered by imagination! Whee! And we have backing from financial sponsors [checks notes] Bernie Madoff and Martha Stewart. Wow, what celebrity power! I better stop while I’m ahead. Let’s get to the specifics and get you signed up for your free shot at fantasy super-stardom!Â
What:Â A fantasy football best ball cutline tournament that pits fantasy football celebs from the “industry” against the up-and-coming “Joes and Janes” from the general public. One champion will be crowned and remembered forever on the internets.Â
Who:Â All are welcome! Especially you! But in case you want to hear about the celebrities you can play against, why, it’s none other than the best of the best:
- Razzball’s own Rudy Gamble, Donkey Teeth, BDon, and…ya know…me.
- The Athletic’s Jake Ciely, Derek VanRiper, Nando Di Fino, and Michael Salfino.Â
- Yahoo’s Andy Behrens and Dalton Del Don.Â

- Analysts from Fantrax, QB List, 4for4 Football, Fighting Chance Fantasy, Fantasy Alarm, RotoViz…the list goes on!Â
You may ask: “I’m just a simple anonymous internet commenter, how can I ever hope to defeat EverywhereBlair in a battle of imaginary football management?” Because just last year, “fan” entrant Jerry Janiga fended off an elite squad of fantasy footballers — including our own Donkey Teeth — to win the championship.Â
Where:Â The National Fantasy Football Championship (NFFC) will be hosting this contest on their beautiful, state-of-the-art platform using a slightly modified version of their Cutline Championship.
Why:Â Because we love fantasy football and community! Also, we want to crown the best fantasy footballer in the universe.Â
When:Â Slow snake drafts featuring a 4-hour clock will begin on the NFFC platform on July 19th, 2021.Â
How: All applicants should fill out the form at the bottom of this page. Analysts will be put into one pool, and fans will enter a lottery to play against them in the main event. Make sure to read Razzball football articles, listen to the Razzball football podcasts and video interviews, and follow us on Twitter to increase your chances to enter the main event! There will be a satellite competition that runs for those folk who aren’t selected for the main event, as well! One way or another, you’re playing with us! Here’s another exclamation mark! Entry is free, although every year a side pot has run alongside the competition.
Format: Better Ball Tournament: A version of best ball that features minimal weekly FAAB ($10 per team for the entire season with a minimum of $1 bids) to prevent teams from dying off. Managers will compete in 12-team leagues for the first nine weeks of the season, with the top 3 teams from each league advancing to the RazzBowl Championship Bracket and the next 3 highest scoring teams in each league advancing to the RazzBowl Wild Card Bracket. The bottom half of each league will be eliminated at the end of week 9. Are you confused yet? Good!
Round 1: Weeks 11-13 (scores combined for those 3 weeks + weekly scoring average from Weeks 1-10)Â
The top 30 scoring  RazzBowl Championship Bracket teams after Week 13 advance to Week 14; all other teams from the Championship bracket move to the Wild Card bracket. The top 6 scoring Wild Card teams move up to the Championship bracket; the next 40 advance in the Wild Card bracket. All other teams in the Wild Card bracket are eliminated.Â
Round 2: Week 14 (take each team’s weekly scoring average from Weeks 1-10, plus weekly playoff scoring average, plus your score from Week 14)Â
The top 20 scoring  RazzBowl Championship Bracket teams advance; all other teams move to the Wild Card bracket. The top 4 scoring RazzBowl Wild Card teams move up to the Championship bracket; the next 20 advance in the Wild Card bracket. All other teams in the Wild Card bracket are eliminated.Â
Round 3: Week 15 (take each team’s weekly scoring average from Weeks 1-10, plus weekly playoff scoring average, plus your score from Week 15)Â
The top 14 scoring  RazzBowl Championship Bracket teams advance; all others move to the Wild Card bracket. The top 2 scoring RazzBowl Wild Card team moves up to the Championship bracket; the next 11 advance in the Wild Card bracket. All other teams in the Wild Card bracket are eliminatedÂ
Round 4: Week 16 (take each team’s weekly scoring average from Weeks 1-10, plus weekly playoff scoring average, plus your score from Week 16)Â
The top 9 scoring  RazzBowl Championship Bracket teams advance; all others move to the Wild Card bracket. The top scoring (1) RazzBowl Wild Card team moves up to the RazzBowl Championship Bracket; the next 6 advance in the RazzBowl Wild Card bracket. All other teams in the Wild Card bracket are eliminated.Â
Final Round: Week 17 (take each team’s weekly scoring average from Weeks 1-10, plus weekly playoff scoring average, plus your score from Week 17)Â
10 teams compete in the RazzBowl Championship Bracket for the overall title of 2021 RazzBowl Champion. The remaining Wild Card teams compete in the RazzBowl Wild Card Bracket for the consolation championship.
Roster Positions:Â 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex (RB, WR, TE), 11 Bench
Lineup Submission:Â Leagues will have an optimal scoring format (best ball) for Weeks 1 through 9 where your highest scoring player from each of the 9 starting positions is scored at the end of each week. Then in the RazzBowl Championship Round and RazzBowl Wild Card Tiers of Weeks 10 through 16, all owners must set their starting lineup each week. This is different from the regular season.
