2013 RCL FootballWhen the next meeting of the designers of those inspiration posters goes down, one of them will be forced to suggest a picture of my Writer’s League team when the word “Perfection” comes up.  Perfection is a tricky thing.  On one hand, I’m expected to win every week now, and on the other, screw it I’m 7-0 baby!  I don’t think I’ve ever had a 7-0 team in any competitive leagues in over 10 years of playing fantasy football, it’s a tough feat to accomplish.  The perfect record puts me in a class with only 4 other RCL teams which you can check out atop the full interactive 2013-2014 RCL Standings tab up under “Leagues” that shows you how you’re stacking up against your Razzball competitors in your journey to RCL glory.

RCL Top ScorerTOP SCORER: If you missed this week’s Pod, then you missed that Release the KRAKEN! from the Take On Jaywrong 2 league was the top scoring team through Sunday this week, and it held up through MNF to officially lead the RCL in scoring.  Kraken released!  With big weeks from VJax, Forte and Jacquizz, it was the big game from Jordan Reed as Kraken’s bye-week fill-in for Jimmy Graham that put him over the top with 195.56 points.  I’m pretty sure this was the first week no RCL team topped 200, but that diminishes nothing Kraken!  He moves to 6-1 and atop JayWrong’s second league and gets a very tough matchup against Fish’s Official Team in week 8 to try and keep the #1 spot.  Congrats again Kraken and keep Jay being Wrong!

Razzball Writers League – Another week, and another W!  Sorry Murph, but the moonshine ran dry for ya this week, as Aaron Rodgers and Frank Gore gave me another solid outing with 138 points and a win.  I still haven’t had a “huge” week, but 120 is my lowest point total this year, and the other 6 weeks I’ve been above 133.  Consistency is king!  As well as the right matchups… I would’ve lost to the Reign Maker$ had I been up against them, who led our league in scoring with 175.94 and big weeks from Peyton, Megatron and Harry Douglas.  I’ll look to make it 8-0 against Tehol this week.

JB’s Random Commenter League – Winning is contagious!  I move to 5-2 in my RCL league, eking out a win over Freaks and Geeks and putting up 139 without a single guy going over 20.  My guys were all 17-19, it was like a Freshman dorm party!  Having my second best player in Jimmy Graham on bye, loved getting a win this week and look to go to 6-2 against For Who?  For What? who led the league in scoring this past week with big games from A.J. Green and VJax.  They better cool off next week!  The Green Bastards moved to 6-1 and still sit atop the league, but I’m comin’ for ya!

In-A-Gadda-Da-Wheeden – The best league in the land, Stan Gable led the Wheedens in scoring with 150.10 points led by Rodgers and A.J. Green in a tough 10 point win over the Dead Heads who almost came up with a big upset.  Gable moves to 4-3, while those BarkingBassetHounds maintain their lead with a 6-1 record.  The Hounds go against Jason Pierre Palsy to try and move to 7-1.  You guys rock, Wheedens!

Razzball Rebels – Top scoring went to The White Broncos who have had some big weeks and hits it big again.  With 163 led by the Peyton/Decker/Welker combo, the Broncs move to 4-3.  Last week’s top-scoring Poon Jab got another win to move to 6-1 and will look to stay atop the league standings this week against Gavros.

Monday Morning QB’s – Week 5’s top scorer Makka Pakka is at it again, leading the MM QBs in scoring with 174 points led by Peyton, Forte and Jacquizz.  The win moves them to 5-2, while the kitchen stinks in the luck of the decade moves to 6-1 despite only putting up 87 points and beating HUSKERS by 2.  He won that game by the tear of Cutler’s groin!  Kitchen looks to go to 7-1 this week if he can get by the Naysayer’s.

Rancho Rajneesh – Cheeseburger Picnic led the Ranchos this week moving to 2-4, but the headline is still ReadOptionForDummies who got another win this week to move to 7-0 and stay atop the RCL overall standings.  Over 100 points better than the field as of last week (not sure if that holds up this week – standings will be up soon!), ROFD is looking like the RCL team to beat right now.  With a core of Jamaal Charles, Peyton and A.J. Green, he’s going to be a contender all year.  C’mon Ranchos!  Knock him off the pedestal!

Murphatron’s RCL – A tight week of scoring in Murph’s league, the Feverish Beavers edged out the top scoring spot and also moved to 5-2, the best record in the league.  So much parity!  Megatron comprised a big chunk of the Beavers’ points this week, and they’ll look to roll tide past the Doughrollers in week 8.

The Shituation Room – Another league with a tight spread of scoring, One Potato Two actually led the league in scoring by three potatoes with 156 points led by Peyton, Forte, and a very astute start of Brandon Gibson.  Nice call, Potato!  The spuds move to 5-2 along with Pops’s Team, who leads the league and has 7 more potatoes, er points, than the spuds.

Hernandez Hit Men – By 0.86 points, scott’s Team led the Hit Men in scoring this week, led by his Lions in Stafford in Megatron.  Scott moves to 5-2 and second place in the league, while Caballo remains in first place moving to 6-1.  Caballo is looking at a ton of byes in week 8, so it’ll be an uphill climb to stay with only one loss against a close to full strength Raynor Shine.

Pabst & Razz – Another league where the top scorer was determined by under a point, Team Pope gets the Pabst Blue Ribbon this week with 154.30 points led by Aaron Rodgers and Gore.  Pope moves to 3-4 while Turrible moves into first at 5-2 with his team playing, well, not turrible.

A League of RCL Thrones – Scoring was low across the entire Thrones league, I guess winter is coming, but CreanNCrimson’s Team gets another win moving to 6-1 and leads the league.  Smokin’ a Blount was the only high-scoring team with 155 points led by Forte and Decker.  CreanNCrimson is looking at a tough matchup projections wise (but yea, those are pretty worthless) against The Hound in week 8.  But I will never bet against the Hound – their mantra is “killing is the best joy there is”!

RCLBBWSVU – Huge week from More Cowbells, putting up 181 points led by Luck, Megatron and Gore to move them to 3-4.  Dammit Anal Chiropractor, change the picture!  Dammit man!  Haha.  So you didn’t lead the league in points, but you’re still in first place at 5-2, does that warrant a picture change yet?!?!?!  Anal C will look to go to 6-2 against the Facial Network, but I’m cheering for the Zuckerbergs if that picture doesn’t change!  That picture violates Facebook’s Code of Ethics or whatever the hell it is!

My Wife Frowns Upon This – If You Ain’t First showed the other 11 teams that they ain’t first this week, leading the league in scoring with a whopping 189 points led by Forte and Vjax.  Unfortunately for the season as a whole though, If You Ain’t First, well, ain’t first at 3-4 as One I’d Willy leapfrogs into first after smacking down Sex Panther By Odeon in one of the RCL’s biggest matchups to date.  Unfortunately when you score 87 points – 5% of the time you lose every time.  One I’d Willy will[y] look to go to 7-1 against Christopher’s Team this week.

Cracklin’ Brats RCL – 4 teams were very close in scoring in the low 150s, but the biggest week came from Go Pack with 154.20.  Unfortunately for Planet 10, they were one of those top 4 teams but lost a soul-crusher by 0.08 points to the Nefarious Bandits.  Planet 10 is on the phone with Elias for a stat correction as we speak!  Greg Jennings literally needed one more yard to win it for Planet 10 on MNF, but unfortunately for Jennings and his team, Josh Freeman blew. Despite the terrible loss, Planet 10 is still in 1st and will look to stay atop the league against the now 3rd place Go Pack in a great week 8 throwdown.

Bobby Boucher’s Water Bottle – Huge week from the Never Nudes who used the power of the cutoffs to knock off Straight Cash Homie with 182 points led by RG “confidence man” 3, Eric “buy-curious” Decker and Vincent “country music singer” Jackson.  Never Nudes is still disappointing Carl Weathers with a 3-4 record, but the huge game between the Cowtown Russellers and Dougie Fresh’s Team ended up with Cowtown getting knocked out of the ranks of the undefeated and Dougie Fresh passing Cowtown and moving into first with both at 6-1.  The big week from Megatron sealed the deal for Dougie, as they’ll hope to stay atop Cowtown and the rest of the Waterboys against Kaep N’ Crunch this week.

The Podcast Kingdom – The Growling Bratwursts led the Podcasters in points this week with 174.40 points led by A.J. Green and VJax.  The Brats move to 3-4, while Hold Mah D&^%##^ holds down the top spot yet again at 6-1.  They’ll look to keep having the league holding it, going against Kickalicious Suh in week 8.

Nick’s Bad JB Impersonation – Dude, the Pops’s teams are on a rampage with Pops’s Perfect Team leading Nick’s Bad Impersonation in scoring with 152.18 points led by a Stafford/Megatron connection.  At 4-3, Pops moves into 3rd with the other Straight Cash Homey squad sliding into first at 5-2.  Ca$h will look to go to 6-2 against YouSayAddai ISayHelu this week.

Any Given Sunday – Joe Namath got sooooooo drunk, and helped Sexy Suzy Kolber II go from 3rd to 1st after knocking off Jedi Mind Tricks this week.  If only Namath had those Jedi mind tricks that night!  However, Horse Collars led the league in scoring with 165.96 points led by Megatron and Gore.  Sexy Kolber will hope to avoid getting a Stafford Infection this week and go 7-1 and stay on top the league.  Namath said he likes her on top…

Booty Hunters Unlimited – The Duke led the league in scoring this week, with John Wayne Hernandez putting up 170 points with an elite combo of receivers in Megatron and A.J. Green moving him to 4-3.  Another win for the Street Sweepers has him in first place at 5-2, and they’ll look to tighten their grip on the #1 spot against Bill’s Team this week.

Take On Jaywrong – In JayWrong’s original RCL, the elite Yeshcheese knocked off the commish and moves to the upper echelon of RCLers thus far at 7-0.  With 172 points led by RGIII and Forte, Yesh proved to everyone their dominance by leading the league in points this week by 20.  Nothing against ya Yesh, but I’ll be cheering for your week 8 foe Jagen H’ghar since he’s clearly the coolest Game of Thrones character.  That owner is a cool dude.

The Razzbro League – Another big week from the Guru and his Scotch Fueled Guru squad who led his league in scoring with 170 points led by VJax and Gore.  If only you could bring some of that magic in the Writer’s League!  QB Nation will try and take down Guru from the #1 spot in the league this week.

The Shadynastys – Uuuggghhhh, Murder Castle, really?! You couldn’t even top 100 this week!  Sigh.  Despite my efforts to pump up the ‘nastys, no one can beat Gtoxitis who at 7-0 stays with the elite RCL teams that are unbeaten.  It didn’t really matter who Gtox played, as his 152 points led the league in scoring, and Gtox is a full 190 points better than second place in the league standings.  Running away with it!  Big Blue’s Team will be the next team to have their hand at Gtox, and with Luck and Andre Johnson on bye plus loosing Reggie Wayne, Gtox’s reign of terror might be coming to an end.

Razzball Experts League – And another of the unbeatens got beaten this week with the Gridiron Experts knocking off Chad Scott – DLF moving Chad to 6-1.  However, the Rushmore Beekeepers remain unbeaten and stay in the top end of the RCL leaderboard.  Not only did the Beekeepers stay undefeated, but they also led the ‘perts in scoring with 145.80 points.  On a sad note, Sky’s Razzball squad lost a 1.08 point heartbreaker.  Tough year for Sky in that league!  Rushmore will look to stay unbeaten against Nathan – RevelSports this week.  Me and Gtox and Yeshcheese and ReadOption are cheering for ya Nathan!

One More RCL – Second straight week for Jay Feeley is my QB atop the One More RCL points scorers, with 180.94 big ones led by Peyton, Forte, and the breakout game from Harry Douglas.  Tough loss for PC Load Letter, haha love that team name… If it’s any consolation, I laugh every time I see your team name… Kobayashi Maru remains on top of the league at 6-1, and has a tough matchup against the 5-2 ‘Murica in week 8.

Shoot your RCL smack talk below and thanks again for joining the RCL Football Leagues this year.  And if the thought of RCL ending in only a few short months bums you out, head over to RCL Basketball to keep your fix going until Summer 2014 and start a new league today! Good luck in week 8!
