Let’s take a quick look at the fantasy-relevant injuries that will impact your week 3 lineups.
Jason Witten is a go for Dallas and Miles Austin is as well. Both had full participation in practice and should be in lineups with a tasty matchup this week with Tampa Bay.
Steven Jackson‘s groin leaves him as questionable for the Rams’ game with Chicago. If he doesn’t go, Daryl Richardson gets a boost as does Danny Amendola when the Rams have to go to the air against a questionable Chicago secondary. Matt Forte will not play in this game for the Bears.
Calvin Johnson is listed on the Lions’ injury report but is expected to play and demolish Tennessee on Sunday. With TE Tony Schneffler not participating in practices, Brandon Pettigrew should see more targets.
Pierre Garcon is still limited in Washington and should be held off of starting rosters.
Jamaal Charles should be a go for the KC-NO game for the Chiefs. Drew Brees (ankle) is expected to play but Marques Colston is listed as questionable. Colston didn’t even get targeted in the first half against Carolina so his situation bears monitoring.
The Jets will expect Darrelle Revis back against Miami so owners of Brian Hartline should tamper their expectations this week.
Dwight Freeney is back at practice for the Colts so Jacksonville QB Blaine Gabbert will be facing additional pressure on the rush. LB Pat Angerer is still out and takes a cog out of the Indy defensive machine.
DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Avant participated in practice this week while Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper were limited. Check the late-game inactives and see who Michael Vick will be passing to against a hungry Arizona defense. If your lineup has to be in by Sunday’s first kickoffs, make sure you have a plan B since this game could be a crapshoot as to who plays.
In Atlanta, both Roddy White and Julio Jones were limited in practice but are expected to play. If one of them doesn;t go, Matt Ryan‘s value takes a hit. San Diego isn’t much better as TE Antonio Gates is questionable. Phillip Rivers really needs Gates especially after he was a late scratch in week two.
For the Steelers, Rashard Mendenhall practiced this week and might get in the game at Oakland. Safety Troy Polamalu is still up in the air with his calf injury.
Finally, on Monday night check on Greg Jennings and his groin. He is questionable but you likely won’t have anyone left to replace him with against Seattle.
