Let’s take a quick look at the fantasy-relevant injuries that will impact your week 3 lineups.

Jason Witten is a go for Dallas and Miles Austin is as well. Both had full participation in practice and should be in lineups with a tasty matchup this week with Tampa Bay.

Steven Jackson‘s groin leaves him as questionable for the Rams’ game with Chicago. If he doesn’t go, Daryl Richardson gets a boost as does Danny Amendola when the Rams have to go to the air against a questionable Chicago secondary. Matt Forte will not play in this game for the Bears.

Calvin Johnson is listed on the Lions’ injury report but is expected to play and demolish Tennessee on Sunday. With TE Tony Schneffler not participating in practices, Brandon Pettigrew should see more targets.

Pierre Garcon is still limited in Washington and should be held off of starting rosters.

Jamaal Charles should be a go for the KC-NO game for the Chiefs. Drew Brees (ankle) is expected to play but Marques Colston is listed as questionable. Colston didn’t even get targeted in the first half against Carolina so his situation bears monitoring.

The Jets will expect Darrelle Revis back against Miami so owners of Brian Hartline should tamper their expectations this week.

Dwight Freeney is back at practice for the Colts so Jacksonville QB Blaine Gabbert will be facing additional pressure on the rush. LB Pat Angerer is still out and takes a cog out of the Indy defensive machine.

DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Avant participated in practice this week while Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper were limited. Check the late-game inactives and see who Michael Vick will be passing to against a hungry Arizona defense. If your lineup has to be in by Sunday’s first kickoffs, make sure you have a plan B since this game could be a crapshoot as to who plays.

In Atlanta, both Roddy White and Julio Jones were limited in practice but are expected to play. If one of them doesn;t go, Matt Ryan‘s value takes a hit. San Diego isn’t much better as TE Antonio Gates is questionable. Phillip Rivers really needs Gates especially after he was a late scratch in week two.

For the Steelers, Rashard Mendenhall practiced this week and might get in the game at Oakland. Safety Troy Polamalu is still up in the air with his calf injury.

Finally, on Monday night check on Greg Jennings and his groin. He is questionable but you likely won’t have anyone left to replace him with against Seattle.

    Celek or Witten? PPR.

@CL, Celek since the Eagles are down Maclin.

    Any news on Austin Collie?

@JR, Collie had the green light but concussion symptoms showed up again mid-week, per the Indianapolis Star. It’s still up in the air, but Ilan towards him being out this week.

Any updates on what Garçon is dealing with? I’ve heard turf toe but it has to be more serious if it’s keeping him out this long….

@Murph, All we keep hearing is foot injury. Could be turf toe, could be a sprain, could just be Mike Shanahan being, well, Mike Shanahan. I would hold for one more week and check the wire. Remember that Washington plays Tampa next week and it could be a big-time game if he;s healthy.

Desperate at WR this week. 0.5 PPR, start McCluster @ NO, or drop T. Young to start one of the following: Hankerson v CIN, Little v BUF or Sanders @ OAK?

    • Andrew Nordmeier

@Steve Stevenson, McCluster. The Saints’ defense hasn’t stopped anything so far and this game could be a total shootout.

BUF-CLE looks to be a running festival. Sanders doesn’t get involved often enough in my opinion. I wonder how much RGIII will need to throw against the Bengals to begin with.

motherfucking Garcon! again! why me? Anyway, I need some quick input. If Steven Jackson is unable to go and RIchardson gets that start, does he become a better start than Shonn Greene? Or will the tough bears d be to much for the rookie?

    • Andrew Nordmeier

@Tehol Beddict, I’d go with Richardson. I’d rather have a healthy player than a guy who looked like he was getting his crunk on in the second quarter against the Steelers after the big hit. Miami has also been a tough nut for Greene to bust as he has ZERO career TDs against the Fins.

    Should I even think about dropping D. Brown RB(IND) for M.Leshoure RB(DET)?

    14 team league, non-PPR

    Thanks in advance

@johnrambojr, I wouldn’t. Brown is going to be the back on an Indy team that’s better than expected so far.

LeShoure has played as many downs in the NFL regular season as you have and will still need time to get up to speed. And Leshoure has the risk of possible legal issues as we saw in the offseason.

What’s up? Week three is upon us already. Crazy quick! So, teams have an idea of where they may be while others are freaking. So, I’m targeting the freak outs (0-2 teams) and planning on working trades. I have two brewing and one maybe, but I need help landing on the winning side of them.

First, wide receiver Fitzgerald. The owner wants to trade for one of my wide receivers.
Second, another 0-2 team has Mcfadden, C. Johnson, and Lloyd. He’s open to here a bid. Not on all three , but at least one maybe two.
Third, the owner of Bradshaw checked in to see about A. Brown. His other running backs are Charles and Greene. So, I know he would want A. Brown. The only pieces he has that I like are Cruz and Harvin.

So, here’s an intriguing puzzle for Razzball expert minds. Can you please help me solve?

Ten team standard qb, wr, wr, wr, rb, rb, te, flex (w/r/t), k, def
My starting line up this week: Qb- E. Manning, Wr- J. Jones, Wr- S. Johnson, Wr- K. Britt, Rb- A. Foster, Rb- BJGE, Te- Pettigrew, Flex (w/r/t)- S. Jackson, K- Hanson, Def- Arizona (rotate weekly).
    My bench: Rb’s- D. Brown, F. Jackson, M. Leshoure, B. Tate, D. Richarson, A. Brown, Wr- P. Garcon

@Jason, Wow, this is like the fantasy football equivalent of an essay question. That said, here’s my answer.

I’m not big on Fitzgerald because he has not had a good quarterback since Kurt Warner. I live about 45 miles from the Cardinals’ stadium and the stench of the QB play is quite strong up here. If he wants to swap for a WR of yours, start with Britt and see if he’ll bite on the value of the name.

For the second question, dangle Steven Jackson out there and see if you can land McFadden or C. Johnson (if it’s Calvin, yes; if it’s Chris, no).

Part three: This is the sell-high moment on Brown, so go for as much as you can get. If you can snag Cruz, that would be a deal of the season. Harvin would also be a nice pickup. Either way, you have the right guy to sell Brown to.

with mendenhall still out and the steelers facing a strong pass/weak rush defense, what do you see redman putting up

    • Andrew Nordmeier

      Andrew Nordmeier says:
      (link)

@Tim, I would look for about 90-95 yards. A touchdown is also very reasonable as well.

He’ll get his carries but Oakland looks weak on the ground allowing nearly 150 a game so far.

  9. JMAC says:

Which side of this trade would you rather be on Michael Bush for Chris Johnson?

    • Andrew Nordmeier

      Andrew Nordmeier says:
      (link)

@JMAC, Lean towards Bush since he, you know, gains yards. CJ keeps finding himself getting hit behind the line of scrimmage and it renders him ineffective.

To me it’s a tossup, but who would you roll with this week between Britt and Gates (WRs and TEs are the same in this particular league)?
