So this week, we go to the quarterback position. Why? Because I sorta say so, and I’m the one typing.  Show of hands, how many people are still rolling with Matt Ryan?  I see one up front, a few shy kids in the back, and a high school kid just giving me the finger.  Well, in my estimation, a lot of you still are.  So here is my spotlight this week… instead of pretending that Matt Ryan is going to turn it around against the top ranked defense, why not look at a quarterback that is owned by a third of you, and started by just a fifth.  My fellow gents and rude high school kid, take a look at the Ryan Tannehill show.  I know he isn’t for everyone, but there are some of us that have a question mark there.  Tannehill is owned in just 35% of the Yahoo universe, and only started in 14%. The past two weeks he has outscored Stafford, Romo, Ryan, Geno Smith… ahh, you caught me.  You were paying attention.  The list of quarterbacks is pretty long, and it doesn’t start over those three definite startable options.  So stick around as I convince you to start a lower percentage quarterback over a fantasy stalwart.

Ryan Tannehill | FindTheBest

Tannehill comes in with back-to-back impressive fantasy games with 2/1 TD/INT rate over the last two games. The thing that is letting me pump him up more is his completion rate is over 70%, and if you didn’t know, that is good for fantasy.  Now, what’s great for fantasy is he is throwing the ball more per game, at a rate of almost 37 attempts per game.  You do the math there.  It’s basically an easy 250 yard game every week.  Now, go look at who is playing this week, that’s right… the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Who in all their profound beauty, are a sucktitude of fantasy crapiness on a defensive level?  They rank bottom three in passing yards per game given up, bottom eight in passing attempts given up per game, and are surrendering eleven yards per pass attempt.  You see what goes on here when the hamster gets on that wheel for a little overtime?  Numbers and facts, facts and numbers.  The other reason I have liked Tannehill over the past two games is he is nimble of foot lately, 9 rushes for 97 yards… that’s a huge number my friend.

So to regroup our focus, from the beginning, your starting QB is bleh, and you can prolly start a smaller name and get decent value.  I am here to tell you yes, yes, yes.  The Jags are going nowhere fast, and the battle of the America’s dangle will be the end of the playoff hopes for the Jags. I know it’s sad, but it’s never too early to eliminate one team.  So Tannehill seems to be gellin’ with the offense and getting some good swag points with Wallace, Landry Clay and the boys  So look for a better than average fantasy week and prolly better than the one you are hoping for from someone else.

Smokey Says: 26/39, 276 YDS, 2 TD’s, 1 INT and 4 CAR, 38 YDS, 1 TD.

I’m one of those shy kids at the back who’s been rolling with Ryan in a 12-team non-ppr league. Unfortunately, Tannehill isn’t available in my league. Luckily, Palmer is.

The catch is that I’d have to drop someone with decent upside to pick up Palmer (that’d probably be Patterson, although I also have Donnell and Rainey on my bench). How god awful do you expect Ryan to be against the Lions in Detroit? Bad enough that it’s worth giving up a lottery ticket to roll with Palmer instead?

    • Smokey

      Smokey says:

@friar: Would Rainey or Donnell ever start for you again this year? Palmer for either if the answer above is no would make sense. If you have 3 Rb’s ahead of Rainey and 1 te that has had their bye already than it makes sense.

I have Cowboys D, keep them it looks like Colt McCoy will be the QB for washington on Monday in Dallas

Or drop for Texans D who will face Tennesee & zach mettenbeeger will be the Titans QB & on top of that looks like clowney will be back on this week too

@Jake: I kinda like having a monday team in the holster just to give me rooting interest in the game. Houston prolly just a tick above for me from a fanatsy perspective though.

Shallow league…half ppr in a 4 way tie for last two playoff spots (4 of 8 make it). Worried about Green ROS. Bye weeks playing factor in these offers. Thoughts on the following move:

Give- L. Bell, AJ Green, Smith Sr.
    Receive: McCoy, Sanders, Wallace

    or

    Give- L. Bell, Green
    Receive- McCoy and Sanders/Wallace/J. Thomas

    • Smokey

      Smokey says:
      (link)

@Gio: first offer is too much imo, second is ok if you can get Julius Thomas and have the adequate replacements at WR to offset losing Green

      • Gio says:
        (link)

        @Smokey:

Replacement would be mike Floyd. My 2nd RB is Foster.

@Gio: yea u good then unless u have a top 3 te already you do the second trade.

      • TrashJuice says:

@Smokey: thanks for the quick reply. My other two RBs are LeSean McCoy and Joique Bell. Other flex considerations are Andre Holmes, Wes Welker and Torrey Smith… not love those three this week.

Kyle Orton, Cam Newton or Big Ben (Pit)?

@chris L: Newton out of three, none are ideal though. I think Newton gets a score with his legs to help his cause

Hey dude, I received a trade proposal & seeing your thoughts on it.

    I’d trade my ben Tate

    .& I’d receive golden tate

    — my RB’s are ; Gio bernard, ahmad Bradshaw, Braden Oliver, jeremy hill, tre Mason , denard robinson & ben Tate.

    — my WR’s; Demaryius thomas , michael Crabtree, cordarrelle patterson, Kelvin benjamin, , Andrew hawkins & odell beckham jr

    His team:

His RBs: lesean mccoy, jerick mckinon, Steven Jackson, Matt asiata, bryce brown, Charles sims, & bryce brown

His wr’s; AJ green, jordy Nelson, golden Tate, Eddie royal, Kendal wright, larry Fitzgerald .

    — if I can’t get golden Tate for ben tate
Then looking at other owners around the league

    – my ben Tate & I’d get mike Wallace.
    This owner has :
Demarco Murray, darren McFadden, Pierre Thomas, james Starks, andre Williams, Montee ball, Jonathan Stewart, antonio brown, roddy white, mike Wallace, brandin cooks, davante adams, Dwayne bowe, Brian quick

    ———

My Ben Tate for michael floyd
    – this owner has jamaal Charles, vereen, knile davis, carlos Hyde, Dez bryant, maclin, garcon , michael floyd, Keenan Allen, andre Holmes, Josh gordon, justin Hunter,

    —–

My Ben Tate for desean jackson
    – this owner has marshawn lynch, alf morris, reggie bush (who may not play this week)
& that’s all of his rb’s. Then his wrs; Desean jackson, Edleman, eric decker, amendola, hakeem nicks, Rueben randle, & Welker

    — or would you do a potentially major deal where I can get Marshawn lynch? Based on my team who’d you propose to get lynch.

    • Smokey

      Smokey says:
      (link)

@Tim: messing with my ADD with this long post lol. I like it for either Desean or Tate the best out of ones listed. I’m hesitant on the Tate deal because who knows when Megatron comes back what his fantasy production will be.

For Marshawn I am sure you will get butt assaulted based on your team not having that top flight 2 WR to deal with a Tate or a Bradshaw, and you want to keep DT and Benji. See how much ODB Jr can fetch ya with tate and/or Bradshaw. But if this was my team I would try and get Lynch above trading Tate for a WR first.

        (link)

        @Smokey:

Thanks man, lol sorry for the long post.
I was originally proposed w/ the trade of me golden Tate for my Ben Tate yesterday – he didn’t give me a chance, after a few hours it was taken off the table. I tried sending the trade back a couple times since last night but havent heard anything.

        – I agree about aiming for beast mode

  9. Dom B says:

Should I trade Delaine Walker or is he still a TE 1 should I trade d.Walker and Percy harvin for Jordan Reed

    • Smokey

      Smokey says:
      (link)

@Dom B: That’s an awful lot for a slight upgrade, Harvin might have more value in Jets system I would hold for now. Reed is a wet fart away from being injured… again

Flex start Roddy White, Doug Martin, Malcolm Floyd

@Dom B: any one but Martin lol. Ill say White.

  11. Ted says:

Hey man would you do any of these deals?
& which side do you like better?

    — deal 1

I send ben Tate & denard robinson
& I get TY Hilton.– I doubt this would happen this owner already has good RBs

    —deal 2:
I send ben Tate & either denard robinson or michael Crabtree
    & I’d receive Alshon jeffery.

    — deal 3:
I send ben Tate , denard Robinson & michael Crabtree
& I’d receive Alshon Jeffery plus either mike Evans Or Vincent jackson.

–the owner of deal 2 & 3 is weak at RB with Trent Richardson, has joique bell but also has roy Helu & doug martin.
His wrs are megatron, Jeffery, terrance Williams , mike Evans, Emmanuel sanders & v jax.

    Lastly:

    — I shouldn’t even try w/ this owner because he sends everyone horrible trsdes ; he wanted my demaryius for his bernard Pierce a few weeks back.

But the WR of his I’d target would be mike Wallace.

His RBs are; demarco Murray, DMC, Pierre Thomas, andre Williams, starks , & Jonathan Stewart. & Montee ball.

His wrs are; antonio brown, roddy white, mike Wallace , Brian quick, brandin cooks, davante adams,& bowe

    Basically be my Ben Tate
    & I’d receive mike Wallace

      @Ted: 1. Doubtful they accept
2.Like it for you, doubt they accept
3.same, like it for you, dount they accept and take V Jax

If your desperate at WR, which I don’t think your in the gutter that deal makes sense.
