Nothing quite like week 1. Wings, beer, football, o crap, I’m starting to sound like a BW3 commercial. Of course, after week 1, we have the crazy over reactions that accompany our first set of real data from results on the field. To help you make those tough calls, I’m going to break down player and team snaps each week, and hopefully give you a better idea who is for real and who was just a 1 week pop up. I’m still playing with the format, so if you like this or don’t like it, let me know in the comments. If you want to see all snap counts Tuesday morning when I start looking at them, you can always sign up for the Razzball subscription.

ARI

  • Interesting: Chase Edmonds had only 6 more snaps than James Conner. Conner didn’t receive a single target in the passing game, but did get 4 more carries. All things equal, we want the guy involved in this passing game, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Conner gets the goal line work.
  • Keep an eye on: A.J. Green out snapped Christian Kirk by 16. Worth keeping an eye on as Kirk looked good in this game and AJG did not.

ATL

  • Interesting: Russell Gage had 30 more snaps than Olamide Zaccheaus. The whole Falcons offense looked off, but Gage is the WR2, for whatever that’s worth in this situation.
  • Keep an eye on: Kyle Pitts (69%) and Hayden Hurst (61%) both played similar snaps and had the same number of targets. Not loving the time share here, but Pitts is still young and Hurst is a great blocker, don’t freak out (yet

BAL

  • Interesting: Mark Andrews played on 81% of the snaps. He did that once last year. MAndrews will be fine.
  • Keep an eye on: Week 1 Sammy Watkins shows up for the 3rd year in a row. Marquise Brown may not have been 100% in this game, but worth noting that it was Watkins who lead the team in snaps.

BUF

  • Interesting: Diggs, Beasley, and Sanders were within 2 snaps of each other. Gabriel Davis was just above 50%. Davis gets the TD and is possibly the big play threat (other than Diggs) in this offense, but hard to trust him in week 2.
  • Keep an eye on: Pretty easy one here. Zack Moss was a healthy inactive. Whether it was some kind of punishment or just a roster decision, I can’t say, but Devin Singletary with all the work in this offense could be somewhat interesting.

CAR

  • Interesting: D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson had the same number of snaps. Terrace Marshall Jr. was clearly the 3rd option in the passing game with 53%.
  • Keep an eye on: Ian Thomas and Dan Arnold had essentially the same number of snaps. The trio of Tommy Tremble, Colin Thompson, and Giovanni Ricci each had 12. We’ll see if the Panthers continue to run 5 tight ends out there, but I wouldn’t trust any of them for week 2.

CHI

  • Interesting: Cole Kmet had 51 snaps to Jimmy Graham’s 14. It’s Kmet’s job. Time’s fun when you’re having flies, eh Kermet? Wokka wokka wokka.
  • Keep an eye on: Darnell Mooney lead the Bears WRs in snaps. Cuts have to be made, I get it, but you may be back out there picking him up again if the Bears make the decision to move on to Justin Fields.

CIN

  • Interesting: Joe Mixon had 54 snaps to Samaje Perine’s 15. Mixon stans, ASSEMBLE!
  • Keep an eye on: Rookie Ja’Marr Chase lead the WR corps for the Bengals. Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd were out there for the same amount.

CLE

  • Interesting: Donavan Peoples-Jones was 2nd among WRs in snaps with Odell Beckham Jr. sitting this one out. Odell is out again this week, so if you’re looking for a dart throw, maybe DPJ?
  • Keep an eye on: Austin Hooper and David Njoku were within 3 snaps of each other, and Harrison Bryant played half the snaps that Hooper did. Hard to trust any of them for the moment.

DAL

  • Interesting: Despite the disappointing fantasy day, and Tony Pollard looking better at times, Ezekiel Elliott still was in on 83% of the snaps.
  • Keep an eye on: With Michael Gallup leaving the game, it was Cedrick Wilson that was next in line for snaps. With CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper taking a lot of attention, Wilson could be a decent flyer.

DEN

  • Interesting: Melvin Gordon III and Javonte Williams had the same number of snaps. Full on time share until otherwise notified.
  • Keep an eye on: Tim Patrick was 2nd in snaps and doubled K.J. Hamler’s snaps. Patrick is the play here.

DET

  • Interesting: D’Andre Swift had 63 snaps to Jamaal Williams 32. They’re sharing, but Swift is the only child and demands 2/3 to Jamaal’s 1/3.
  • Keep an eye on: Kalif Raymond lead the team in snaps. Amon-Ra St. Brown was 2nd, and Trinity Benson was 3rd. Quintez Cephus came in 5th behind Tyrell Williams (left the game), but did see 6/7 of his targets in the 2nd half. I wouldn’t want to start any of these WRs for the time being, but will say that Cephus was the only one that impressed.

GB

  • Interesting: Aaron Jones lead the team in snaps, but A.J. Dillon and Kylin Hill split the remainder.
  • Keep an eye on: Davante, Lazard, and MVS were all within 4 snaps of each other. Randall Cobb, Amari Rodgers, and Malik Taylor each got the same (15), which was less than half of the snaps of the other 3.

HOU

  • Interesting: I can’t say that Houston is going to ever have a lead the rest of the season, but in this game, Mark Ingram lead the team in snaps and carries. Phillip Lindsay (20) and David Johnson (22) split snaps and Rex Burkhead snuck in 10.
  • Keep an eye on: Brandin Cooks lead the team, but Nico Collins (43) and Chris Conley (40) were about the same. Danny Amendola only had 17 snaps, but made the most of them. Keep an eye on his snaps this week. He was late to join the team, so his touches could be on the rise.

IND

  • Interesting: Jonathan Taylor had 42 snaps, Nyheim Hines had 34. Taylor had 8 more carries. While Hines had 1 more target, they were both tied for the team lead in receptions.
  • Keep an eye on: Michael Pittman Jr. and Zach Pascal were the primary WRs in this game. Campbell was a clear 3rd with 23 less snaps than Pascal.

JAC

  • Interesting: Despite Hyde out touching JRob, James Robinson had 64% of the snaps to Carlos Hyde’s 34%.
  • Keep an eye on: James O’Shaughnessy was on the field for 81% of the snaps and was 2nd on the team in receptions.

KC

  • Interesting: Clyde Edwards-Helaire was in for 73% of the snaps, next was Darrel Williams at 22%, and then Jerick McKinnon had only 4 snaps (6%).
  • Keep an eye on: After Tyreek, Demarcus Robinson (75%) and Mecole Hardman (70%) had about the same amount of snaps with Byron Pringle far behind at under 20%.

LAC

  • Interesting: Austin Ekeler was in on 58% of the snaps, Larry Rountree II had just over a quarter, and Justin Jackson was under 15%. Joshua Kelley had 0.
  • Keep an eye on: Keenan Allen and Mike Williams lead the team, but it was Jalen Guyton who was the clear 3rd WR with a 65% snap count.

LAR

  • Interesting: Darrell Henderson had 94% of the snaps. It’s his job.
  • Keep an eye on: Cooper Kupp lead the team in snaps. The surprise, Robert Woods and Van Jefferson were within 5 snaps of each other. BTW, Desean Jackson only had 14 snaps.

LV

  • Interesting: Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake split snaps with only 4 snaps separating them.
  • Keep an eye on: Bryan Edwards and Henry Ruggs were the leaders with Hunter Renfrow coming in 3rd, 9 behind Ruggs. Zay Jones only got 20 snaps. Renfrow is the slot WR for the offense and Zay the deep threat. Depends what type of league you’re in (PPR vs. non-PPR) and what kind of player you favor.

MIA

  • Interesting: Durham Smythe lead the tight ends in snaps. Not what any Mike Gesicki fans wanted to see, but this is a reminder, he played less than 65% of snaps last year. At least he got 3 targets?
  • Keep an eye on: Albert Wilson was the 3rd WR behind DeVante Parker and Jaylen Waddle. I wouldn’t look this way unless you had to though as only Parker, Waddle, and Myles Gaskin had over 3 targets in this game.

MIN

  • Interesting: Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah had the same amount of snaps behind Dalvin. It seems like this backfield is going to be a time share if anything happens to Dalvin if you need to make some cuts this week.
  • Keep an eye on: K.J. Osborn was on the field for 81% of the snaps on Sunday and he was tied with Justin Jefferson for 2nd on the team in targets. While teams are worried about Dalvin, Thielen, and Jefferson, KJO may get some nice matchups from the slot and can use his college return skills out in the open field.

NE

  • Interesting: Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry were 1 snap apart. They are both going to be involved and while I expect they each have useful weeks for your fantasy team, it may be a bit of a headache figuring out which one on any given week.
  • Keep an eye on: Damien Harris had 40 snaps, James White had 28, and no other RB had more than 5. They may like Rhamondre Stevenson, or maybe they just didn’t want Sony Michel anymore.

NO

  • Interesting: Marquez Callaway and Adam Trautman truthers, don’t give up. They were both on the field over 80% of the time and no other receiving option (other than AK) had over 30%.
  • Keep an eye on: Juwan Johnson had a big fantasy day with 2 TDs, but he was only on the field for 12 snaps. He looked good when he got opportunities and I think he’s worth adding/monitoring, but I wouldn’t be running him out for week 2.

NYG

  • Interesting: Saquon had 29 snaps and Devontae Booker had 24. I’d expect Saquon to move up slightly and get above 50% for the week. It depends what your other options are, but remember, Saquon can make it worth it in just 1 touch.
  • Keep an eye on: It’s Sterling Shepard, Kenny Golladay, and Darius Slayton (in that order) at the WR spot for the Giants. Kadarius Toney had only 5 snaps and will need to work his way in before he’s even worth a bench spot in most redraft leagues.

NYJ

  • Interesting: Elijah Moore truthers, he was 2nd on the team with 56 snaps (only 2 behind Corey Davis). Braxton Berrios was the only other WR that was over 60%. Denzel Mims had one big catch, but only 1 target on 3 snaps.
  • Keep an eye on: Ty Johnson lead the Jets RBs with 56% snaps. Tevin Coleman and Michael Carter split the remainder.

PHI

  • Interesting: DeVonta Smith lead the team with 89%, Jalen Reagor was 2nd at 71%, and Quez Watkins came in 3rd at just under 50%. Greg Ward and JJAW were both just under 25%. This is DeVonta and Jalen’s WR corps.
  • Keep an eye on: Kenneth Gainwell had 36% snaps to Miles Sanders 67%. No other RB for the Eagles got in the game.

PIT

  • Interesting: Najee Harris had 100% of the snaps. It’ll be alright.
  • Keep an eye on: Pat Freiermuth had 2 more snaps than Eric Ebron. Hopefully one of these guys takes the job.

SEA

  • Interesting: Chris Carson had 42 snaps. No other RB even had double digit snaps.
  • Keep an eye on: Gerald Everett and Will Dissly were within 1 snap of each other. The Gerald Everett sharing his job tour continues in Seattle.

SF

  • Interesting: Deebo Samuel had an 84% snap rate and no other WR had even 50%. For now, Deebo is the only startable WR.
  • Keep an eye on: Elijah Mitchell had 64% of the snaps and Hasty had 29%. Trey Sermon was a healthy inactive, but it is worth noting that Sermon is also the only 1 of the 3 that does not play on special teams. I wouldn’t be cutting bait just yet on Sermon.

TB

  • Interesting: Despite the big week, Antonio Brown (65%) was a clear 3rd in snaps at WR for the Bucs with both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin over 90%.
  • Keep an eye on: Ronald Jones, 6 snaps. Don’t fumble for a Brady lead team. That being said, the Bucs showed that they are willing to ride the hot hand last year, so I don’t feel strongly about starting any RB in this offense.

TEN

  • Interesting: With Darrynton Evans hitting the IR to return, it was Jeremy McNichols who picked up the backup work for Henry.
  • Keep an eye on: Anthony Firkser and Geoff Swaim were 6 snaps apart and neither had over 50%. The Titans are a heavy 2 TE set team, but this game script did not go as planned. Things should get better for Firkser, but it looks like more of a time split than any of us wanted for Firkser.

WAS

  • Interesting: Antonio Gibson had 36 snaps to J.D. McKissic’s 20. McKissic only had 1 target to Gibson’s 5. The Gibson reception bump may be coming, but all that gets put on hold as the WFT has to replace Ryan Fitzpatrick with Taylor Heinicke.
  • Keep an eye on: Dyami Brown was a clear 2nd on the team in snaps with only 4 less than Terry McLaurin. Dyami was still tied for 2nd on the team in targets. Some waiver priorities may have lead you to cut Dyami (plus the Fitz injury), but I would keep him on your watch list.

One last thing for you, below is the chart of offensive team snaps.
