If you’ve been reading the site this year, you’ve picked up on the fact that we’ve had a lot of giveaways. Whether it’s upping the prize amount for our RCL Leagues, or offering special money contests where you can take me on (and take my money), or… just having fun making team names and winning a Razzball T-shirt, I’m happy to give back and provide for the community that has given so much to me (and the Razzball brand). I hope, as we keep growing, to get even wetter and wilder with future contests, giveaways, and prizes. Just like your mom.

Today, I’m happy to announce a $100.00 giveaway to one lucky reader for use at Steiner Sports. All you have to do is sign-up for our newsletter (which is just an one email per week, and does not contain spam, just a review of our post’s during the past seven days, just to make sure you caught up on everything Razzball.) Sounds easy, right? Right! A random winner will be chosen from those who sign up today, and will receive $100.00. That’s it. (You can sign up in that little spot underneath this post where it says: I don’t have enough spam, give me the Razzball email newsletter!)

And who’s the awesome sponsor to make this all possible? A special shout-out goes to Steiner Sports, home to some pretty sweet sports memorabilia and provider for your gift card! I’d ask that you check out some of their site (click here!), if only because I’ve already bought a few choice LaDainian Tomlinson swag, and I can attest, this stuff is pretty darn neat (as Philip Rivers would describe it), and I’d like some company so I don’t feel so guilty spending that cash monies. They must know me well… show me anything that has blue with a lightning bolt, I’m melted butter. Mmmm, butter. And speaking of butter, it’s one of God’s tools during Thanksgiving. And Thanksgiving means Black Friday. And what does that have to do with anything? I’m glad I asked! Steiner Sports is holding a huge-a-fragilistic (totally a word) sale on that day! Be sure to check it out!

Regardless, good luck Razzballers! (I’ll announce the winner tomorrow in my Week 8 Rankings post, along with the winner of our T-Shirt contest!)

@BornTooLate: I mean, you don’t have to sign up if that’s how you feel. Or you can easily cancel it if it’s something you don’t like or want. I will say that I get the newsletter, and it’s basically just an overview of our site from the week. I find it useful, and I’m sure many of the readers do as well.

@Jay: I was staying with one of the themes of the site and using a healthy dose of sarcasm…I did indeed sign up. Didn’t think to use an emoji or anything to clarify that in the wee hours of the morning. That being said…so excited for more spam. FML.

@goodfold2: i’ve also seen non-sarcastic howls at Grey about a variety of ads that could simply be blocked on his posts. Those particular guys weren’t being funny with it.

  4. Twizzler says:
    (link)

I’m in a 3 keeper, 1/2 point PPR league. 12 team. Which of the following trade offers would you accept (if any)?
    I currently have:
    RBs – Gore/Lacy/Matt Jones/Blount
    WRs – Cobb/A. Brown/Robinson/Wright
    TE – witten

    Trade away: Robinson/Lacy Receive: McCoy/Graham/Hyde
Trade away: Robinson/Lacy Receive: McCoy/Graham/Desean Jackson
Trade away: Robinson/Lacy/Cobb Receive: McCoy/Graham/Hyde/AJ Green
    Trade away: Robinson Receive: Olsen
Trade away: Robinson Receive: Eifert/ James Jones

Thanks. I asked a similar question yesterday, but I don’t think that I was clear enough with my question.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Twizzler: Ah gotcha, Out of all those options, I think I like the Eifert/Jones one the best.

      • Twizzler says:
        (link)

Thanks for the advice. Which trade do you like better? I had another owner contact me about Robinson.

        1) get James Jones, Eifert ……give Robinson
        2) get McCoy, Graham, DeSean Jackson….give Robinson, Gore
        3) Hold with Lacy, Gore, Cobb, Antonio Brown, Robinson, Witten

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Twizzler: I like the first one. Though, holding isn’t the worst idea either. Is this something the other team has already agreed to?

  5. Zandy says:
    (link)

    Sup jay!
So I’ve waited the two weeks to revisit my roster and am now ready for your expert guidance and wisdom for the ROS
Std scoring team is tied for 3rd at 5-2. 12 team league. 6 make playoffs. Top 2 get a bye
    QB: Rivers
    WR: Julio Demaryius
    RB: Ivory Gore
    TE: Delanie
    Flex: changes weekly
Bn: Hilton, ARob, Jbrown, Dion, Jstew, DMC, Charcandrick, MJones, Christine

Where would you look to upgrade? Who are you selling to do so? Who are you targeting?
    Thanks man!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: I like this team a lot. I think the areas that need an upgrade is the Gore black hole, but I love the options at flex with ARob, Hilton, etc. Who’s the Charles or Foster owner in your league? I might reach out to them and see what upgrade you can find for a West/DMC/JStew package to shore up that spot.

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

@Jay: thanks jay! Same owner for both haha. I could send him Delanie and Charc or DMC for Bennett to upgrade TE?

Based on rosters other guys with holes that could be tempted by that package at RB are owners of Demarco, Latavius, Yeldin. Worth going after any of those guys?

        • Zandy says:
          (link)

@Zandy: add hill to the list of owners that need RB help

          • Jay

            Jay says:
            (link)

@Zandy: I’d love to get some DeMarco Murray there. Should be cheap, but has been showing signs of life. Otherwise, the other Murray would work too.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Zandy: Yeah, I’m okay with that. I’d rather hang onto West than DMC. Sell high there.

          • Zandy says:
            (link)

@Jay: clarification: yes send Delanie and DMC for martellus?

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Zandy: I think it’s a slight overpay, but a good upgrade based on your roster. I just don’t see much room there to ever start him, ya know?

      • Swarley says:
        (link)

@Jay: Sorry to thread-hijack but as a Gore owner this is helpful to me too – Jay, are you suggesting he move Gore along with some of that West/DMC/Stew package for an upgrade or keep Gore and try to get an upgrade/alternative using that West/DMC/Stew package?

Just trying to figure out if you are declaring Gore an active Sell versus saying Zandy (and me too) need Gore insurance?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Swarley: Hijack away! I’d pair him with one of those two, simply trying to make the argument to the owner that yeah, there’s some risk with Gore, but you’re getting another ticket with one of these guys, who are the primary option. I think it’s compelling.

Gore isn’t an active sell, because his value is pretty low, but I’m hoping others see him as a buy-low, and you add something shiny with him, you might be able to get something more valuable back. If that makes sense.

          • Swarley says:
            (link)

@Jay: thanks makes sense. so from what i can gather from comments you view latavius and yeldon as upgrades to gore?

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Swarley: At this point, yeah. The Colts are a complete mess, and one more loss, I think Pagano is done.

    • Jay

@Peanut: I like Lewis, Murray, Yeldon, and DMC in that order. Murray and Yeldon are super close though. And thanks!

  7. Nick says:
    (link)

Lost out on Blue to a lower waiver priority! The guy I was trying to trade with snagged him for $6 (which is what I bid, what are the chances), oh well..he dropped Marvin Jones (D Jackson also dropped to waivers)so a nice consolation potentially…issue is I really have no drop with the Gates injury still up in the air…do I have to hold L Green to plug if Gates out, or would you just plug Marvin & drop Green for em?

    • Nick says:
      (link)

@Nick: I have Bennet as other TE btw, but I’m sure you recall

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Nick: Ah, that’s right. I think you can make that move then.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: Ah man, close. Take solace in the fact that he kinda sucks. I think you might have to hold onto Green until we get more news from practice.

      • Nick says:
        (link)

        @Jay: hmmm kinda

      • Nick says:
        (link)

@Jay: accidentally clicked ‘post’ on the mobile device mid response…so if I were to snag M Jones for Green, I would probably end up plugging him into my lineup for flex this week since I have Green in there right now…the question is, do you prefer M Jones or L Green in that spot next week? It looks like Gates will need another week, but time will tell…

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Nick: Yeah, I do like that match-up against the Steelers. Then again, I do like that Green match-up against the Ravens too. Tough one. Double check my rankings tomorrow, but I might be sticking with Green here.

So, I snatched Woodhead in my ppr league last night to replace Arian but found today someone dropped Dion Lewis. Dare I dip into the Bellichick RB pool or stick w/the guy catching all the RB passes on the team that can’t run?

@Clint: I love both to be honest. Is there another drop you can make for Dion?

      • Clint says:
        (link)

        @Jay:
Unfortunately, no. It’s an 8 team ppr league with a QB flex w/1 starting RB, leaving this as my RB3 so I’m probably splitting hairs anyway. I have Le’Veon & Lamar ahead of Woodhead now so he’s basically an injury buffer/matchup guy and/or bye week fill in for Le’Veon in Week 11. The matchups for Week 11 are:

        Lamar vs Dallas on Thanksgiving
        Woodhead vs KC
        Lewis vs Buffalo

Hey Jay, hoping you can give your opinion on a potential trade….

just a little background… (12 team, no ppr, can start a TE in flex) I’m sitting in 8th place. I’ve been holding Dez all season & just lost Foster so am a bit desperate at RB. This is what my line-up looks like this week:

    QB – Matt Ryan
    RB – Mark Ingram
    RB – Shane Vereen
    WR – Calvin Johnson
    WR – Dez Byrant
    WR – Marvin Jones
    TE – Eric Ebron
    FLEX – Tavon Austin
BN – Charles Clay, Allen Hurns, Tyrod Taylor, Christine Michael, Branden Oliver

What’s your opinion on trading Calvin, Hurns & Clay for Woodhead, Kelce & Starks OR V-Jax?

    • Zach says:
      (link)

awesome, thanks for the insight…. one last thing, are you higher on Starks or V-Jax? I’m a bit torn….

@Zach: I don’t like it. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I would love getting Woody and Kelce, but I think you’re giving up too much. Maybe if it was something like Clay, Hurns, and Jones for Woodhead and Kelce.

    10-team PPR. We play QB-WR-WR-RB-RB-TE-Flex.

    QB: Ben, Fitzpatrick
WR: Julio, Fitz, A-Rob, Landry, Matthews
    RB: CJ2K, Lewis, Starks, Polk
    TE: Gronk

Really want another RB (Karlos is available) but Julio, Fitz, A-Rob, Landry guarantee me that three of them will be available on any given week during byes. If a Peterson, Lynch, Yeldon, Forte, Forsett, and/or Gore were available for trade from teams needing a good WR, who would you target and what would you offer? I thought of A-Rob for Yeldon since they’re both off this week, but Matthews is not the most comforting backup flex plan.

    • Joe says:
      (link)

      @Joe:

Oh. Matt Jones is also on the wire next to Karlos, for what it’s worth.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Joe: I would focus on Yeldon, but I thin A-Rob has a litte more value. Karlos could be a sneaky pick-up, but his volume might be shaky with McCoy’s return. Maybe try to buy-low on Forsett with Landry.
