For this week’s defensive matchups I decided to use the last 7 games statistics for strategerizing.  I feel that it is still a decent sample size and gives us a closer look at what teams have been trending toward after the first 4 games.  So here it be —

Rush Defense:

Pass Defense:

  1. friar says:

    Hey Doc,
My only TE is Antonio Gates and so, without a definite answer about his injury, I need to pick up an insurance option. Who should I drop for Boss: Torain, N. Washington, or Floyd? Alternately, do you think it’s likely enough Gates will play that I should just keep my current roster and go with Gates?

  2. dsf says:

Thanks for these strategy posts. I didn’t realize Chicago was *that* good against the pass. Considering that, would you bench DeSean Jackson (@ CHI) in favor of Steve Johnson (v PIT)?

Also, need 2 of 3: Mendenhall, McFadden, Bradshaw…thoughts?

  3. nostrathomas says:

    Hey Doc,

Just wondering if your rankings have changed a bit, I’ve got a question. Would you roll with Floyd, on Sunday night, over James Jones Vs. ATL or Randy Moss Vs. Hou? I like Floyd the most, but if he’s hurt I can’t wait till Sunday night.

  4. Wilsonian says:

0.5 ppr, who do you start: Bradshaw, Forte, Goodson, or old man Jones?

Thanks, trying to help my pops here.

  5. Leroy says:

hey doc – which 3 WRs would you choose in ppr this week… hagan, hartline, garcon, obomanu?

  6. Black Beard says:

With Torain and Portis out, K. Williams against Minny or Blount against BAL?

  7. Doc

    Doc says:

@Black Beard: I’d lean Blount. I think Davis will get some work.

@Leroy: All have some sleeper type value. I would lean Garcon and Hartline

    @Wilsonian: Bradshaw/Forte

@nostrathomas: I’d try to avoid Floyd. Jones is the safest. If you are feeling crazy I could see going Moss.

@dsf: Yeah, that’s a close call. Chicago doesn’t give up the deep ball very often, but Vick to DJax is different. I’d lean DJax. Mendy/DMC

@friar: I wouldn’t count on Gates. I’d probably drop Torain unless you are really thin at RB.

  8. joe says:

I have the following 4 RB’s Chris Johnson, Ray Rice , Jamal Charles, and Arain Foster; which 2 would you play tomorrow?

  9. friar says:

@Doc: Thanks, Doc. I am, in fact, rather thin at RB. My running backs are McCoy, BGE, K. Williams, Torain, and Goodson. Meanwhile, my WRs are AJ, Bowe, Austin, Washington, and Floyd. Given that I start 2 RB, 2 WR, and a Flex, would you still recommend dropping Torain out of that group?
