Oftentimes, there’s a streamer that has such a good matchup, that he’s no longer a sleeper throughout the industry.  Last weekend, after watching Marcus Mariota carve up the Saints (Go Ducks!), I looked at the Saints matchup for Week 10 and saw Kirk Cousins and the Washington football team on deck.  I knew at that point he was going to be my main streamer option for  my column, only to see over the next four days that everyone had the same idea.  It’s scary to use the “sure thing” as a streamer, because it often blows up in everyone’s face.  I expect good things from Cousins this weekend, but wouldn’t be surprised at all if he lets everyone down.

Let’s get to it…

Quarterbacks

Kirk Cousins (27 percent) vs. New Orleans: He gets a New Orleans defense that is bad at home, so I expect Cousins to thrive this week with his weapons.  Plus, Washington can’t run the ball at all.  Dial Cousins up as a QB1 this week.

I’d start him over: Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Joe Flacco

I’d sit him for: Derek Carr, Blake Bortles, Eli Manning

Blake Bortles (71 percent) at Baltimore: He’s one of the higher-owned streamers, but he needs to be 100 percent owned.  His schedule going forward is cake, and he is a legit QB1 for the rest of the season.  This week, he gets the sad Baltimore defense.

I’d start him over: Derek Carr, Eli Manning, Kirk Cousins

I’d sit him for: Andy Dalton, Cam Newton, Drew Brees

How did I do last week?

Jameis Winston — 18.28 fantasy points

Kirk Cousins — 11. 68 points

Tight Ends

Kyle Rudolph (43 percent) at Oakland: It wasn’t Heath Miller last week, but another tight end scored on the Raiders.  As long as the trend continues, I’ll continue putting the opposing tight end in this spot as long as they qualify.

I’d start him over: Martellus Bennett, Crockett Gillmore, Richard Rodgers

I’d sit him for: Eric Ebron, Benjamin Watson, Jimmy Graham

Eric Ebron (29 percent) at Green Bay: He’s off of bye, so why is his ownership percentage so low?  He’s a TE1 going forward, and should see plenty of work this week against the Packers.

I’d start him over: Jimmy Graham, Benjamin Watson, Kyle Rudolph

I’d sit him for: Delanie Walker, Jordan Reed, Tyler Eifert

How did I do last week?

Heath Miller — 4.70 fantasy points

Jacob Tamme — 9.10 fantasy points

Kicker and Defense/Special Teams

Connor Barth (20 percent) vs Dallas: Beating the drum each week until he’s owned more.

I’d start him over: Robbie Gould, Steven Hauschka, Justin Tucker

I’d sit him for: Blair Walsh, Brandon McManus, Mason Crosby

Pittsburgh (59 percent) against Cleveland: Pittsburgh quietly has a good defense this year.  The Browns, aside from Gary freaking Barnidge, aren’t good.  They are a top 10 defense for me this week.

I’d start them over: Seattle, Philadelphia, Green Bay

I’d sit them for: St. Louis, Carolina, Cincinnati

Connor Barth — 14.00 fantasy points

Atlanta — 5.00 fantasy points

Good stuff. I need to add a K(gonna be Barth, get that ownership % up!). 12 team, no PPR. Here’s what I have:

    RB Chris Johnson
    Rb/WR Antonio Andrews
    Wr/TE Randall Cobb
    Wr/TE Dez
    Wr/TE Stefon Diggs
    Bench:
Forte, Langford, Matt Jones, Snead, AIken. Start anyone on the bench? We have an IR spot, so I can hopefully put Forte on it and not drop anybody but if I had to…

    Thanks!

    • @pbmax: If I had to cut one, it’s Jones. One I trust the least. Aiken would be second if you want to keep the RB depth. Also, I’m starting Langford over Andrews.

@Waterloo: thanks! Just doesn’t seem like Jones is going to get going on that dumpster fire of a team

        • @Pbmax: Yup. They have 172 rushing yards total over the past 4 games (Per Seth Klein).

What do you say for my line up this week?

    Dalton
    DeA Williams
    Peterson
    Sanders
    Robinson
    Olsen
    Gurley

    Bench:
    Lynch
    Miller
    Starks
    Martavis Bryant
    Megatron

Pretty sure I have the optimal line up for this week but wanted a second opinion. Pretty sure Sanders will as well but I’m a bit nervous.

    • @b: Wow, you’re loaded. I’d consider Calvin over Sanders, but that’s a personal preference based on Calvin’s track record against the Packers, but he is hobbled. I think you have the optimal lineup. Good work!

    Hey waterlooooooo
Couldn’t get anything done at the trade deadline. I only have one roster move left this week. Since trade deadline has passed I feel like waiver position is now more important. As I look ahead to next week. What should I do with my last bench spot?
Draughn, Christine, Ajayi, Tennessee D (get jax thurs) or Tamme?

    Standard scoring
Qb: rivers (flacco in for bye)
WR: Julio demaryius Calvin ARob Jbrown (start 2 and usually flex 1)
RB: Ivory Jstew cwest gore mjones (start 2)
    Te: delanie
Def: cincy (@ AZ next week, like no def on the wire – 12 teamer and everyone carries 2 def)

    • @Zandy: I’ve gotten burned too many times in the past trusting a bad defense against a bad opponent. Jags should have success, especially if McCourty is still out. Tennessee defense is not good and I wouldn’t waste my final spot on them. I’m grabbing Ajayi. It’s between him and Christine, but we at least KNOW that the Dolphins want to get Ajayi involved and more touches. Whereas the Cowboys don’t seem to care Michael is on the roster. He’s a fantasy darling but that’s about it.

@Elf: I would take deal 3 for sure. Deal 4, too, depending who your other TE would be to replace Gates.

    Hey Loo,

Are you starting Cousins over Russ Wilson today or Andrews over L. Murray? This is a win or be eliminated from the playoffs type situation.

    Thanks
