Whoo-weee folks, have we got a Sunday for you! Not depressed enough? How about the Patriots and Browns? Want to question life in the most existential way possible? Well, I’ve got the Titans and Dolphins! Are you secret misanthrope ready to break free from those commercial and societal chains? Well then, Washington and the Ravens are just for you… okay, okay, we do have a few interesting games, the mysteriously 3-1 Texans visit the even more mysterious 4-0 Vikings, the Bengals will bring as much mediocrity as they can to combat the Cowboys usual peak levels of mediocrity, and if you squint really hard, like so hard your eyes start stinging and you see as many glowing tiny white lights as a J.J. Abrams movie, the Falcons and Broncos game seems intriguing. And something else intriguing to think about, which may start your alcoholic consumption early today (my rallying call), is that if the playoffs started today, it would included the Texans, Vikings, Falcons, and Rams. Holy. Sh*t.

Be sure to check out our Start and Sits for today’s games here, along with Rudy’s updated projections (which finished 11th most accurate last week) for Week 5 by clicking here. And as always, our updated rankings are available after the jump!

Select the “Flex” tab if you need a more complete picture to decide your starts and sits. Use the “OP” tab for 2QB Leagues. And you can access our Half PPR and PPR rankings using the drop down box in the top left of our rankings when you select the RB, WR, TE, or Flex positions. Any and all questions will be answered below…

  1. Kane says:
    (link)

    Hey Jay,

I’m stuck with having to play either Tate (vs PHI) or Sharpe (@Mia) in the flex position. I currently have Sharpe starting. He is averaging 8 targets a game but Mariota has been awful. Tate on the other hand, apparently “will have a huge week” according to Cooter. I don’t see how a 28 year old guy who is 2 seasons removed from a 99 reception 1300+ yard season can fall over so quickly.

    Thoughts?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Kane: I have sharpe slightly ahead, so I think you have it right.

  2. Old Dirty says:
    (link)

    Jay,

Would you prefer Crowell or forte ROS in a 1/2 point ppr 12 man keeper ?

My current rbs are freeman, ware, and sims.

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Old Dirty: Probably Crowell just because of Forte’s risk of injury, but if I’m a betting man and think that Forte can sustain, I think he has the higher chance of better production. (It depends on my team and how risky my other players are.)

  3. Jimbo says:
    (link)

ROS. PPR … J Stewart or A Foster?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Jimbo: Stewart, close though.

  4. Joe Shmoe says:

    Hi there,
    Quick lineup question:
QB: M. Ryan, dalton, prescott, or hoyer
    thanks

  5. AL KOHOLIC says:

    dorsett or mike walace today,thanks

  6. Nick says:
    (link)

Morning Jay, you still sticking with H Henry or drop for R Rogers for today? 12 team standard

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: Sticking with Henry, from what I’ve heard, Gates will be limited.

      • Nick says:
        (link)

@Jay: Thanks, hope ya have a good Sunday!

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @Nick: good luck man!

  7. Chicken Dinner says:
    (link)

    Mornin’ Jay!

My WRs OBJ, Marvin J, JMatthews, Dez, Tyrell W

    My TEs: Brate, Barnage

    Trade Matthews for JReed?

    • Chicken Dinner says:
      (link)

@Chicken Dinner: If that won’t get accepted how about Rudolph for Tyrell? I know Tyrell is expendable. Is Rudolph that much of an upgrade?

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Chicken Dinner: Naw, I don’t see Rudolph as a huge upgrade there.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Chicken Dinner: depends on your RB situation, but I think it works for your roster, yeah.

  8. Oppo Taco says:
    (link)

literally clueless between H henry or W tye. .5 PPR

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Oppo Taco: I think I’m going Henry there right now.

  9. MiggY Cat says:
    (link)

Kinda need the safest highest floor player for this one:

    .5 ppr

    Inman vs Oak

Hogan vs Cleve (I start Brady)

    D. Adams (Opp starts A. Rodgers)

    Please and thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@MiggY Cat: Then probably Hogan for safety. (Inman is a ceiling guy here I think.)

  10. cory says:
    (link)

    hey! half ppr, two questions:

hunter henry or barnidge for te spot?

also which two would pick between bilal powell, pryor and jacquizz rodgers?

    thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@cory: Barnidge here. And then Jacquizz.

  11. Washingtonhuskiesgoat says:
    (link)

What defense would you go with.. Green Bay vs the Giants or Ravens vs the Redskins (both packers and Ravens at home, I read a weather report that the Ravens/Redskins will have crazy wind gusts of that makes for a sloppy game, also my opponent has both Kirk cousins and Dustin Hopkins “scoring against” my defense… So with all that what do you think?

    • Washingtonhuskiesgoat says:
      (link)

@Washingtonhuskiesgoat: I currently have the Ravens defense but the packers got dropped yesterday, hence the “scoring against my defense” post

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Washingtonhuskiesgoat: Ravens are close, like four spots, but I have Packers today. But I think you’d have to stream if you drop.

      • Washingtonhuskiesgoa says:
        (link)

@Jay: so you’d roll with greenbay despite the weird weather reports? The weather could be nothing but I know it can cause sloppy games which is exactly what I want my defense to be in!!

Yea Id have to drop Ravens and add greenbay. Those are the two best defenses available IMO

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

Yeah, game time decision, but any kind of weather usually benefits the defense.

  12. Capaintgotit says:
    (link)

Who would you drop to pick up a kicker for today’s match…

    Robert woods or Dywane Washington

    My WR depth is : antonio/Alshon/john brown/Parker/woods/watkins

    Rb depth is: Crowell/forte/Powell/Dixon/freeman/Michael/Washington

    Thabks

    • Capaintgotit says:
      (link)

@Capaintgotit: also Washington has that foot/ankle sprain and lions bringing in Forsett for a workout tomorrow what’s your take on that rb situation in Detroit? I always prefer to own rbs> wr but woods is the new #1 wr (granted do buffalo) but wanted someone else’s take

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Capaintgotit: Washington probably, I think Forsett is in Detroit this weekend talking about some things.

  13. Onemoretime says:
    (link)

I read an article how devanta Parker has a great cb matchup this week, Apparantly the cb grades out at 113 out of 114 qualifiers or something and has been getting torched… So I’m wondering if you’d play Parker over any of the following:

    Crowell
    Forte
    Devanta freeman

Right now I plan on goong with the 3 rb but wondering if I should play devanta Parker over one of them… Antonio and Alshon are my wr1 and wr2

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Onemoretime: Maybe Crowell, but it’s iffy. I think you can afford it if you believe in it.

  14. William Hung says:
    (link)

@Jay – I am rolling with Stafford today. I really hope he outperforms Mariota…

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@William Hung: Mariota hype is strong today. Close though.

  15. William Hung says:
    (link)

High winds in the DC/Metro area so the volume will be there for the running game

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@William Hung: yeah, I’m walking in it now. Passing gonna be hard.

  16. Gio says:

12-team standard league. Need a WR3. Choices are Crowder, Butler, Meredith or Sharpe. Leaning towards Butler or Meredith. What do you think?

Also, who should I stream at QB today? Hoyer or Fritzmagic?

And Forte or DeAndre Washington at FLEX? Leaning towards Washington.

    Thanx!

  18. PaulZone says:

    Jacquizz or Matt Jones?

0.5 ppr, 3 pt bonus for 100 yds

  19. RD says:

    Good morning!
    Dak or Hoyer?
QB’s in this league get .5 for completions and 6 points for TD.
    thanks!

  20. Aaron says:

    Jay-

In need of a wr3. Have v. Cruz and c. Beasley rostered. R. Woods and g. Tate are available. Who’s the best option in your opinion?

    Thanks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Aaron: Cruz I’m thinking

  21. Alex Prado says:

ppr….lacy vs NYG or White vs Browns…..white was the #1 ppr back last year with brady…should I wait a week to play white to see how things go?

  22. TTRA1N says:

Parker or Hogan ppr? If not Hogan should I drop for D.Booker (don’t own CJA) lottery ticket 12team?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @TTRA1N: hmm, Parker. And hold.

  23. Nightpandas says:

    .5 ppr

Need one rb and one flex

    CAP
    J Richard
    Hogan
    Butler

    Same thing in another:

    Duke J, J Richard, Fozzy

  24. friar says:
    (link)

I’m currently starting Hunter at TE, but Tamme and Rodgers are available, and all three seem to be pretty tightly clustered in your rankings (0.5 ppr). With all of them playing in late games, I have the luxury of waiting to see how the early games go before making a last minute decision of whether to stick with Henry or drop him for one of the other two…but since I’ll likely be too drunk after the early games to ask coherent questions, I figured I’d get your advice now.

If I need the highest ceiling from my TE today, which of the three should I grab?
If I need the highest floor, which one should I go with?
If you don’t think there are any appreciable differences between the floor/ceiling of the three guys, who do you like most ROS?

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@friar: i think Tamme is the ceiling guy.

      • friar says:
        (link)

@Jay: Thanks! Any thoughts on floor or ROS?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@friar: If we’re thinking ROS on tamme, I would stream.

  25. guidedbyvoices says:

    Jay…….strd league flex
    Coates or Ryan Matthews?

  26. Nightpandas says:
    (link)

    Tannehill
    Dalton
    Flacco
    Cousins

    Pick one…

  27. PaulZone says:
    (link)

Would you trade lamar miller and brees for aj green?

    I get aj and have:

    Brady
    Ingram, Howard, ware, foster
    Hopkins, crabtree, pryor, woods

    PPR with a flex.

I just hate having wr/rb on same team in miller/hopkins . Limits ur upside some i think.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@PaulZone: No, I think that’s too much. At the very least, you should be able to do it one for one.

  28. William Hung says:
    (link)

So looks like I picked the wrong sleeper this week in Hogan – that means that DeAndre Washington has to be a hit right? Like I’m 0 for what seems to be forever in picking a sleeper each week.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @William Hung: I think that’s what it means, 100%. I beliiiiieve

      • William Hung says:
        (link)

@Jay: Hogan might be alright – just caught a nice bomb but didn’t get in the end zone. As expected Tom Brady is trying to make up for 4 weeks worth of stats.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@William Hung: Against the Browns, it might be the whole year.

  29. William Hung says:
    (link)

Do you think Adam Gase is going to just get wasted at halftime with Tannehill having all of 3 completions in the first half?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@William Hung: What makes you think he’s not already wasted now?

      • William Hung says:
        (link)

@Jay: Cause the only drunk coaching staff right now appears to be the Redskins – not watching the game but based on the twitterverse, people are wondering if the skins are throwing darts at a board to pick the plays. Also, only down 10 early in the 3rd quarter and they appear to be done with running the ball. There goes my Matt Jones start.

Seriously, this shit needs to stop. I need to catch a break at some point right? I mean is there someone who is as snake bitten as myself who I can just talk to so we can share stories? My bad luck just continues and misery loves company

        • William Hung says:
          (link)

not even down 10 – the ravens have scored 10… skins are only down 4

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@William Hung: Yeah, I think it’s mostly bad luck with your average points scored that we discussed earlier in the week.

          • William Hung says:
            (link)

@Jay: and this week it’s the Dolphins with Landry and Parker not able to do anything so far… hopefully this final quarter Tannehill can get the ball to his playmakers.

I’m totally banking on DeAndre Washington to get me 100 yards and a TD combined with Denver D completely shutting down Jacob Tamme and I need some amazing luck tonight from Giants D to not allow Aaron Rodgers to go bonkers.

Naturally Stafford was going to remember he’s Stafford and didn’t do diddly in the 2nd half

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@William Hung: I’m starting Wash in a few leagues, I’m thinking he’ll at least help here.

              • William Hung says:
                (link)

@Jay: so the team i am playing this week is averaging a meager 104 points per week. He’s headed for a 130 point finish – he has Aaron Rodgers and Jacob Tamme left to play and he’s already knocking on the 100 point plateau. I am countering with Washington, AJ Green, my kicker and Greg Olsen left to play and I have around 65 points right now.

I guess I’ll be the team people play to get their weekly averages up

                • Jay

                  Jay says:
                  (link)

@William Hung: Well, you have two guys there that could pull a lot of that weight. Still in it.

  30. Zandy says:

@Zandy: Zandy, I feel your pain EVERY week – I’m going on 4 straight weeks where the I’ve played anywhere from the top scoring team (2x) the 2nd highest, and the 4th highest. I’m currently in a battle right now where my opponent is projected at the 3rd highest…

  31. William Hung says:
    (link)

Going into the DEN / ATL game, I was confident Paxton Lynch could move the ball and McManus would get to kick at least 3 FGs and get me some good points. Hopefully those jitters from the first drive are gone. ATL defense IS NOT good

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@William Hung: Yeah, not sure what happened here, the Falcons defense has been awful.

    Rbs Ingram, gurley, ware, Powell
Wrs cooper, cooks, fuller, decker, j brown, Watkins or
    Te Thomas, Henry

    Keeper values

  33. William Hung says:
    (link)

I’ve been complaining all season about my team putting up decent points and still losing. Only fitting that this week my team is putting up garbage points and losing.

Took a flyer on McManus and Broncos offense to do something against non-existent Falcons D only for Falcons D to actually be pretty good today. Took a flyer on DeAndre Washington who will most likely be 2nd fiddle to Jalen Richards in the 2nd half and Andy Dalton doesn’t like getting the ball to his playmaker AJ Green… looks like I’ll be scoring fewer than 100 points this week and get blown out since I needed roughly 120 points to win this week since he still has Aaron Rodgers to play.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@William Hung: Then again, Aaron Rodgers could be injured first play of the game.

      • William Hung says:
        (link)

@Jay: and i’d still find a way to lose… that’s not happening anyway cause Giants D is as soft as 3 ply toilet paper

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@William Hung: Rodgers could throw 10 interceptions before leaving the game in the first quarter. Look man, IT COULD HAPPEN

          • William Hung says:
            (link)

@Jay: hahahaha – love your optimism

I am screwed though cause Dalton can’t get AJ Green the ball. I need 18 points with some combo of DeAndre and AJ Green before their games.

If nothing else, I’ll need Greg Olsen to go all Julio Jones-like and get me 42 points tomorrow night.

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

    Roster now will be (std)
    Wentz
    Hopkins Alshon Floyd Woods

I think the next move will be to move a TE or RB for a WR upgrade

the non-move that’ll haunt me for the rest of the season – not dropping Corey Coleman for Jordan Howard. I literally almost pulled off the move, but then hung on to Coleman. 2 hours later, a teammate breaks his hand and Howard was scooped up by the Langford owner.

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@William Hung: Yeah, seems like a missed opportunity, but I didn’t believe in him, that’s for sure.
