Just a quick shout out to Rudy who finished first overall in Week 9 Rankings Accuracy! Be sure to check out our tools (which he built) here!

Our Week 10 Rankings for Standard, Half-PPR, PPR and IDP leagues are right after the jump! (And our Rest of Season rankings have been updated and can be found here!)

So little time, so many exclamation points…

It’s about time we wipe, scrape, and any other action one does to remove dust (probably more wipe than scrape, because if you’re scraping, that’s not dust man) from the place I call home: Razzball Football. Now that we’ve finally reached our own Fantasy Football preseason schedule, we should take a short time to reflect on what was your prototypical offseason… which was basically a draft, a free agency period, and then a great NFL black hole of nothing happening that sucks space-time so hard, I sometimes think about astrophysics when jacking off. (Coincidentally, this is also how I describe the time in between Game of Thrones seasons.) In what is probably one of the biggest slogs in any sport, the NFL offseason is now behind us and we can start talking about the important things in life. Like Rankings. Draft Strategy. Team previews. Real content! And yeah, jacking off. Which is also, technically, content. Regardless, the first order of business are our Rankings and here’s how it’ll all play out, just so you plan your life accordingly! And when I say your life, I really mean my life…

So, instead of ignoring the obvious, I’ll go ahead and embrace it. These were pretty bad results in Week 13, I mean, we’re talking ESPN territory. It also kicked Razzball just outside the top-10 to 11th best accuracy for the year… still an amazing result when you look at the big picture, and would still be a big improvement from previous years. Regardless, last week and the next couple are when we need to do our best jobs for those of you remaining in the hunt, so I’ll be working extra hard to make sure our performance gets the results all of you need. Sounds like a perfect job for Viagra…

Another week, another okay-ish result, but overall, Razzball is still holding strong in the top-10 for the season. This is the first week of Fantasy Football playoffs for many of us, so I know we’re all 98% excited, 2% scared. Or maybe it’s more… it could be 98% scared and 2% excited. Actually, you know, I just quoted Armageddon, so I think we can just quickly move along to the rankings and pretend none of this ever happened…

I know we have football starting pretty early tomorrow, and since we’ll all either be cooking, eating, and napping (or all of them at once, like me!), here are your Thanksgiving Day rankings a bit earlier than usual… (Happy Holidays everyone!)

Special Note: I just wanted to mention that our very own Tehol Beddict has been absolutely incredible the past month with his calls. A fourth place finish in Week 10 was followed up by a number one overall finish in Week 11. Be sure to check out his rankings here! And as always, if you need the hard data (hey baby) and projections, be sure to check out Rudy’s Pigskinator!

Well, that was an average result. And you know what they say about being average. I do :( Despite the lackadaisical results in Week 10, I’m proud to hoist Tehol up, as he finished fourth overall out of all experts last week. He would say it’s the “Elder Gods” will, but I think it’s more in line with his unending fantasy football knowledge and prowess. And that’s just another example of Tehol’s humble ways. Haha, okay, that one is definitely a stretch…

Here are your Week 11 Rankings!

So, a lot of people ask me: “Yo-yo Jay, how you do that shihizzay?”. Sure, the verbiage is pretty generalized (if you’re playing Grand Theft Auto), but the resounding point is: readers have shown interest over the years on what exactly my ranking process is. Thinking about it, I’m actually surprised that I haven’t written about this before, and something I might start doing in the preseason to sort of self-diagnose each season. Now, before we get started, I want to mention that if it wasn’t obvious, this process is my own, and I can’t begin to tell you how other “experts” rank the players. We have two other rankers here at Razzball, and that’s Tehol and Rudy. It’s probably fair to say that Tehol’s process is much closer to mine than Rudy’s, but that’s because Rudy actually uses data projection, and dark wizardry, with a scientific and proven methodology. Now, even if I don’t know what that means, the usage of multisyllabic words and the presence of magic should at least convince you that it’s special, which is what I concluded early on when remembering that I actually have no math skills whatsoever and would feel out of place questioning anybody who actually uses it. That being said (and you can see Rudy’s process here), the foundation of how I rank players begins and ends with as many snack breaks and pornHUB interludes as humanly possible. And the middle? Well, let me tell ya…

It wasn’t exactly the worst week in the history of the universe, but it was quite average for both myself and Rudy. I actually think the opening sentence from the FantasyPros accuracy report, written by Bobby Sylvester, kind of surmises the strange week we just had:

In Week 6, we saw the #41 ranked RB for the week explode for over 200 yards, perhaps the worst starting quarterback in the NFL break one of Kurt Warner’s old records, and a brand new coordinator put all of his confidence behind Terrance West, leading to another breakout game.

Indeed, you had a top-10 that was pretty jumbled compared to past accuracy leaders. That being said, I’m very ecstatic that Razzball, despite all of that rankings wonkiness of Week 7, was represented at the number two overall spot by Tehol Beddict! Call it crazy, sure, but also call it well-deserved. The dude has been a rock here at Razzball Football for several years now, and someone who I consider more in touch with the “nuance” of football more than anyone here on the site, including myself. Basically, he’s a dog whisperer, but with football… and, you know, less dog abuse. The entire Razzball ranking “group” including myself, Tehol, and Rudy’s amazing Pigskinator look forward to having a strong Week 7, starting with my rankings after the jump…
