Since it is a big news day, let’s fuse what would have been two posts into one. I’ll put my week 9 rankings at the bottom for your viewing pleasure. But, let’s talk about the trade deadline first. Things certainly heated up after lunch on the NFL trading circuit. We had a couple of major moves at the wide receiver position that has an impact on a lot of players. Demaryius Thomas was traded from the Denver Broncos to the Houston Texans and Golden Tate was traded from the Detroit Lions to the Philadelphia Eagles.

We have to keep in mind that players going to a new team in the middle of the season may not hit the ground running. Look at Josh Gordon so far this season with the Patriots. He’s productive, but he’s not the WR1 that he has the potential of being with the Patriots down the line.

There are a lot of obvious start & sit candidates for this week. Patriots vs Falcons? Give me everyone involved in the passing game. Bucs/Bills? I don’t want anything to do with the Bucs offense. Rams vs Cardinals? I’m bullish on the Rams. Start your stars and take a shot on some of these guys below if you’re suffering through the Texans/Lions bye week like I am. I own Deshaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins and Lamar Miller in one of my leagues. I’m prepared for the L, but will be trusting my own advice in this article. Live by the Razz, die by the Razz!

Last week I tried something new by analyzing another expert’s weekly picks. Some of you did not take very kindly to my approach. If I’m being honest, while you are entitled to your opinion, your comments did not phase me as I’m right back at it again. If you’ve read my posts, both here and on the baseball side of business, you will know that I like to mix it up with respect to post topics. Some weeks you will get an advice column while others will be more of a recap rant. Sometimes I’ll use my math and computer science background to try and analyze the numbers, and once in a while I like to go off the rails and hit you with a wild card. That is exactly what I did last week. If you didn’t like it, I’m not sorry. If you’d prefer to ignore what I have to say, then I’m pretty sure you know how to to not click the link when you see my name announced as the author. If you don’t, then I suggest you pick up the following book.

Note to self: don’t get cute with your picks. Not only will the readers let you hear it, but it’ll blow up in your face. I threw one too many hail marys in my article last week and I’m not sure if any of them were caught. Odell Beckham, Brandin Cooks and Russell Wilson are just a few of the guys who this idiot recommended. Don’t worry, I’ll do better fam! Leave them comments below if you’ve got league specific questions…

Week 3 was a crazy, crazy week. Thanks Trump! I kidd. Blake Bortles, Case Keenum, and Eli Manning all threw for at least three touchdowns, with Bortles throwing four! The Jets dominated. It gets crazier, though. Eight of the games on Sunday had the road teams as favorites. The Jaguars, Colts, Bears, Jets, Bills, and Redskins all took care of business at home. Bow wow wow yipee yo yipee ya! Home dogs! The Lions should have won and the Chargers…well, just scroll down to the recap of that game and all will become clear.

Hopefully you took my advice from last week’s post and grabbed Chris Thompson. He was the fifth highest scoring running back with 25.9 points in PPR leagues. Tarik Cohen also had himself a day against the Bucs. The loss of WR Kevin White lead to Cohen getting 8 receptions again. Mohamed Sanu again had a pretty nice game with 13.5 points against Green Bay. And even old dog Philip Rivers had another 17+ point day for the Chargers.

Below you’ll find your under-owned players who you should either grab for this week — or for the long term. If you’ve got any league-specific questions, hit me up in the comments section!
