Was it just me, or were running backs pretty disappointing during the first week? It could just be me. My weekend consisted of a bachelor party and watching the games at a bar in New Jersey on Sunday sandwiched between two three-hour flights.  Sure, there were good performances, but overall it left me feeling validated that I targeted wide receivers in the early rounds over running backs whenever possible. Anyway, here we are with the week two handcuff, which I guess is technically the first full handcuff report. If you didn’t already know, I will be writing the handcuff report this year, and it should be available every Wednesday morning. With this being the first week of games, we will have to try and determine which performances we can expect to see repeated and which ones we are less likely to see repeated on a regular basis.

Those of who you took David Johnson early are feeling pretty good right now. Those of you who took Todd Gurley are probably feeling slightly less good. If you grabbed a bunch of talent in the first few rounds and then snatched up C.J. Anderson and Ameer Abdullah, you probably won your matchup this week. But those guys are all RB1s, and we hate them here because we are more worried about the scrubs who can steal some points in the coming weeks.

Okay, here we go…

Mr. Anderson. Welcome back. We missed you. This week I tried to make things a bit more difficult by limiting myself to just the Sunday early games from which to choose. The unsurprisingly reality was that it was still quite easy to cobble together a lineup that would beat just about any team it was matched up against. Next week perhaps I will try using only players from the late games. This week’s crew combined for 180.1 points and includes one player that will undoubtedly be the top waiver wire pickup this week.

Did you see that? Did you like what I did there? I used Payoff instead of Playoff as a means to be PUNy. *squeezes horn* Yeah, I’m not very funny, the baby’s mama said most people laugh at me instead of with me. Funny I never got that til I met Sky a couple months back. I’m also not very happy right now. I have missed the playoffs almost everywhere, have tried kicking out the stool about a half dozen times and have also drank enough tequila to get the city of Guadalajara drunk. But hey, my therapist says I need to be more optimistic, so I fired him. Why be happy for myself when I can instead be happy for all 12 of you and hopefully help you to playoff gold. My only way to a championship is by living vicariously through my 12 readers. I love you 11 guys and Prezzi. So here’s what were doing here. I’m giving you names to stash, like I did two weeks ago, in the hope they get some play in week 16 or 17 because their teams (real life) are playoff bound and don’t want to injure the starter or are auditioning for next years production of football. Does anyone remember those obnoxious “Big Johson” shirts? You know, the ones that featured classic slogans like “Close your eyes and stick it in,” “Rode em! Rammed em! Wrecked em!” and my personal favorite “Cocked, pumped, and ready to blow.” I assumed incorrectly that they halted production, and was rocked hard when I witnessed their […]

Before this weekend hit, Calvin Johnson admitted he’d been playing dinged up stating he had suffered nerve damage week 4 which was affecting his grip.  Unfortunately for most of the fantasy community who drafted him, it affected their grip as well as Johnson became constant ‘should I trade him?’ fodder across the fantasy football community.  […]

It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Something I’ve always thought about, but never thought would actually happen. It began like any other day, and halfway through it still wasn’t anything special, but then everything changed. The day would go down as one of the most important of my year, and maybe even my life. I’m talking […]
