Minnesota Vikings @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 12/13/2020 @ 1:00 pm EST. TB -6.5
The Buccaneers have far more weapons than the lowly Mike Glennon led Jaguars did last week, posing a steeper test for the depleted Vikings defense. Their pass rush and secondary will be without crucial pieces, allowing Tom Brady time to execute his offense. Tampa’s running back of choice should fare equally as well, after James Robinson and Mike Davis skillfully carved up Minnesota in the previous few weeks. On the other side, the men in purple love running the football but get the league’s best unit opposite them in Week 14. Additionally, Tampa is coming off a bye and stewing after the Week 12 loss to Kansas City. This game checks all my boxes, and the spread is under a touchdown. Taking Brady off a bye is one of the surer bets you can place.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Miami Dolphins 12/13/2020 @ 1:00 pm EST. MIA +7.5
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are a public team. That is, the public pours their hard-earned cash behind them every week. That is no different in Week 14; however, Miami has the tools necessary to compete with KC. The Chiefs offensive line is down a couple of starters, and as a result, they have not been protecting their franchise quarterback as well as you’d expect. The Dolphins have a talented pass rush capable of disrupting Mahomes’ rhythm. Travis Kelce is a nightmare matchup, I admit, but that’s true every week. Miami has burned me a few times this year on the other end of bets, so I’ve witnessed firsthand how well they are coached. They will compete for 60 minutes, and for that reason, seven and a half is too big of a number to concede. I am backing the home underdogs.
New Orleans Saints @ Philadelphia Eagles 12/13/2020 @ 4:25 pm EST. NO -7
I was shocked to this line open at only a touchdown. Taysom Hill has proven he can lead an NFL offense and gets a cupcake matchup versus a bad Philadelphia secondary. The Eagles linebackers are terrible in coverage, playing into a New Orleans strength: Alvin Kamara out of the backfield. Jalen Hurts takes his turn behind a brutal offensive line. In his first career start, he won’t have the safety blanket of a formidable rushing attack. Doug Pederson has shown no favor to Miles Sanders, plus the Saints are very strong against opposing rushers. The Eagles are a lousy team, starting a rookie against a decent defensive unit. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if New Orleans runs away and hides early.
