As far as civilization-changing inventions go, the mortar and pestle do not get their due. These tools date back to 35,000 BC! That’s even before Frank Gore was a thing. Since ancient times, they have been used to prepare prescription medications, grind spices into powder for foods, and dehusking grains, such as rice. Proper mortar and pestle technique includes both pounding and grinding. Materials used in their making must be smooth, as not to mix their flavors into the ingredients and firm to withstand the user’s force.

Gather up your best materials. We are entering the grind. It’s Week 2 of the NFL season and Rudy Gamble’s Razzball Membership Tools are smooth as butter and strong as a bull. Perfect for the task at hand. So be sure to check out the FREE 7-day trial of all the tools.

Now let’s get to it! Week 2 picks for your betting pleasure.

San Francisco 49ers @ New York Jets 09/20/2020 1:00 pm EST. UNDER 42.5 (-110)

This total opened at 43.5, falling a full point with the sharp money coming in early on the UNDER. Injuries to 49ers tight end, George Kittle, and Jets running back, Le’Veon Bell, will have the public piling on the low side of the line as well. In total, these two teams combined for just 37 points in Week 1. San Francisco’s rush-heavy scheme will face New York’s fierce defensive front, which allowed only 2.27 yards per carry to the Bills in Week 1. The 49ers’ lack of talent at wide receiver, compounded with the mystery behind Kittle’s injury, ensures they will not take advantage of a poor Jets secondary. I have trouble seeing a scenario where either of these squads breaks out this week, especially with SF traveling across the country for a sleepy 1:00 pm EST kick. Bets are firmly on the UNDER at the current 42.5 point number.

New England Patriots @ Seattle Seahawks 09/20/2020 8:20 pm EST. NE +4.5 (-110)

The Patriots are 7-3 ATS in their last ten road games, and Seattle is 2-7 against the spread in their previous nine home games. Cam Newton injected some life into the Pats offense in week 1, running a ball-control offense. Russel Wilson and company are coming off an offensive explosion against a pitiful Falcons defense. It will be a test of will; New England will strive to win the time of possession, while Seattle attempts to continue their high-flying air assault. It’s too early to tell if this Patriot defense is as good as the 2019 version, but it created three turnovers and seeded just 11 points in Week 1 to the Dolphins. On the other side, Seattle’s defense gave up 398 points in 2019, and 25 to Atlanta last week. They are a defense that can be scored on, toss in the missing 12th man (no fans allowed), and I am taking the 4.5 points here with Belichick’s troops on the road.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Atlanta Falcons 09/20/2020 1:00 pm EST. DAL -4 (-110)

Speaking of that invisible Atlanta defense, they travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys off a subpar SNF performance of their own in Week 1. The Falcons are just 9-17 against the spread on the road over the last three seasons. Dallas is 4-1 ATS in their previous five games on turf, with Atlanta 1-5 in their prior six artificial surface contests. Dak Prescott may feel the loss of Blake Jarwin, but that could open up an opportunity for CeeDee Lamb against the secondary which Russel Wilson connected on every pass he threw in the first 26 minutes of last weeks game against! Additionally, the Cowboys will enjoy a slight natural home-field advantage, with 25% of AT&T Stadium filled with their fans. This will be a high-paced contest, but I like Dallas in a shootout to cover the 4 points.

Happy tailing, TnPers!
