Well, he ain’t from down in Louisiana close to New Orleans.  Then again, he might be.  Didn’t read the bio.  This is fantasy, not A Football Life.  We don’t care if Jacoby Jones is from near Lake Titicaca, we just care that he has an awesome Sunday for us.  Or Monday.  Or sometimes Thursday.  Anyone think we’ll eventually just have football on 7 days a week?  I think they’ve expanded college football to pretty much every day but Tuesday and Wednesday at this point.  Not that I’m complaining, of course, just wanted to know I’m not the only one seeing this trend.  Speaking of trends, sometimes they’re your friend.  Well, not the kind you can borrow money from or go to the bar with but a friend nonetheless.  The trend I speak of is the Detroit Lions secondary and how it just loves to give up points to secondary receivers for teams.  Let’s ignore Green Bay’s passing debacle and look back at a few secondary receivers who’ve benefited from facing the Lions in the last few weeks.  Week 12 saw Tiquan Underwood drop a 3/108/2 line on them.  Week 11 saw a healthy line of 3/48/1 from Cotchery.  Week 9 saw a 2/64/1 line from Terrance Williams of the Cowboys.  Ok, with all this good can we stamp him as a must play for week 15?  Nah, of course not.  But your team needs force you into strange positions sometimes.  Hopefully not the lotus blossom…fantasy football isn’t THAT kind of fantasy.  But if you need a nice gamble at flex or WR3 for week 15, Jones could be the Jacoby of all trades for you.  Hrm, or free agent pickups I guess.  But that doesn’t flow off the wordpress tongue quite as well.  But enough about tongues, strange positions and Underwood, let’s move along and see who else is a good pick up for week 15 of 2013 Fantasy Football…

Mark IngramHey, it’s not my team, it’s your team that needs the help.  Don’t be giving me dirty looks.  For as maligned as Ingram has been, he’s also played decently in the past few weeks with his reps.  And with that, enter week 15.  You remember when he rushed for 145 yards on 14 carries against the Cowboys?  Ok, well that’s probably not gonna happen.  But it depends how good you think New Orleans is by comparison to the Rams as STL can be run on.  This is an expectation of gameflow move and not one I’d really push for but again, you know your team better than I know it.  Maybe 40 yards and a TD?  I’d put it in the realm of possible.  Feel free to pick him up and dream sweet Ingram dreams…

Antone SmithAnother RB suggestion.  We will want to see more touches from him in week 14 before we think of starting him but he now has 2 30+ yard runs for touchdowns in the last three weeks.  If he wiggles himself into any sort of timeshare with SJax down the stretch, he could be ‘that kid no one drafted who leads people to a championship’.  Oh and the ‘skins have given up plenty of fantasy points to opposing running backs to date.  So grab your rosary, pick up Antone and pray.

Zach ErtzMan, I really wish he hadn’t scored 2 TDs this weekend.  No wait, that helped me in 2 leagues so let me rephrase: I wish for your sake he hadn’t.  He’s probably gonna end up on a lot of rosters this week because of it.  But then he’s gonna face the Lions in week 14, most likely drop and egg and hit waivers again for week 15.  I guess what I’m trying to say is I wouldn’t spend a waiver to play a guy week 14 against a Lions defense that doesn’t give up much to opposing TEs but I WOULD pick him up when no one is looking for week 15 if I have TE needs when he faces the porous Vikings secondary.

Willis McGahee – McGreyhee hasn’t looked great this season, that’s for sure.  But he did just find himself a spot back at the Browns RB table this previous weekend with a 14/57/1 performance.  You can’t ever tell if that Browns’ backfield will ever be owned by one player but for now, week 15 is against the Bears or as I like to call them ‘the team that gives up the 4th most fantasy points to opposing RBs’.  Something tells me that jersey wouldn’t sell well.  Either way, consider this a soft buy for Chris Ogbannaya at this point and an extremely tepid buy call on Fozzy Whittaker for deep leaguers in the off-chance Willis gets hurt in week 14.
