I am back from a weeklong vacation, and two Sunday’s away from fake football. I am ecstatic to be sharing the weekly waiver column with you again.  The best part of the last two weeks is my Packers were only able to lose on time since they were on a Week 10 bye.  Moving forward we can see the nastiest part of the 2024 bye weeks on the horizon with 10 teams sitting out one of Weeks 11 and 12.  The majority of the Week 11-12 bye teams are those with viable fantasy assets.  If your record is solid enough that you have locked up a playoff spot, then you need to begin work to insulate your roster during those playoffs.  If you need to lock in additional wins, then you may need to look at the waiver wire for immediate help.  Either way, I am here to provide some names and a reminder that Razzball will be publishing daily articles and podcasts to support your efforts until the final whistle.

An additional, small consideration for you, the reader, as you move through my weekly columns is to understand that a waiver article is not a mandate from me to add/drop players each week.  Sometimes the best move is the one you do not make.  I fully understand that waivers and trades are top of the fun list in fantasy football but remember winning trumps all other fun things in fantasy football.  Take the following names as options, considerations for your squad versus must-add players.  Only add players when it makes sense for you and your team(s).

Do not forget the @Razzball NFL team of writers will be hosting our Sunday Morning Start/Sit podcast every week starting three hours before kickoff all the way up to the official start of the early games.  Bobby – @BobbyLaMarco, Sky – @SkyGuasco, Derek – @Derek_Favret, and me/Matt – @stiles08, will be answering all your questions to help you win your weekly matchups.  Come for the analysis and stay for the laughs!

WAIVERS:

ADD OF THE WEEK = Adonai Mitchell – 6% rostered just logged 94% snap and 95% route numbers in Week 10.  With Michael Pittman Jr down, Mitchell may be the name to roster.  You will see a name of one of his running mates below, and we have previously spoken about the Josh Downs + Joe Flacco heat.  I do not love any of the waiver names for this week outside Mitchell.

QB: Russell Wilson – 22% rostered is still cooking.  The addition of Mike Williams coupled with the resurgence of George Pickens makes Wilson a viable addition and spot start option.

Derek Carr – 12% rostered is back and throwing the football.  What could be more fun than a Carr/MVS pairing heading into the playoffs?

Honorable Mention/Cheaper Options:

Bo Nix – 25% rostered (running is nice outside of Week 10; passing adds value)

Joe Flacco – 11% rostered (some of the luster has faded but dude will throw the ball)

RB: Audric Estime – 3% rostered appears to be the lead dog in Denver.  I am not sure that means Terrell Davis numbers are looming, but a starting RB is better than a middling backup RB.

Honorable Mention/Cheaper Options:

Jaylen Warren – 51% rostered (moving closer to 50-50 split)

Gus Edwards – 17% rostered (touches are increasing, Dobbins’ body benefits from the split)

Cam Akers – 14% rostered (Aaron Jones is not a big RB and the workload is starting to wear on him)

WR: Jauan Jennings – 60% rostered.  The fourth passing option for the 9ers just led the team in targets and is looking like the safest floor play.  His receiving partner Ricky Pearsall – 37% rostered appears to be fifth option and could be the ceiling play.

Take a deep breath before you read any further.  You probably remember this name and may have been burned by him in the past.  Your trusty Green Bay Packers writer (me) promises Week 10 may be an aberration.  Check that, probably is an aberration.  Marquez Valdez-Scantling – 1% rostered is not the second coming of Jerry Rice.  He will not put up Week 10 Ja’Marr Chase numbers, ever.  What he might be is a nice, new weapon for Derek Carr who is without Chris Olave and Rasheed Shaheed.  Make no mistake, this offense runs (and passes) through Alvin Kamara.  If you need help now, especially a high floor, then you probably must consider MVS as an add.  Good luck and make sure you are prepared for the inevitable receiving line of 2-13-0 in Week 11.

Honorable Mention/Cheaper Options:

Alec Pierce – 15% rostered (welcome to IND WR bingo hoping #14 pops each week)

Jalen Coker – 8% rostered (Bryce Young looks OK; quicker to pass the ball; Coker may benefit)

John Metchie III – 1% rostered (might have slight hold on the HOU WR3 position)

Tylan Wallace – 0% rostered (nice TNF performance in Week 10 = mirage—hard pass from me)

TE: Truthfully, your guess is as good as mine if you are stuck streaming the position.  I can live with adding names like Zach Ertz (solid floor), Noah Fant (solid floor), Hunter Henry (Maye > Brissett), Theo Johnson and Ja’Tavion Sanders (appears to be taking TE1 role for CAR) – all under 30% rostered.

Remember, you do NOT have to make a move each week.  You do not have to force trades.  If you look at your roster and a hole does not immediately jump out to you, then maybe your team is good to go for Week 8.  If you see a hole (injury, bye, underperformance), then start looking at options to make your team better.
