The fantasy football playoffs started with a bang on Thursday with Derrick Henry getting a ton of bench points for his owners. I saw a couple of people on twitter complaining that they were playing against Derrick Henry. That’s even more brutal because points are theoretically harder to come by in deeper leagues.

Are there any Derrick Henry performances around the corner today? Probably not, but Chris Godwin and DJ Moore should be in your lineups if you’re on the fringe of sitting them.

Weather

It’s going to be pretty cold in the midwest, but I don’t see the cold affecting any fantasy stats. Keep an eye out on the weather in Tampa. Big thunderstorms are expected during the afternoon.

it’s extremely hard to have a team that played henry actually BE in the playoffs

late week OBJ rule out complicates things here, have these starting:
QB wentz (but allen is possible start maybe)
    RB (2) chubb, barkley
WR (2) k.allen, shepard (i’m guessing this becomes easy with him for WR #2 here, he’s always done well when OBJ is out, usually HAD done well (till just lately) when engram was out)
    TE (1) brate, herndon
    util (1) options:
    – richard,
    – barber (@ NO horrible matchup should be million passing yards game for TB),
    – jeffery (horrible matchup, been horrible since tate steals so many targets now),
    – a.miller (pretty good matchup, LAR 13th vs WR #2, 21st vs WR #1’s, 27th vs other WR depending on how miller is used),
    – j.jackson (good matchup, but worried ekeler might get enough to make this not the play)
    – coleman (good matchup, but ATL’s offense has been horrible for at least 3 weeks now, GB 27th rush D)

    1. wentz @ DAL (bad matchup), or j.allen vs NYJ (great one)
    2. best flex?

@Fundle Bundle Life: maybe a 12 teamer where 8 teams make playoffs there might be a few, but very hard to have henry being started almost ever this year and that team made playoffs. i’d venture to guess that any playoff team that started henry very likely normally would’ve owned and started probably connor and/or breida, then got beat to samuels and j.wilson (and likely jackson as well) in waivers this past week. or it’s a league where the playoffs are weeks 15-17 and the team that started henry either is inactive OR very little active and has just left him in all/most of year.

I’d stick with Wentz actually, I just don’t trust Josh Allen yet. Actually with storms expected, Barber is my play at Flex for you

      • Fundle Bundle Life says:
        (link)

@MB: crap, how much does this lower brate, humphries, evans, godwin (not going to bench kamara or MT on NO side), as i have all of those somewhere.

        • MB

          MB says:
          (link)

It lowers them quite a bit. I think Evans and Godwin are fine though

            (link)

@MB: probably too late now but i’d think landry and michel both are still ahead of godwin anyway? i had the godwin vs landry at WR #2 in one spot with michel in flex.

Would love a little guidance – i’m very torn.

    Pick top 2 (WR3 & Flex):
Sutton, Ware, Baldwin, Tate and Carson

I’m leaning starting Ware in my Flex and Sutton as WR3; however, i’m slightly concerned with ware vs. the ravens D/ST. Would you consider starting Tate or Carson over Ware in my Fled? Please help!!

Playoffs for an oddly setup league. Full pt ppr, but only (1) bench spot. Needless to say every week there’s good people available on the waiver.

I need some advice for the playoffs…Roll w/ Goff throughout the playoffs facing the following Def(Chi, Phi, Az and SF) or pick up D. Watson(Ind, Nyj, Phi and Jax)

I own Chi D facing (Rams, GB, Sf and Minn) but am thinking about dropping them for Den D (Sf, Clev, Oak and Chargers)for the final few weeks

Am I over analyzing both my QB and D, each who helped me get to the dance or is my thought process correct in targeting matchups?

    Thanks in advance

whew i’m lucky shepard and barkley got their TD’s early, that game has shutdown attempting to score anymore in 2nd half written all over it. just let barkley hit his 100 rushing yards (1 more) for my bonus and i’m ok with total production here, obviously barkley might have a HUGE day going rest of way, doubting they let eli try to help WAS back into that game. i am playing against c.thompson though, THAT might not go well, this has him written every which way on him rest of game.

WOW, another 52 yards. ok, well he’s already got 32.6 points in the first half in this league thus far with only one TD.

    • Fundle Bundle Life says:
      (link)

@Fundle Bundle Life: would’ve been kewl if NYG kept their foot on the gas and barkley got like 300 total yards, and then won probably 57 or something to like 10.

at least jeffery is back to being a part of the offense, screw g.tate. i did bench him for j.jackson and michel in 2 spots, but next week when OBJ is back i’ll have to bench shepard for jeffery yet again. the wentz vs j.allen didn’t end up being much at all different overall due to all allen’s TO’s.

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

Allen should have been better in the spot he was in yesterday

      • Fundle Bundle Life says:
        (link)

@MB: absolutely as of the first half (before his 2nd TO i think) he looked to be having a 40ish point (in my league) game again. he did get his 100 rushing bonus, but very little else. turns out wentz beat him by under 2 points. but wentz, my god PHI has spent a LOT of games looking like shit in the 1st half to end up with decent points but they gotta start the game when the game actually starts.

        – did you see that rotoworld actually accused NYG of sitting OBJ when not really hurt to tank but WAS wouldn’t go along with it, hilarious.
