It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, not Christmas (though I admit I love that too), it’s the fantasy football playoffs! So, as with every other week, I’ll be bringing you an article answering two simple questions: who should I stream this week, and who should I stash for Week 17?

To keep things simple, we’ll define a streamer as any player you wouldn’t usually start who is a viable option for this week. They may be on your bench or they may be on waivers, depending on your league. We’ll define a stash as any player you can potentially find on waivers that you should stash for the future, either because they have a favorable match-up coming up, or because they could become a future fantasy starter.

QB Streamers:

Jacoby Brissett (ARI): The Falcons have become surprisingly susceptible to the passing game in the latter half of the season and Jacoby Brissett has a remarkable nine Top 12 fantasy finishes in a row. This is as obvious a stream as you’ll see.

Jordan Love (GB): The Packers receivers are finally getting healthy, and they take on a Top 10 matchup in Chicago this week. Jordan Love is a solid, safe start this week, though he lacks the upside of other options like Jared Goff.

QB Stream and Stash:

JJ McCarthy (MIN): Last week, I suggested JJ McCarthy was a great stream against the Cowboys (he was the QB7) and a strong stash given he faces the Giants this week. Well, it’s a week later and both things are still true. McCarthy’s a great stream against the Giants and a strong stash against the Lions for your Fantasy Super Bowl.

RB Streamers:

Michael Carter (ARI): Bam Knight is off to IR, opening up the lead RB role to Michael Carter. He gets a solid matchup against the Falcons and is a feasible stream in Week 16. Plus, he gets the league’s best Week 17 matchup against the Bengals too.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt (WAS): He lost the job to Chris Rodriguez, but a Rodriguez injury has Jacory Croskey-Merritt back in the lead role in Week 16. Assuming Rodriguez is still out, JCM is a solid option in a Top 10 matchup against the Eagles.

Evan Hull and Audric Estime (NO): The Saints get a fantastic running back matchup and all their starting options are hurt! Last week, Evan Hull and Audric Estime essentially split snaps and touches 50/50, meaning both are viable options for Week 16 is you’re really desperate.

RB Stashes:

Blake Corum (LAR): I called this last week and it remains the case. The Rams are leaning on Blake Corum down the stretch to relieve Kyren Williams of the load coming into the playoffs. Corum is an OK option this week given he’ll likely get nearly 50% snaps, but he’ll be even better in Week 17 against the Falcons.

WR Streamers:

Troy Franklin (DEN): Last week, we spoke about Troy Franklin losing the WR2 job to Pat Bryant. Luckily for Franklin, Bryant is injured, making Franklin a viable starter again. He finished last week as the WR9 and gets a solid matchup this week against the Jaguars. If Bryant remains out, you can start Franklin.

Jayden Higgins (HOU): The Raiders have been awful against wide receivers and Jayden Higgins has established himself as CJ Stroud’s WR2. He a solid, deep streamer if you’re struggling at the position.

Chargers Receivers (LAC): At this stage in the week, I have no idea which Chargers receivers will start on Sunday. But once that information is available, I’m moving all three into my lineups, as they face the Cowboys. Dallas concedes the most fantasy points to wide receivers by a mile.

WR Stashes:

Darius Slayton (NYG): Darius Slayton had a 10-target outing in Week 15, but he’s going to find life a lot harder this week against the Vikings. Fortunately, he gets a Top 5 matchup in Week 17, so he’s worth a stash if you need some WR upside.

TE Streamers:

Colby Parkinson (LAR): This is an easy one. The Rams have gone extremely tight end-heavy of late and that will only escalate with the injury to Davante Adams. Colby Parkinson is essentially the team’s number two target now, and he gets a Seahawks defense this week who are 4th in points allowed to tight ends. He’s not a lock, but he’s very strong tight end streamer.

Darren Waller (MIA): Last week I suggested stashing Darren Waller in case his snaps and targets rebounded, and they most certainly did that. This week, he gets the best tight end matchup in football, the Bengals. There’s margin for failure here (ask Mark Andrews) so don’t start Waller over your studs, but he’s a high upside stream you can find on waivers in many leagues.

TE Stash:

Jake Ferguson (DAL): Jake Ferguson has just one touchdown since Week 8 and busted badly last week. But in Week 17, he gets a fantastic matchup against the Commanders. This is the team he took for 7 receptions and 2 scores in Week 7. He’s a great stash if he’s been dropped in your league.

K Streamers:

Andy Borregales (NE): He was my stash last week and now’s the time to start him, as Andy Borregales has a pair of matchups which can’t be beaten. First, it’s the Ravens (the 2nd best matchup) this week before he gets the Jets (the best matchup) in the Fantasy Super Bowl. He’s an absolute must-get if he’s available in your league. As always in December though, just monitor the weather reports in the North-East.

Eddy Pineiro (SF): Eddy Pineiro has been fantastic this season when he’s been healthy. The Colts aren’t the best matchup, but with Phillip Rivers at the helm, I expect a grindfest with plenty of kicker points. Just ask Jason Myers last week.

K Stash:

Evan McPherson (CIN): Evan McPherson is an accurate kicker with a big leg who gets a Top 3 matchup in Week 17. I’d rather just use Andy Borregales in both weeks but if he’s not available, McPherson is a solid backup option.

DST Streamers:

Chiefs DST (KC): The Chiefs take on an ailing Titans without Patrick Mahomes. This encounter should remain low-scoring with neither team motivated to press for points. But the Titans will have more ball, meaning more sacks and interceptions. This screams a DST boom week for KC.

Saints DST (NO): They were my stash last week; now’s the time to start the Saints DST. New Orleans faces the Jets and Titans in the next fortnight. I’m confidently starting them in both matchups.

DST Stash:

Steelers DST (PIT): The Steelers DST is 7th in points this season and finishes on a high. In Week 17, Pittsburgh faces a Top 5 matchup in the Browns. I’d stash them for that very occasion.

Help me get to the promised land!

I need help picking 2 from this list: Davante Adams, Odunze, Egbuka, Waddle and Sutton.

I assume Adams/Odunze are sits due to their injury. It’s 1 pt PPR

Alternatively I could pick up Michael Carter but I feel like sticking to the guys who got me here and not lose because of a waiver wire guy!

    Thanks!

I would favor Adams and Sutton. If Sutton is out, I’d go Waddle. I’m just nervous about Ewers.

Sorry that’s if Adams is out. Which I think he will be.

1 down 2 to go. On a normal week I always have a question I ask. This week I have 3. Am I overthinking it? Of course not! It’s round 2 of the Fantasy Football Playoffs right? I have sat Nix twice this yr. Both times he balled out. Last week was one of them and damn did he look great. Team is PPR.
    1-Purdy or Nix?
2- I need 1 RB and 1 Flex from Tre Henderson, Judkins, Charbonnet,
    Jamo Williams, T Franklin, Burden?
3- I know Kickers don’t get a lot of love in the industry these days but they can sway real games and fantasy so.. stick with C Dicker for 15 weeks or go with Borregales?
As always thank you for your help and time. Hope to be back next week.

      1. Purdy
      2. Henderson and Williams
      3. I have Borregales highest but I concede there’s risk there. Dicker is arguably safer.

Thank god I did not win the claim for Parkinson huh? I dropped Strange and ended up back with Gadsden. With all the injuries to Saints RB’s am I nuts to be thinking about Taysom Hill vs Jets? I can’t believe I’m even typing this. Thank you for your thoughts

Honestly I like Strange over Gadsden but I wouldn’t be touching Taysom. It’s pretty clear they don’t intend to use him that way.

Hey man. I have a last minute question for you. Please rank for PPR.
TreVeyon Henderson, Judkins and Michael Carter. Thanks again man. Hope to be back next week.
