I made up this chart. A chart that a 5 year old could make without much difficulty, and it only took me a couple days.  Anyway, I’m always wondering, okay, if I’m drafting 6th, where do the rest of my picks fall?  And instead of trying to count with my toes (cuz I always get confused with that extra pinky toe) I made up this chart.  These are for your run of the mill snake drafts.  Just a little reference tool for ya’ll.

  1. nick m. says:

14-team PPR, worried about my starting WR’s & QB (Bowe/Nicks and McNabb) because I went RB heavy against the grain (I have MJD/Matthews/P. Thomas/Bradshaw).

Was thinking of offering my MJD/Leinhart/D. Hester for his Austin/Moreno/Big Ben. Good move, bad move, never gonna happen?

  3. Doc

    Doc says:

@nick m.: it would be in your favor, but the name Leinart may just scare away people!

  4. nick m. says:

He has Palmer as his starting QB, so Leinhart would be the backup instead of Big Ben, but I understand the thought.

  5. norton says:

My three keepers are Rice @ rd10, RWhite @ rd 6 and VD @ rd 16.

My draft position is 5th, however I will essentially have the third and fifth pick of the draft as everyone else has keepers through the 1st and second rd. I was thinking about going RB/RB (mendy& jchar) over RB/WR with the group that wil be left. What do you think?

whats left: mendy, jchar, r.wayne, miles austin, brandon marshall, greg jennings.

league is QB, RB (RICE), RB,WR (R.White),WR,TE,K,D

Side note – should I just keep Brady @ pick 3 instead of VD and go RB @ pick 5?

  6. Ross says:

Great! Im always wondering the same thing, and I hate thinking about it during the draft

  7. Starlin Castrated says:

Two thoughts: right now for TE i’m rocking Jeremy Shockey. Switch to Jermaine Gresham or stay with what I have?

And any thoughts on Greg Camarillo now that he’s a Viking? Where do you rank him in the receiving corps? Below Harvin and Berrian, right?

  8. Doc

    Doc says:

@Starlin Castrated: Tough call with Shockey since he’s so injury prone. If he’s healthy he is ok, but now they have a couple decent backups. I think you can be safe in picking up Gresham. Has more upside at this point.

  9. Wilsonian says:

Just completed a draft in my 8 Team H2H Keeper. Here’s my roster:

    QB: Phil Rivers
    WR: Reggie Wayne
    WR: Roddy White
    WR: Brandon Marshall
    RB: CJ
    RB: Jahvid Best
    TE: Brent Celek
    W/R: Anquan Boldin
    BN: Knowshon Moreno
    BN: Jerome Harrison
    BN: Mike Wallace
    BN: Santonio Holmes
    BN: Demaryius Thomas
    BN: Ben Roethlisberger
    K: Nate Kaeding
    D: Pittsburgh
    IDP: Kirk Morrison
    IDP: Curtis Lofton

These are some of the available guys: Collie, Fred Jackson, Berrian, Jacoby Jones, Brown, Roy Williams, McFadden, Chris Chambers, Mario Manningham, Kevin Walter, Golden Tate

Would you drop anyone from my roster for any of these guys? I’m thinking of dropping Thomas for Brown or Jackson and then Holmes for Berrian or Chambers. What do you think? It’s a 0.5 PPR with some random bonuses for Passing, Rushing and Receiving.

    Thanks Doc!

  10. Seth says:

Doc, I am one of the writing contributers on fantasyfootballga.com for your faithful reader Greg. He turned me onto Razzball and I love your content.

I am in a 12 team PPR Keeper/Auction hybrid league. You can keep as many players as you wish, but their salary is 110% of the original cost (so a $30 player this year would cost $33 to keep next season). Crazy, but great league.

    So my dilemma:
I was offered a trade of Romo ($14) and Braylen Edwards ($1 and basically a throw-in;prospect) FOR Matt Ryan ($7) and Mike Sims-Walker ($2)

The question being, is the difference between Romo and Ryan worth the trading of MSW? I love Ryan’s potential, but Romo’s upside is huge. Your Thoughts?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(If it helps in making a decision, I am very deep at WR prospects with Maclin, Pierre Garcon, Johnny Knox, Mike Williams, Arrelious Benn, and Brandon Tate)

  11. Wilsonian says:

@Wilsonian: or do you think I should drop someone for a backup TE? The good ones (in my opinion) that are available are: Cooley, Miller, Pettigrew, Keller, Carlson.

  12. Doc

    Doc says:

@Wilsonian: I’d drop Thomas for Brown. I’d hold onto Holmes as long as you don’t need anyone to replace him while he’s out.

@Seth: Welcome and thanks! I’m guessing by prospects you mean those guys aren’t starters?

I do like Romo and his upside enough to make that trade. MSW is good, but his upside is crunched a little by Garrard. I’d go for it.

@Wilsonian: Since there is such a plethora of decent backups I wouldn’t worry about using a roster slot on one. Keep it for a possible breakout RB.

  13. Seth says:

Thanks, Doc. I think I am going to fire off on that Romo trade.

    Keep up the great writing!

  14. Wilsonian says:

@Doc: thanks, Doc! Strangely enough I had already put in a claim for Brown and dropping Thomas before you responded. I plan on hanging on to Holmes because his being out doesn’t hurt me. I took him late anyway. What do you think of that team on the whole? I’m pretty happy with that receiving core, just not sure about my backs.

  15. Nuke LaDouche says:

Hey Doc, I had my first FFB draft last night. How’d I do?

    Aaron Rodgers
    Adrian Petersen
    Felix Jones
Vincent Jackson (couldn’t pass him up to where he fell)
Kenny Britt (ugh, not much left here)

I don’t love my receiving corps at all but overall I think its a solid team.

  16. Doc

    Doc says:

@Nuke LaDouche: If this is 12 team it looks great!

  17. Zackn Neugut says:

Judging by who he got thats like a 6 team league. Rodgers and AP on the same team seems hard enough to pull off since that means rodgers fell to end of second rounder, and fitz beanie and crabtree too.
