Hey all, it’s Tommy Chong…er, Sky.  You might remember me from such hits as ‘Weekly Rankings: The One Where I Get Everything Wrong’ and ‘Buy/Sell: You Want Me To Do WHAT To Get Jonathan Stewart?!?’.  With JB out traveling home from his Thanksgiving foofaraw, I’m stepping in to at least handle last minute start/sit questions.  I know you typically get some suggestions from the article itself but that’s what JB does.  Typically I’d be croqueting like my good friend Propecia (RIP…oh and NSFW).  So yes, I’m simply here to give you an outlet for all your burning start/sit questions that you were too afraid to ask in the forums.  Oh, you didn’t know about the forums?  Well now you know and trust me, all the cool kids are doing it.  So go ahead and let’er rip.  No, I mean with the questions.  You really need to lay off the deviled egg leftovers from Thanksgiving.

Drop Mendenhall to pick up Bryce Brown? Would you start Brown over Ballard this week?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Brown is a one week play so it depends on how much I need him this week. Overall, I’d say no. Ballard has a great match up and a better offense around him right now; I’d start Ballard there.

  2. Chillmodious says:

    Good morning,

Danario Alexander or T.Y. Hilton today? (Donnie Avery is a go, FWIW)

    Thanks!

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Tough. I don’t like Danario’s matchup but I could see a shootout in that BillsVSColts game. I’ll say Danario because Donnie’s back and for more opportunities.

  3. Cam says:

Mendenhall or Martellus Bennett at flex?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Have to say Mendy there, but it’s through clenched teeth.

  4. Brian says:
    (link)

Sky need some help in a must-win.

Need to fill my WR and flex: Options include D Jackson (ugh), a banged-up Julio Jones, J Blackmon, B Brown and Mendenhall. Thoughts?

Also- you worried at all about Kaepernick struggling early and getting pulled? I have him in at QB- other options are Henne and Flacco on waivers

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

      Sheesh, no pressure! :)

I’d have to say Julio there. It’s a boom or bust call but he’s the best player you have listed.

If those are your other options, I think he’s the best play you’ve got though he’s a boom or bust play as well.

Two ‘go big or go home’ guys you’ve got there. If you wanna be conservative, can try Bryce at flex.

  5. Jon says:
    (link)

Deep league flex spot – Ball, Daniel Thomas, Daryl Richardson or Kendall Hunter? Thanks!

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Close but…I think Ball will have plenty of carries once Denver pulls away and that should be early. He’d be my call.

  6. Oilcan Giuseppe says:
    (link)

ppr flex, which one?….Bradshaw,Sproles,Lance Moore,James Jones or Beanie Wells?

    16 team non ppr,need 2 flex….D. Richardson,Daniel Thomas,Hartline,Hester,Ballard or Britt?

    thnks.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

@Oilcan Giuseppe, PPR I’d have to say Sproles

Ballard/Britt have the best matchups. I’d lean on them.

  7. mike jones says:
    (link)

blackmon sidney rice or britt on my bench
julio jones (injury bug) and mike wallace (batch)
who do you start who do you sit

    • mike jones says:
      (link)

@mike jones, I also have dwyer vs browns and jonathon stewart vs philly i can use

    • Murph says:
      (link)

      @mike jones,

How many starters do you need? 2WR and 1 Flex?

Britt/Julio and JStew would be my 3

  8. Phil says:
    (link)

    Dallas Clark
    Or
    Olsen?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

      @Phil, Olsen.

  9. StLewy says:
    (link)

Having some wide receiver in decisions. Non ppr with one flex. Going to play 3 wr who should I go with? Julio jones Steve smith (car) Reggie Wayne Danario Alexander or Stevie Johnson?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

@StLewy, Conservative call here would be Wayne/Johnson/Alexander. If you wanted to gamble, Julio over Alexander.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Ha! Oh man, no one else is going to get where all that came from but that was awesome.

Have to say Ryan and PIT.

      • Dave the Barber says:

@Sky, You’re crazy, everybody knows the killer tape skit from Enter the 36 … right?
        Thanks BTW

  11. Adam says:
    (link)

6 pts per passing TD, 1 pt per 20 passing yards

Eli vs GB or Kaepernick @ NO?

6 pts per TD, 1 pt per 10 rushing/receiving yards, no PPR

Pick 3: Cecil Shorts vs TEN, Danario Alexander vs BAL, Jalen Parmele vs TEN, Bryce Brown vs CAR?

    Thanks!

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

@Adam, Eli but it’s more out of fear of a bad start and Colin getting sat than anything.

      Shorts/Parmele/Brown

  12. The G says:
    (link)

    Sky,

Good to see you back this week! I missed your weekly articles and witty comments…and your excellent fantasy advice.

Anyway, who do you like for my Flex spot this week (PPR, with extra pts for 40+yd rec/rush):

    M. Turner, T.Y. Hilton, or C. Shorts…

I like Shorts’ upside but I have a feeling M. Turner will get a redzone TD to cap off another spectacular 16att 49yd performance. T.Y. has a hot gun-slinging QB…

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

@The G, Ha, I’ve been writing every week Monday thru Friday! Usually JB handles the Sunday post. But thanks, I didn’t know I’d been gone!

Has to be Shorts for me. That game has shootout written all over it and Cecil is a long ball specialist. I don’t trust Turner because he needs a TD to be of use. With Avery back and playing this week, Hilton takes a bit of a hit.

      • The G says:
        (link)

        @Sky,

Sorry…hungover and sipping a Bloody Mary…totally confused you for Doc…lol. I used to read you guys a lot more, but my 7month old son(I call him CEO) runs everything now…lol. Anyway, I did go back to previous articles and skimmed your stuff…very good, as always. Thanks for the advice!

Im thankful for Julio Jones playing…otherwise I woulda had to roll out Shorts as my WR2 and TY or Turner in the Flex.

Am I right in starting the Denver D over the Arizona D and Blair Walsh over Connor Barth?

        • Sky

          Sky says:
          (link)

Ha, no problem. Glad to have you back around reading!

Denver D has been top 5 and they have a cream puff matchup in KC. You’re right to go their way. I think Walsh is the right call.

  13. Frank Stallone says:
    (link)

I need to start 3 or these 4 WRs:
Fitzgerald, Heyward-Bay, DeSean Jackson, Mike Williams.
Am I correct in thinking I should bench Jackson?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

@Frank Stallone, After last week’s performance from Foles against a weak secondary, you almost have to sit D-Jax vs a decent Carolina secondary.

  14. francis says:
    (link)

Need some sleeper wrs from you.
    Thanks

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

I don’t really know how to answer that question, Francis. Pretty open ended and I have no idea about who’s available/not in your league. Reuben Randle?

    • Murph says:
      (link)

      @francis,

Harry Douglas is a stretch play also Golden Tate if he’s available.

  15. Principal Blackman says:
    (link)

Should I start Charles v Den or Mathews v Bal in my ppr/pprush league? I’m more confident in Charles, but I like Mathews’ matchup much better. I am also afraid KC is going to have to abandon the run game early on and down by a bunch.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

@Principal Blackman, Even if they abandon the run game, Charles is still a capable receiver. Mathews has the better match up but I trust Charles’ touches more. I’d go Jamaal.

  16. Standard Yahoo! scoring, non-PPR league:

I need to pick two of these guys for flex starts: Andre Brown, TY Hilton, Justin Blackmon, and Rashard Mendenhall.

    Thank you.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Brown/Hilton but I’m not really high on any of them this week.

  17. FilthyRich says:
    (link)

I was set to start Hillman at RB but just read that he’s not starting. MCoy also out so I’ll start Bryce Brown, but that leaves me with a decision at Flex: Hillman, Torrey Smith or D Alexander. Which would you play? I’m leaning towards Smith as he has better matchup. I could also pick up K Moreno, but seems like an unclear situation in DEN backfield.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

If you wanna play it safe, I’d say Danario but it’s tough. Depends who you’re dropping to pick up Moreno.

  18. Murph says:
    (link)

Knowshon Moreno to start for Denver ….I think Hillman’s pass blocking ability makes the coaches nervous. Interesting to see how this plays out

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Agreed, I have him in a couple of leagues where I’m desperate so I’m cautiously optimistic. Pretty sure it ends like the Saints backfield but today against a bad team might be a day where none of them come out looking bad.

  19. Craig says:
    (link)

Who to start Hillman, green Ellis, or sproles in ppr for my flex

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Oooh, tough. I almost have to assume BJGE gets a touchdown and 60 to 80 today against that Raiders defense but Sproles should give you plenty of receptions…Go BJGE.

  20. Giacomo says:
    (link)

Bryce brown, danario Alexander or Marcus Colston at flex? .5 pts per reception.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

@Giacomo, I’ll go with the RB there.

      • Giacomo says:
        (link)

        @Sky, thanks

  21. Steve says:

Flex Decision .5ppr (Choose 1): Bryce Brown, Antonio Gates, Kenny Britt, or Fred Jackson

    Thanks!

    • Sky

@Steve, Good matchups all around…minority call here but I’m for F-Jax.

  22. Barker says:

    Ad cj1k trich Reece

    Also Fitzgerald or desean

    • Sky

      Sky says:

AP/CJ/T-Rich but you’re gonna have a hard time going wrong either way.

      Fitz

      • Barker says:
        (link)

@Sky, that’s what I had Reece is hard to keep out tho hopefully McFadden never comes back

What are your thoughts on Greg Jennings ros

        • Sky

          Sky says:
          (link)

@Barker, Oh I know, just those other three are proven. Hard to go against them.

He should be useful come playoff time, but most likely a WR2 given Cobb’s expanded role. James Jones will be the loser there.

  23. bobbo says:
    (link)

    PPR league, pick three:

Ryan Mathews, Ahmad Bradshaw, Bryce Brown, Jalen Parmalee, and Fred Jackson

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

I’ll probably be in the minority but I’ll take the last three on that list.

      • bobbo says:
        (link)

@Sky, Shockingly I was just looking for confirmation on doing just that! Thanks! (Mathews and Bradshaw have disappointed me one too many times this year)

  24. Nico says:
    (link)

Bryce brown or sproles in .5 ppr?

    • Sky

      Sky says:

Close…I’d say Bryce since he should get a full workload

  25. Charles says:

    • Sky

      Sky says:

You might be screwed in a good way. Britt got a TD. Go ‘Dola over Jones for PPR goodness.

      • Prezii says:

@Sky, hell yeah i wasnt expectin that… Dude got blackmon tho =[ im gonna lose but heres to a miracle!
