In re-draft leagues, odds are that your league’s trade deadline has already passed, but in dynasty and keeper leagues, most trade deadlines are later in the year. I’m a big proponent of this, as it allows bottom-dwelling teams to sell of their top talent to playoff contenders in exchange for high-upside keepers or future draft picks, similar to the MLB trade deadline. Too much turkey, too much relaxation. It’s the only thing I can think of when examining why Sunday was so flat in terms of fantasy dominance among the teams. Were there good statlines? Sure. Were there good games to watch? Yeah, the Ravens vs the Chargers was a great one and even Seattle in Miami was enjoyable, especially when they had a live Buffalo Wildwings commercial in the 3rd quarter. So we almost did something different with our FanDuel post this week. Almost. But Morgan Freeman himself came down from on high to preserve the status quo. One of the remnants from that near-change is the revised title of this piece, which includes a nice wordplay between fantasy sports and fantasies I have in my mind. I don’t know about you, but when I think of Thanksgiving, I think of glazed ham. I think of candied yams sometimes with and sometimes without marshmallows. I think about green bean casseroles and cranberry sauce.
