Hey Jay! Semifinals baby….problem tho. Am I really gonna start 4 Seahawks tonight in my week 15 semis matchup?!?! That’s a lot riding on 1 TNF game…

    I have Wilson, Graham, Rawls & Sea defense. Need to choose 2 (at least 1 RB) from the following;
    – Rawls vs LA
    – Ware vs TENN
    – Cooks at ARZ
    – JJ Nelson vs NO
    – Farrow vs OAK

Thanks again for all the solid advice bud!!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@JohnnyBeGood: Hey man, good luck! Ouch, that’s a lot of Seahawk, haha. I think you can go Cooks and Ware there and be okay. I would definitely try to split them up to an extent.

      • JohnnyBeGood says:
        (link)

@Jay: Yea I hear ya, thanks! I want to move off Rawls, but Ware versus a tough TENN def scares me. And Cooks against that Arizona secondary worries me too. Doesnt Rawlss have best matchup of the 3 ?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@JohnnyBeGood: yeah, I agree everything you said. It’s tough to find a combo that breaks up the Seahawks monopoly. I think you can, and I like Rawls, but there is a risk here if the team doesn’t show up.

  2. IrishMike says:
    (link)

Thanks man you are kicking azz in DST ranks and helping me a ton!

LOL K question, never thought it would come to this but losing Gordon puts me in a hole

Tight matchup so kicker points may matter….3 points for 30-39, 4 for 40-49, 5 for 50+

    Hopkins vs Carolina
Prater @ NYG (feels like a G men shut down game hence Prater sucks?)

Also thinking for Forbath vs Indy they give up chunks to K

    • IrishMike says:
      (link)

Also 100% rain in the forecast for Prater @ NYG

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

        @IrishMike: Yeah, I’d avoid that.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@IrishMike: Great to hear! I think I like Hopkins there.

  3. Landisimo3 says:
    (link)

Jay.. serious issues in my final 4 matchup at RB …. 1/2 ppr…. Gotta start 2 of (sigh) Gurley, Forsett, Booker, Hightower, D Washington …. Thank you and pray for me

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Landisimo3: haha, this list confirms my atheism. I think booker and Gurley, but I’m not happy about it.

  4. Chicken Dinner says:
    (link)

Morning, Jay. Hope the day finds you well.

In my league QBs get 0.5 per comp and there is no penalty for turnovers. I’m SERIOUSLY considering playing Bradford over Brady. I see the Pats exploiting DENs weakness like Bill loves to do. They’re going to feed Blount. Bradford’s been averaging 35 atms and the Colts suck.

Crazy or crazy like a fox?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Chicken Dinner: you too! I like the thought process, and I wouldn’t call it crazy, but how much risk do you want to take here? Let’s just say I’d be nervous with bradford.

      • Chicken Dinner says:
        (link)

@Jay: Can’t help but see Bradford as the higher ceiling here. The guy I’m playing is starting Blount and Thielin which also has been pushing me in this direction.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Chicken Dinner: I hear you, but that ceiling would have to be pretty high for me to get behind it. 6 vs. 22 is such a big gap to close. Good luck though, I could be totally wrong here.

  5. powerade says:
    (link)

Palmer – Kapernick – Winston all super closely ranked in your rankings. Who do you think has the most upside and best floor.

I think Winston has the safest FLOOR but Kapernick has the best upside as they should be finally playing from behind again. Thoughts?

    Also, where has Tehol been?
    Thanks in advance

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@powerade: I think the highest floor is Palmer and the highest ceiling is Winston. But you make a great point with Kap, but that offense can be a mess.

Tehol’s been busy, man has a crazy schedule. Drop by Twitter, I’m sure he’d be happy to banter about!

      • powerade says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

So true on the niners but his good games came from behind. Scared with how bad their offense has been the last two weeks and Falcons D looks good at home at times.
        Thanks!!!

        haha happens and I will.

  6. RePete says:
    (link)

I see you’re really down on Carr this week at San Diego. I was considering playing him over Brady at Denver before seeing your ranks. Brady has recently under-performed against Denver and no longer has his best weapon. Is he really a no brainer over Carr?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@RePete: I’m not sure about no brainer, but it’s true, I do like Brady over Carr right now. Some of it has to do with his lingering finger issues, but he could move up based on reports. It’s probably something to keep an eye on when I update again on Saturday.

  7. Christian Herman says:
    (link)

Can you give me some words on why you’re the most optimistic of Ben of anywhere I’ve looked this week? I have him & Winston & I’m torn. I also have Evans.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Christian Herman: Sure! Part of it is matchup, I like the way the Steelers have been clicking on offense, Ben has had some measure of success at Cincy (sans the one game last year, and I guess maybe the Wild Card), and I’m just not high on Cincy right now as a whole. Their offense is struggling, and that means more volume for Ben. That’s my thinking at least. I just realized I am +7 on him, so keep an eye on it, it’s something I might back off on a bit when I update again.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Christian Herman: Just to add to that, I think you go Winston there if you’re going Evans to get a double dip.

  8. Tu-Flock says:
    (link)

Is that your Julio ranking if he plays….or just middle of the field in case he doesn’t? Have to choose two between him, Cooks and Sanders.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Tu-Flock: It’s a middle field. I’d expect to go wtih Cooks and Sanders, but let’s see how today’s and tomorrows reports look.

  9. Blake says:
    (link)

why Dak so high and sieman so low? looks like cowboys are being conservative and wont seiman have to throw it around 60 times?

Need to decide between dak, Kap or sieman

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Blake: I’m not a fan of Sieman this week at all. Belichick feasts on systems like this.

  10. Ciwa says:

    16 team league semifinal!
RB2 and FLEX question: i have to choose between dixon-forsett-landry-m.thomas-gabriel.
My idea is Dixon and Gabriel. I don’t trust Moore at QB for Landry and i think Thomas could see a lot of Peterson in Arizona.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Ciwa: Awesome to hear, good luck with that. Yeah, and I agree with you, Dixon and Garbriel.

  11. FilthyRich says:

NonPPR league – which two RB from Blount, Rawls and Howard?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@FilthyRich: I’d say Blount and Rawls there.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@FilthyRich: Hey, scratch that, I was thinking about it, I think I’d rather do Rawls and Howard there.

  12. Bryce Krispie Treats says:
    (link)

    Hey Jay,

    I need a little sit/start advice here – 2 RB + Flex

    Elliot (obvious starter)
    Blount
    T Coleman
    Farrow

Do I take blount out and start Coleman and Farrow? It seems so wrong to do that when Ive been riding him all year. I feel like he’ll go off for his 3 TDs on goal line carries if I take him out.

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Bryce Krispie Treats: I wouldn’t start Farrow this week in this case, I just don’t know what we’ll get. I think Blount and Coleman works out the best here.

    • Matt Chamberlain says:
      (link)

@Bryce Krispie Treats: If that causes him to go of for 3 TDs please bench him, I need the help

  13. Jedimasters says:
    (link)

Jay I’m in a 12 team Standard league. I need a flex from:

    Ryan Mathews
    TJ Yeldin
    JJ Nelson
Malcolm Mitchell (My opponent has Brady)

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jedimasters: I think Mathews there, but Nelson a close second.

  14. Toby says:
    (link)

I didn’t see any new posts on the site since Monday and was getting a little worried that you’d all abandoned us in our time of need. Thanks for the coming through with the rankings.

I’m trying to decide between Rawls and Ware this week in a standard scoring league and I see you have them closely ranked with an edge to Ware. I think game flow will yield better results for Rawls and Ware has been pretty disappointing recently but Thursday night games always scare me and the Seahawks have been unpredictable this year. Do you really think Ware is a better option?

Thanks for all your help this season!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Toby: Haha, never, just more of an empty store that just needs one clerk to run it. I’ll always be here!

I do, and I think you pegged it perfectly. I like Rawls, but TNF games have burned people so many times. They are just weird. I like Rawls a lot… but I think Ware might do a little better this week. Part of it is gut, which is hard to justify though…

      • Toby says:
        (link)

@Jay: I appreciate the advice but my gut is saying to go with Rawls so I’m gonna pop some Immodium and Xanax and ride this one out tonight. I got Seattle D on tap as well, but I’m less concerned there.

BTW, you guys have really been awesome this year. Razzball is only place I go to for advice outside of Fantasy Pros and I appreciate all your insight and humor.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Toby: Yeah, don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a good idea. The way I read your question was, is it alright going three players on a team. I’m not crazy about it, and the only options given to break that up was Rawls. I think starting him is just fine, but risky. And thanks for the kind words, we’re happy to help!

          • Chalupa Batman says:
            (link)

@Jay: Just want to echo Toby’s sentiments. I am not in a seriously competitive league, it’s all about bragging rights. PPR league, and I go to Fantasy Pros and here. I do wish you came out with rankings sometime Wednesday, but your rankings seem to be very accurate and most importantly you respond to comments very quickly.

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Chalupa Batman: Thanks man! When Tehol is around, he usually provides his rankings on Wednesday. I’ll be honest, I usually rewatch most games before I do the rankings, and I end up needing all four days to get to them. I’ll look into getting them out on Wednesday next season maybe, just something I haven’t though of. Thanks for the kind words though!

    (link)

Howdy jay! I’m going to need a miracle & a lot of good luck to pull out this W; want to see how you like my team vs my opponent. This is the semi finals big matchup it’s also .5 ppr

    QB: matt Ryan

    RB1: David Johnson
RB2: Jeremy hill or farrow (I lost Melvin Gordon)

    WR1: Hopkins
    WR2: Baldwin (tonight vs Rams)
WR3: Dez Bryant (SNF vs Bucs cowboys seem to play better at home )

    TE: Witten (vs Bucs)

Flex: if I start hill at RB2 then maybe farrow here? If not then either ted ginn jr MNF who’s been a favorite target of Newton , Ryan Matthews at Baltimore (Blount had a solid game vs Ravens), Dorial Green Beckham (prob benefits him if jimmy smith is out Sunday) I also have Emmanuel sanders who plays the patriots home on Sunday but the pats basically shut down Steve smith Monday night

Defense: raiders D (@SD). Other D’s available: not a great list; Bucs D (at dallas), Redskins D (hosting banged up cam Newton & panthers maybe josh Norman has a statement game facing his old team?), Bengals D hosting Steelers, lastly Hot Giants D hosting banged up Stafford

    Kicker Crosby

    ————————-

    Opponents team:

    QB: Stafford

    RB1: bell
    RB2: Crowell

    WR1: golden Tate
    WR2: davante Adams
    WR3: Mike Wallace

    TE: Delanie Walker

    D/St : falcons

    Kicker matt Bryant

    Flex is doug Martin

Thanks jay I’m hoping I can squeak out a W!

    • Green monster says:
      (link)

      @Green monster:

Looking things over & with the cards minus Mike Floyd I could add + start (or just add JJ Nelson) thoughts on Gresham too? I do like the saints matchup hey someone besides DJ & Fitzgerald would have to catch the ball.

I’m looking at Sunday’s weather in NY/NJ looks like it’ll be a wet mess could that benefit Giants D who face Stafford with his dinged up finger(s)?

*also keep in mind a few weeks back dallas had a tough matchup vs a good D in the Ravens he played very well that game I know Bucs are on fire but could this game be a game when the offense shows up?

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Green monster: Not crazy about Gresham. More Nelson than anything.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Green monster: Good thing it’s the season for miracles… I think. I wouldn’t trust Farrow too much, I mean, you could probably say the same thing about Hill, but Cincy will have to rely on their running game this Sunday. I’m starting Hill, but taking a long look at Mathews. I think I like the Giants there.

      • Green monster says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

        Thanks again jay!

Would you keep my 3 WRs as is? Or bench let’s say Hopkins?

        • Green monster says:
          (link)

          @Green monster:

I think I forgot to mention I do have Sammy Watkins too

  16. Brian says:
    (link)

I see a lot of people have Cam ranked fairly high I am not sure why so wanted to get your thoughts. I was considering playing Kapernick over Cam since Atlanta is generous and game is in doors would you do this ?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Brian: I like both, but my Cam location is a bit more subdued. I think they are close enough to where Kap is an interesting option. I think it’s a good upside start.

      • Chad Bowling says:
        (link)

@Jay: Similar situation: I have Cam, tyrod and Jameis. Roll with which?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Chad Bowling: I’d probably do Cam there. I like Winston as an upside play, but I think he’s a little far behind.

          • Chad says:
            (link)

@Jay: still undecided…u switched to tyrod?

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Chad: Nope, went with Tyrod. I just like the match up too much.

    .5 ppr league

I know based on rankings I should go Larry Fitz for my FLEX but what’s your thought on me playing Tevin Coleman over Fitz? Just roll with Fitz and don’t over think it…specially with Floyd out of the mix?

    thanks jay!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@ryanoger: I like that play, I’m okay with it. Fitz has fickle second halves, and I’m not sure Floyd was actually taking away from him.

  18. Matt says:

    Afternoon Jay!

Semi-Final Woes against the #1 Scorer in a 12 team league (I was 4th in scoring… Need Magic:

    Need 2 RB:

    Rawls; Ware; Farrow; Dixon; Montgomery

I have been squeezing what I can out of Rawls and Ware, but Ware is losing all goal line carries!

Also, with Julio’s Jones toe-tally killing my team… Would you use JJ Nelson or Malcolm Mitchell as his replacement?

    Thanks!!!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Matt: Sup Matt! I’d say Rawls and Ware there, and I’d go Nelson if he’s a no-go.

      • Matt says:
        (link)

        @Jay: Thank you, Sir!

  19. Jimmy John says:
    (link)

I know he is ranked higher, but he obviously comes with a low floor so I’ll ask: would you roll the dice and start Kaepernick over Stafford in a must win situation (second week of semi-finals/up 15pt)?

    • Jimmy John says:
      (link)

@Jimmy John: I should add that Flacco is available on waivers as well, so feel free to throw him into the mix on your analysis.

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Jimmy John: Eh, I don’t think you’ll ever see me advocate starting Flacco, haha.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jimmy John: Yes I would. I like the upside play of that choice.

  20. Not Your Average Joe says:
    (link)

In playing this week I am going with 3 WRs (two to start, 1 in the flex) in standard scoring. I’m leaning Watkins, Hill, and Gabriel. Am I crazy, or dumb, for benching Crowder and Baldwin.? I worry Crowder’s been trending a little downward with the re-emergence of Garcon and Desean, and the increase in touches for Kelley. Baldwin’s a guy that every week I swear will be his big week. But he didn’t have one against the Panthers or the Packers, both weak secondaries, so I’m reluctant to gamble my season on Baldwin again. Think I picked the best 3 WRs of the bunch?

Also, am I crazy for considering Tyrod over Brees? Tyrod might just be handing the ball off to his RBs all game, especially since he and Rex are playing for their jobs. But it’s really hard to trust Brees after two duds when he’s on the road against the Cards. Would you still go Brees regardless? Would you base it off of Mathieu’s availability? Or just play Tyrod and hope for a high floor and some rushing?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Not Your Average Joe: All good points, and I think it’s close enough to wear you can do that. But I would still go Brees there I think. He’s just too far ahead.

  21. Brian says:
    (link)

Just noticed that Cousins seems to love throwing to Garcon at home I have to decide between Garcon, Tate , Snead and JJ Nelson I’m leaning Garcon I don’t believe Tate will do well at all in NY plus possible rain with a banged up QB spells trouble. I notice a lot of experts got Tate highly ranked not sure why NY defense is starting to shut down offences. TY

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Brian: Those are all good points on Tate, but I think his floor is pretty reachable, and while weather could change things up a bit, I could see them getting closer. I’m totally fine here though if you think Garcon has more upside.

  22. Greg says:
    (link)

Semifinals, again, thanks to your call on Inman. Now I have a decision on Inman again. …run him flex or roll dice on Forte, or Thielen or Robby Anderson. Leaning Inman….

Number 2…you have Big Ben (on the road) just once Brady. Denver, yes, on the road, yes, but Tom is good in big games. ..again, this could decide my season. ..really tough to bench Brady! !
    Thanks, great work as always.

    Greg

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Greg: Yeah, leaning Inman one more time there. Though, Forte might sneak in if the next few days look good for him. And yeah, I’m find with Brady there. They are close enough to where it doesn’t matter.

      • Greg says:
        (link)

        @Jay: thank you, man.

@Brian: I don’t trust McCarthy at all. I’m still going Hill.

    Hello jay!
Would i be over thinking things if I start taking weather into my thought for roster planning ?

My kicker Crosby is at chi town this week it’s supposed to be 0 degrees with potential 16 mph winds . Granted Crosby is used to the cold since he plays in GB.

    Available kickers

Dustin Hopkins home vs panthers on Monday night. Monday in Maryland looks fine low 30’s & clear

Catanzaro home vs saints, i believe Arizona has a dome?

Roberto agauyo away at dallas but it’s in a dome.

    Semi-finals.. had a first round bye in a 10tm half-ppr. We start 2Rb / 2 WR / 1 TE / 2 WRT flex positions

Here is my lineup right now, in order of depth..

QB (start 1)- Carr, Mariota, Winston
RB (2) – Freeman, Lat Murray, Stewart, T Coleman
WR (2) – Antonio, Baldwin,Jordy, Watkins, Moncrief (likely out), Mitchell
    TE (1) – Ebron, Bennett
    Flexes (2) – Jordy, Coleman

I have Baldwin in one of the WR slots, just bc he is playing tonight. Good start? He’s high on all ranks I’ve looked at. I’m basically choosing between Baldwin, Watkins, Coleman, and Stewart for 2 spots. So, if I leave Baldwin in, which I probably will do… it’s between Watkins and Coleman on Sunday for 1 of the flex spots.

    Your take? Thanks in advance.

@Frank: Sorry I didn’t get to this earlier man, our power went off out here in DC because of the heavy wind and my phone was dead… totally my fault. I think you should have stuck with Baldwin there, and then do Watkins over Coleman.

man does espn work here too, they maybe stopped doing box scores in week 14. ZING! obviously i’m not referencing you jaywrong.

@What’s a Drexl?: nfl.com’s is working, but no IDP stats.

          (link)

@What’s a Drexl?: Yeah, I’m surprised that NFL.com doesn’t have a better thought-out site. It’s pretty rudimentary when you think of it.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@What’s a Drexl?: Haha, yeah, this place does get pretty empty around this time. We’re certainly not as big as our baseball site, but growing the community is a process, and we’ve been doing fairly well.

      • What's a Drexl? says:
        (link)

@Jay: wasn’t a slight on you at all, just going from like 6-8 posts from monday to saturday now to 1 brought up thoughts of espn maybe also having less guys working on box scores after week 14.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@What’s a Drexl?: For sure, wasn’t taking it like that at all, but it’s more that I notice it gets a bit light around here. I’d love to keep the train going, but our resources are a bit tighter than that of baseball. One day though, we’ll be content heavy till the end. One day!

          • What's a Drexl? says:

Hey Jay, 2 flex ppr spots I leaning on R. Anderson and A. Thielen over T. Pryor and D. Hopkins…..RG3 and Siemen are Brutal (I know news flash…right)…..I have Cousins, Elliot, Kelley, Beckham, Inman and L. Green as my starter….What do think???? Thanks for your opinion….

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Todd: Yeah, I’m okay with that. Man, what a year Hopkins has had this season. Just, you know, the perfect you used: brutal. And I like your team, I think Elliot is, of course, legit, but I like the upside play there of Inman.

  30. What's a Drexl? says:
    (link)

that’s some great play calling rams (you sure fisher still isn’t calling these in?), target the guy on the fake punt that dropped the wide open TD throw; yep same old rams.

  31. goodfold2 says:
    (link)

i love the announcers and how much the media in general loves this script of how much the players loved fisher, basically the players are like 14 year olds and fisher is the drunk uncle who lets them smoke weed, gets them out of fights (after goading them into said fights), stay out late, covers for them at school, lies to their parents etc. favorite uncle/terrible role model.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@goodfold2: Yeah, totally, the Fisher thing always confused me. On the Titans, it was kinda easy to hide in mediocrity, but when you get into a media market like LA, maybe people start noticing things.

      • goodfold2 says:
        (link)

@Jay: going back to STL he was always defended by his players in public anyway. new comment now that fisher can actually say this (as IF it’s not partially his OWN fault) he told some friend of his in training camp that “my god, they look worse than auburn” to a friend who’s kid had been going to auburn. this quote was from one of the last 2 year’s training camps. it’s odd really how many players come out and defend him, as he’s really bad in last 5 years at actual coaching. so favorite drunk uncle is pretty apt (the drunk part just meaning he’s a mess, not necessarily an actual drunk). he’s talking about how weak his team looked in camp in that auburn comment.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@goodfold2: Not just that, but there have been some dirty plays under his watch, and the whole bountygate was rooted directly in his coaching tree. Just confuses me this guy.

          • goodfold2 says:
            (link)

@Jay: dirty plays pretty much every game (if not dirty, just stupid, mostly after whistle shit, in addition to normally stupid shit)

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

              @goodfold2: Yeah, totally agree.

  32. Snow man says:
    (link)

Doug Baldwin is killing me haha! This game is wacky the Rams WRs have dropped a lot of big passes . I have a feeling I should’ve benched Baldwin grr lol!

These color rush unis are bright I may need sunglasses

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Snow man: Yeah, this is why I hate TNF. Just weird games, and the color rush unis gives me headache, for sure.

      • Snow man says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

Me too I hope they get rid of TNF or maybe do one TNF on the week 1 special like they usually do. But then don’t have a TNF until thanksgiving then maybe one or 2 TNF after thanksgiving but then that’s it

Lol when I look at Baldwin 11.5 pts TD not bad, then scroll over and sees the dominant stats from Lockett I’m just happy Baldwin reached his projection & got a TD

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Snow man: I think it was a bit better when it started four weeks into the season, and I think they also need to guarantee a bye for the teams going into it. This four day turnaround for players is the worst thing ever.

  33. Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
    (link)

sweet jebus SEA, i need SOME points from jimmer, LA only 13th against TE’s here. take some of those lockett targets and move them over. guessing he’s busy blocking or something.

      • Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
        (link)

@Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo: SOB! this kinda lead ain’t good for jimmer to get any more targets, not at all. it is good for rawls (ROG) and RW3 already having a great game, i have those elsewhere. also SEA kicker/SEA D (in one), so those could end up even better with this lead. but out of all these leagues i probably need jimmer to do something more than those. damn.

        • Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
          (link)

@Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo: at least in the spot where i might need jimmer the most my opp is benching lockett for gabriel, good thing if julio plays.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo: To be fair, Rams score a touchdown (crazy, I know!), it could pressure Seattle to loosin it up a bit.

    Good morning jay!

.5 ppr league I have a late week waiver Q for you

Drop Alf Morris (I do not own Elliot) to add either Gillislee, forsett, Ronnie hillman, sims, vereen, Dwayne Washington.?

Next drop Sterling Shepard for either JJ Nelson, Robby Anderson, kerley, Terrence Williams (inown dez), Adam humphries (Dez insurance for this week too) ted gimn jr Dez insurance. How worried are you with Dez ‘s back?

Next I’m dropping Mike Floyd but thoughts on Gresham? I’d also consider hunter Henry .

    Thanks again!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

I’d hold on Morris there, just to give some insurance. I’d drop Shepard for Nelson right now, and while I’m a tad bit nervous about Dez, I’m okay with passing on getting any insurance for him. Don’t forget, Floyd did get signed by the Patriots. Interesting thought, might not be anything, but I’m not terribly high on Gresham.

      • Buzzed says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

        Thanks jay!

Do you think Floyd is active Sunday? If he is would he even have the playbook down for Sunday? He was just claimed yesterday & maybe light practice today then I know the pats left early to Denver I think they were leaving Friday PM

He is a target for Brady when you know Larry Fitzgerald was priding Floyd saying that NE got a good player saying a lot coming from Larry , he could be used as depth or simply that belichick wanted the comp pick.
I did just hear that Floyd is making the trip to Denver

At D looking upside here Raiders at SD, Giants vs lions it may rain Sunday in NJ, Bucs D who are white hot but face cowboys who are home, lastly MNF action either the home Redskins D facing banged up cousins & banged up Benjamin. Or panthers D?

        Thanks again jay

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Buzzed: We’ll see, probably not, but it was just something to think about. I kinda like the Giants there right now, but double check on my update on Saturday. Weather is going to play a huge part, and we’ll know more by then.

  37. Rice says:
    (link)

Colts missing three starting linemen Sunday. Should I be starting Dixon instead of Gore on this news?

They lost LG Jack Mewhort for the season in Week 14, while RT Joe Reitz (back) and RG Denzelle Good (ankle) have been ruled out. The entire right side of Indy’s offensive line will be made up of rookies with first-rounder Ryan Kelly at center, fifth-rouner Joe Haeg at right guard, and third-rounder La’Raven Clark at right tackle.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

It’s something I’d consider, but I’m not fully on board yet. True, OL are a huge part of a running backs success, but this wasn’t such a great squad to begin with. That being said, Dixon is already close enough to where I think it might be a good idea. I’m fine with it.

  38. jdubs says:
    (link)

Hi Jay– trying to decide between farrow and Alshon at the flex for standard! I see you have them right next to each other… should I be worried that alshon has had basically two practices ever with Matt Barkley and go with what I assume to be a reliable floor for Farrow or should I go with the proven talent in Alshon?

For what it’s worth, I’m pretty much tied in projected points with my opponent but he has Big Ben, Antonio Brown, AND Leveon Bell.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

jdubs! I think Alshon might be the way to go here for ceiling. I’m not entirely convinced that Farrow can make a big impact here. The floor, as you say, is his, but I’m not sure I want that floor, if that makes sense.

      • jdubs says:

          @jdubs: Word man, any time!

  39. jayhawks24 says:
    (link)

    Sup Jay,
At least the Falcons were good enough to let us know Julio is out now. Combine that with AJ being on the shelf & it is looking grim. According to everyone Alshon is next man up.
Then I get the pleasure of choosing from Robby Johnson in rain/snow or Malcolm Mitchell v. Denver secondary orJJ Nelson with his 3 targets & 2TDs per game that will undoubtedly cease the moment I start him.
I’m waiting for the breaking news that Mike Evans was mauled by a circus bear to really create some WR issues for me.
I’m going with Evans, barring the aforementioned bear attack.
Alshon, hoping talent overcomes lack of reps with Barkley.
Leaning Anderson with the peppering of targets from Petty, but those last 3 clowns are all so close. Hopefully, Zeke, McCoy & Demarco all go off & it doesn’t matter, but what’s your gut say?

    • jayhawks24 says:
      (link)

      @jayhawks24:
I meant Robby Anderson Rob Johnson is too old & retired to consider

    • Jay

@jayhawks24: Suy hawk-jay! Yeah, waiting until game time is always trolling. I agree on Evans, even if the bear attack happens. My gut is with you here.

      • jayhawks24 says:
        (link)

@Jay: My sweet nipples, do you ever get tired of being right? I sure don’t! Good thing I went with Anderson & not Rob Johnson’s old ass. Too quarterbacky to play receiver. Bonus points for 40 yd catch & TD. 1 catch = 16pts. ‘Murica

          Jay says:
          (link)

          • jayhawks24 says:
            (link)

@Jay: Granted, but your confirmation helped make the decision. That’s the great thing about Razzball. Most of us don’t know each other, but we are a community. We all want the same thing, to have our squad come out on top. One of us wins, we all do & vice versa. That’s what this fam is all about. I’ve said it before, but can’t enough, thanks to everyone who contributes to this group of wacky fantasy nuts. From the contributors who make the content hilarious, to us who read & react. No matter how your seasons end, we got each other…and whiskey!

@jayhawks24: Couldn’t agree more, well said. Thanks for the kind words man!

  40. Jeff P says:
    (link)

With Julio out would you start Taylor Gabriel vs 49ers instead of
    D. Thomas vs NE
    M. Thomas @ Ari
    T. Williams @ Oak

I also own Garcon, Robbie Anderson and Richard Mathews to muddle my WR picture some more

Also trying to decide on S. Ware vs K. Farrow at RB2. You have ware at 6 and Farrow at 21, but most projection systems are close.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jeff P: Yeah, I think so right now. And I’d do Ware at RB2, and I think people are overestimating Farrow here.

  41. Mannv V. says:
    (link)

So Adrian Peterson just announced he is going to play Sunday. Its a must win game for them at home vs. Indy. Would you roll win him over either Farrow or Ware? Thinking he is worth the roll of the dice in a flex spot, especially given the quality of my other matchups. Thoughts on All Day?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mannv V.: Over Farrow, maybe, but not Ware. I’ll put him in my rankings on Saturday, but I don’t think I’d risk it without seeing how they use him his first game back.

    • Sinkhole Demayo says:
      (link)

@Mannv V.: i wouldn’t touch that shit with a 50 foot pole (and i have him in 2 dynasties, don’t want to have to activate). he looked bad in 1st game this year (only healthy game), MIN’s o-line is awful, coming off injury, yadayada.

  43. Santa clause needs fantasy help too says:
    (link)

Hey jay! .5 ppr league what do you think of my starting lineup vs my opponent? I think starting Baldwin on Thursday hurt me.

    My roster

QB: Dak (home where he’s played well, but vs Bucs)

    RB1: David Johnson (vs saints)
    RB2: Jeremy hill (vs Steelers)

WR1: Dez Bryant (vs Bucs )
    WR2: Baldwin (Thursday & 11.5 pts)
    WR3: Hopkins (vs jags)

Flex: farrow home vs raiders D

    TE Witten home vs Bucs

D/special teams: slot open but between Giants & redskins.

Kicker: Crosby he’s been up/down, it’s at Chicago Sunday . It’s currently snowing in Chicago & Sunday it will be a low of negative ten degrees & high of 6 degrees

If I make a kicker swap there’s Dustin Hopkins on the redskins & Maryland looks clear for Monday low 30’s & sunny.

Catanzaro home in ‘zona vs saints, last week the Bucs kicker had 11 fantasy points vs saints

Lastly Bucs kicker agauyo who’s in dallas Sunday in the dome.

My bench: Sammy Watkins, JJ Nelson, Emmanuel sanders, matt Ryan, Kyle Rudolph.

    ———————————————

    My opponent

    QB: A a ron Rodgers

    RB1: bell (@ cincy)
    RB2: Crowell (at Buffalo)

    WR1: golden Tate (@ Giants)
    WR2: davante Adams (@ Chicago)
WR3: Mike Wallace (vs Eagles )

Flex ; doug Martin (@ dallas Sunday night)

    Defense : falcons D

    Kicker matt Bryant

I think this is going to be a tough matchup I’m having night mares of bell & the rest of his team going off

    Ho ho ho!

    • Jay

      Jay says:

        @Jay:

Felix navidad jay! You’re fine with farrow at flex over let’s say manny sanders, JJ Nelson ? I don’t know what to make of farrow

Ted ginn is available but Newton is someone who’s been up & down

Or thoughts of Dwayne Washington with riddick trending to out?

@Santa clause needs fantasy help too: Happy Holidays! I don’t know what to make of Farrow either, so I’m going cautious there. I think Nelson could be interesting, but Sanders is probably the guy for the floor. I don’t think I want any part of that Lions offense.

Need the razzball team’s help on my flex…..Farrow, Inmam, Thielen, Malcolm, Boyd, AJ to pick from. AJ probably out. Boyd v Steelers in weather? Malcolm v Denver and I am already starting Edelman there. Avoid stack? San Diego pair could go either way….shootout favors Inman but they run the ball so well. Does Farrow do a Gordon impression? Goodness, is this a week to start Thielen v Colts given all these factors (safest?)?

I am favored but we all know how that can go.

    • Johnc says:

Flex/WR2 (pick 2): Ware, Watkins, Ty Hill, Diggs, Jeffrey?
    QB: Ryan or Cousins?
D/ST: Houston vs Jax (maybe no Mercilus), KC vs Tenn(no DJ) or ATL vs SF?

@Jack: Feeling Inman there, and probably Patriots. No probs!

One more – Inman or Desean Jackson? Thx.

@Jack: I have Jackson there by a hair.

With Fiedorwicz out, you like R Griffin in his stead or Gresham?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Cram It: I’m working on the update right now, he’s going to get close, but I think it still might go to Gresham. Let me come back to this in a little.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Cram It: Yeah, I think Gresham here.

      • Cram It says:

        @Jay: Thanks brah. I agree.

Need upside, team I’m up against is stacked. -20 dog. Half ppr

Fiedorowicz owner…. Half ppr. Henry, Fleener, Griffin, Brown, or one from the Colts.

Same league. Need 2 WR’s and a Flex from the guys below.
Watkins, T. Hill, Gabriel, or Tevin Coleman.

Same league. Bills D or Giants D.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

Hmm, probably leaning Griffin there. And Watkins and Coleman there. And probably Giants.

      • Jon says:
        (link)

@Jay: Need 2 recievers and a flex. So one more reciever.

I was going watkins, sanders and hill in the flex for upside. But Coleman against san fran is soooo tempting.

TE I was between henry ir brown with Browns targets lately.

Really threw me for a spiral!! Haha

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Jon: I think Coleman for Sanders isn’t crazy at all. And I’d stay away from Henry, Gates will get any and all TD looks for the record.

          • Jon says:
            (link)

@Jay: So guy I am going against had Ajayi and Jets D go tonight. So only -1pt dog. Which projections clearly mean nothing.

            Right now I have

            WR- Watkins, Hill
            Flex- Tevin Coleman
            D- Bills

I”m leaning Hill over Gabriel since I get points for special teams. But I would like to have the safety net of Falcons RB and WR versus the 49ers. Throwing Sanders on the bench.

Last, what makes you lean Giants D over the Bills?

            Thoughts?

this ain’t yr can of beans but let’s see what you think. using a few sources still leaves me with some choice with my S #2 in deep ass IDP league
    1. mike adams IND @ MIN (been around a long time, season average 12.02 points in this league, missed 2 games this season, most recently week 12, recently had a 23.2 pt game against NYJ and a 13 pt against HOU last week)
    2. j.tartt SF @ ATL (since he got a starting job in week 12 he’s had 5, 7, and 29 point (against NYJ) performances)
    3. j.ward SF @ ATL (he’s technically a CB, but only counts as S in yahoo, but, since he’s been starting in week 9 has had scores of: 11, 22, 12, 8, 13, and 38.6 (against NYJ))
    4. byrd NO @ ARI (been around forever averages around 10 per game this year)

FP if i remove differing persons (like say only take the top 3, or 5 rankers for DB’s in 2016 and go by their averages) have them with either tartt or ward first, then adams, then byrd. also, i’m in a near deadlock by yahoo projections. sucks that karl joseph OAK hurt his foot 2 weeks ago, he had been killing it most of year.

    • Sinkhole Demayo says:
      (link)

@Sinkhole Demayo: earlier in week before i had to activate AP (able to IR treadwell, this is dynasty as well) i had grabbed ward, thinking his upside is best, but i might need a floor here, and CB’s USUALLY have worse floors than S’s from often lack of tackles, BUT he’s now had 6 consecutive weeks of solid numbers. he’s averaging 17 or so for those 6 weeks, and 11 even removing the insane NYJ game.

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Sinkhole Demayo: I agree, almost feels like the TE position, feast or famine.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Sinkhole Demayo: Yeah, I kinda like Ward there. I could see Ryan helping him out a bit too, despite being pretty good at home.

      • Sinkhole Demayo says:
        (link)

@Jay: probably shouldn’t have even mentioned byrd there, if i wanted the old guy with the floor mike adams is simply better, only did so in case @ ARI is that much better than @ MIN. like with most IDP’s it’s not at all to be on a team that probably never has the ball (so IND vs SF vs NO it’s clearly SF in that regard)

  57. Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
    (link)

and in PPR still play boyd or ivory over forte, now playing tonight?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

Hmm, I think you go Boyd there, yeah.

      • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
        (link)

@Jay: doubt forte playing was added to your rankings, but even so he’s probably playing hurt, and i have no idea why NYJ are doing that, but everything else they do reeks of having no clue, so why not?

meanwhile, i know the rankings above (and it’s close), but i guess l.green over ebron even with green’s low snap counts? ebron gets the 28th against TE’s NYG (BUT he has been playing hurt and hasn’t done much in 4 weeks), green CIN’s 20th against TE’s.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

Yeah, not sure how much he helps. I’m iffy on what to do with him honestly. I’m okay with Ebron over Green, I think it’s more of a personal preference thing.

          • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
            (link)

@Jay: already have ebron, and am small favorite, but even with the snap counts it appears since in last 3 weeks green’s floor might be better and certainly his ceiling would said to be. also while NYG aren’t good at TE’s in generally they ARE an actual good D, and could much more easily completely shut down DET’s offense. (i just remembered stafford’s injured finger now too). think i completely talked myself into green here. also this (from rotoworld last week):
“ESPN Steelers reporter Jeremy Fowler believes 30-40 snaps is Ladarius Green’s “range because of the Steelers’ run-heavy sets.”
Green saw his snap share jump to 48 percent last week against the Giants, but that might be his ceiling if Fowler is correct. The good news is Green runs a route on almost all of his snaps, giving him plenty of target opportunities despite the limited snap percentage”

and that’s assuming the run counts keep going, which is no guarantee.

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

Yeah, I know Green didn’t do much last week, but there’s a lot to like. I think the position in general is just so fickle. And that snap share you posted there is a huge part of liking the situation, even if he doesn’t reach that number, if he gets near, it should at least provide the potential to get those numbers.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

I ended up putting Forte at 55. I don’t feel comfortable going much higher.

          • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
            (link)

@Jay: oh RB 55, i was like WHA! that’s much higher than boyd. nope, it’s mid 150’s.

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

Oh, haha, yeah, sorry, didn’t differentiate at all. Must have scared ya!

                (link)

@Jay: and forte was the fantasy-relevant-only-decoy-troll-job by them twats that run NYJ.

  58. Chalupa Batman says:
    (link)

    Alex Smith or Eli Manning?

Weather could be nasty for NYG vs Det game. Should I expect the Giants defense to shut down the Lions and therefore Giants run the ball more? If it’s sloppy weather, do you think that makes it even more likely that Eli throws less?

Then in KC it’s supposed to be around 10 degrees.

Am I overthinking this? Haha. Right now I’m set to go with Eli. But I’m wondering if Smith has a higher floor.

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Chalupa Batman: Going Manning there I think, unless the weather gets super nasty. You’re not over-thinking at all. Tis the season to over-think!

      • Chalupa Batman says:
        (link)

@Jay: Thanks. I’ll monitor the situation.

I really should have taken a closer look at your PPR RB rankings. When I saw Forte was available tonight I was sure Powell’s value would drop significantly. Man, was I wrong. At least I still have a very nice option in Murray. Hopefully this doesn’t cost me.

@Bee: I like Gabriel and Jeffery there I think.

.5 PPR league, who gets left out?

Fitz, Jeffery, Edelman (guy I’m playing is starting Brady), Watkins

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:

I’m okay leaving out Jeffery there. I think you want Edelman to offset some of Brady’s points.
