2014 58.1% 31 out of 125 60.7% 50.6% Top 25%

Welp, Week 1 was… interesting? I guess that’d be an apt descriptor. Unless you were a Keenan Allen owner. Then I would call it an excuse to catch some of that alcohol poisoning that’s been going around. I guess the same could be true of all you Tyrod Taylor hype-sters out there (no Von Miller, you stay the ef away man, I did not say hipster!), but let’s be honest, Sammy Watkins owners have it a bit worse. Regardless, we look to Week 2 as an affirmation that we’re all not crazy for drafting Todd Gurley, Dez Bryant, Devonta Freeman, etc., and we have now at least one week of games in the books to make numerical assumptions in the hopes of making the right decisions for our fantasy football teams. That was probably the more robust way of saying “hey guys, I watched some games, here are some more rankings”, but whatever. I got a lede to write, naw what I’m sayin’?

    (link)

    Jay!

So pumped for a another year of FF… Working on a few buy low(ish)/sell (while the buzz is) high scenarios and would love your opinions… Thank you in advance!

    My roster:
    QB Bortles/Jameis
RB Ingram, J. Charles, DeAngelo Williams, T. Coleman, K. Dixon
WR DHop, Amari, Diggs, Tyrell Williams, Funchess
    TE Fleener
    DST Arizona, Baltimore

The team with Devonta Freeman is sucking hind tit to start the year and has both J. Langford and Derrick Henry – who I love. First, who do you like ROS, Coleman or D. Henry and should I look to make that swap? Or do I shoot for the bigger fish and go after Langford? Perhaps Diggs and Coleman gets it done?

Also, thinking of making a run at Gio. Do you prefer Gio ROS to Coleman? I think it’s a slight edge to Gio…

And lastly, it worked out in my auction draft that the team with LeVeon Bell spent crazy high ($16) on Spencer Ware based on pre-draft buzz. In an effort to even the score, I drafted DeAngelo (I also have Charles, obviously). This morning , I awoke to a Ware/DeAngelo trade offer. Should I look to even swap Ware/DeAngelo so I can sleep better at night? Or should I ride out the first three weeks of DeAngelo, hope Charles gets healthy, and then make the deal?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Rocky: Probably Coleman, but Henry is close behind. Try Langford, maybe he already soured on him. Yes on Gio, but that running game seems to be a frustrating timeshare sometimes. Yeah, I think Ware has more value going forward, for sure.

  2. In the weeds says:
    (link)

    Hey there Jay,

    Who to flex?

    Snead
    Abdullah
    Fleener
    Virgil Green

    cheers!

  3. justin says:
    (link)

why so high on michael floyd?? i have him on the bench right now but debating if i should play him or not. its a standard scoring league. which 2 should i play? langford, randall cobb, michael floyd.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@justin: It’s risky, but I do like the matchup. He’s feast or famine, so it’s tough to gauge, some of it is gut too, and I might change it just a little in my next update. It’s aggressive, for sure.

  4. Kane says:
    (link)

Hey Jay, which two do you like better in week 2?

    0.5ppr

    T.Y Hilton @ DEN
    Golden Tate vs TEN
    Tajae Sharpe @ DET

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Kane: Tate’s the guy for me right now.

  5. Packers says:
    (link)

Jay, in a 1/2 ppr league I have Copper, Floyd and Fuller starting at WR. We start 3 WR plus a flex. My choices are S. Watkins, M. Sanu or J. Hill. I’m leaning Sanu because of Watkins foot. What do you think?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Packers: Yeah, I still have Watkins there, but that may change as I keep updated on his status.

  6. Brian says:
    (link)

2 questions first I traded Blount for Desean Jackson in .5 PPR league was that a good choice ? 2nd I own Watkins all over the place and currently he is on the bench in all leagues. I have a feeling I am going to get burnt by leaving him there what is your thoughts on Watkins this week. My options are playing Jackson over him in one league and Snead over him in another or I could put Watkins in over Moncrief ?

    Thanks again

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Brian: Yeah, I think that’s a good deal. I’m okay with Watkins, but kinda scared too. Keep with Sneak, but I like him more than Moncrief I think.

  7. Sano Chance in Hell says:
    (link)

Would like to add Tyrell Williams in my PPR league…would you drop any of the following for him?

    1. Philip Rivers (starting Stafford)
    2. Christine Michael
    3. Michael Thomas

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Sano Chance in Hell: 1 yes, 2 no, 3 yes. Though, you should note that I like Rivers over Stafford.

  8. PNW says:
    (link)

i joined a league where they can keep a guy for 3 years. I inherited a $11 sammy watkins so i kept him. with this news (he can only be kept 1 more year), would you get rid of him. trying to win this year

$11 sammy watkins, $3 Isiah crowell for $35 jonathen stewart, $13 jordan matthews?

    thanks.
    worried about the foot

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@PNW: I’m worried a bit too, but I think I’d hold here unless there’s an obvious upgrade.

      • PNW says:
        (link)

@Jay: thanks. I figured a healthy Jordan Matthews might be a wash and I see j-stew as a big upgrade but I know there’s believers in Isaiah Crowell..

Surprised to hear you’d hold but I guess other players eventually come
Back from that surgery and they’re alright (Julio/dez)

  9. Lion Liver says:
    (link)

Hey Jay, who should I play in my flex spot (Not a PPR)?

    Lacy
    Tate
    Sharpe

  10. Nate says:
    (link)

    Jay,

Who would you flex in a PPR league? I’m starting Mark Ingram and Danny Woodhead at RB, and Antonio Brown, Allen Robinson and Jarvis Landry at WR (can you tell it’s a keeper league?) That leaves my flex options as:

    Eddie Lacy
    Duke Johnson
    Tyrell Williams
    Jeremy Kerley

I’m leaning toward Lacy, but both he and Duke have bad matchups this week. That said, Williams and Kerley aren’t proven assets yet. Seems like none of the options are ideal.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nate: Lacy. But maaaaaaaaaaaaaan, you putting Williams in there makes my knees shake.

  11. Littlecf24 says:
    (link)

2 QB League, Stafford and Tyrod my QBs with Mccown now on the bench.

Would you trade Tyrod Mccown Yeldon and Jordy for Flacco LeVeon Bell and Maclin?

Other Wrs Evans and AJ… have bad RBs (Ryan Mathews my 1).

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Littlecf24: Yeah, I’d do that deal in a heartbeat.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Littlecf24: Assuming that you are getting Bell…

  12. a bag of sand says:
    (link)

    better stash: Lynch or Dixon?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@a bag of sand: Dixon. I’m not sure I believe the Lynch stuff.

  13. a bag of sand says:
    (link)

pls rank for flex .5 ppr:
    R Mathews
    M Jones Jr
    M Floyd

    thx

  14. JohnnyBeGood says:
    (link)

    Jay!

in a PPR league, would u trade to JC owner Spencer Ware to get Demarius T ?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@JohnnyBeGood: Yes I would. Especially if you need a WR.

  15. Nick says:
    (link)

    Hi buddy,,,
won easily week1 with my keeper team! with 2nd best score

    please confirm my week2 lineup
    QB Luck (over Cousins)
    RB Ingram / Spencer Ware
WR ABrown / Cobb / DSJackson
    TE Fleener (over Barnidge??)
Flex Rb/Wr: Woodhead (over Gurley!!? / Rawls) and Sterling Shepard (over Pryor / Fuller)
    K Hauschka
    Def Houston

    Nicky

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: Good to hear! Yes on everything, except Woody. I want Gurley there. But Shepard definitely.

  16. William Hung says:
    (link)

@Jay – As a Giants fan and brand new Victor Cruz owner, I’m saying you have him too low. I mean seriously, you have him below Pierre Garcon. I’m going to screengrab that and send it to him to fire him up against a porous Saints D. To be ranked below Pierre Garcon is a big slap in the face.

On to a serious question: Bernard v. Pitt over Matt Jones v. Dal? I’m rolling out Foster and Woodhead in my RB spots and debating on my FLEX between Bernard, Jones, and dark horse Cruz with the juicy matchup. Pitt’s run D is similar to the Jets right? I am fearful of Bernard since the volume wasn’t there against the Jets.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@William Hung: Haha, please do! I’m a Cruz fan, but I’m iffy on him in Week 2… but that may change. I see it being the ODB and Shepard show right now. Gio right now, but it’s super close. I’d say kinda similar, but Steelers are a step back compared to the Jets.

      • William Hung says:
        (link)

@Jay: I agree that it the ODB / Shepard show, but I think the Giants offense can support 3 WRs with volume alone. Especially when they don’t have a reliable TE. What sold me on Cruz was his leaping grab in Week 1 and TD grab.On both plays he wasn’t wide open and was able to create separation and make a play. I’d say it’s realistic to expect 8-9 per week in .5 PPR is realistic with the volume the Giants pass the ball. Def more upside than Garcon. Lets be real, in that tier any of those guys could be ordered randomly… it’s just a big slap in the face, maybe even a cock slap to the face for emphasis that he’s also ranked below Rishard Matthews who plays in a low volume passing offense.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@William Hung: I think so too, but it’ll probably be 50/35/15 type of split in a situation like this. Keep in mind, when you see WR3’s come into play is when there is a competent coverage that is locking down a QBs progressions. And this is just a weekly snapshot too.

  17. Nightpandas says:
    (link)

Hey Jay who is a better depth pickup in a 12 team .5ppr

    Your boy Tyrell or Vereen

    Rbs: Hyde, Yeldon
Bench: Duke J, White, Ajayi, Lynch

    Wr: Hopkins, Dez, Cooper (flex)
    Bench: Coleman

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nightpandas: I think it’s Tyrell, but Vereen looked pretty good. I had to think about that one.

  18. Tony says:
    (link)

You have Chris Thompson over Jeremy Hill in PPR. Would you recommend that?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Tony: Begrudgingly right now. That might change a little on Friday… I’m just really frustrated with the Bengals run game at the moment.

      • Tony says:
        (link)

@Jay: And Hill didn’t get a single pass attempt :/ I think I’m going Hill, but if you’re right, I’ll never question you again.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Tony: Yeah, haha, I’m not infallible. And I’ll be honest, I rewatch all the football games during the week and take notes, and I haven’t rewatched the Cincy game yet. That’s why I do another update Friday night, so double check then.

  19. OldMilwaukeePounders says:
    (link)

    Jay,

Would you drop Christine Michael for Chris Thompson in a PPR league?

    Thanks, dude!

    • OldMilwaukeePounders says:
      (link)

@OldMilwaukeePounders: Also, would you consider Devontae Booker for Thompson in a different PPR league?

        • OldMilwaukeePounders says:
          (link)

          @Jay: Thanks, Jay.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@OldMilwaukeePounders: I’d hold one more week. There is a lot of talk right now coming out of Rawls and the Seahawks, but I don’t fully trust it yet. Ask Tehol too, he’s follows the Seahawks very closely.

  20. David says:
    (link)

Who to play at flex position this week? (12 team ppr)

Stefon Diggs, Isaiah Crowell, John Brown, or Tevin Coleman?

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @David: Goin Diggs there.

  21. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater says:
    (link)

Your rankings are blocked at my work, so sorry if they make it clear but would you start Ryan Matthews and Rashad Jennings over Lacy this week? I currently am.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dr. Kenneth Noisewater: No worries, that sucks they are filtered. I wonder if this is common…

I have Jennings at 35 and Lacy at 38 Mathews at 44.

  22. Dave says:
    (link)

    Hey Jay,

I am one of the unfortunates who might drink themselves to death because of Keenan. However I have a lot of WR depth with TY Hilton, Jarvis Landry, Jordan Matthews, Desean, Tajae Sharpe, Will Fuller (we start 3 WR’s and a flex, PPR). I want to combine 2 of them for a top receiver should I give like TY and Desean for Jordy or a trade like that? Which guy would you pair with TY that I should get rid of to get a guy like Jordy. Do you think I should even do this or just hold out with what I have?

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dave: JOIN MY CLUB GOOD SIR.

That is impressive depth, no doubt. I might try Hilton and Fuller at first and then move up to Matthews.

  23. Kyle B says:
    (link)

Would anyone here trade Ware for Kalvin Benjamin? I did lose Allen for the year so I am trying to shore up my top end WR. Maybe the owner will bite.

    • Brian says:
      (link)

@Kyle B: I would do that but wait to see what Jay says before pulling that trigger.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Kyle B: I’d want Benjamin there in a heartbeat. I totally agree with Brian here.

  24. sh says:
    (link)

Jay thanks for the weekly up dates. I am in a 12 team upto 32 player keeper and PPR. Good QBs are extremely hard to come by. Unless you draft them. I have 3 offers.
T.Siemain for a 2nd round pick in the rookie draft.
Siemain and woodhead for a 1st and 2nd round pick.
    or Woodhead for Wentz.
I have Gurley and L.Miller as my main Rb’s,and Fitzpatrick, Bradford and Mccown as my QB’s so nothing really big going forward.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@sh: Of course! I’d honestly do Woody for Wentz if that’s the case.

  25. Lion's Roar says:
    (link)

    What up Jay!

Struggling to decide who I should plug into my final 2 spots (WR/Flex). Rankings didn’t help me decide because most of these guys are grouped together. Which 2 are you rolling with? Full PPR.

    Marvin Jones
    Donte Moncrief
    Tajae Sharpe
    Travis Kelce

For another league (PPR), who are you trotting out there this week: Corey Coleman or Tyrell Williams?

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Lion’s Roar: Alright, so just to use that context, I’m going to tell you how I feel without going to my rankings.

Jones and Kelce and then Williams.

      • Lion's Roar says:
        (link)

@Jay: Thanks Jay. I wasn’t trying to undermine your work of putting these rankings together. I was hoping for more separation in the ranks and unsure of how close these guys actually were to one another.

        I appreciate your advice!

  26. Callmejayp says:
    (link)

    Flex half ppr?

    E. Sanders
    Amer Abdullah
    S. Watkins
    T. Sharpe
    Crabtree
    Carlos Hyde

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Callmejayp: Going Sanders there. But Hyde was close.

  27. Zachary says:
    (link)

I picked up Tevin Coleman this week, thinking he is too promising to doubt for much longer, but indecision on who to drop led me to jettison my starting Kicker instead of a Bench player to make temporary room. In order to field a full roster this Sunday, someone needs to get cut.

For a full PPR league, who would you guys recommend dropping?:

    Duke Johnson Jr.
    Justin Forsett
    Travis Benjamin

The rest of my WR/RB corps includes a logjam at WR: D. Hopkins, TY Hilton, D. Thomas, J. Landry and W. Fuller plus J. Gordon riding the pine.. and then I have Elliot, Rawls, and Bernard (plus Coleman) for RB now

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zachary: I think you can cut Forsett in this situation.

      • Zachary says:
        (link)

@Jay: Much appreciated Jay! you’re always fast as hell replying on these comment boards too thanks

  28. RonnieMatt says:

ppr league would you rather start in the flex carlos hyde or edelman?

  29. WillisReid says:
    (link)

First year in a 14 team, so my draft got a bit sideways…

RB- Miller /L Murray /Rawls/ Crowell

    WR- AJ/Wallace/John Brown/ Agholor

Should I look to move a RB for a WR upgrade? 2 RB 3 WR with 2 flex positions each week.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@WillisReid: I think you’re okay actually. Some feast and famine there… but I’d hold for now. Reassess in a few weeks and we’ll go over it.

@RayRiceKilledAMan: I’m going with your first four there. And thanks man!

  31. TheUpsideTouchdown says:
    (link)

Whaddup Jay. For my zero RB team I’m planning on playing woodhead & Langford in my RB slots. Flex options are Marvin Jones, Hilton and Blount and I can play one. Marvin here?

  32. Web says:
    (link)

I know the rankings say McCoy but is it crazy to start Blount over him? Talent says McCoy matchup says Blount.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Web: Yeah, that situation is a little too volatile for me to trust, thinking still McCoy here. Not crazy though.

  33. powerade says:

No PPR tab – Same as last week but now I’ve realized that the “PPR” tab is not viewable on Internet Explorer on my computer but I can see the tab on Safari on the iPhone.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@powerade: Haha, so weird. Yeah, FP said it’s not an issue they can pinpoint. I actually have no idea what’s going on. Maybe clear your cache or reinstall? If you email me, I’ll reattached the excels if you want to go that route.

  34. Cole says:
    (link)

Hey Jay, I lost Keenan in a super deep ppr league. Whour is the better stash for the rest of the way: Inman or Agholor or? Thanks man!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Cole: I choose the question mark. I think Inman is fine. In a deep league like that, he does help with PPR.

      • Cole says:
        (link)

@Jay: Jesus that’s the least coherent thing I’ve ever posted on here and I’m stone-cold-sober. I was trying to spell Agholor correctly and my phone was auto correcting in French

  35. JimmyJackJames says:
    (link)

Jay, I ran this by Tehol yesterday and would love to get your take – 14 team PPR league – can you rank the following ROS:

    Perriman, Green-Beckham, Enunwu, Kerley, Beasley

I’m debating on dropping Perriman and/or DGB for some of the slot jack rabbits.

Thanks bro – keep up the good work!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@JimmyJackJames: Probably Enunwu, Perriman, DGB, Kerley, Beasley. Thanks man!

  36. DT says:

    What up Jay!

got a quick question for you. 10 team ppr league. snead is somehow still available in our league. need to drop someone. my bench is e. sanders, a. foster, matt jones, and duke Johnson jr. was leaning towards Johnson due to the browns being the browns. what are your thoughts? I’ve got OBJ, Jordy, and G. Tate already but feel like you cant pass up on snead.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@DT: I have no idea why. Yeah, drop the Duke here.

  37. longbeachyo says:

It’s a 14 team league with with 10 starters… QB, WR, WR, RB RB, TE, flex, Sflex, K, Def.
    My team:
    Drew Brees NO – QB
Marvin Jones Jr. Det – WR

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@justin: Honestly? If you are streaming, I say do it. I like the Jets better long term, and they are close enough to where you can grab them now.

      • justin says:
        (link)

@Jay: yeh i pulled the trigger on that. dropped baltimore and grabbed jets.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@sh: Naw, not at this stage. I know the previous medical reports were okay, but this is still a career threatening injury, and they traded a lot for Bradford. Too many unknowns I think.

  40. Comatose says:
    (link)

would you rather handcuff Latavius or Langford, and with whom? Or would you keep Kenjon Barner for when Mathews inevitably goes down?

    • Jay

@Comatose: Probably Latty with with Richard. Eh, actually, now that I read the complete question, yeah, hold onto Barner.

  41. Jerry says:
    (link)

Hey, Jay! Who would you start in a full point ppr league this week: DeMarco, Jennings or Ware? Thanks for the help and sorry about Keenan Allen’s injury. I know you’re a huge Chargers fan. Hopefully, he’s able to come back better than ever next year!

    Hey Jay,

So after Kirk Cousin’s terrible start I’m going crazy looking for another QB to start. The league I’m in went bananas drafting QBs so I’m really stuck with Kirk on my roster, or should I pick up Matty Ice? HE looked good but he always spirals down at some point. What should I do?!?!

    Thanks!
