The fourth week of football (and fantasy football) has arrived, and with it the pain and suffering of being a Chargers fan has finally set in. Woe is me, just a man playing a game with first world problems. But we should always look on the bright side, the silver lining of it all. That’s the spirit! And so during this time of anguish and frustration, what’s the one thing that keeps my head up, that shining beacon of hope, the light at the end of the tunnel? Knowing that the Browns are still a thing that exists. Regardless, as we reach the first quarter of the season, we all certainly have other crisises? crisisee? crises to worry about beyond fandom, and that is the state of your fantasy football team. If you’ve been a reader of this site for a while, you all know that I’m a pretty conservative when it comes to the first month of the season. And if you’re new around here, well then, that last sentence was for you. So what are you waiting for? Now it’s time… we are in Week 4, and after this upcoming weekend, you should know what your team is about. What are its needs? The strengths? What’s your league look like? Any move(s) that you want to make needs to happen in the next two weeks, because even the teams at the bottom of the standings have a chance to turn it all around before then, they’re just looking for ways to do it. That should go for the teams up top and in the middle too. Start looking at your schedule (both in real football and fantasy), take note of byes, see what kind of matchups you’ll have… Basically, start setting up yourself to be the most informed fantasy football player the next two weeks and take advantage of it, because once we get to the end of October, only the top-third of you will still be around. But don’t worry, we’ll be sure to help you get through it all, especially since with two weeks of data in books, our rankings returned to our usual norms in Week 3, reaching the top 15% percentile of all experts and finishing 22nd overall last week.

Here are your Week 4 Fantasy Football Rankings (with our Rest of Season Rankings coming later today)…

Note: To all Razzball Commenter League players out there, our master standings are out and you can find them here or in the menu bar above, under “Leagues”.

Select the “Flex” tab if you need a more complete picture to decide your starts and sits. Use the “OP” tab for 2QB Leagues. And you can access our Half PPR and PPR rankings using the drop down box in the top left of our rankings when you select the RB, WR, TE, or Flex positions. Any and all questions will be answered below…

You can scratch Dez Bryant from the rankings I believe.

    • CMUTimmah says:
      (link)

@djsatane: Not sure he’s a definite scratch, and I’d assume all rankings are based on if they play, not if they can play. But if I’m a Dez owner, I’m nervous about having him go even if he’s suiting up.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@djsatane: Yeah, I took him out, thanks for the heads up!

  2. Old Dirty says:
    (link)

    There’s an owner in my league who just sent me a message that he is desperate for running backs. He has t. West, darkwa, and Chris Thompson as his only rbs . He said that cam newton, aj green and diggs are available. I don’t need wr help, but wouldn’t mind the qb upgrafde. Any ideas for what to offer him? I tried ;
Newton for Wilson/ ware (didn’t reject yet) I’d prefer a 2 for 1 to free up a spot for bye week purposes

1/2 point ppr, 12 team keeper

    I have
    Qb Wilson
    Rb freeman
    Rb sims
    Wr ab
    Wr Evans
    Te Thomas
Bench – Ryan, Jennings, ware, both Benjamins, Shepard

    Thanks again

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Old Dirty: Yeah, Newton for Wilson and Ware is okay, but I don’t think he accepts with Charles coming back into the picture. If that doesn’t work, see if he’d rather have Jennings or one of the Benjamins.

      • Old Dirty says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

He doesnt want anymore receivers and declined jennings.

Am i completely screwing myself over if i do sims/wilson for newton and a small piece ?

I would have ware and freeman to start this week at rb and hope that jennings comes back to health week 5?

I could also trade shepard or a benjamin for a rb down the line …

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Old Dirty: You aren’t, no. I think that’s okay, that scenario right there with Sims.

  3. The imp says:
    (link)

I get Eli’s ranking with Minny looking scary.
IIs Eli a droppable member of the stream team? Guys you ranked higher on the wire include (Joe, Andy, Dak, Brock, Trevor). Tyron has also been on waivers. Eli’s volume and yards are a nice floor that justify his 95% ownership. He just seems to need more TDs.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@The imp: Yeah, I think he is. And you’re right, not a fan this week. I think if you are looking for someone who could help this week and next week, Dalton might be okay. I’m hyping Brock for the first time this week, but I’ll admit, it’s scary to say that.

  4. Benny says:
    (link)

Would you trade Parker and Fuller for TY Hilton?

    • Benny says:
      (link)

@Benny: Fir context, here is my current WR corp. I can start up to 4 and have depth.

      Brown
      Jeffery
      Benjamin
      Parker
      Fuller
      Josh Gordon
      Hogan

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Benny: I would go for a slightly better upgrade. Maybe someone like a DT?

  5. Michael says:
    (link)

Great rankings love where you have Hill Dog! I think Beasley should be bumped and Britt as well.

So I am 0-3 and need to plan ahead. Owning Rivers no way in hell is he starting week 6,8 vs Denver, So grab Prescott (@ GB, PHI) or Dalton (@ NE, WAS) for the fill in. I have to be proactive in this league.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Michael: Hill has made me nervous all year though, I’d just state that for the record. I like Dalton there because of the WAS matchup. NE is tough, but I think Dak will have a hard time there with PHI.

  6. Old Dirty says:
    (link)

Received a trade offer of trading away coleman and receiving diggs in return?
    Ppr – 10 team
    Accept ?
    Qb – luck
    Rb – freeman
    Rb sims
    Wr julio
    Wr nelson
    Te walker
    Flex kelce
    Flex coleman
Bench – cobb, ivory, mckinnon, dorsett, ware, jennings

    Thanks

    • Old Dirty says:
      (link)

      @Old Dirty:

Or i just also received spencer ware for shepard?

      Take either trade?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Old Dirty: I like that trade for you, yeah.

      • Old dirty says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

Which trade do you think is better ?
        Ware for shepard?
        Coleman for diggs?

        Or take both ?

        Thanks

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Old dirty: I want Shepard and Diggs there.

  7. Eli Man Penguin Boy says:
    (link)

in a standard with huge roster space (but caps at every position) if you had rudolph/ebron for sure, and currently henry/allen (i see what rankings say for now), would you rather try to clean up the IND situation (dropping henry for doyle), or grab brate over henry/allen? or just hold? start 1 TE and have 2 flexes, and currently due to injuries (allen, keep 6 though so he’s not a drop with 2 IR’s, langford (also have howard), rawls) am starting one TE weekly at one of the 2 flexes. at least rudolph/ebron have moved ahead of allen/henry such that it’s not a hard decision about those 2 always playing currently.

if r.jones MIA doesn’t play tonight it’s all a moot point as i’d have to drop a TE to field 2 starting DB’s (burnett GB on bye and was hurt last week anyway).

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Eli Man Penguin Boy: Henry for Doyle is okay, but I’m sticking with Allen in the long run. And fair enough on Jones. TE are such fickle beasts anyhow.

  8. John says:
    (link)

    Standard League
Randall Cobb and Larry Fitz for A-Rob?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @John: A-Rob side.

  9. Eg says:
    (link)

How much is an appropriate bid for Jonathan Stewart in. a 14 team league? Thanks…

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Eg: Hmmm, check our FAAB guy, RotoLance, but I’d say (100 limit?) 15-25. Depends how your league bids on stuff like that too.

  10. Joe says:
    (link)

I was offered Gronk for Kelvin Benjamin and Kyle Rudolph in a 10 team standard league. Worth it?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Joe: Yeah, I’m okay with that depending on your WR depth.

  11. David says:
    (link)

    12 team ppr..
Start QB Siemien? Or pick up Andy Dalton for the week?
Dalton seems to be the popular start but I feel like siemien has more weapons.

And for RB, pick two for week 4..Crowell, Coleman, McKinnon?

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@David: I’m going Dalton there this week, and probably Mckinnon and Crowell there.

  12. Ashtray says:
    (link)

I currently have 7 guys listed as “Questionable”, 1 listed “Out” and another on a bye week. Filling my roster this week with confidence has been tough. I will probably need to cut someone in order to fill my Flex spot. Who would you drop?

    QB- Rivers, Bortles
RB – Johnson, Bell, Jennings (Q), Mathews (Q Bye)
    WR – Bryant (Q), Decker (Q), Baldwin, Parker (Q), Pryor, Moncrief (O)
    TE – Walker (Q), Thomas (Q)
    K – Bryant
    D- SEA

Also, pickings are slim. Who would you add:
    Chris Thompson
    Matt Asiata
    Kenyan Drake
    Dontrelle Inman
    Pierre Garcon
    Adam Humphries
    Kenny Britt
    Danny Amendola
    Kenny Stills

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Ashtray: I’m questionable for this week too, for what it’s worth. I think you can drop Thomas, as for who you should add, maybe something like Humphries or Drake.

      • Ashtray says:
        (link)

@Jay: Would you be opposed to losing Bortles also in order to grab both? Other FA QBs are Flacco, Wentz, Tannehill, Smith, Hoyer, Bradford…

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Ashtray: No, I have no problems with that. I think Wentz is better than him right now, Bradford too.

  13. Zandy says:
    (link)

who has higher ceiling/higher floor in the Bortles vs. Dalton debate?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: Bortles ceiling, Dalton floor… buuuuut honestly, they feel like the same thing to me, except one’s a ginger.

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

@Jay: Are we sure he’s a ginger and not just coloring his hair to match the Bengals color rush jerseys?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Zandy: Whoa, never thought of that…

  14. Toby says:
    (link)

Why so low on Ware? If Charles sits again, where would you rank him? And who would you start him over Forte or Christine Michael at Flex?

Also, I am thin at WR and stacked at RB (David Johnson, Leveon Bell, Forte, Michael, Ware, CAP). Who would you target in a trade for Forte?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Toby: That RB situation is ambiguous for me at the moment, so I’m not going full in for either. If Charles sits for sure, Ware would probably move up 4-8 spots I think. I might actually try and trade CMike and Forte for someone like A-Rob.

  15. Faiz says:
    (link)

Standard. Pick 2 to start this week in order. Shepar, Beasley, Fuller. Is beasley cowboys wr1 now?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Faiz: Shepard and Fuller. Beasley is at the lower-end of two, maybe high three. But that could change. I won’t deny him and Dak have something.

  16. T Buns says:
    (link)

Crowell or Howard? PPR and half point per carry league.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@T Buns: Howard by a hair right now.

  17. ryanoger says:
    (link)

    .5 ppr keeper

Should I drop Eli Rogers for Crowder or Smallwood?

    thanks jay

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @ryanoger: For Crowder, yeah. NP!

  18. Dave says:
    (link)

Worth dropping Derrick Henry to stash Kenneth Dixon? (PPR)

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Dave: Sure, I think that’s wise.

  19. Jeremy says:
    (link)

In a 2-QB league, I need a fill-in for Rodgers this week. I currently have Prescott set to go, but Semien is available. Is the likelihood of Dez not playing enough to put Semian ahead, or should I just roll with Dak?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jeremy: Yeah, I have the Dak attack there.

  20. Dave says:
    (link)

    Hey Jay,

I’m 0-3 in my most important league and was just offered Matthew Stafford and Brandin Cooks for Tyrod Taylor and AJ Green. The rest of my roster is below.

    QB: Tyrod Taylor
    RB: Latavius Murray
    RB: Christine Michael
    WR: AJ Green
    WR: Dez Bryant
    TE: Julius Thomas
    Flex: Jordan Matthews

Bench: Mariotta, Ryan Mathews, Duke Johnson, Randall Cobb, Phillip Dorsett, Kevin White, Quincy Enunwa

I think with my quarterback situation this is a no brainer right?

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dave: Eh, I’m actually not high enough on Stafford here. I’d rather hold honestly. Or at least try to find an upgrade with Mathews and Cobb.

  21. William Hung says:
    (link)

I’m nervous about putting in Gio Bernard tonight. If the Bengals establish the run against the Dolphins then he’s not getting on the field as much.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@William Hung: Yeah, I can sorta agree with that. The Dolphins could just collapse in every way too, which is also a possibility.

  22. William Hung says:
    (link)

Are you off the Torrey bandwagon? I see you have Adam Humphries ranked ahead of him

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@William Hung: Yeah, I think Humphries has been sneaky and on the rise, already jumped V-Jax.

  23. Christian Herman says:
    (link)

In a league where I own Julius & eifert, is it ok to drop Julius for pitta? Eifert may not play/be used in full capacity anyway next week & the jags are on a bye

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Christian Herman: Yeah, all those guys can be interchanged I think.

  24. Citizen5 says:
    (link)

Jay, I’m debating benching WR Evans and starting WR M Jones and T Benjamin at WR2 and Flex. My RBs are McCoy and Ingram and WR1 is OBJ. Your rankings agree with my decision. Do you concur?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Citizen5: Ouch, yeah, I think that’s fine, but what a problem to have…

  25. Dingo the Fleecer says:
    (link)

Looking for some trade advice, my team is below. 12 team league, .5 PPR. I already lost Keenan Allen and Woodhead. I have an offer to get Hill and Maclin, for Gordon and Dwayne Washington. Thoughts? Clearly I lack solid RB depth and Gordon has risk, but curious if you think I should wait and see with him? Would you do this trade?

    Brees
    Latavious
    Gore
    AJ green
    AROB
    Tamme
    Marvin Jones
    Panthers D

    Gordon
    Moncrief
    Ertz
    Deandre Washington
    Dwayne Washington
    MCCluster
    Smallwood

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dingo the Fleecer: The trade is fair, but honestly, I’d rather hang onto Gordon for now.

      • Dingo the Fleecer says:
        (link)

@Jay: Thanks and My bad for not clarifying. I meant JOSH Gordon, not Melvin (if you didn’t know). So clearly I’m fairly thin at RB. Does that change your assessment?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Dingo the Fleecer: Oh, then I actually think you should still stay and see what Gordon’s all about.

          • Dingo the Fleecer says:
            (link)

@Jay: Just seeing it now. Unreal, had him on 3 teams. The funny part is, and typical FFL, is that I had posted something about trading away Keenan Allen preseason (to the same guy this trade was with)! Unreal!!!

  26. omar says:

12 team 1pt PPR. Which group would you rather have ROS?

    Team A
    A-Rob

    Forte
    Duke Johnson
    Eifert

    Team B
    A-Rob

@omar: Team B. But pretty close with A.

  27. TTRA1N says:
    (link)

Need help. Offered Mike Evans for my CJA. Idk what to do? Should I ride CJA since RB position is so shallow? Should I be worried about CJAs lack usage against the Bengals? Team below.

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@TTRA1N: I wouldn’t be worried about CJA, but I like this trade for you. You definitely need another WR.

  28. a bag of sand says:
    (link)

Is A Gates droppable in 12 team .5 ppr leagues?
Have him and D Allen while Z Miller and Barnidge are both available.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@a bag of sand: I’d say no, but it depends how much longer we have to wait for him. If you’re in a roster crunch, it’s okay, but I’d rather have Gates than Miller and Barnidge.

  29. MJP says:
    (link)

    Would you rather have:
    A) Luck and McKinnon
    B) Carr and Christine Michael

    Current Team 12-team Half PPR

      @MJP: A side there.

  30. Big W says:
    (link)

    Hi Jay,

thanks for the write up and rankings!

I noticed you have mckinnon one spot ahead of crowell. I’ve seen other perts put crowell ahead of mckinnon and this is the first i’ve seen mckinnon favored between the two.

I own both players, but only have room to pay one. I was going to go with crowell, but now I’m second guessing myself.

If you don’t mind, can you please explain why you like mckinnon more than crowell this week?

    thank you!

    Big W

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Big W: No probs! It’s a coinflip, but I like the matchup against the Giants a bit more. Washington has been a little bit stronger in the run, and has a horrible secondary, I feel like Cleveland will try to concentrate on that.

    hi jay,

as flex, you like devante @ cin or dwyane washington @ chi ? i was thinking devante but feels like this week is the one dwyane will take over. what do you think?

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@shaq: Yeah, it’s okay to give Washington a shot, sure.

  33. Ian says:
    (link)

Great job again Jay! keeper forever league…I don’t want to miss out on a stud WR of the future. Would your gut say Enunwa or Dorial Green? Thanks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Ian: Thanks man! I’d say Enunwa for this season and the next, but DGB has the ceiling for sure… just not much to show for.

  34. Oppo Taco says:
    (link)

Im sitting at 1-2 and in somewhat of panic mode to win this week, I like my team okay but riddled with injuries at the moment. I also know you like Cobb to rebound But I was thinking of Offering Cobb and Hunter for Reed. 0.5 PPR. Thoughts?
    QB – Russell
    WR – AJ Green
    wr – Parker
    wr – T benj
    rb – Lamar
    rb – Michael
    te – Hunter
    flex – D Washington
Bench – T Coleman, Watkins, Booker, D Henry, Moncrief, Cobb

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Oppo Taco: Yeah, it’s a fair trade at the moment. I think you can hold, but you have plenty of WRs to do this, so it makes sense.

  35. The G says:

    Jay,

Great work with the rankings as always!

@The G: Thanks man! Going Riddick there.

  36. Re-Pete says:

    Got offered a trade.
My Zeke for his Gurley and Diggs.

I feel like I really don’t need another WR and Gurley hasn’t been all that great. On paper Elliott has more carries and more yards coming into 3rd place overall on carries/yrds. With Diggs included in the trade I wanted a second opinion..

@m1chael: I’d do it. I still think it favors you here. Your WR depth could definitely use Diggs.

    14 team PPR

    QB: Palmer
    WR:Dez
    WR: Brandon Marshall
    WR: Travis Benjamin
    RB: Carlos Hyde
    RB: Latavius Murray
    TE: Colby Fleener
    FL: Frank Gore
    B: Tevin Coleman
    B: Mike Wallace
    B: Rishad Matthews
    B: Clive Walliford
    B: Alex Smith
    B: Chris Thompson

Would you offer Tevin Coleman for Julian Edelman? Doubt it goes through and it might be a stretch, but how much do you believe in Tevin and would you try to sell high for a stud WR that even though i have wallace in backup?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @chris: Yup, love Edelman there.

      (link)

      @justin: Going Hill there.

  41. I’m hoping you will help me get off the fence on my flex choice Jay; Travis Benjamin vs NO, DeSean Jackson vs CLE, Matt Jones vs CLE or Dwayne Washington @ CHI. 10 team standard. Thanx!

  42. FilthyRich says:
    (link)

Standard scoring, which 2 wr would you start: beckham, Hilton, marvin jones

They’re so close in the rankings just wondering which you feel has better chance of big game or flip side – being shutdown.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@FilthyRich: Probably Jones and Beckham to get the ceiling there.

  43. Nightpandas says:

Rawls or Tate worth a stash? One league i would have to drop Ajayi, Crowder or Darkwa (or 2)

In another league I could get Rawls as well but would have to drop Gates (I have Rudolph as well)

    • Nightpandas says:
      (link)

      @Nightpandas: 12 team .5ppr

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nightpandas: I think Rawls still is. Both drops are okay, but I’d still hold on Gates to see how his status develops.

  44. CG says:
    (link)

Would you trade Zeke for Olsen and Jarvis Landry? 0.5 ppr, I currently have Forte, McKinnon, Rawls, Derrick Henry and Tevin Coleman at RB, and at WR I’ve got ARob, Amari, Demaryius Thomas and Diggs.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @CG: No, I’d hold there.

Gore & M Jones for Hopkins?
    .5 PPR

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@a bag of sand: I think that’s okay, but you should be able to do that Jones for Hopkins straight up if you ask me.

@bob gum: Jones, Jeffrey and Evans. No probs!

believe in ghostface barnidge or rookie hunter henry this week?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@cory: I still like Henry, he had a bad fumble at the end of the game, but no question that Rivers was going to him.

Who are you starting in a standard points league, CMike or Howard? I have lamar miller and lave on already. Also who do you think I can maybe trade Howard for, or is on his level in your mind, since I have 4 good RBs and need WR depth?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@RonnieMatt: Still going Michael there. Maybe a WR3. I’d see if Cobb is available, something like that.

  49. Revi says:

Odell beckham and Asiata or Evans and Lat Murray half point Ppr league

Other running backs besides lat would be.
Leveon, Asiata, tevin Coleman, rashad Jennings, ajayi

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@Revi: Beckham side. It’s really really close.

I hate asking this question because I do look at your rankings so I feel like I’ll know the answer before I ask the question if that makes any sense. I guess I’m just looking for some re assurance. Would you start Ware over Howard ? I was, also trying to find a way to get djax in my lineup but would have to bench t benjamin, DT or AJ Green to do it and that’s difficult to do so I suppose you will tell me to bench djax.

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Brian: Naw man, ask away. That’s what I’m here for, every team is different. Yeah, unless we hear something that changes Charles’ outlook a lot, I think Ware could be worth it. If it does look like Charles is going to be involved a lot, then Howard is a safer play.

12 team 1pt PPR. Which group would you rather have ROS:

    Forte
    Gronk
    Snead

    Le’Veon
    Eifert
    Devante Parker

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@omar: Bell side, but it’s close.

Would you drop Dwayne Allen for H. Hunter or Gary Barnidge?

Would you sit mike evens for Crabtree this? week half ppr

  55. dom says:
    (link)

I’m concerned about Latavius Murray’s touches and wouldn’t mind dealing him soon. You have him ranked pretty well for ROS though but not very high on this week. I’ve been offered DeVante Parker for him. This is a 10 team PPR league what do you think? 3 starting RB 3 starting WR and 1 Flex

    my WR and RB are
    Lamar Miller
    CJ Anderson
    Charles Sims
    Yeldon
    Latavius Murray
    DeAndre Washington

    AJ Green
    Alshon Jeffery
    Dorsett
    M Floyd
    M Thomas
    T Smith
    J Matthews

    thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@dom: I want Murray. I think this is one of those cases where 60% touches are actually beneficial for him. I understand trying to trade him though, that part is totally fine, but I think you can get more than Parker.

  56. James says:

SHould have listened to me when I suggested to switch Carson Palmer with Carson Wentz. :nudge:

This week’s advice, under the FLEX rankings, switch Lamar Miller with TY Hilton

    • Jay

@James: Haha, I’ll see what I can do!
