In the words of one of the more quotable presidents in recent memory, ‘ya fool me can’t get fooled again’.  Read that with a Texans accent and you’ll get a better feel for who we’re going with here.  Still no?  Eh, ok, I’m not here to give you a recent presidential history lesson so I’m dropping the subject and moving on to the real story.  Namely Nick Foles.  Yes, the Nick Foles that put up a terrible line against a terrible defensive secondary in the Dallas Cowboys just two weeks ago which started the tailspin conversation of Chip Kelly’s offense ‘not working’ and being overrated.  I get the negativity.  Coming into today’s game, the Eagles hadn’t scored an offensive touchdown in 10 quarters.  Yes, Tampa Bay scored an offensive touchdown or two in that same span.  Yes, so did the Jaguars.  Heck, a guy who only played on 19 snaps for his own team in week 8 – Marvin Jones – scored 4 touchdowns.  What the heck was going on here?  Oh NFL and your wily ways.  When will we ever understand that this game ebbs and flows and just when it seems a team is the worst in the league that just a few adjustments could turn it around?  Foles had a terrible day in Dallas, make no mistake.  But then he got concussed and Vick stepped in for week 8 and it was clear he wasn’t healthy enough to be playing and in stepped 3rd stringer Matt Barkley.  Well, I don’t know about you but it’s not very often I expect my third string QB to step in and lead a scoring drive.  I am bringing all of this up to say don’t be worried about being Fole’d again.  The kid and this offense can function at a high level.  No, his channeling of the ghost of Peyton Manning – he’s dead to those who have him on bye this week – isn’t going to happen week in and week out.  But I am saying the kid is good and can be good and will be good as he threw TD passes to 4 different receivers and finished 23/29 for 409 yards on the dot, 7 TDs and zero INT.  Two QB leagues…well, he should already be owned.  But if I have some iffy QB like Matt Ryan at this point, I’d jump at the chance at upside here and go with Nick.  If you don’t put a waiver or some monies down on him this week, well…you don’t get Foles again.  NO NO!  In other news from the fine Sunday that was week 9 of the 2013 Fantasy Football season…

Riley Cooper – When presented with Cole Beasley and David Nelson as your other options, you go with Cooper.  Or so I told J-FOH.  After a 5/139/3 day with 18 rushing yards to boot, I sure hope he listened to me.  I know I did in a couple of leagues.  I like listening to me sometimes.  The QB threw 7 touchdowns so yes, I’m glossing over DJax – 5/150/1 – but you knew he was good coming into the game.  Cooper with a QB not named Vick starting under center has put up these numbers: 15/347/4 on 19 targets.  Foles stays, Cooper becomes a fun WR3 moving forward.

Chris Johnson – I don’t ever remember CJ being a volume play.  A lot of people were down on him once they heard Shonn Greene would get ‘about 15 touches a game’ to which I said, ‘good, CJ won’t get as beat up and can stay fresh for some big plays’.  I know the opponent was perfect for CJ to go off against as he finished with 170 total yards and 2 TDs to go with 3 receptions but he’s had good matchups and soiled them this year.  I’m saying things be different, y’all, and to embrace the two-headed rushing attack in Titans country.  Yes, I’m also telling you to own Shonn – 66 total yards and a TD – as there’s plenty of touches to go around.

Zac Stacy – It was a battle of teams that couldn’t stop the run.  Only difference being that STL only had one guy that TEN couldn’t stop while the Titans had 2.  Ah well, Stacy did his job: 27/127/2 on the ground and 6/51 on 7 targets through the air.  It’s official: Zac is an RB maniac.

Keenan Allen – Went for 8/128/1 as the Chargers offense never really got into much of a groove.  Not a bad day for it being grooveless, though.  With 11 targets on the day, I’m sure you’re still as keen on Allen as I am.

Adrian Peterson – *Peaks at boxscore and sees 177 total yards and a touchdown*.  Yup, he’s still good.

Rashad Jennings – Stop me if you’ve heard this before but Limp DMC went down with an injury.  Jennings went for 15/102/1 on the ground and 7/74 through the air as his replacement and you got 12 yards on 5 carries  as a DMC owner.  Yes, this was against one of the worst defensive units.  Yes, that’s why Rashad did what he did.  No, you can’t get a redo.  Yes, you can get angry at yourself for drafting him.

Jimmy Graham – Well, I said to sell him because of his injury so of course a week he gets 2 more TDs, plays more snaps and finishes with 9/116 on 12 targets.  Words, I have none.  I’m still selling because of the nature of the injury but I’m still getting top dollar while I’m at it.  If it’s any consolation to you, I believe what I say and sat him today in favor of Jordan Reed.  Yeah, prolly gonna lose there…

Tim Wright – With Mike Williams out for the remainder of the year, Wright is gonna be a nice TE play from here on out and he didn’t disappoint today: 4/58/1.  Oh and Mike James rushes for 158 on 28 carries and chips in 2 catches for 8 yards.  Oh and this little jump pass to Crabtree.  Yes, TB still lost.  Doesn’t mean there isn’t any weapons here to exploit.

Chris Ivory – I can’t remember who I said it to earlier last week but I said I liked Ivory to have a revenge game against his former team.  After 18 for 139 and a touchdown, I’ll say revenge complete.  Excluding the Bengals debacle of a game where no one for the Jets was good, Ivory has 2 100 yard rushing games and a touchdown.  And yes this is the guy I had much love for when I posted my Chris Ivory Sleeper post earlier this summer.  I’m guessing Rex Ryan finally read it.  It took ya long enough to get him touches, you footsie playin’ perv!  Hopefully this keeps up for the team that picked him up after you dropped him for Bilal Powell…oops.

Alfred Morris – These three TD weeks by random RBs who aren’t The Butler are really cheesing me off and I don’t even own him anywhere.  Oh well, he still netted you 121 and a TD but seeing that D. Young line in the box score makes pretty much everyone who plays this game want to give up and play in traffic no doubt.  Why not spell out D. Young’s name you ask?  Because I refuse to state the name of pure evil out loud.

Pierre Garcon – Earlier this week he complained about the passing attack in Washington.  I think he was heard.  No TDs but hard to hate on 7/172 from Peter Waiter.  May I have another sir?

Tom Brady – Ruh-Roh, looks like Brady has learned how to pass again.  And whaddayaknow, he has healthy players like Amendola (4/122/1) and Gronkowski (9/143/1) playing for him.  Amazing how that works.  A lot of negativity surrounding Tom as of late.  It hasn’t all been him, folks.  It looks like he has his big three finally with Aaron Dobson in full swing (4/130/2) as ‘that other guy’ for Brady.  It’s gonna be an interesting stretch run for the Pats when Vereen gets back and by interesting I mean ‘when you face Brady in fantasy, make sure and not to prematurely wet your pants’.

Stevan Ridley – The day I understand how Bill will use Ridley is the day I’ll have sold cold fusion.  A week after not even getting a snap in the first quarter, Ridley goes for 26/115/2 and 3/9 through the air along with a fumble.  But after the fumble, Bill still kept playing him.  Like he always NEVER DOES.  I think Bolden’s either hurt or in the dog house for mysterious things like Ridley was earlier this year.  Seriously, networks, you want a drama guys would watch: feature the weekly off-field goings on of all the Pats running backs.  The deceit.  The betrayal.  The other catchy words that make people watch crappy dramas.  Cash money.

Greg Little – Yeah, of course Gordon and Cameron drop duds and we get the Little (7/122) and Bess (3/24/2) show.  Before you ask, yes I’m interested in Greg…but only a little.  Pun point!  Davone?  He’s Bess left alone…DAILY PUN DOUBLE!

Jerricho Cotchery – Leave it to the oldest receiver with a first name that’s of biblical age and a last name that sounds like ‘crotchety’ to be the top Steelers receiver on the day (7/96/3).  Sanders and Brown were fine too but that’s what happens when someone throws for 400 yards.  Heading into SNF, three QBs threw for 400 or more yards on Sunday and 5 for over 350.  That TEN vs STL matchup felt like a throwback game.

Marlon Brown – With Torrey Smith blanketed all day by Haden, it had to be someone else for the Ravens and today it was Brown.  He’s still too young to hang your hat on from week to week but who’s sitting on your bench?  Austin Pettis?  Pick him up!

Tony Gonzalez – Had a great first half with 6/81/1 but went silent with the rest of his mates in the second half.  Coincidence?  I think not.  Atlanta can no longer be described as ‘Hot-lanta’.  They’ve went from the Dirty Bird to Dirty Birdy pretty quickly.

Jason Witten – Looks like Romo realized Witten still exists this week: 8/102/1.  You’d think for how old Jason is, Tony would have a harder time forgetting he was there.  I mean, Dez was literally yelling in his year last week.  A clear sign of old age if you can’t hear your teammates on the sidelines.

Russell Wilson – I kinda hate him right now.  Yes, you heard that right.  As a Seahawks fan, I’m having a hard time loving this guy.  Of course, I have a hard time loving the offensive game plan of late in general.  Seriously, no way do we fall behind like this if we ground and pound all day and Wilson put us in bad spots all day just as much as he did good.  Yes, I own Lynch in quite a few leagues.  Yes, I’m giving the ‘hawks sideline the middle finger right now in solidarity with BeastMode.

Sunday Night Football – I have you covered for a while with JayWrong currently trying to beat an indecent exposure charge in a local Toys ‘R’ Us.  I know the checkout lady was cute, Jay, but she wasn’t asking about YOUR banana in pajamas.  I’m kidding of course.  Jay did that at a 7-11 after downing his 3rd bottle of 3 dollar wine.  I don’t think he was even provoked to do so.  And I’m pretty sure the heavily bearded cashier was not amused either.  But I digress, the reality is Jay is working the Baseball side of Razzball for a while as the main baseball guy over there, Grey, is getting hitched.  Apparently his wife to be didn’t like the idea of her hubby spending the honeymoon hunched over a laptop answering questions about November mock drafts.  Come to think of it, he shouldn’t have to do that.  Seriously, November mock drafts in baseball?  You’re sick, bruh.  Anyways, down below you’ll see the festivities of tonight’s game (that’s what she said!) and will do so for a while until Jay is back on this side of the site.

Case Keenum - He’s a wild child and I love it.  Lotta comparisons being flung about concerning this unique Case.  I’ve heard Ryan Fitzpatrick, I’ve heard Tony Romo, I’ve heard Brett Favre and I’ve even heard ‘a bit of Drew Brees’ but that’s namely because he’s not a huge QB.  I think the thing to latch onto after a night like he had – 350 with 3 TDs and 26 yards rushing – is there’s gonna be some bad that goes with this style of play.  He’s totally James Dean out there…no, I said ‘Dean’ not ‘Deen’.  Kids these days…I’m saying he’s a rebel without a cause!  There’s where the Romo/Favre comparisons make sense to me.  He’s gonna have some 3 INT games with this style, no doubt.  Now where he learned to drop back 5 miles to make a pass, well maybe that’ll be his ‘signature move’ until someone tells him it’s a terrible thing to do.

Andre Johnson – Guy had 4 TD catches all of last year.  Didn’t have any coming into the night for 2013.  Caught three in tonight’s game to go with his 9/229 night.  Buh-bye Schaub…

Arian Foster – Left after the first series after experiencing back issues.  He entered the game with hamstring issues.  All this to say that he did play even if the box scores don’t say as much.  Yeah, I’d be a little worried as a Foster owner right now.  Ben Tate filled in cracked ribs and all for 22/81 but looked like he wanted to take on as much contact as my wife does after a day of football and beer from me.

T.Y. Hilton – I told you to BUY a couple of weeks ago.  I hope for all that is good and holy you did.  After a TY-fecta in the endzone going for 7/121 on the night, I think we can squish those nasty DHB rumors, no?

Trent Richardson – Never has a running back made me question my sanity more than T-Rich.  I’m going full on Van Damme up in this.  That’s not a looping gif, that’s really Jean on a Sunday, BTW.  For cereal though, I am angfrustrannoyed at this point with how he’s played, how he’s being used and how I’m being used while being played by this whole mess.

The Seahawks offensive coordinator made poor decisions, too many to list…but I hope we can get back into the I formations with Lynch and Mike Rob and read options out of the shotgun Wilson. Establishing the run in the first half helps develop the play action which gives our wideouts more time to get separation and most importantly Russell more time to throw it.

We have to believe in Russell. We get our big lineman back next weekend and hopefully Harvin too. I’m kind of scared shitless about going into Atlanta and facing a pissed off Matt Ryan and a crowd that remembers the playoffs last year…but you’re right, we need to run the ball 15 times with Lynch in the first half, wear down the defense.

What are your thoughts on next weeks game?

@GoHawks: These last two games have reminded me of what SF looked like in weeks 2 and 3. Main difference being Wilson is a better passer than Kaep. It’s an identity issue right now. We were driving hard and well behind Lynch in the first quarter to start. Then we have TO in the passing game and totally abandoned the run on the next few drives. I love Wilson but the flipside is he’s not supposed to be out there slinging the ball that much and doesn’t need to be, especially with the poor pass protection we’ve got going on.

ATL looks like a wounded duck of a team. Their oline is having just as bad of a time as ours is and Ryan isn’t mobile. If our defense shows up, we’ll be fine. Just really would like to see 25 carries for Lynch by the end of the game before OT happens.

@Sky: I am a Niners fan, so I am biased but Seahawks have looked strong when everyone is looking but have looked really weak multiple times. They started sputtering in week 1 but can ignore that a little as the season goes on I guess but the offensive struggles have been there all year. The only convincing quality win this year has been a natonally televised Niners game, but the Texans, Colts, and Bucs games did not make them look like the best team in the league at all.

I am pretty confused as to how everyone has them as clear cut better team than the Niners, who were struggling when they played in Seattle, or any of the other NFC favorites. Russell hasn’t been special. The D and running game are legit but the passing game is enough of a weakness for me to put them jumbled in the top 5-6 teams with the rest of the flawed but elite teams in the league.

Well I will say this. Come from behind wins say alot about a team and SEA has done that plenty now. I wouldn’t say they’ve put together their best games yet this year but I also wouldn’t lump a team with one loss with 5 or 6 teams. The main struggle has been the lack of good pass blocking and a non-committal approach to the run of late but the defense has been solid and the overall team gets better when Harvin is at full strength. I’d say the only place SF outmatches them is at offensive line and TE. I’d say everything else is even or in SEA’s favor.

          • Deck says:
            (link)

@Sky: We shall see. I think one loss looks nice but that should be two outside of a horrible QB decision from my hometown team. Overall they haven’t been dominant like everyone seems to want to pretend they have.

They are a good team, but the defense has been a little weaker lately. Actually everything has been a little weaker lately. They are slumping and will put it together, I just think this whole the path to the Super Bowl goes through Seattle is a little overblown. They are good and will get it straightened out but I expect the Niners to protect their homefield which will be a reset in the division.

IMO the Seahawks need to follow the plan the Niners did when they started struggling and just become a run heavy, possession based, defensive team that is focused on ball control. To me these teams are mirror images and the Niners have the advantage of struggling earlier but by playoff time it will be a coin flip regardless of venue.

Once I see how SEA responds to the break against ATL, we can talk. For now, I’m marking that game down as a loss if we stroll in with only 1 loss still and keep doing the same thing.

              Sky says:

You’re preaching to the choir, RE: run game, as you can see from what I posted. My concern is Seattle doesn’t note their struggles and keeps acting like nothing is wrong. Then we’re in trouble. The defense has the same problem as any team that doesn’t play from ahead: the run game gets utilized and wears the defense down. Our defense and your defense have a lot of similarities in that regard. 49ers were getting run over earlier in the year.

I will say this and I think you’d have to agree: playing Seattle in Seattle in the playoffs isn’t a thing any team would want to do. Are you talking about the Texans and Schaub about the ‘one bad decision’? I hope so. I’m assuming a game your tema loses 3-29 has more than one mistake happening.

I’d say the same thing about Denver or any team that’s 7-1 or 6-2. Every team has a weakness. That’s why it’s important for SF to stick to the ground game like they’ve done again. Kaep is great but he’s not a guy I want out there trying to get me to come from behind on a 2 TD deficit. That’s where I’d trust Wilson more and why the ‘hawks have been able to overcome their inefficienies in my book. Of course, said inefficiencies have been created by throwing too much early on so it’s been a double-edged sword.

              • Deck says:
                (link)

@Sky: Most definitely referring to Schaub, the Niners game just snowballed out of control and they got slammed. Playing Seattle in Seattle is not a great situation at all and a huge advantage, although I have to say looking at how quiet they got in the TB game was interesting. Obviously everyone wants to get up early on every team but I think that is a priority in Seattle. The way that game started I think any playoff quality team could’ve put that one away.

My point is that I don’t think Seattle has separated themselves from SFO, NO or GB. You could rank those teams in any order and I could see it. I would have to spread the odds evenly across those teams with maybe GB a little below.

BTW how is the tie broken if Niners win out and Seattle only loses to SFO?

                • Sky

No arguments here about the TB game.

GB with Lacy I could see being given the nod, actually, if we had to make a choice. THeir defense is solid enough and with Rodgers having a complimentary running game…watch out. Drew Brees has been surprisingly inconsistent. He’s had at least 4 or 5 INTs called back because of penalties or we’d be looking at him in a different light this year. His offensive line has also struggled but he doesn’t have the legs to make that a non-factor like Wilson has. If I had to rank right now, NO wouldn’t be in the convo for me.

Good question, I honestly don’t know. Total points from the two matchups maybe? Inter-Division record?

    Hey Sky,

    12 team ppr.
Based on your player analysis above I think I already know your answer but which pair scores more points remainder of the season?

Graham and Fitzgerald or Megatron and Wright?

I currently have the Graham side but thinking bout making that trade. Is it a good deal or too much? And would you keep Fitzgerald in that deal or replace him with Decker or Garcon.

I also own Wright so I would be asking for a B.Tate back with Megatron for Graham and the WR.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

@James: It’s probably gonna be the Fitz side, but Larry isn’t going to provide consistency. Wright I like but his endline on Sunday is about what you should expect from his good days. Not something to get crazy about.

Tate’s fair but the whole trade is a gamble because of Fitz.

      • James says:
        (link)

I think Graham provides risk with his injury concern and Megatron will provide more points then him. I see Fitz being better then Wright most weeks but like you said, very inconsistent. Wright I see getting 5+ catches a week because theyre always playing from behind (except yesterday) and hes the 2nd option on that team.

I have other RBs, so Tate becomes a player I would only use if Foster went down.

Zac Stacy startable over below RBs for ROS in Std leagues?

Demarco Murray – Even if he is not injured.I am not sure we can trust him?

Ridley – I do not beleive Bill belichek and how he plays Ridley along with Vereen

Gio Bernard – Like him but can I trust hom over Zac.

Chris Johnson – Once in a blue moon.He will rest on that laurel for ROS i feel.

Ray Rice – I feel very bad to state this.Until I see more I am starting Zac do u agree?

MJD / TRich – Obviously I am stating obvious. Not sure what to do with these 2 cant even sell for 50 cents on the dollar

Ellington – May be we need to see more and also dont believe the coach

Carolina backfield – To me its a mess. Not sure why Carolina cant get one good receiver for Newton but paying tons of money for RBs.

Ivory – Even though I like him not sure I can trust him over Stacy

NO backfield – Its time share and also never reliable

Ryan Matthews – I feel he is inconsistent but may be I should play him based on matchup over Stacy???

Humble Brag! I’d still say Vereen because it’s PPR. Don’t trust Ryan in making sound RB choices any further than I do his feet under the table at dinner with me.

Who else was Luck going to throw to in his mind? Your league mate is a ninny. Congrats!

      (link)

He’s the main ball carrier for PIT so I’d have to. More touches = more opportunity. Just don’t like him or the offense he’s on. Decent not great in my book but most likely a top 15 RB ROS

  11. Wilsonian says:

Well, CJ and Ridley on the bench made me score a lot less than I could have (I’m looking at you Reed and Gordon), but I still scored a ton and have Forte tonight and I already have it locked up. Luckily for you, Mr. Sky. I didn’t even have to worry about Mr. Johnson’s coming out party last night in Houston – pun very much intended.

Anyway, what to do with Mr. Sproles in my shallow league? He’s been beyond terrible and now he’s concussed. Check out this here monster of a roster and let me know if you think I should cut him for one of these available gents. And do I continue to hang on to Harvin? This is my current lineup for Week 10. Thanks.

    IR – Vereen

FAs: Shorts III, Cooper, Ivory (there are more, but these are the only guys I want)

0.5 PPR, 6 points per TD, 3 point bonus at 85 yards receiving/100 yards rushing, 6 point bonus at 135 yards receiving/150 yards rushing

Can cut for Shorts as a volume play or trade chip.

Not sure why everyone expected Harvin back and is now asking to cut him. Week 11 was the target date and I’m pretty sure that’s what you’ll get.

Leave it to the Ravens to make Davone Bess a fantasy stud. What a weird day for Cleveland offensively.

      • Wilsonian says:
        (link)

@Sky: You don’t think your boy Ivory is going to beast on some teams now? He looked great yesterday. I know it was against his former team. But I saw a little Lynch in there. And there are NO RBs available other than him.

I’ll gladly hang on to Harvin, I just read some things about a setback and whatnot, so I wasn’t sure if it was even worth it, especially in a shallow league like this.

        • Sky

          Sky says:
          (link)

I called him baby beastmode this off-season! Stupid Rex…I love Ivory but gameflow dictates how he’s used. He’ll be hit and miss as much as the Jets have been this season the rest of the way. He should be a good play next week but all it takes is for NYJ to fall behind 2 scores and poof, he’s gone from the gameplan.

Yeah, I never saw him back as early as everyone talked about. He was originally scheduled to return at or after Thanksgiving. I still think that’s the target date. He’s a PPR monster once he gets going. You have time/roster depth to wait. Should be good for your playoff run.

          • Wilsonian says:
            (link)

@Sky: yeah, he is really just for bench depth, in case someone goes down. So I may actually go with him over Shorts. Mostly because I don’t really NEED another WR. I have a pretty nice collection as it stands now. RBs are tougher to come by, even though they score a little less than WRs in this league.

I’ll hang on to Harvin for now. He could be a nice little plug and play in the playoffs.

            • Sky

              Sky says:
              (link)

Yeah, I think he’s gonna be good for playoff teams. And the main reason I didn’t put him in my rankings after he got hurt for regular leagues. I wonder how many people drafted and dropped him? Would be an interesting stat.

              • Wilsonian says:
                (link)

@Sky: yeah, he was drafted and dropped in my league. I dropped Keenan Allen for him awhile ago. Probably shouldn’t have done that. But with my WR depth it hasn’t been a huge issue.

So Ivory or Shorts? Ivory or Shorts? I do have Bryant on BYE in week 11 and then Green on BYE in week 12. But I have Decker/Gordon/Harvin to fill in (Harvin has a BYE in week 12). So do I need Shorts – yes, I’m walking around shorts-less – or Ivory?

                • Sky

                  Sky says:
                  (link)

Shorts. Ivory is a gameplan nightmare as I said. Shorts will be a great WR volume play ROS.

@Sky: Thanks for the conversation and advice. Now it’s time to go kill it the ROS! This team is built for a championship. If I woulda played Ridley and CJ over Gordon and Reed I would have 250 points without Forte!

  14. MORAL QUESTION - NEED FEEDBACK says:
    (link)

I’m playing a team that had Chris Johnson (35 fpts) and Andre Johnson (54 fpts). His next highest point total is his KICKER with 9! Bottom line is I am prob going to lose this week down by 23 with me having Forte and him having Boykin.

Here is my moral delimma: The guy I am playing is the commish and has been for many years now and is ALWAYS in the playoffs, gets weekly point highs and has won a few years too.

This week I decided to pay VERY close attention to his team and the guys he chose to play cause I had a suspicion from last season. I took screenshots of his team before, during and after the Sunday night game. I have clear visual evidence that he cheated and did a substitution of a player (Foster) DURING the game with a player from his bench (Tate) DURING the game when teams are supposed to be LOCKED. Looking at it, you can see he made the sub cause Foster got hurt during the game.

If you had clear visual screenshot evidence with a timestamp and all BUT……..the sub had literally no bearing on you losing cause your team stunk that bad that week, do you still expose the commish? Do I just send him a direct warning or blast him in front of the league?

Don’t know if it matters but this is a work league so we all see each other daily.
    Thanks.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Cheating is cheating. If he actually did it, he’s probably done it before and will do it again. Go ahead and alert the league and put him on blast

      • MORAL QUESTION - NEED FEEDBACK says:
        (link)

@Sky: I am 110% sure that he made a switch so its not a question of whether it happened but I think he might try to spin that it was an accident and “he didn’t know that he could even do that” and that I am just sour over the loss to him.

That would piss me off. Am I overreacting to quit the league after this year if he tries to deny that he was cheating?

        • Sky

          Sky says:
          (link)

I’ve commished plenty of leagues. You can’t do that unless you know what you’re doing…

Games are only fun when they’re played correctly. I wouldn’t stay in a league like that.

          • goodfold2 says:
            (link)

@Sky: any comissioner knew he was doing that when he did it; it’s surprising he didn’t think he’d get noticed.

    • Harris says:
      (link)

@MORAL QUESTION – NEED FEEDBACK: Not that you were talking to me, but this sounds very familiar to a baseball league I was in this season. The commish makes all decisions and also changed his lineup during a week. Chances are its not the same league, but once you know you are playing with a cheater it really ruins the whole thing. Sorry to hear it.

I picked up Foles as a bye week replacement for Matt Stafford and was planning on dropping him to pick up a TE in week 10 for Cameron. Now I don’t think I can do that. I don’t need him and I don’t know who else to drop with only 5 bench spots. I desperately need a good WR. How comfortable should I feel shopping Stafford and rolling with Foles the rest of the way?

After losing Cobb a few weeks ago my WR’s are Steve Smith, Kendall Wright, Jarrett Boykin and Rueben Randle. Blech.

It’s a scary proposition but if you get a stud WR in return, it could definitely be worth it. The toughest defense the Eagles face ROS is the Cardinals. I think he’s worth the gamble but you really need a top end WR to make it worth it.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Unless you’re getting a clear win back in return, I’m not selling TY for anything. Top 15 WR ROS with Top 10 upside. He’s getting Reggie Wayne targets and can catch long bombs. No reason to move away from that unless you are a clear winner in the trade.

What the heck do I do with Ray Rice? He’s making me so mad.

I just made a trade which brings Marshawn Lynch to my team. So now I have Lynch, Rice, Moreno and Mike James.

Really liked what I saw out of James yesterday. Thoughts on him ROS?

We start 2 RB, 2 WR and a flex in our PPR league. Here are my WR: Dez, TY, Keenan, Shorts and Kendall Wright.

I’d really like to try and trade for a top TE considering my TE is Rudolph.

    Thoughts?

    • Sky

      Sky says:

Not much you can do with Rice right now. You can’t sell him for what you bought him for and you’re not getting anything in return that’ll help you most likely. Just have to ride it out.

James is still a flex most weeks for me. Seems like a straight ahead runner but gameflow will dictate his use. TB needs to stay in the game for him to be involved. Don’t know if I’d count on that ROS.

Sure, you can shop for a TE…not sure how to respond to that. Are you asking which RB or WR to sell?

Tim Wright got really interesting this weekend and I think might be a top ten TE option going forward. Where would he rank ROS right now.

I’m seeing a similar Julius Thomas thing with him, 3-5 catches and 40-60 yards and the usual toss up for a TD. Crazy? Also what do you think of OJ going forward?

Are you going to do a positional ROS ranking article at some point?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

I’d put him as fringe top 12. I like him and own him in a couple of leagues but the overall offense limits his upside. VJax is the target there so his upside was witnessed this weekend while he was blanketed. Still think plenty of 2/25 games will happen down the stretch. But for TE, he’s interesting given the right league.

As I’m sure you can understand, I don’t have enough time given what I’m already covering to dedicate to that. I’d love to but then I’d have to stop writing about other things. OJ is situational to me. He’s a more talented Knowshon, if that makes sense. Any other team and he’s floating around near Tim but because of the Broncos offense, he’s a top 7 or 8 guy the rest of the way.

You really have a hard time loving Wilson as a Seahawks fan? I love him and I am a Niners fan! His demeneanor, his looks, his running ability, his accuracy at all 3 levels. What’s there not to love? Maybe I am biased because I called him a sleeper last year after covering him at Wisconsin and watching him shit on Flynn in the preseason. I almost feel like he is my child and I root for him (just him, not his team) every week.

Ha! I am saying I find the current ‘hawks attack frustrating. They’re not playing well even with the wins. He shouldn’t be passing this much that early in the game and his 3 TOs are getting glossed over because the defense has kept the team in the game. He has made plenty of mistakes that he shouldn’t be at this stage. And I’m speaking specifically from a real football stance, of course. For fantasy, his recent output has been great but I don’t think it’s good for the team he plays on.

Would you trade Gordon for Spiller in a .5PPR 2 player keeper league?

Other WR: Dez, Green, Garcon, M. Brown
Other RB: Forte, Gio, Stacy, Woodhead, Vereen, Mathews, S. Jax

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

If you’re making that move, you’re making it thinking about RB depth and for next year. His ankle still worries me ROS but I’d make that trade in a keeper.

  31. Prez says:
    (link)

I sent out trades for trent to see where his value was last night… Well, i guess its pretty low.. percy harvin and laurinitis for him… Did i just buy a headache for a bag of rocks? I think he can shine in that offense, why hes not, i have no idea. Cant really argue getting that talent for basically nothing, right? My LBs are solid and im decent at reciever…

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

It’s been a combo of issues with Trent. It’s partially him having field vision issues but the other part is his useage behind a crappy o-line for run-blocking purposes. I think the ship can right itself. I don’t mind that trade, it’s worth the shot.

      • Prez says:
        (link)

@Sky: percy hasnt even played and i have keuchly and lee as my LBs , so really i feel like im giving nothing for someone who could be huge.. i guess we’ll see what percy does before i kaep in the mirror..

    1. I have RGIII and Wilson. Should I take a flyer on Foles? If so, who’s dropped. I’m in a league where passing scores big. (6pt TD, 0.5 cmp, no penalty for INT)

    2. I have Cameron and Wright. Am I playing the matchups or starting the star? If so, who’s the star at this point?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

      1. Try moving Wilson. Tough call at this point. Still believe in RG3 ROS so it would be Wilson for me.

      2. Cameron. Wright has a nice floor but I don’t believe in him having big weeks like Cameron can.

  33. The Thumb says:
    (link)

A little early but I have 4 competent starters for 3 spots next week:

    McCoy at GB
    Bush vs CHI
    Stacy at Indy
    CJ?K vs Jac

    (Charles on BYE)

Also, I’m looking to move someone like Garçon or Bush for a QB, my current one is Wilson, what tier should I shoot for? Stafford?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

My initial reaction is to sit CJ but you’re probably gonna have a hard time going wrong there.

Trades depend on needs. Those are two high end guys at their respective positions. I’d target someone who has a good bench QB option but has a need. They should both net you higher end QB plays. Think top 5 for both I wouldn’t take anything lower (of course, Peyton is highly unlikely).

  34. David says:

Should I even bother buying low on Trent Richardson right now? His owner is offering him pretty cheap but don’t know if I should believe in him thats why I ask the expert lol

    • Sky

      Sky says:

Cheap RB depth is always good. Depends what ‘cheap’ means.

      • David says:
        (link)

@Sky: He asked for Gio Bernard and Denarius Moore from my team he’s giving Trent and Andre Brown (.5PPR). My other RB’s are Adrian Peterson, Lacy, Vereen. Other WR’s are Dez, Antonio Brown, Keenan Allen, Marvin Jones. Good move for me?

        • David says:
          (link)

@David: Gio’s basically my flex (could put Vereen/Andre Brown there in a week) and Denarius only starts for me on bye weeks

        • Sky

          Sky says:
          (link)

I wouldn’t call that cheap, personally. I’d give him Moore for Trent at this point, that’s about it. Maybe Marvin Jones. No two for two there, though. Not a good trade.

          • David says:
            (link)

@Sky: Thanks I meant cheap for my starting lineup I guess, this was his first offer so I’m sure I could get bargain with him and get a better trade if not whatever I hardly need Trent anyways

            • Sky

              Sky says:
              (link)

Trent’s best night was last night as a Colt and it wasn’t worth Gio in the slightest. Trent is RB depth at this point. He can’t shop him like he’s worth another starting RB right now.

              • David says:
                (link)

@Sky: Gotcha, thanks for the help.

                  (link)

No prob. I’m not against acquiring him for my bench but it’s gotta be dirt cheap at this point.

                  • David says:
                    (link)

@Sky: Yea I understand, I think I was blinded by his name value a little bit when I thought his offer was good.

I’ll just wait another week and wait for him to offer Trent for my kicker.

Ha, well you’re probably not getting that but I’ve seen him going as a part in a full package where he’s a toss-in. That’s what he really should be at this point.

if rodgers is out in one league I can drop either martin(stashing the shit outta RB’s here) or j.jones(return yards league, .5 per 10 yards, but he’s replaceable) for 1 of keenum/foles/eli/glennon. what is the order, since I won’t likely get foles. I had him before his terrible last start.
    2. different league. same rodgers problem. full 1 pt per 10 yards returning PPR league (start 2 WR) roster of WR/RB is
    allen/jeffery/sanders/j.jones(bal)
    sproles/moreno/miller/a.brown/vereen/jacquizz
i’m guessing i drop jacquizz here? for one of
    foles/keenum/pryor/big ben/tannehill/glennon/cambell?
rank top 3 or 4, because i likely ain’t getting foles.
funny thing is I actually had foles in both of these leagues back just until foles sucked dick and had that concussion game.

    • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
      (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: real problem is this in 2 leagues where the waivers are run properly so my teams (top three team, and 5-4 team with a lot of total pts) are in very bad shape to get foles. likely stuck with 2nd best guy in both. Could try to move Moreno in the better league for good QB if Rodgers is F’ed up.

      • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
        (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: wish foles wasn’t so damn terrible that other game or i’d still have him on both of these roster’s benches.

    Hey Sky,

Was offered stacy for my vernon davis… My rb’s are charles, t-rich, lamar and vereen. I do own Cam, but his bye is this coming week so i would have to pick up a Tim Wright or something for week 10 if i made this deal… What do you think, do i accept? I initially offered Cam for Stacy and then he came back with Vernon.

One more question… This guy also has alfred morris, do you like him or Stacy ROS?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Sky

I assume Cam = Jordan Cameron? If so, offer is fair; I’m a Stacy fan.

They’re close. I prefer known product if we’re talking RB and Alfred is that. It would be The Butler for me there.

which of rivers/big ben/brady should I be trading moreno for to get rodgers backup? one owner has big ben and brady, and the rivers owner has another good QB as well.
    2. does wright move ahead of bennett? i’m thinking not, but barely.

    • Sky

      Sky says:

Rivers because Brady is on bye next week and won’t help you as a Rodgers owner…

      2. They’re top 15 TEs. Neither is a weekly play and hard to predict. I’d put them in the same bucket.

  41. goodfold2 says:
    (link)

    1. in this league, we only start 2 RB, and I have charles/bush/j.bell/moreno/martin/vereen so i’m pretty good at RB.

  42. Mark says:
    (link)

    Foles or Cutler ROS?

Also, I know it’s way too early to start thinking and planning about keepers for next year, but which 2 of these 3 would you lean to keep at this point?

Lacy (will cost 2nd round pick), GOB (4th), Stacy (11th). Obviously a TON can change, but I’m loaded at RB (also have Ellington, TRich, and A Brown) and may look to trade one of my top 3 for a WR. My team is a longshot for the playoffs so keeper value is coming into play for me.

    Thanks for the advice.

  43. Matt P says:

I’ve got a possible trade offer of AJ Green for my Gio Bernard and Antonio Brown

My RBs are: Bush, Le’Veon Bell, Bernard, Ellington, MJD and Vereen
My WRs are: Dez Bryant, Brown, Amendola, Harvin, Michael Floyd

I get two keepers: I was planning on keeping Bush and Bernard but would prob just keep Bush and either Dez or Bell now. I can’t keep AJ due to keeper restraints.

Am I giving up too much for Green? I’m afraid Gio will beast it up next year

    • Sky

      Sky says:

You’re giving up too much in that deal. Needs to be a 2-2 if you’re making a deal at all.

  44. David says:
    (link)

Oh boy hope that Rodgers injury isn’t serious love watching him play and hope he’s ok.

I guess I’ll ask this in case of the worst, if Rodgers injury is bad, does Lacy become a sell high because of facing stacked boxes and being in a worse offense?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

They’ll manage the game fine and still keep him in a good enough spot that he won’t lose enough value to sell high. But his days of being a top 5 play weekly went up in smoke if Aaron is out for a bit.

      • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
        (link)

@Sky: good news is both when he left and came back in he was able to jog/not have an arm sling, so it almost can’t be a collar bone fracture, about the worst injury he could’ve had. probably minor dislocation, out 1-2 weeks. HOPEFULLY. In both leagues Both leagues I have him i’m extremely likely to make playoffs, but in one league i’m 7-3 and if he’s out too long (and if my schedule is hard for that period) could cost me a division (there’s money in winning that).

  45. Andy says:

Need some waiver advice: Who should I target first in a standard league with a flex play. A. Dobson, or C. Ivory?

Play 2 RB each week: I have
McCoy, Bush, Richardson, Spiller, Brown, and J. Bell
    Play 3 WR/TE each week: I have
Gronk, D. Thomas, Hilton, K. Allen, S. Johnson

Also who would you pickup for the Romo bye week?
    Foles or Locker?

    • Sky

      Sky says:

      Dobson is on bye…

Week 9 just ended and I haven’t looked at any matchups. Without that information, my info won’t be very useful to you. McCoy/Bush/DT/Hilton/Allen

      Foles
