Don't be shellfish...Tweet about this on TwitterShare on FacebookShare on Google+Share on Reddit

So it came to my attention that – for all the fantasy blabber we trade back and forth on this site – none of the writers were actually all in a league together.  Given that we all play this silly little game and then write weird things about it involving references to movies like Adventures In Babysitting, we planned and all made a draft this last Tuesday.  Though it was suggested the first post about this draft be a transcript of what we all talked about that night via draft IM, we all have mothers and wives who occasionally read our stuff so that idea was shot down, like, immediately.  What we hope to do over the course of the season is give the ‘big’ winner of the week a chance to post about it and gloat which is to say, I really hope I get to write 16 more articles about this league this year.  You may or may not hear some of the other writers chime in over the course of the season.  Of course, if I suck, I have no team name to hide behind.  I’m pretty recognizable on there.  With all that said, take a gander and root for your favorite Razzball writer.  And speaking of of Razzball Fantasy Football Leagues…

This is more of a reminder for those who are in Razzball Commenter Leagues this year.  You’re winning Razzball swag if you win the whole thing.  Not only will you get the sweetest jumper suit of all time care of SayWhat? Custom Shirts, you’ll also be getting a trophy care of Far Out Awards:

Just imagine how proud your family will be seeing you sitting around in that suit with that trophy.  It shows you have gumption and it will prove to your mom that charging rent on such a go-getter as yourself will only stifle your development.  Who cares if you’re 27 living in your parents basement, you were a Fantasy Football God for the 2012 season!  That’s what you’ll be thinking at 36 and still in said parent’s basement but that’s besides the point.  We hope all you RCL’ers have fun this season while we enjoy our writers league where we only play so as not to look silly.  Good luck everyone and enjoy the heck out of the first Sunday!

Whatt, it doesnt say “juicy” on the butt? Im deleting the league!! Haha jk

I need a 4th wideout for this week and im kinda lost.. not many options out there cuz its a deeper league. Who do you start this week?

Jon baldwin, doug baldwin, david nelson, preston parker, chaz shilens, josh cribbs, micael flloyd?

I know, not much to work with.. im okay with a high risk/high reward in the #4 wideout spot, but its pretty dry out there… its a PR/KR yardage league as well so factor that in there too. Thanks buddy!

Cribbs probably the safest pick to go with there but if you’re into gambling, I’d prefer a Baldwin. Mine would be Jon but I like him this year so I’m biased.

@Sky, cool, i own Jon right now, ill pick up cribbs and decide between the two on gameday. Thanks again! Last year in week three i was in this SAME sitch… Went with upside in a guy named victor cruz who was makin his debut for the injury bugged manningham.. fantasy football gambling can be huge at times!

Or a bust…I had Randle in a return league. All reports kept saying he’d get to return a few…well we know how that went. Didn’t even get a whiff of the field. Oh well, deep, deep league that one is so I have plenty of other areas to shine for the week but…yeah, goose eggs hurt.

@Sky, a tale of two tapes, my friend! I agree, goose eggs are no fun. But with a WR4 (in my case) how much can you really expect out of it? Thats why i perfer to go bang or bust there if i dont have any solid options. Its usually a slot that doesnt produce a lot of points anyway so why not risk it? Just my opinion. But i feel ur pain! Good luck this sunday!

For sure, it’s why I played him. My league has 3WR/2RB and then 2WR/TE, 2 WR/RB, 1QB/WR/RB/TE and it’s a 12 teamer. He was basically my WR5 this week. Only started him this week because I had Britt on the bench. I’ll be fine week 2 and thanks you too! :)

    Sky, check my roster. 12tm 1ppr for TE’s and .5ppr for rb/wr

    qb: cam, wilson
RB: DMC, JAmaal, bradshaw, beanie, peade
WR: Nelson, Colston, Austin, Britt, Alshon, Kendall wright
    TE: Jared Cook
    K: who cares
    DST: who cares

here’s the dilemma, and i’m sure you remember all my TE questions from before. I never pulled off a deal, and am stuck starting Jared Cook as my TE. As you know, i get 1ppr for TE (rest of players get .5ppr).

Martellus Bennett, Dustin Keller, Mercedes and Dallas Clark are available.

Do i drop Pead for one of those Tight Ends? Or stand put since the rest of my lineup is pretty stacked.

    Caveat:
(we can keep 2 keepers next year that were drafted after the 8th round… Pead is one of those possible keepers (along with alshon, wright, wilson and cook)

    thoughts all might one?

Well Martellus has already played this week and had a decent line but I’m not hip on him. I think you stand pat for now and see what you get. Jared Cook was good last year, could be better this year.

Overall, I like your team. If your RBs stay healthy, that’s a strong core of 4 with a chance at getting something good out of your 5th. I don’t know if I’d pair Cam with Wilson but that’s a personal thing as I don’t see Cam as a sure thing this year but I might be alone in that. Quibbles: would’ve preferred more RB than WR but you are playing keepers so I don’t mind the two guys you got. I really like your K and DEF :) Team should compete this year.

Is that what everybody else in this league is doing, hiding behind their fancy team names? I notice all the managers are hidden, so it may be tough to root for your favourite Razzball Writer. I think there’s a few I can figure out, but that’s about it.

I’ve gotta root for Nick (assuming he’s in there and the team I think he is) since that way I wont feel so bad about beating him in the Razzball Podcast League…

Yeah, when people start winning, they’ll get their gloat article. At least that’s the plan. Would like everyone to get a shot to post something about their team over the course of the season. That’s the goal at least.

I might ask the guys to change their team names to their writer/Podcast names. Might help. Thanks!

I’ll send Nick both the condolences and the hope his way.
