Westworld in a nutshell…

Or something like that. With Fantasy Football playoffs just starting, the Unbreakable MB and Jen go over the recent and infuriating/sad Gronk news, Jameis Winston and Colin Kaepernick, and a little bit on the Packers running back situation. The verdict: Mike McCarthy is an idiot. We also go over tight end drafting (there’s an easy joke here somewhere) and provide a small glimpse of the Razzball Writer’s League, which has been largely forgotten (or ignored) by yours truly. Probably because Zach is in first place. Then we tackle Westworld’s season thus far (at 31:35) and go into stuff that involve spoilers, which the unwanted revelation of will never happen here wihtout warning, folks. Except when those whales with lasers came out a couple weeks back. What a twist! However, I am willing to allow non-spoiler GIFs like the one above, which is a national treasure. And also probably my own inner-monologue when editing Tehol’s posts…

Here’s the newest episode of the newly renamed Razzcast!

  1. Mike says:

I gotta stream a QB this week. My options are Palmer, Tyrod or Kapernick. I tend to lean Palmer this week against WAS. Thoughts?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mike: I’m actually going with Kap this week, as scary as that sounds. Not a huge Palmer guy this season.

Hey jay! I’m going to need a lot of good luck & some good vibes on my side for this week
    Witten got me zero

Here’s my roster vs my opponent

    My team:

    QB matt Ryan

    RB1 DJ
    RB2: Melvin Gordon

    WR1: Hopkins
    WR2: Baldwin
WR3: Dez went Thursday & had 16 pts

TE: Witten went Thursday had a big fat zero

Flex: moncrief (unless I bench Hopkins put Moncrief & Hopkins to bench then Powell to flex?)

D/St: haven’t added one yet but leaning either Jets D, Colts D, Chargers D, Miami D or Bucs D

    Kicker Crosby

    —————

    Now here’s my opponent

    QB: Big Ben

    RB1: Freeman
    RB2: forte

    WR1: Sanu
    WR2: garçon
    WR3: Tyreek hill

TE: Gronk is out but the opponent has graham on the bench I’m planning on graham here

Flex: diggs went Thursday & had 9 pts

    D/st: broncos

    Kicker gano

    Have a great one!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@tin tin: Good vibes sent, as usual! I think you go Hopkins and Chargers there.

      • tin tin says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

How much does the Witten goose egg kill my week 13? I’m hoping other players can pick up the slack !

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@tin tin: A zero from a TE is okay. Graham may not do much either, to be honest. It’s a fickle position, so I’d still be confidant going in.

  3. BrownL says:
    (link)

After Dak crapping the bed last night, I’m looking to inject more upside into my lineup. Would it be crazy to play Boyd over Allen Robinson or Garcon? Rankings say stick with the vets, but I really think Boyd has a better chance to have a big day.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@BrownL: Over Garcon no, over ARob, it’s negotiable. I think you put Boyd over Garcon as your upside play.

  4. goodfold2 says:
    (link)

ah that guy is in westworld, having played such notable roles (to me) as
    – the insane coke dealer (epitome OF a coke dealer) from rules of attraction
    – the dude from extract who loses a ball and gets hustled out of his truck by a probably peak of her attractiveness mila kunis
    – the snitch who was tortured from traffic

and then i go to imdb’s westworld page and see the aweome thandie newton is a main character in this show, from such great crime movies as rocknrolla/shade

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@goodfold2: Yeah, he’s been a lot of stuff. Does a great job in this show though, for sure. You should really start watching. It’s totally binge-able.

  5. GEASY says:
    (link)

    JAY DOG:

Vance/VERNON DAVIS or Lance Kendricks? PPR

    Also,

    PIck 2 standard:

    Taylor Gabriel
    Tyler Boyd
    Golden
    Malcom Mitchell
    Kenny Britt

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@GEASY: What up! Davis and going… Boyd and Tate right now. Britt could sneak in with Boyd, but I kinda like the risk/reward play with Boyd there.

  6. ryanoger says:
    (link)

Looking ahead to week 15 which DEF would you rather have:

    KC home against TEN
    or
    Buffalo home against CLE

    thanks jay!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@ryanoger: Bills. But you’re right, it’s close. No probs!

  7. mcBluntsky says:
    (link)

2 part question tied to each other, ppr league

with Jordan Reed out would you roll with Cameron Brate or Vernon Davis

need a flex spot next after that options include
    Brate or Vernon Davis
    Terrence West
    Tevin Colemen
    Jeremy Maclin

    thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@mcBluntsky: Davis there. For the Flex, leaning Coleman, but West is close. I’ll update my rankings sometime tomorrow though.

  8. Not Your Average Joe says:
    (link)

    Hi Jay-not-Ralph!

So Gronk not going on the IR right away has put me in a bind. I’m in a 10-team league where we keep two, any two, any length of time. Naturally, because there’s no cost difference between keeping a 1st rounder versus a 10th rounder, it only makes sense to keep elite players. My obvious keeper is Julio. Is Gronk my second? Or would you drop him for roster depth?

Quick follow-up: Mariota looks fantastic but has good ROS matchups. Should I still hold on to him as a backup (and to avoid an opponent using him)?

    QB: Brady, Mariota
    RB: Ingram, Howard, Kelley, Coleman
    WR: Julio, Adams, Moncrief, Landry
    TE: Graham, Gronk
    DST: MIA, SD
    K: Prater

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Not Your Average Joe: Haha, good one. I would say Gronk is your second keeper yeah, which I know makes your depth suffer, but gotta always keep a glance at the big picture. And sure, unless there’s an obvious upgrade, keeping two QBs with good matchups for playoffs is a great idea.

  9. Los Putos says:
    (link)

    Pick 2 please

Baldwin CAR, Inman TB or Ware @ATL

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Los Putos: I’d say Baldwin and Inman.

      • Los Putos says:
        (link)

@Jay: Ware has been ‘meh’ of late. thanks

        • Mantis Toboggan MD says:
          (link)

@Los Putos: he’s been getting the old walrus j.charles treatment, only getting carries in the range of 12-17. charles last 2.5 years (i’m saying when healthy, not using this year as part of that timeframe) VERY often only gave charles carries in that range, EVEN in winnable/competitive games, so they weren’t a script issue i’m speaking of here.

          • Mantis Toboggan MD says:
            (link)

@Mantis Toboggan MD: all of that to say we should have seen it coming due to walrus.

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Mantis Toboggan MD: We should be thankful Ware isn’t a timeout, or he’d be dead right now.

  10. Ball4 says:
    (link)

Booker vs. Jax or Gore vs. NYJ as my RB2 in standard league?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

I think you go Booker there.

  11. Eg says:
    (link)

Pls rank top four bench/stash RB options for playoff run:: Alfred Morris, Christine Michael, Ameer Abdullah, Wendell Smallwood, Ty Montgomery, Charles Sims… Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Eg: I would say Morris if your a Zeke owner, otherwise, I think Smallwood and Ty would be my targets.

  12. Wide Right says:
    (link)

PPR league plus 6 pts for TD.
I need a win to clinch a playoff spot.
    Here’s my offense:
QB- Cousins (keep Luck on bench, right?)
RBs (Need to start 2) Forte and Booker (also have Martin; I’m not going to to turn to Coleman)
WRs (Need to start 2) Beckham and ?? A.Robinson? J. Matthews and his sore ankle? or Gabriel? I have WFuller but I don’t trust him.
    TE: Fiedorowicz
Flex: Best of the RB/WR options above. Gabriel?
    What’s my best lineup, thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Wide Right: Yeah, Cousins been on fire. I think you go Forte and Booker, Beckahm and… yeah, I think Arob, and probably Gabriel, yeah. I think you have it. Double check my updated rankings later tonight though. I’m going back and forth on Martin right now.

      • Wide Right says:
        (link)

@Jay: I hope Booker isn’t hurt by Lynch starting, but he may end up with more catches. Just need Forte to get a touchdown or two. He hasn’t been very active in the Jets passing game.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Wide Right: I don’t think he will be. And yeah, Forte, for the most part, has had a pretty solid year.

  13. Moscowitz says:
    (link)

    Rawls or Blount tomorrow?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Moscowitz: Leaning Blount. We may get trolled, but even if we do, I think he gets enough goalline looks to make it worth it.

  14. Ball4 says:
    (link)

Trying to sneak into playoffs and still have Allen Robinson in my lineup. Would you favor any of the following over him this week? Marvin Jones (Questionable), Marquess Wilson, or Malcolm Mitchell. Or stick with the vet?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Ball4: Yeah, I’m going with Arob there I think.

  15. Frank White says:
    (link)

Hey Buddy hope you had a happy holidays..! This week I picked up Gabriel. I’m in 1st in my 12 team ppr 3WR.. I’m using a WR in my flex so i have
    A Robinson
    Michael Thomas
    Crowder
    E Sanders
    Moncrief
    Gabriel
Which 2 would you bench? Its still close and this stupid league has finals on week 17. I just picked Gabriel up on my #2 waiver, which was probly stupid but i wanted insurance plus i’ve been holding onto it for a while. Thanks Man

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Frank White: Thanks, you too man! I think maybe Moncrief and Gabriel… but I’m iffy on Sanders. I think maybe Moncrief over Sanders actually.

  16. Frank White says:
    (link)

what, bench sanders and gabriel you mean?

    • Frank White says:
      (link)

the thing that worries me also is that KC gave the most points to WR’s this year which is good for gabriel but it’s so hard to bench anyone over him. This is such a tough year managing a team cause every move you make the bench blows up and god forbid you switch back the next week..! LOL

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Frank White: Yeah, I hear ya. It’s been frustrating at times.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Frank White: Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking right now as I’m doing ranking updates.
