belichick-confused

Well, after that barn burner on Thursday Night Football, I’m not sure the NFL can live up to my expectations. I mean, it’s not every week when you get to watch a team journey about 2,000 leagues under rock bottom, but the Browns appear to be the hero we need, not the one we deserve. And if your levels of misanthrope and despondence are running low, the Bears against the Bucs, Rams versus the Jets, and Texans at the Jags have got you covered. There are some interesting games today though, if you’re into that sort of thing (really?) with the Cowboys visiting Pittsburgh and a Super Bowl rematch between the Seahawks and Patriots. There probably won’t be any mistaken calls at the goal line involving Marshawn Lynch, but never underestimate Seattle’s offense to not ef things up. They’ve become quite good at it, and I’m quite sure that Bill Belichick has noticed, while also trolling all the Dion Lewis fantasy owners out there. Just chewing gum and walking at the same time I suppose. Though, this is coming from a guy who endorsed a Cheetos Puff for president, so I’ll consider anything he says as “dubious” for now.

Be sure to check out our Start and Sits for today’s games here, along with Rudy’s updated projections for Week 10 by clicking here. And as always, our updated rankings are available after the jump!

Select the “Flex” tab if you need a more complete picture to decide your starts and sits. Use the “OP” tab for 2QB Leagues. And you can access our Half PPR and PPR rankings using the drop down box in the top left of our rankings when you select the RB, WR, TE, or Flex positions. Any and all questions will be answered below…

    Hi there,
    First!!!
I am not sure who to start: need to start three of the following: Murray, Freeman, Ware, Booker or Michael. It seems like an embarrassment of riches, but can’t screw this up, right?

    Thanks for your response!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Joe Shmoe: Second!!! Wait, that’s not how it works I think. I’d do Murray, Freeman, and Ware. And yeah, first world problems.

  2. MiggY CaT says:
    (link)

    Two choices this week:

Brady or Ryan…..looking for highest floor here

After a slightly disappointing albeit not completely unexpected weak performance from Pryor looking for upside from WRs: .5 PPR pick 2

    Diggs vs Wash
    Ty Mont vs Tenn
Landry vs Sd…if he somehow is not active and I start him at 1, I’d take a zero as I have other 4pm WRs. Our WW locks at 1pm

    • MiggY CaT says:
      (link)

      @MiggY CaT:

      ** no others Wrs

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@MiggY CaT: Highest floor would be Brady I think. For your WR, I’d do Diggsa nd Monty.

  3. porzingod says:
    (link)

seems like doug martin and carlos hyde will play, but both will be limited i guess. does this change rankings? i need to start 3 among rob kelley, dujuan harris, peyton barber, paul perkins, bilal powell and will tye. thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@porzingod: Those are kinda baked into the rankings, as I ordered them on that based on last nights news. I am doing some minor updates as I’m answering questions though. Out of those three, probably Kelley, Powell and Perkins.

  4. Andrewm says:
    (link)

    12 team standard
Would you start Kelley or Hightower at flex?
I do have Ingram and started Ingram and Howard as my RBs.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Andrewm: Probably Hightower just to soak up whatever Ingram doesn’t get.

      • Andrewm says:
        (link)

@Jay:thanks jay. Do you see any upside in Kelley? What kinda day does he have?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Andrewm: Sorta. Jones doesn’t have it straight out, so that’s something to pay attention to. I’d say an average day is the ceiling though.

  5. MindlessOne says:
    (link)

Need a flex…Hyde, Dujuan Harris, C. Mike, D. Inman, or S. Coates. PPR. Any opinions welcome.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@MindlessOne: Probably Hyde, but since it’s PPR, Inman would be my safer choice.

  6. Mike says:
    (link)

    Cutler or dalton?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Mike: Thinking Cutler there.

  7. sgamby says:
    (link)

PPR league, need an RB2. Should I take a risk on Doug Martin or start Peyton Barber or Prosise? Thx

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @sgamby: Probably Barber.

  8. Charles says:
    (link)

I’m already looking for a W11 defense (DEN bye). Can you rank these?

    PIT @CLE
    DET vJAX
    OAK vHOU
    GB @WAS

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Charles: I’d probably rank them as Pit, Oak, Det, and then GB.

  9. Dave says:
    (link)

Hey please pick one for my flex in a full PPR out of CJ Prosise, Hightower, any Chiefs receiver, Kendall Wright, Sammy Coates, Zach Ertz.

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dave: I’ll say Hightower this week. What a weird situation that’s become.

  10. Ryan says:
    (link)

    Morning!

It’s almost weird not having multiple people out on bye. Having a hard time deciding what to do with my last couple spots

I need to start an RB and a flex out of these (ppr)

    J-Stew
    Hyde
    Landry
    D. Booker
    J.J. Nelson
    R. Kelley

    Thanks a bunch!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Ryan: Yeah, bye weeks are finally coming to an end. I’d go J-Stew and Landry there.

  11. Zandy says:
    (link)

Everyone is very bunched today, I know what the rankings say. But how would you mix/combo floor and ceiling guys in a lineup today in STD? Pick my flex
Starters: Eli Ware Gurley Alshon Sanders Graham

    Flex: Hopkins Cobb or Ingram?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: Yeah, I see what you mean. I’d probably go Ware and Booker for pure upside, but maybe go Ware, Alshon for a proper mix. Tough decision here.

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

        @Jay: sorry jay I think I wasn’t clear.

Pick 2 rb, 2 WR and a flex

        Ware Gurley Ingram Hightower
        Alshon Sanders Hopkins Cobb

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Zandy: Gotcha, I’d go Ware, Ingram and then Alshon, Hopkins and Gurley.

          • Zandy says:
            (link)

            @Jay: oh wow, bench sanders?

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Zandy: That’s the ceiling pick. I think Hopkins could have a good game against Jax, while if Denver does well against the Saints, it’ll be more spread out.

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Zandy: This is more of an art than a science though, haha.

              • Zandy says:
                (link)

@Jay: totally that’s why I’m interested in the thought process of the artist (you)

                • Zandy says:
                  (link)

@Zandy: I was more concerned about Ingram having splitting risks and a Denver def bounce back game… So he was my odd man out

                  • Jay

                    Jay says:
                    (link)

                    @Zandy: Gotcha, good luck man!

                    • Zandy says:
                      (link)

                      @Jay: thanks you too!

  12. Steve says:
    (link)

tough week in my .5 ppr league..just looking for some input

I need a 3rd WR and a flex from these players: Rob Kelley, Rishard Mathews, Jerrick McKinnon, Dontrelle Inman, Quincy Enunwa, and Zach Ertz

I know, doesnt look good! Help me out. Thank you!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

I’d do Enunwa, Inman, and, hmmm, Kelley. You’re right, pretty tough decisions.

  13. sgamby says:
    (link)

PPR #2 WR Alshon or Montgomery? Starks seems like he’s only getting a handful.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      I think Alshon. Close though.

  14. I have a pile of RB’s on the outs; Ryan Mathews, Matt Jones, Christine Michael & now possibly Devontae Booker. Kapri Bibbs is available. Should I be cutting one of these RB’s loose to handcuff Booker w/Bibbs? Thanx for all the great write-ups & advice Jay!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

I think so if you can, depends on the drop.

      • @Jay: Ryan Mathews, Matt Jones or Christine Michael.

      • @Jay: I was leaning toward dropping Ryan Mathews or Matt Jones. I still think Jones gets another shot at it, but both are in the doghouse right now. Christian Michael is losing touches too and Rawls returns soon also. I would keep Booker and hope he or Bibbs steps up.

  15. Cole says:
    (link)

Okay so not sure who to start:
    QB: prescott or rivers?
WR: pick the top 3, Hopkins, Crowder, Coates, or R Shephard

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

I’d go Rivers and your first three WRs there.

  16. Blake says:
    (link)

why rob kelley so low? you think G bernard is a better play than kelley in a PPR league? Matt jones is a healthy scratch

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

In PPR, yeah, I think I’d rather go gio.

  17. The imp says:
    (link)

Does Royal being active lower Meredith’s PPR ranking to make Kendall Wright and Enuwa better plays? Crossing fingers my bye week WR5 won’t make or break the week.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      Yeah, I think so.

  18. Bing says:
    (link)

I have to pick three from these four: Jordan Howard, Gordan, Lamar Miller and Devontae Booker. #firstplaceproblems

    • Bing says:
      (link)

@Bing: It’s a half point PPR league BTW

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

I’d do Gordon, Miller, and Booker.

  19. JoeBoo says:
    (link)

    PPR-

Starting DT and Diggs at WR, torn between ARob and Cooks for flex

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      Leaning Cooks there.

      • JoeBoo says:
        (link)

        @Jay: Thanks, Holmes

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @JoeBoo: No probs!

  20. Whotistart says:
    (link)

Out of Matt forte, rob Kelley, jj nelson, dez bryant who would ou start at your flex?

    Thabks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      Dez probably.

  21. Zandy says:
    (link)

So I just looked and saw in going against Brees and Cooks… Does that change your Ingram vs Sanders view?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      I’m not sure I understand.

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

@Jay: if it’s a shootout game flow favors passing games on both sides. If Denver def is bad, Brees and cooks go off and Denver has to throw more – a plus for sanders.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Zandy: yeah, Denver’s pass defense is probably their biggest strength I’d say though.

          • @Jay: Should I leave Cooks on the bench and go with Tyrell Williams or Davante Adams then?

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@madden_curser: I still like Cooks, I think he’ll get his for the most part, but Adams would probably be my second choice.

  22. JJ what says:
    (link)

Ppr. Starting Johnson and ware, should I put Hyde (if he plays) or Harris (if he doesn’t) in the flex, or should I start crowder there with djax out

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

Probably Crowder is the safe bet.

  23. ryanoger says:
    (link)

    ..5 ppr league

Start Ivory over Bibbs this week based on rankings? Thinking of playing Bibbs…

    thanks jay!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@ryanoger: Bibbs is close enough to where it’s okay.

  24. Jim says:
    (link)

Would you go with Fiedorowicz over Gates in a PPR League this week?

    Also, J.J. Nelson over Britt?

    Texans D over Jets D?

So many questions, so little time. Thanks!

    • I got $100 for groceries, $1400 for liquor, and $6,000 for you to go bail a couple of shit puppets out of jail says:
      (link)

      @Jim: not nelson over brit

  25. Steve Stevenson says:
    (link)

With Fuller inactive coming out of the bye, are you OK dropping him in half-PPR? I need a K this week, and my only other drop options are Bibbs (I also have Booker and want to see what happens this week) or the SEA or NYJ DST (was hoping to hold SEA but didn’t want to start them @NE this week).

I could also wait to see what happens in the 1pm games in terms of my matchup (i.e. whether I can go without a K altogether) and the DEN backfield, and just grab a K from the late games if necessary.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Steve Stevenson: Yeah, I’m okay dropping him. Especially in this case.

  26. Moscowitz says:
    (link)

    Drop Matt jones for Rawls?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Moscowitz: yeah, same thing to me. I think Rawls has a better shot at this point for doing something.

  27. Mike in Busan says:
    (link)

    Yeldon, C Michael, Deion Lewis?
    Yes, my RBs suck.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mike in Busan: Dion Lewis. Haha, yeah, tough one there.

      • Mike in Busan says:
        (link)

        @Jay:
        No kidding, right?
Luckily I have AJ, Fitz, Alshon, and Gronk.

          • Mike in Busan says:
            (link)

@Jay: Oops! At least Christine is in the same game and I was able to swap them out.

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Mike in Busan: That’s good, I was just reading that about Dion Lewis. Belichick is such a fantasy troll.

  28. Pete says:
    (link)

    RB help please:
    1) pick 1 in PPR: Barber, McKinnon, Harris, or Jennings?
    2) pick 2 in PPR: Bibbs, Barber, Powell, Ryan Mathews? I think I need upside in order not to get crushed this week. Not that these guys are the ones to do it…

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Pete: I’d go Jennings and Powell.

      • Pete says:
        (link)

@Jay: THanks. I need a 2nd RB in #2. which would you go. Bibbs?

        • Pete says:
          (link)

          @Pete: bibbs, barber, or mathews?

          • Jay

            Jay says:
            (link)

            @Pete: I’d go Bibbs, yeah.

            • William Hung says:
              (link)

@Jay: Looks like Mathews owners were “coachspeaked” out of starting him, and he’s getting the early carries. Wonder what happened to Sproles?

              • Jay

                Jay says:
                (link)

@William Hung: happens often. Coaches have zero incentive to give accurate statements.

                • The Harrow says:
                  (link)

@Jay: i’ve been saying it for years, fantasy community needs to union up and get it so that the actual NFL actually respects us as anything other than ad slaves. if it cost them money when they lie about stuff like that they wouldn’t do it. not just for football, all sports.

                  • The Harrow says:
                    (link)

@The Harrow: not just fantasy, but all sports gambling, it’s in both of our interests.

                      Jay says:
                      (link)

@The Harrow: True. But they have other issues. Like deflated balls. And witch hunts.

                    • The Harrow says:
                      (link)

@The Harrow: obviously, NFL is actually the WORST one to expect anything like this, the NFLPA so weak they allow the GODdell kind of dictatorial shit (and it’s right there in their agreed upon contracts too)

  29. William Hung says:
    (link)

Damn, I really could’ve used Britt’s floor today as opposed to hoping for the best with Hightower or even Jarvis Landry. Oh another interesting thing about my league – there’s a guy who wakes up at 3am/4am to pick up guys before/after waivers are processed so he hardly ever uses it. 2 weeks ago he picked up Britt after I dropped him, and I guess after all the waivers were processed, he was still a free agent. Really wished I dropped Parker instead.

    • William Hung says:

@William Hung: Really wished I streamed instead of thinking Minny D would come back and play angry too.

        @Jay:

        lol it’s all good

Now looking ahead for week 11 & beyond are you hanging onto Hopkins or trade him away? He’s had a favorable schedule but nope it’s not translating. This will be a big test week 11 Hopkins faces raiders.

Next for waiver wire week 11. My main pick up for week 11 will be QB with matt Ryan having a bye.

        Here are available QBs

Dak Prescott (week 11 vs Ravens)

        Flacco (@ Dallas)

Sam Bradford (week 11 vs cardinals)

        Kaepernick (week 11 va pats)

        Cutler (week 11 at Giants)

Tannehill (week 11 at LA Rams)

Lastly Tyrod Taylor (week 11 at cincy)

@Bobby: Depends what you can get, but I’m open to it, sure. And I think I’d probably run the Dak attack here, but I’m thinking long and hard about Cutler.

            @Jay:

I was thinking of swapping by Hopkins for Allen Robinson.

            Besides Hopkins I’m even thinking these names, brain storming here;

Alshon Jeffery (remaining games: at Giants, vs Titans, vs 49ers, at lions, vs packers , vs redskin

Golden Tate /Marvin jones (remaining games : vs jags, vs Vikings, at New Orleans, vs Bears, at Giants, at Dallas

Allen Robinson remaining games (at Detroit, at Buffalo, vs Broncos, vs Vikings, at Houston, vs Tennessee

Diggs (remaining sched vs cards, at Detroit, vs cowboys, at jax, vs colts, at GB

FYI here are my WRs and we start 3, we also have a flex as well; Hopkins, sanders, moncrief, Dez Bryant, Doug Baldwin, Sammy Watkins, Sterling Shepard

Would it be a stretch to try to get jimmy graham by dealing away Hopkins? Graham owner is stacked at TE with Gronk & graham

            Thanks in advance !

              (link)

@Bobby: I’m okay with that, or Jeffery. Maybe Tate, but I’d probably aim for Arob, then Alshon at this point.

                @Jay:

Imagine if Houston just kept Brian hoyer instead of signing brock to that big contract

Or another scenario Ryan Fitzpatrick was a free agent it seemed for awhile I feel Fitzpatrick would’ve been fine with Hopkins

If this week week 2 or 3 I’d say oh Hopkins just had a bad game & he’ll be fine. We are now into week 10/ heading into week 11 & his stats for 2016 aren’t good at all
This point of the season I don’t want underwhelming players

@Bobby: it’s been said before but hopkins had awesome stats for 3 years before this year all with under 20th best QB’s. brock lobster is literally that bad. if we can just a 20th overall or just worse-type QB to HOU he’ll be right on back there.

Gotta love getting no TDs from anybody on your squad….

    • William Hung says:
      (link)

@Zandy: I’ve had that a few weeks where I still scored over 100 points, so I said to myself “my team must be pretty good since we still scored well without help of TDs”… didn’t realize it was a sign of things to come ROS

      • What's a Drexl? says:
        (link)

@William Hung: it is a good sign if team gets points without TD’s. now if everybody stops getting those yards and catches though, that’s the opposite.

man i’m glad i’m in enough dynasties to have zeke in at least one (standard i took over in preseason and had both of RW3/camtown and traded camtown for him), as i simply wasn’t going to draft him that high in redrafts. snapping necks and cashing checks in that one.

      • Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey says:
        (link)

@Jay: is there suddenly proof of anything (i’ve not read that and i read everything) or is GODell just pulling another ball gate where they gestapo somebody with no proof of anything yet again, AGAIN right after they get caught covering up somebody else (NYG kicker). do they just throw darts and these are the results of these things or are they just inverse-logic based system:
        1. cover it up as much as possible and pretend it doesn’t exist when there’s actual proof ofsomething (NE taping practices years ago, NE audio recording practices/coaches, ray rice beating up wife tape, NYG kicker admitting to cops he beats his wife every so often greg hardy’s whole life/etc)
        2. gestapo people up with no proof of anything (NO defense bounty thing, brady having anything to do with the actual at the time LEGAL-anyway ball deflating, zeke maybe)

really the ONLY thing i can find wherein they actually penalize anybody with proof of anything is weed. and they really like doing that, even though weed is getting very legal, and obviously has nothing to do with performance enhancing anyway.

@Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey: I mean, the way I’m reading it is that there’s just a bunch of smoke and no fire. Pretty familiar for anyone who just watched two years of a shitty election season.

          • Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey says:
            (link)

@Jay: yeah, that’s what i had seen, at least no worse news with this.

              • Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey says:
                (link)

@Jay: yeah, and the brady thing was even worse, as the NFL allowed QB’s to manipulate the balls before legally. nobody ever said it was legal (well not openly, in the last couple of years, on tape, that they thought would ever be aired, while also having one and understanding the importance of having a PR team/agent and what that means, unless they were very very rich of course) to smack yr bitch up.

would be funny rather than hoping it goes away and people just forget if guys like chapman/jose reyes actually did have their walk up music be something just like that, i don’t quite know what level of ironic trolling it would be, but it’d be pretty funny.

now i just gotta hope i lose by at least 19.3 in my biggest money league or i might be able to continually lament using doyle over witten last week and this week cutler (19.3 points less than flacco) over flacco. but man flacco has been useless in SOOOO many good matchups all year (he seriously must have a top 3 QB schedule for QB’s) and cutler was pretty good vs MIN last start. i could’ve also went cross eyes bradford but i never ever considered that one. will be 4-6 (at least 8 make playoffs so not dead) and am on the lighter side a 56 point yahoo projected dog so i probably won’t matter (well, top points team does get money so giving up 19-22 each week isn’t good either that way)

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Sinkhole Demayo: Yeah, I hear you on Flacco, on paper, he should be dominating some of these matchups…

      • Sinkhole Demayo says:
        (link)

@Jay: i’m on pace for worst week of the year this week, so if i miss playoffs by one game it’ll be the doyle vs witten loss of about 22 and only lost by 12 last week that determines it. but of course witten hadn’t done shit since like week 1 before last week either, dez back, it was legitimate decision, but it’s those close ones you rue the day. nobody should ever bite themselves in the ass when r.mathews outplays ajayi (which might just happen today)

  37. William Hung says:

Sorry Jay, the Chargers are sucking because I picked Lambo as my kicker this week – you know, cause the Dolphins don’t really play any defense (until today), and because while Jen has the Black Widow curse for injuries, I have been a blackhole of bad luck for everyone on my team all season. Lambo is headed towards his lowest points total in god knows how long due to the Chargers offense sucking hard…

smart one DAL coaches, need 2 points to win and just keep PIT off the field, instead play like some 8 year old in tecmo super bowl (screw clock i want to rub it in)

      • Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey says:
        (link)

@Jay: on a one to one basis that PIT facemask was probably stupider, BUT you could at least argue it was done in heat of moment by player who’s job isn’t strategy so much (like a coaches would be)

          • Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey says:
            (link)

@Jay: other really really weird coaching stuff going on in that game, brown being zoned only in 2nd half most of the time at least, and PIT somehow forgetting about zeke’s existence on DAL’s last offensive play of the game.
