Don't be shellfish...Tweet about this on TwitterShare on FacebookShare on Google+Share on Reddit

I can’t fight it anymore.  I know everyone tells you never to let others influence how you think and feel but it’s so hard to this week.  I mean, I recommended the Oakland Raiders last week on defense.  How stupid could I be?  I’ve got to right the ship.  I gotta become one with the other rankers and just give in, right?  There’s no hope trying to play outside the box, all outside box playing is futile.  I should just jump off the fantasy rankings bridge with everyone else…nah, I’m just joking.  But I had you going for a minute, right?  I’m one of the best written actors of my generation, or so I’ve been told.  You should see me type Hamlet!  I’ve been compared to Kenneth Branagh in that regards.  In fact, I’m hoping for my first Golden Globe nomination this year once they create a category for me.  I’ve already picked out my suit.  I wonder if people will be able to tell I borrowed it from my dad…eh, let’s not talk about my eventual rise to fame.  It bores me.  Better yet, let’s talk about Pierre Thomas and his great matchup against the Rams.  To be honest, I’m a bit surprised I’m one of the few this high on him.  Do these other ‘perts not know the Rams are ranked near the bottom in terms of fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs?  That was rhetorical.  Of course they know but they’re probably too busy paying attentio to how unproductive he’s been of late.  It happens but to be fair, when PT has been given a good matchup he has produced.  Sure, he’s not likely to put up 200+ yards any time soon but about 120 total yards and a TD are well within reach for the PT Bruiser this week and I like his chances he grabs those reigns and rides into fantasy glory.  In other areas to trumpet on, we’ve got quite a few rankings wrinkles this week.  Steven Jackson?  Sometimes the matchups make the man and given he’s performed well of late, it’s hard to deny him a top 10 RB finish.  Same goes for Ryan Mathews who has sneakily been a top 10 play over the last 4 weeks in PPR leagues but he’s out there singing Black Eyed Peas to us.  Folks, where is the love?  Besides these guys, further down the road we have Mendenhall getting a mega-bump along with the Ogre and Donald Brown to wrap up my top 20 RBs and I also gave Ellington a nudge.  This IS still the same Titans team that can’t stop the run, right?  At wide out, I’m finally treating Dez like what he has been: good but not great.  And while I’m at it, I gave Hilton and Patterson a little WR2 love bite due to matchups and explosiveabiltiy.  No need to google that, it’s totally a word.  At TE, I gotta say: it Ertz so good.  On the DST front, Tampa Bay…woah.  I know, I know, San Fran isn’t the Buffalo Bills.  But Tampa Bay isn’t 0-8 Tampa Bay anymore and for very good reasons and are playing at home.  Kickers?  Just my niece and I playing a game of Hungry Hippos where the marbles have kicker names on them.  The ones I got were in, the ones she got were out.  But enough about Delta Burke winning me Josh Scobee, let’s get on with it.  Here’s the rankings for week 15 of the 2013 Fantasy Football season…

Standard 12-team league, who should I FLEX, Riley Cooper or G. Bernard? I probably have to go with upside because my opponent has Brees and Shady McCoy. My other starting RBs and WRs are Reggie/Joique and Vereen, then Dez and J. Gordon.

    Thanks!

    • Sky

      (link)

@Burt: I have Bernard over both Reggie and Joique…I’d be sitting my Lions RB and starting Cooper at flex. It’s not easy to run on Baltimore

You really like Cordarelle this week huh? lol

I have him and Jordy Nelson, but I can’t bring myself to bench Jordy. I’m assuming it’s because of Patterson’s matchup?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

@Richie: Over the last 4 weeks, Cordarrelle is WR20 and Jordy is WR35. I’ll say Jordy has a higher floor but it’s hard to get excited about 4.5 catches and 68.5 yards with zero TDs. There just hasn’t been much fantasy production out of Jordy without Rodgers.

Thanks sky! I was starting to worry and have been refreshing every 5 minutes this morning haha
    Love these rankings!
Can you please walk me through your thoughts and ceiling vs floor views on tamme, pitta and witten for this week? Just was a little surprised by their ranks so trying to understand if witten is down because of his hamstring pull at the end of the game or something else? Thanks man as always!

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

@Zandy: Yeah, I’m an idiot. I thought I had pended the article for the usual time. I was up until flipping 11:30 and still didn’t get the shizz out on time…my bad…

Witten has not been one of the better TEs this year and not even matchups have saved him along the way. Something’s wrong with that Dallas offense.

Pitta was targeted 11 times but Detroit is tough against opposing TEs. I expect solid but not great numbers.

Tamme had 4/47 from the slot when Welker left last week. The 9th best TE on the year is averaging around 6 to 7 points a game on the year. I’m expecting Welker is out and for plenty of thrown balls to be had.

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

@Sky: totally understood. I agree with a lot of what you’ve laid out. Is it wrong to look at tammes one catch in week 13 and get concerned?

        • Sky

          Sky says:
          (link)

Different roles. He’s playing for Welker, not at TE.

@Sky: last waiver move of the week would you drop tamme for Ertz?

@Sky: perfect thank you! Tamme it is!

standard 10 team league. I can flex montee ball or toby gerhart but because ball plays on TNF the decision has to be made today. If i go with Gerhart and he doesnt play or AP starts im left with Jordan todman. Whats the best decisiion here?

  5. brewtown says:
    (link)

What’s your thinking with the high ranking of Ertz? Just a product of a huge day for Foles, or are the Vikes susceptible to an athletic TE? Trying to decide between Gonzalez, Pitta and Ertz, and Ertz seeming like the upside, but riskier play.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Vikings give up the third most points to opposing TEs. The last time Ertz had a good matchup – the Cardinals – he went for 5/68/2. He doesn’t have the floor of some other guys but like I mentioned to someone above, the 9th best TE on the year is averaging around 6 to 7 points a game in standard. I’ll take that kind of upside over 6 or 7 points most weeks.

  6. Greg says:

What if Cuter sits and McCown plays? Does either Bears QB get the 8 spot???

Without your input on the matter, I’m actually tempted to go against you here and play Matt Ryan (with a healthy Roddy White and matched up against a bad pass defense) if Smoking Jay Cutler is brushing off the cobwebs this week. If McCown is running the system I want that dude in. Won’t Cutler be too busy throwing picks at pivotal times like he always does?

Thanks, as always, for all your help!

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

      Yeah, pretty much.

Matt Ryan hasn’t scored over 20 points since week 7. Agree the matchup looks nice but his last three weeks he’s had good matchups and hasn’t done much with them. For fantasy purposes, Cutler was a top 10 QB before the injury and was on pace for about 4350/30/18. McCown isn’t as good as Cutler and has been a bit lucky in the INT department. Both are startable in fantasy, however.

Sky, how would you rank these guys this week ppr:

    Fitzgerald

    WHYYYYYYYY!?!?!

Why did I trade Kaep for Aaron Rodgers 3 weeks ago thinking that Rodgers would be back by this week after my first round bye and I could ride with him to a championship?!

Now I have Rodgers(no hope to return this week), McCown (who will prob be benched this week), Fitzpatrick (really?) and Cousins (REALLY?) on my team.

Assuming Rodgers and McCown don’t play this week, who are the top two from the list below (Ugh!) that you think I should play at QB this week?

    Fitzpatrick
    Cousins
    Eli
    Glennon
    Henne
    Cassel
    McGloin
    Keenum

    Thanks.

If Lacy and MJD are out, where do Starks and Todman slot in?

I’m thinking the same way as you re: Tamme. If I’m playing for highest ceiling, is he still behind D. Walker? 0.5 ppr.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Starks slips up into low end RB2 territory. Todman in high RB3. Bills aren’t easy to run on and I don’t think Starks is as good to put up with having a hole at QB as Lacy is.

  10. Btdrnks says:
    (link)

Should we be concerned about Lacy’s ankle? I have A. Brown. B. Tate, L. Miller, Lacy and Starks. Need to start two (have K. Allen in my flex w Gordon and Megatron at WR) Who do i start if Lacy is out?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Sure, you can be concerned. Since Tate’s listed above all the guys you listed, he’d have to be one. Could see Starks as #2 behind him.

  11. CL says:

    Is it Thursday yet?!?!

It’s just SOOOOO hard for me to put SJax in over Woodhead (PPR, return yards league). But you’ve got them ranked in two separate tiers… comments?

Also, the absence of Dan Bailey, my set-it-and-forget-it kicker, makes me slightly nervous. Where is he on the rankings? Leave him be, or can I do better? I always get effed when I mess with my kicker…

And man, seeing Delanie Walker at #4 makes me warm and fuzzy. Dare say I can get on with living without Gronk?

    • CL says:
      (link)

@CL: I could go with Alex Henery in the dome over Bailey in the dome?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

      Ha, it is!

For one, I don’t rank for return yardage but unless it’s poorly scored (some leagues treat them like rushing/rec yards) I don’t think it does anything besides provide a sound base. SJax has performed when given a good matchup since coming back from injury. Woodhead has a nice floor but Ryan Mathews has been performing and taking a lot of his thunder of late.

Weren’t you effed last week when he only scored 4? He’s not on the rankings so why are you asking me where he’s at on the rankings? :) Don’t go to asking kicker questions, you’ll make me lose faith in humanity…

Let’s hope so about Walker. If he’s healthy, it’s a good matchup.

      • CL says:
        (link)

@Sky: The life of a rosterbater… you can’t try to understand the condition. I had a bye last week, and where I didn’t, I suppose I could have used a better kicker. Henery has been rostered.

        Thanks man, as usual.

    Hi Sky,

I presume I know the answer to this, but just want to confirm.

I have Alshon, Decker, and Antonio Brown as my wideouts (3 WR league). Should I plug in Rainey over Riley as my FLEX? I feel Riley’s due for at least a score.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

I like Riley more this week for sure

  14. Brown L says:
    (link)

WRs looking really spotty for me this week: Colston, K. Wright, Floyd, Ace Sanders. Now, looky here, someone just dropped Patterson for some damn reason! Why did I have to use my waiver priority on Alex Henery of all things? Welp, guess I’m just praying no one else in my league who’s still playing saw that…

So the real question: a combination of McCown and Russell Wilson has pretty much carried me into the playoffs, and I, like you, am a bit ambivalent about RW3 this week on the East Coast. Should I drop McCown for Keenum, who’s your highest ranked QB on the waiver wire? Hold out until we hear more about Cutler?

    • Brown L says:
      (link)

@Brown L: In case it matters, passing yardage is scored 20 yds/point, and 6 pts/TD

    • Sky

      Sky says:

Doubt Keenum is getting snapped up right away. Just hold until Cutler is confirmed.

I can give no absolution for waiver kicker pickups. I’m sorry my son.

I see your defense ranks, and I know TB has been hot of late but you like them that much more against SF then the Eagles against The Vikings? I am trying to choose between the two and the Eagles matchup is very enticing….Thanks

    • Sky

      Sky says:

Eagles have held their opponents down in scoring but they haven’t really stuffed the statsheet. Their upside is limited

    Sky,

I have been riding with Cincinatti defense and i am very hesidtant to sit them and play tampa Bay this week.

can you pls provide why you ranked Tampa Bay higher than Cincy?

    Jagan

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Cincy just did jack squat against the Colts at home and now Big Ben gets to play spoilers. They haven’t been as good as everyone would like them to be. TB has more upside in my book

  17. Jagan says:
    (link)

    Sky,

Sorry to question your rankings a lot this week.

You have Steven Jackson over Lynch. Why is that?

again I generally dont sit by studs.I understand your argument re matchup but somehoe i am worried abt sitting lynch.

    Jagan

    • Sky

      Sky says:

He hasn’t really done much of anything of late. SJax has the better matchup and fresher legs. Plus it could be a laugher before any major fantasy points get scored.

  18. Jagan says:

    Sky,

I have Gonzo/Pitta and your rankings says to start Ertz.

I swear this is my last question on your rankings as I am obviously very torn now as I always value your ramkings and at this stage I see some big suprises in your rankings than what i was thinking to do.

    Couple questions for ya:

Out of all the rankings I look at, you have Knowshon listed the lowest I’ve seen. Are you expecting a big game from Ball tonight? I have both players would it be too cute to play Ball over Knowshon?

Another question regards defenses. How much do you put in to consistency? The Eagles def has quietly averaged 9.5 points over the last 6 weeks (highest score being 12, lowest score being 8 over that time span). No question, the Saints have a better defense and a better matchup, but have been wildly inconsistent over that same time span. Do I go with the sure 9 points or the better matchup (Saints haven’t scored over 13 fantasy points in my league all season). I’m going to need a big week to beat the #1 seed who is 11-2 this year.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

I have Moreno over Ball in my rankings though…

Sure they’ve been consistent but it’s defense. I prefer streaming. Best matchup plays are what I prefer. Eagles haven’t really done much stat wise other than hold down scoring which is nice but all it takes is a good scoring game from the opponent and that floor is gone

  23. Shake N Bacon says:

Sky, looking for some input on a stupid ass thing I did in my RCL league on accident.

I went to pick up Daniel Thomas (because my running back situation is rough with AP getting hurt). Instead of dropping Willis McGahee for Daniel Thomas, I accidentally clicked on Adrian Peterson. I quickly went through the process of clicking “OK”. Didn’t notice what I had done until this morning.

I don’t expect anyone to let me pick him back up, but I feel like there could be some issues with someone possibly winning the championship next week because they added AP when they never would’ve had him in the first place.

I know it’s my own dumbass mistake, but I’d hate for it to be the reason why someone would win the league.

If it was your league, would you make him off limits? Let whomever pick him up?

Obviously he is hurt this week and won’t be playing. He may not even play next week, so it could be a moot point.

Just curious what your thoughts are on this matter…other than I’m a dumbass.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

      Oh fudge. Only I didn’t say fudge…

Odd you were able to drop AP. If the league were setup correctly, I don’t think it would’ve allowed (my razzball leagues pin the top two players you draft to your roster).

If it were my league, I’d put AP back on your team and drop McGahee retroactively for you. Mistakes happen and it’s pretty clear this one was one.

      • Shake N Bacon says:
        (link)

@Sky: That was my reaction this morning…What The FUDGE! For a second I thought I was on another league’s page and thinking to myself “Who is the idiot who dropped AP?” It was me!

Yeah I’m not sure why I was able to drop him either. I can see where it makes sense if he went on the IR.

I wrote a message in the league and the commish may be nixing my initial transaction as long as the rest of the league is ok with it.

I don’t have high hopes of winning this week in the league anyways, but didn’t want my dumb mistake to completely change the outcome of the championship.

I’m banking on Ogbonnaya and Ellington to pick up the slack with AP getting hurt. Not pretty.

Thanks for your input Sky. I appreciate it.

    In a tough spot..PPR

    I got:
    AP
    Toby G
    Chris Johnson
    Reggie Bush
    Monte Ball

Ball plays tonight. Not sure I can take the risk on Bush who plays Monday night. He’s not practicing today. Do I go with Ball tonight and go with CJ if Toby G is out? Vikings play at 1pm, Titans play in the 4pm games. Thx

I failed to mention I have Chris Ivory and Ellington is on the waiver wire

You have to roll Montee out there and hope Toby or AP plays. Pretty sure Bush will play, just don’t like his matchup.

Hey sky I have Cutler and Big Ben, is Cutler ranked higher in your rankings because of upside. Basically I’m asking would starting Big Ben because he feels safer be crazy? I have Rivers playing tonight also, how he does might affect my decision.

Last week wasn’t a good matchup and the weather was horrid. I’m sure Celek won’t be forgotten but Ertz has performed well when given the right matchup. He destroyed the Cardinals just a couple of weeks ago.

Right now I am looking at:
    QB: Flynn/Rodgers
    RB1: Murray
    WR1: Djax
    TE1: Cameron
I need a WR2, and 2 Flex out of Pierre Thomas, Tamme (going against #1 team with Peyton), Kendall Wright, Colston, Steve Smith and Chris Johnson. I thought it was going to be Tamme, Colston, and Wright, but Thomas throws a wrench in that plan. I really like Tamme this week, and I have to start Colston. Wright’s week last week and injuries scare me.

    My lineup:
    WR: Keenan Allen
    WR: Torrey Smith

    TE: Julius Thomas
    Flex : Woodhead

Bench : Fitz, Shorts, Patterson, Ogbonnaya, Ellington

    • Sky

12-team, 0.5 PPR, with 1pt/20 ind ret yards:

    QB- Foles
    WR- Megatron
    WR- Dez
    RB- McCoy
    RB- A. Brown
    TE- Jimmy
    W/T- ???
    W/R/T- ???
( Spiller, Jacoby Jones, Cruz, Tamme, Pitta, Todman )
Need to fill the two flex spots. I’m heavily favored and the guy I’m playing is a Peterson owner with little to back him up. I’m looking for the safest play. Need to decide whether to use Tamme tonight or to wait for weekend. First instinct was Jacoby since he should get at least 4-5 returns; then play Todman if MJD is out, or Spiller if MJD plays. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Also i have Clay and Pitta (thanks Gronk) is there a big gap between the two cause of right now im starting Clay

    • Sky

      Sky says:

Yeah, upside play and recent target trends. Pitta is Flacco’s boo. I think that gives him the edge even against a tough matchup.

    • Sky

If Brazill is actually out, he’ll move up but I already have him pretty high. I’d think Fleener would get more of a nod and DHB could sneak up a bit.

  46. brick says:
    (link)

    Hey Sky,

    Thanks for the rankings!

    A few questions:

NPPR Flex R. Jennings over Edelman?

NPPR Drop Wallace/McCown/Sproles/Kaep to start Ertz over Pitta? Or hold.

Pick 2 to fill flex spots (PPR): Colston, Fleener, Rainey.
I’m leaning Fleener, Rainey as rainey has the higher floor, if the saints go up they could just run all day and leave colston with zero, where rainey has a pretty good shot for ~50yds on 25 carries or something.

Appreciate the help! Got three teams in the playoffs, but lost gronk in all of them, hoping to win at least one still!

    • Sky

      Sky says:

Glad to hear you’re still in it and thanks for the kind words! Here’s to your TE streams holding down the fort down the stretch.

      Jennings for upside

      Fleener/Rainey make sense.

    (link)

This is tough, I was set to go with Gordon, Megatron, and Decker at WR and my RB’s as Vereen and Murray (at least I think those are the 2 to play). My question was going to be which to flex (PPR): Keenan Allen or Zac Stacy (leaving Ben Tate and Chris Johnson on the bench)? You are super high on Allen. Should he and Decker be my third WR and flex? Tough to leave Stacy and Tate on the bench…

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

These are good problems to have. I’d want Keenan in. Move him and Decker into WR slots because they’re playing tonight. Put either Gordon or Megatron at flex just in case of unforeseeable injuries on Friday.

My clear autostarts are J Gordon and L McCoy.

    A Brown
    Stacy
    Pierre
    Rainey
    Rice

    3 WR
    Green
    Nelson
    Shorts
    Amendola
    Patterson

I’m starting Matt Ryan. Should I stream Tannehill?

    TB over Den,

I know your answer is gonna be look at the rankings, but I rarely question you. But you really like Pierre over my other backs less Brown against SEA.

You also don’t like Wilsin against NYG this week? I’d think he’d gave a great game.?

    Thanks!!!

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

I think Wilson will be fine but won’t have huge upside. NYG has performed decently on the defensive side of the ball. Don’t think it’ll be a huge game for anyone from Seattle on offense, personally. Maybe the kicker.

I like Tannehill this week. Should throw alot.

Not sure how to respond to the rest. Not trying to be rude but I spend plenty of hours ranking these guys. Asking me to retype what I already ranked above is kind of insulting. If you want to go a different way, that’s cool but I ranked them how I saw them.

      • Matthew says:
        (link)

@Sky: Sky, my friend, I wasn’t “insulting you.” You guys can be sensitive sometime. The question was taken out of context. You basically answered what I was asking before you took offense. I basically wanted to see if you could answer my question a little in depth like you did with Wilson. That’s all. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

PS: I’ve been coming to Razzball for a long time. Huge fan, I use barley any other website or rankings, information etc. other than Razzball, so theres no doubt I wouldn’t insult you. Haha. All in love brotha.

Just for me, if you want me to explain I’m completely open to ‘could you please explain why you have x player over y’. ‘Are you sure’ leaves me in limbo just as to what the angle is. Pierre’s matchup is hard to beat this week. Rams give up plenty on the ground as a whole and he has performed well when given the right matchup.

Love ya back! Thanks for clarifying and glad to have you around.

Love the opening. Anyone who has used your rankings and read your blog should know by now that you will always have a few pick that lie outside the norm. And why shouldn’t you! When you look at FF results from week to week crazy outside the box things happen. So why not predict some of them?

    1. What do you think about about Boykin if Rodgers comes back? DAL is a cupcake matchup.

    2. Are you dropping RG3 for just about any roster need? I still see a very small chance at a reversal of fortune, but maybe Cutler is good enough for me to go forwards despite WAS’s good matchups.

    • Sky

      Sky says:

      Ha, thanks.

      1) If he were fully healthy, I’d be interested but I don’t trust he is or will be by Sunday. If he’s iffy now, I wouldn’t be excited to start anyone associated with GB outside of Lacy if he’s healthy.

      2) Can drop for Cutler. 1QB leagues there’s enough waiver wire juice to survive if you drop him and he does come back.

    Sky,

Great job all year bro! I’ve been reading Razzball as my morning paper read for the last four years now and you guys never disappoint.

More of a question for my flex (Yahoo PPR )…I have Knowshon, Lacy, Vereen…and Flash Gordon, Demaryius, Keenan Allen…

Start two RB’s, two WR’s, and a FLEX:

    My gut says:

    RB: Lacy
    RB: Vereen
    WR: Flash Gordon
    WR: Demaryius
    FLEX: Knowshon
    BN: Allen

I trust the “dont bench your studs” concept and understand why Demaryius and Knowshon are ranked alot lower…but do you think Keenan is a much better play than my two stud WR’s or a better play than Knowshon? Sorry…i know im rambling…definitely a good problem to have. Thank you for your advice!

    -The G

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Sweet, awesome to hear! Thanks for reading.

Demaryius is a stud but Peyton feeds the ball around. Rivers has some main targets and Keenan is one of them. I’d sit either DT or Moreno. Would probably be DT just because we know Moreno will touch the ball plenty. Like you said, good problems to have.

  63. Harry Pubiak says:

    Stafford/Rivers
    R. Bush/Stacy/A. Brown/Spiller
    D. Jackson/Decker/Cruz/Bowe
    J. Graham
    KC/BUF DEF
    Hauschka

I need to start 2 RB, 2 WR, and a flex. What would you do for the flex? Are you worried about Reggie? Should I pick up Jacoby, Nate, or Marlon and flex Reggie just in case he can’t go Monday night?

    Thanks again,

Yeah, I’m worried about Reggie; he has his owners over a barrel right now. I’d pick up all 3 RBs if I could. If not, I’d pick them up by how I ranked them in terms of order. Rashard may be boring but his matchup is good and I could see 60 and a TD from him with minimal effort. Then start Stacy unless we get clarification earlier.

In round 2 of playoffs in 12tm, full ppr. Need to start 2RBs, 3WRs, and a W/R/T from the below list.

RB – McCoy, Chris Johnson, Sproles, Ball, Gerhart
WR – Cruz, Jeffrey, Shorts, Amendola, Crabtree

McCoy is obviously locked in at RB1. Thinking of starting Ball tonight at RB2 instead of CJ (vs ARI), leaving Gerhart and Sproles for the decision at flex.

Jeffrey is locked in, but not sure about the other 2. Shorts is quest but has played thru injury all year. Cruz has Seattle but may still get his looks.. maybe Amendola over him now that Gronk is out and pick between Cruz and Shorts for WR3?

Ha! Football is all about adjustments. In game, in season…all adjustments. Buccaneers started 0-8 and sure aren’t playing like an 0-8 team now. I just try not to fight the trend. I’m easy like that.

I just saw a comment on another site saying that with the added time to prepare denver plans to use tamme and caldwell in the slot… have you seen that anywhere else?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

I haven’t. Not entirely surprised but I’d be surprised if that means a huge amount overall. TE is still a low upside position as it is unless you have a big stud. Think low end TE1 numbers are attainable.

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

@Sky: Seem to find people guessing about caldwell rather than confirmed. its a thurs night game so id beleive it more if they had a full week. that said…
        Its my
Brees, Calvin, Keenan, Stacy, Mathews, Djax and ____ vs his Tannenhill BMarshall Da’rick RBush Moreno AndreBrown and Delanie
        Standard league
I am supposed to win this week…. it’s the Tamme risk/upside vs. Pitta mediocrity? all while staring at Witten saying WTF man
In a favored position what would you do? Tamme and the dagger or Pitta and his 5 pt floor?

They’re pretty close in rankings. I play big when and where I can. I’d go Tamme

          • Zandy says:
            (link)

@Sky: Assume you gotta sit tamme? The Denver Post reports TE Virgil Green, and not TE Jacob Tamme, will get the start in Wes Welker’s (concussion) place in the slot against the Chargers

F’ed up in one league and left in green at TE and woodhead at flex rather than get back to a computer before 7:25. thought game was at 7:30. I was attempting to punch in lineup at 7:28. thank god it’s a free league. could have put in paulsen (actually used in offense last few weeks, assumedly would be again unless reed plays, and I have reed) and any of wright/ivory/MJD (if he doesn’t start) at flex over woodhead. for some reason espn projections have woodhead quite high. anyway in leagues where it matters more
    1. so cutler who hasn’t played in a month is addable over tannehill, due to playing against CLE’s 22nd ranked pass defense (those who aren’t haden, aren’t good)

    • goodfold2 says:
      (link)

@goodfold2: also could have had ertz, but didn’t like his 0 yards last week, of course green’s 1 target isn’t much better. really screwed up here.

      • goodfold2 says:
        (link)

@goodfold2: i’ll attempt to call it now, paulsen 82 yards on 5 or 6 catches. this is non-PPR but i’ll take the 8.

Against one of the better defenses against opposing RBs and with Bush dinged up could turn into a timeshare? I’m doubting that. You made the right call.

          • @Sky: I hope you’re right.

            • Yes! A TD! You da man, again! 12% absolved!

@goodfold2: you also have absolutely no idea whether or not bush plays, and if he does likely splits time with j.bell. I suppose you’d rather have had woodhead get 16 rushes or more?

  73. Shit. Manning is sucking balls. Damn you and your rankings!

    • the imp says:
      (link)

@James R: Dude, not to be rude, and not because Sky wants or needs a defense…..
      1. This is your team. You make the call, not Sky….He wants you to succeed so you will support the site. He obviously isn’t going to mess anybody up on purpose. When I disagree with his call, I just go my own way. You can too.

      2. Sky actually has Manning lower than “consensus”. Everybody thought Manning would go off, nobody could guarantee it. This is fantasy football.

In most leagues, the Broncos not going off is going to hurt the owners of: 1) Jacob Tamme and 2) Demaryious Thomas a lot more than Manning owners. I hope you win your week. With the night Mathews has had you probably in a damn good spot.

      • @the imp: Tie a string around your finger.

I fucked up and started Woodhead tonight instead of waiting for Morris to go on Sunday. My bad not yours. Read your ratings and it was my decision to follow them. Given the fact that I’m down by 25 now and have little hope of catching up, would you start Fitz over Morris in PPR flex to try and make up points?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Damn, sorry to hear that. Personally have a good feeling about Morris running crazy on Sunday to limit Cousins and possible mistakes. I’d personally hold the line with Morris there.

    • goodfold2 says:
      (link)

@Robert: me too with the woodhead (thought game started 5 minutes later than when the lineups locked), would’ve put in paulsen or reed for green as well.

      • goodfold2 says:
        (link)

@goodfold2: actually wood head WAS my best option, higher than MJD even if he plays (which certainly is not guaranteed) and k.wright against ARI defense, so only messed up leaving green in.

    Moreno and Prater

    Prater

    Wow did Denver disappoint. Wow.

Kennan Allen made up for it, but the 29 Rec yards sucked.

One of my opponents has Manning, but Matthews to make up for it.

Should of started Morris over Knowshown. Was a tough all.

Love your rankings, hopefully Sunday makes up for it. Can’t wait to read your take on tonight.

    • goodfold2 says:

@Matthew: you gotta be happy, playing against one of the worst defenses in football, and manning (your opp’s) does only that. many playoff teams are sweating after that game.

Why do I want to start Ellington over Mendenhall this week? Is that silly? It is half pt. PPR. Last week Ellington outscored by 3 in this format.

Every single week 15 ranking I have found including yours (which seem like the best in aggregate) has Mendy over Ellington, making me second guess myself.

Ellington @ TEN or Todman vs. BUF if MJD is out?

Odd scoring format: 6 pts. for TD, 2 points for 10 rushing attempts/catches, 2 points per 50 rushing/reception yards, 4 pt. bonus for 50+ yard TD.

    What say you, SkyMan?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

They’d be close. Buffalo isn’t the easiest team to run on but Ellington is in a timeshare. Given your scoring format, I’d think Todman would have the easiest access to clearing those 50′s and would lean his way.

Hey Sky, how come you’re down on Hartline. He’s been one of the more consistent WRs this year in terms of yardage and targets. The only knock has been his inability to find the endzone but after 2 TDs in the last 2 weeks, hasn’t he turned the corner?

I am deciding between Hartline, Cordarelle and Cecil Shorts for my WR2 slot this week in playoff round 1 of a standard yahoo 12-team league and my gut is telling me that Hartline is the better play. I would love to get Cordarelle’s upside but it’s a very risky move. And Cecil is injured and has been disappointing all season.

What do you think? As always, your advice is greatly appreciated.

I have both vereen and forte. Your rankings suggest I play Vereen over Forte but Im scared as shit to bench Forte whos been money for pretty much the entire year. Can you elaborate a little on why i should play Vereen when Miami always gives the Pats tough games?

    • Sky

      Sky says:

Because there is no more Gronk and Vereen went off when he left last week. It’s up to you, both should have good games

QB starter question for you. Stafford or Foles? I’m also starting McCoy and DeSean Jackson if that influences your opinion at all. With Detroit’s banged up secondary and Flacco’s penchant for the deep pass, Detroit/Baltimore could turn into a shootout. My fear with Foles is if Philly goes up big, they may just keep feeding the rock to McCoy to burn clock. What do you think?

WR question too. Fitzgerald or T.Y. Hilton? Do I ride the hot hand with Fitzgerald or go with the potential of Hilton, knowing what he did to the Texans the last time they met? I see you have Hilton ranked higher this week than Fitzgerald. Are you thinking along the same lines?

    QB: Stafford
    RB: Forte
    RB:Vereen
    WR: Dez
    WR: Fitzgerald
    WR:Cruz?
    TE: PItta
    Flex(RBWRTE):?
    D/ST: Bengals or Pats?
    K: Hartley

Bench: G Tate, Ellington, Delanie Walker, H Miller, Ivory, Harvin, Roethlisberger

Trying to decided WR3, Flex, and D/ST..Cruz has been disappointing the last 6 weeks or so plus has a tough match up but still leaning towards starting him, agree? Flex I’m trying to decide between Ellington, D Walker, or Tate..and I have no idea which D. Don’ feel very confident in either of them this week. Like I said, any advice you have on who to start or maybe someone to target off free agency, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
