Why can’t Chiefs fans have anything nice? First they get broken down Joe Montana and Marcus Allen, then they lose Derrick Thomas, and now this? How much can one fanbase take? Oh, sit down Dog Pound, no one wants to hear your stupid story. What did the good folks of Kansas City ever do to you football gods? All these people do is give! They give us delicious BBQ and unrelenting support to their local NFL chapter. How do we repay them for their altruism? Pain lots and lots of pain. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, welcome back from your coma. We’re now all slaves to alien masters that resemble Andy Dick…. Oh and Jamaal Charles’ knee caved like the French in WWII! As for the latter we’re all left to pickup the pieces as Charles owners. This my loyal Razzscallions is why I present to you…

**The Jamaal Charles Injury Special Alert/#reminder2putinaclaim/#longhashtagsrule/#Tipa40forJamaal**

Charcandrick West (Yahoo 12% ESPN .3%) – The early word is that, soon to be Key and Peele East vs. West favorite, Charcandrick West is sliding into the starting job. It’s totally reasonable to know zero about the second year back from Abilene Christian. Mostly because he’s a second year back that was undrafted out Abilene Freaking Christian! Word on the street is that West is a freak athlete with a great set of wheels. But shoooot see for yourself, here’s a highlight video from college. I wouldn’t jump to any lofty conclusions from it though. After all everyone in the pros has a highlight video from college. Jamarcus Russell has a highlight video from college! Eddie the intern at my company has a highlight video from college!! You get the point… Here’s what we do know, with Charles down he’s rumored to be getting the lionshare of touches in the KC backfield. In one league with no waivers, I added both West and Knile Davis minutes after the injury. I’m going to give it a week to let it shake out, and I would suggest putting waiver claims in for both. Charcandrick gets the priority with Davis there as a handcuff/consolation prize depending on how your waiver position looks.

Knile Davis (Yahoo 15% ESPN 23.5%) – Are people really supposed to buy into an undrafted FCS guy, over someone who’s shown he can be a useful player in Charles’ absence? I think West is your first priority, but I’d make Davis your second. If you can own both, do it. My hunch is Davis cements himself as the starter within a week or two.

Quarterbacks

Blake Bortles (Yahoo 25% ESPN 27.5%) – I may have featured him in an earlier post, but I’m too lazy to look back and check. Sometimes I like to boil these blurbs down to a single question. “Would you rather have Bortles or Peyton Manning?”… It’s all so clear now.

Josh McCown (Yahoo 7% ESPN 4%) – I’m the guy that suggests a low ceiling QB a week late. Then again, that was a rather high ceiling on Sunday, no? If you’re in a 14 team or larger, are starting Peyton Manning still, or got caught up with Wedeen on the bye week (joking) put in a claim for this Brown dookie. He’ll never touch the heights he did in Week 5 again, but I have a feeling he’ll see a solid amount of attempts going forward. He’s a little banged up but he probably needs to ice his arm after Sunday. Browns fans be like, “Johnny what? Johnny who?”

Running Backs

Theo Riddick (Yahoo 6% ESPN 15.2%) – A small fox showed up at my doorstep yesterday and told me that Riddick was the most reliable back in Detroit. At first I disagreed, but you know what? That Fox is right…. Theo saw 13 targets in the passing game and the role of safety valve is the only one with any value in the D at the moment.

Javorius “Buck” Allen (Yahoo 1% ESPN 1.5%) – In Yahoo he’s listed as Javorius, but you probably know him as Buck. Allen is a must add for all Forsett owners, with the running back’s status for next week still up in the air. Word from Ravens camp is that Forsett will be active, but things change quick, and flare ups happen. If by chance Forsett is inactive expect Lorenzo Taliaferro to split the carries with Allen, and pouch the goal line work. Allen is a long shot play in my opinion.

Wide Receiver

Brandon LaFell (Yahoo 29% ESPN 14.7%) – Another weapon is likely to be added to Tom Brady’s arsenal next week. As last year’s number two receiver is due back from the PUP list in week 7. I’d put in a claim this week to stash him and expect a boom or bust WR3/Flex in 12 team leagues. With the way the Pats are currently airing it out, you have to love the potential of a true home run threat like LaFell.

Jamison Crowder (Yahoo 5% ESPN 4.7%) – The slot receiver has 21 catches on 26 targets over the past three games. With both Jordan Reed and DeSean Jackson out Crowder has value. This week’s matchup with the Jets looks a bit daunting, but in deeper PPR leagues he could have some value as a bye week fill in.

Tight End

The Raiders are on a bye no Tight Ends to pickup this week. Oh yeah, and ignore the train wreck that is Owen Daniels. A zero? A F*&#@% zero?

Jacob Tamme (Yahoo 1% ESPN 1%) – This is the closest I can come to a tight end suggestion this week. Had a big game against Washington on Sunday, but has been non existent at times this year, and in his underwhelming career. The Falcons are a top offense and that makes Tamme worth taking a flier on. If he can find his way to 5-7 targets a game, and convert his red zone looks he might be on the back end of the TE1’s by seasons end.
