This injury hits really hard in the 2-QB and super flex leagues. In most other formats I think Dalton owners can get by. Make no mistake about it, this is not good for A.J. Green, Jeremy Hill, and Gio Bernard owners. The likelihood of A.J. Green having a bad game just about tripled I'd say, and his range of outcomes is all over the place, because of A.J. McCarron.
We all remember the truly transcendent performances that single-handedly win playoff weeks for us. Names like Drew Bennett and Jerome Harrison come to mind on the offensive side of the ball, but the IDP world doesn't really have an epic game to point to in the playoffs. That all changed on Sunday, as Khalil Mack wrecked Brock Osweiler's world en route to 7 tackles, 5 sacks and a forced fumble. He led the way for all IDPs in standard scoring leagues, but in big play leagues, he potentially put up the biggest individual game of the season. If you started Mack last week, congratulations on what was likely a huge victory. Moving forward, things get complicated. In general, Mack's positional eligibility has been a hot topic all season, with some sites listing him as a DE, some as an LB, and some with dual eligibility. As a DE, he's been a no-doubt starter in big play leagues, and a fringe starter in standard scoring, due to his heavy reliance on sacks. As an LB, he's not really startable unless you're in a deep big-play league. To complicate things further, Green Bay is likely to game plan for Mack more so than usual this week after his coming out party, and they're in the middle of the pack in terms of sacks allowed this year. So if you started him last week, I'd keep rolling him out because your league's setting likely make him a viable starter. But if you're in a more standard league, and he's listed as an LB only, then I'd keep him on the bench.
In his last four games,
Cam Newton has thrown 13 touchdown passes. To put that into perspective, on the season Matt Ryan has 17, Jay Cutler has 16, Alex Smith has 15 and Teddy Bridgewater has 9. Newton leads all quarterbacks in rushing yards (480) and rushing touchdown (7). To put that into perspective, only Devonta Freeman, Adrian Peterson, DeAngelo Williams and Jeremy Hill have more rushing TDs. The only player in fantasy football with more points than Newton is Tom Brady. With an ADP of about 89, and the 12th QB taken off the board this season, Cam is defying the laws of fantasy football motion.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Currently at 13-0, the Panthers are staring at an undefeated season. If I were a betting man, which I am, my money says they make it to 16-0. This week he gets the Giants. The Giants defense is allowing 314.8 yards and 1.8 touchdowns per game to opposing quarterbacks. I think a 4 touchdown game is not out of the question.

With as many injuries as we saw in Week 14, with Eifert, J-Stew, Olsen, Dalton, Yeldon, Rawls, V-Jax and Blount to name a few, the teams that made it through to their league’s semi-final round (the teams that actually followed my advice of course) are going to need some help. And of course, I’m here to wipe away the tears and tell you everything is going to be Okay. Even this late in the season, there is still plenty of players that could still help your team go all the way and win me… I mean, you money! So, let’s get to it!

Well, we all knew the Bengals season was going to end as soon as they played their first playoff game, the only questions to be answered was the how and why. Unfortunately for the Bengals, the answers came about a month too early. Now sitting at 10-3, Andy Dalton broke his thumb while, of all things, making a tackle (shown above) after throwing an interception. The loss came at the hands of perpetual division rival and bee-uniform wearing Steelers, further complicating the Bengals road to their one-and-done playoff appearance. Even Tyler Eifert went down with a concussion in the first half of yesterday's game. So you have to wonder, can they still get a bye and go for a loss during the divisional playoffs? Or will that loss come during Wild Card Weekend? All joking aside, you'd have to think that with this year's Andy Dalton, the Bengals had the best chance they've had since the Carter administration to get a playoff victory, but depending on how long Dalton is out, you have to figure that limping into the tournament and unable to get a playoff win is the most likely scenario. And also sounds like a new verse for Alanis Morrisette's "Ironic".
